Home. It was always a relief to be home, after being gone. As exciting and romantic as adventures were supposed to be, most of the ones he'd been on in this life had just been stressful and tiring. It didn't help that his usually seemed to involve looking for missing loved ones - and, more often than not, they eluded him. Adi, at least, had not, and was finally home and safe, if not precisely happy. He couldn't rightly expect her to be, not after she'd tried and failed to find the other half of their family. It was a wound that would remain open until the day they resurfaced, which for all they knew could be never. It was hard enough for him, and he was a lot older than six, and depressingly used to coping with such things (mostly by avoiding thinking about them as much as possible).
Rio was tired. Tired of being away, tired of being worried, tired of being tired. Upon returning to the Pantheon, he'd promptly shut himself in his rooms and slept for two days, and was now only just starting to stir as night fell.

Leo was no replacement for Love by any stretch of the imagination, but he had done his best while the god was gone to keep things going. He had looked after those who came to seek Rio out, keeping them company and offering advice when he was able to. Between Shy, Ishka and himself they had done fairly well, at least he thought so. Today had been quiet so he had been sitting in the living room playing with Emile until the boy had fallen asleep. Once he put his son to bed Leo headed into Love's bedroom. Hopefully he wouldn't mind the company, even if it was just to curl up with.

Still barely awake, Rio was considering just rolling over and going back to sleep again and avoiding everything for a day or so, and might have done just that if someone hadn't come in. The sprawled-out god cracked one eye open to see who it was, regarding Leo upside-down for a moment before offering a sleepy smile.
"lo," was his cheerful, if terribly ineloquent, greeting.

"Hello." He smiled and headed for the bed, climbing in beside Rio. "I didn't intend to wake you. Just climb into bed and be here when you got up." Given the state Love had been in when he finally returned he knew that something had happened. Something unpleasant if it was enough to dampen the god's mood. "If you want to go back to sleep Naamah, it's alright."
Rio would get a kiss as Leo settled down and got comfortable.

"I was starting to wake up, anyway. It's just as well you came in, or I might have given up on it." Love shifted positions so he wasn't taking up quite so much of the bed, and reached to wrap his arms around his companion. Leo was very high up on the list of everything he'd missed while he was away, part of home and family.

"I missed you." He wrapped his arms around Rio as well once they had both resettled. "Is it something you need to talk about?" If he said no then Leo would leave it alone, but if he could help soothe it then he wanted to. Another kiss then he rested his head against Love's shoulder.

"I missed you, too." He was quiet for a moment, after that. It wasn't precisely something he needed - or particularly wanted - to talk about, but he would rather tell Leo than leave him to guess or worry. "It's nothing new, really. The same worrying about everyone who's disappeared. Not being able to find them. I just wish I could spare Adi the hurt."

He made a little noise of regret because it was something he could not truly help with. "I don't want to sound callous but I am sure there were good reasons for them to do so. Who in their right mind would leave you and Adi for anything less than that?" Leo nuzzled Rio's neck and bit back a sight. "Enough of heavy things for now." He had already badgered the god too much over it. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

"I know," he agreed with a sigh. Knowing that there were good reasons, however, didn't make it much easier. He still worried about where they were, and what might have happened to them. And Adi... Rio shook his head, banishing the thoughts he was all too familiar with by now. Going over them again never helped.
"Nothing you haven't done already. Thank you, for taking care of things."

"It is what I am here for, Naamah." To serve, however Rio needed him to.
"There are letters to read when you feel like it that might amuse you. More admirers no doubt, and mortals looking for advice. I did what I could with some of them but there are those who would benefit from your aid." One hand trailed up to run through Love's hair. He smiled. "You have quite the reputation." In a good way though.

"Careful, or you may end up doing everything while I continue to be thoroughly unproductive," Rio cautioned, though he was mostly teasing.
"Do I?" Love laughed, genuinely amused. "I suppose I'll have to start living up to it more often. In the morning, perhaps. I don't think I'm conscious enough to be literate yet."

His smile turned into a little grin. "In the morning works. It means I can keep you to myself for a night." Even if it was just sleeping cuddled up together. He missed this, he really did. "While we are both still awake, would you like a backrub?" If he did, that would probably be enough to put him to sleep.

"You spoil me entirely too much," he protested, although it was far from a complaint. "It's a wonder I survived being away at all, with no one to give me backrubs."
"But no, your company is more than sufficient," Rio finally answered. "Unless you want me to go back to sleep."

"You deserve it." Spoiling others was pretty well what Leo lived for. He kissed Rio's forehead lightly.
"I do know of a certain someone in particular, a goddess even, who might benefit from your company." Love did not seem to have the opportunity to charm many of them. So it might perk him up a bit. "Lady Laughter...Lisana." There was a certain fondness when he said her name, but they were only friends. "She is better than she was but there are some days that seemingly nothing can bring a smile to her face."

"One of the ever-elusive goddesses?" Rio gave a short chuckle. By this point, he had learned to be amused by his apparent inability to charm other deities. Amusement faded quickly, however, as this was serious. Sadness simply wouldn't do, particularly not in the Goddess of Laughter."Am I allowed to ask what happened?"
"She seemed in good spirits last I saw her, but that was...quite some time ago."
