Erionda slumped sleepily against a tree. It had been quite a long time since Erionda had been surrounded by trees and shrubs. The last time had been when she had met Kilian for the first time. Her eyes shifted to glide over Kilians form. Her heartbeat quickened as she blushed, her eyes were watching his muscles shift under the skin. Giggling Erionda looked quickly away before he could catch her staring. To her he looked so at home here, where the forest was dark and foreboding in a way. Twisting the medal she had received from the race leaders, in her hands Erionda felt nervous. Even with the medal signifying she now had permission to enter the major cities things still felt fragile. Her body was cloaked behind her usual hooded robe. Only her violet purple horns protruded into view. Not that it did much good these days. Since the ceremony it was as if everyone could spot her a mile away.

Staring up at the canopy with her back against the tree, Erionda pushed the hood away from her face. Glancing at Kilian hoping to meet his gaze before turning to look back up the path. They had been walking for several hours, and the change in temperature was welcoming yet exhausting. She didn’t sleep well in the heat of Eoywn and yet, here, she found sleep came easier if not abruptly in the cooler air.

Kilian’s gaze wandered over the forest. It had been a while since he’d been back to his home continent, that his surroundings were almost foreign to him now. Amadia had ran off ahead of them, her head low to the ground as she sniffed things out. This was their home. And yet he felt so out of place here. His eyebrow quirked up as Erionda giggled. He looked over at her and couldn’t help but smile. His hand reached out and slipped into her’s.

He watched her play with the medal that hung from her neck. He remembered how worried he’d been when she hadn’t been in her home. Flashes of her being kidnapped again had shot through his mind. Then seeing her up there in front of all those Magescians. It had nearly given him a heart attack.

“You’re sure you want to do this?” Kilian asked as he watched her turn her gaze back to the path ahead of them. “You can still back out.” He frowned as he thought back to his parents’ reactions to his news. He had traveled into the city without Erionda and had told them about her. Leaving out one important detail; she was a hybrid. He looked back ahead of them, wondering what was going to happen when his family found out what she was.

He squeezed her hand, reassuring himself that she was still there. Kilian was determined to make this work. He’d never wanted more in his life than this woman beside him. If his parents couldn’t see past the fact that she was a hybrid then so be it. As much as he loved his family, he wouldn’t not sacrifice his happiness to appease them.

Erionda pushed away from the tree as he slipped his hand around hers. it felt so natural the way their hands fit together. Contact from his skin felt like a jolt of rejuvenating electricity through her arm. her eyes danced about the path ahead as he spoke. giving him a reassuring squeeze with her hand. For Kilian she would do anything. if that required meeting his parents so be it. kilian meant more to her than just a friend. she could not back down.

turning to smile at kilian she shook her head slowly from side to side. "i am not going to back out." reaching out with her free hand Rio slipped it around the oblivionites neck. pressing a feather light kiss on his lips. leaning back to search his face with her eyes. did he worry about how this would work?

she couldn't help but want to know what he had said about her. closing her eyes Rio turned her head away to cover a yawn. with the day progressing all the hybrid wanted to do was find a canopy to sleep under. the leaves offered a perfect white noise as they rustled about around her. "should i wait here?" Rio asked nervously. "or is it best i come with you?" her fingers twitched nervously.

Kilian stopped in his tracks as she moved in front of him and slipped her free arm around his neck. He relaxed as her lips met his. It was a short and light kiss but it left a feeling lingering on his lips that he couldn’t explain. His hand went up to her face as she pulled back and he ran his fingers lightly over her cheek. He would never be able to get enough of this woman. Not in a million years.

His gaze searched her face as she talked. “We’d best stick together.” Kilian said as he looked out into the forest. There were things here he’d rather her not run into. Other Oblivionites being the main thing. If she stayed with him he’d at least be able to help keep her safe. Kilan had asked his family to meet him in a clearing that was just up ahead, so at least they didn’t have very much farther to travel. “It’s just up ahead.” He said softly as he leaned in to place a kiss on her lips.

Kilian pulled back and continued along the path. His muscles were starting to tense. This meeting made him nervous. A lot of things, lately, seemed to be making him nervous. He didn’t like the feeling. Wasn’t use to it. It use to be that he only had to worry about himself and Amadia. Now, however he had Erionda to worry about. He squeezed her hand as they came to the edge of the clearing. He took a deep breath and looked down at her. “Ready?” He asked her, a tinge of the nervousness to his voice.

The medal while it granted her access to the Celestial plane. An area she wanted to much to be a part of, still did not allow her access into Soudul's major city. Probably for the best in Erionda's opinion. She was like a rabbit in a wolf's den in there.

The kiss on her lips felt warm, Kilian was able to send tendrils of fire through her body at the slightest provocation. His kiss soothed her nerves and yet set then exploding like fireworks. Awaking her sleepy mind and body. She loved the contact with her Oblivionite, and wouldn’t trade for all the soul orbs in all of Magesc.

Erionda took a deep breath as Kilian mentioned they were close. As he pulled away, the hybrid reached up with both her hands and pulled her hood over her face once again. Her horns quickly finding their gaps. Her eyes scanned the forest ahead. She had no idea what to expect. She could handle herself if it came down to it. Her heart ached. She would never force Kilian to fight his friends and family. She would defend herself without hurting them, and flee with the first opportunity.

Sighing Erionda hurried forward and slipped her hand back into Kilians. Just as he squeezed with the fresh contact. Erionda shivered and looked up at Kilian. Was he nervous? Worried about what would happen? Was he unsure of what would happen? Erionda gave him a brief reassuring smile meant to calm him. Nodding her head briefly Erionda turned her gaze to the clearing. Waiting for Kilian to take the first steps forward. She wanted to wait until she knew it was safe to follow him into the clearing.

Kilian gave a soft nod at Erionda. It was now or never. No sense in just standing here and wasting time. He pushed through the brush that lined the clearing and pulled Erionda close to him as they came out into the open. He needed her near. For both his nerves and sanity. He took a deep breath as he wrapped his arm around her waist, hugging her close to his side.

On the other side of the clearing, with their backs to them, stood his parents. They were deep in conversation and hadn’t noticed their son had shown up. He was about to clear his throat when his cousin came bounding around his mom and flew into his arms. “Kilian!” She squealed as he had no choice but to let his arm fall from around Erionda to catch his cousin. Nekane pulled back from him and looked him over. “It’s been so long.” She frowned and swat at his arm. “Why have you not visited?” Her gaze darted over to Erionda and her sockets widened as she took in Erionda’s horns. “Oh..” Was all that came out of her mouth as she let go of Kilian and backed up.

“Nekane...” Kilian mumbled as he looked past her and noticed his father’s eyes were glued on Erionda. A fierce look told Kilian that he knew what she was and was not happy about it. Kilian’s gaze shot to his mother. A worried look creased her face as she looked at her son. As soon as his hands were free again he had his fingers entwined with Erionda’s again. The contact gave him strength. “Kilian...is this the one who...” Nekane didn’t have a chance to finish what she was going to ask when she was cut off by his father’s booming voice.

“Is this her?” Itzal growled low in his throat as he stalked to the center of the clear. His hand had gone to the sword at his side and the look on his father’s face made Kilian’s muscles tense up. “Do you know what you’re doing?” He asked as his gaze locked onto Kilian. “I will not allow you to do this.” Kilian’s free hand shot up to his dagger as he father made a move towards them.

Erionda was shocked when Kilian pulled her with him into the clearing. She hadn’t been able to protest going with him immediately. He deserved time to reunite with his family before she intruded. Her eyes fled across the field where three Oblivionites stood. Her mismatched eyes drinking in the forms of each of them. Clearly far more seasoned in battle than she was. Would her father even have had a chance against them on his own? Blinking twice as the smaller of the Oblivionites moved forward. Realizing Kilians arm had dropped from around her, Erionda stepped out of the young girls way. She was sure friendly with Kilian. A sister? Was this the cousin? A lover perhaps? The last thought sent pangs of jealousy through her blood. Turning to see if the others had noticed Erionda’s eyes locked with the tallest. Her lips formed into a thin line.

Glancing towards Nekane as a single awareness was registered. The girl didn’t seem to be hopeful about Erionda’s presence which only made her glance back towards the two remaining. Her eyes darted back to Kilian as the father asked if she was the one. So he had spoken about her before to them? She watched as his hand flew to the sword at his waist. He looked like he was preparing to attack her. Glancing towards Kilian her heart froze in her chest. She would not let him fight his own father for her sake. She could defend herself, she refused to pull him into this. What if he turned around and regretted their relationship? He would forever be doomed by her love for him.

Shifting slightly Erionda moved behind Kilians back her hands resting on his twin daggers. Freezing them to their sheaths. Family was important, and she wasn’t going to let him throw his relationships away just because of her. Slipping quietly to the other side innocently, so as not to arouse Kilians suspicion Erionda stepped forward. If she wanted Kilian to survive this with everything intact she would have to take the blame. “It’s not his fault...” Erionda shouted. Her eyes locked on the man as he moved steadily closer. It was as if words were locking in her chest. Her heart beating relentlessly against her ribs.

Nekane had moved back towards her aunt’s side as Kilian’s father had stalked towards the due. The fear that was on his cousin’s face registered with Kilian the second he saw it. He should have known better than to think things could have gone right. His gaze shot back to his father as he closed in on the two of them. He was shocked when Erionda stepped forward. What was she doing? He reached for his daggers and cursed as he tried to pull them out of their sheaths. It was then that the cold at his back registered. His hand dropped from the hilt of his daggers as his gaze took in Erionda as he heard her speak up. “Rio...”

Kilian was cut off by his father’s curt voice. The man had stopped when Erionda had spoke, almost as if he was shocked that she had dared speak to him. “I care not whose fault it is, half breed.” The older Oblivionite’s wings flared out as his lips thinned. “I will solve the problem soon enough.” Kilian’s sockets widened at his father’s thread. Did he truly mean to carry it out? He had not known his father’s dislike of the hybrids ran so deep. He had never displayed ill will towards them around his family. Kilian gritted his teeth as he mentally kicked himself. He should have never set this up. Weapons or not, he was determined to protect her.

Itzal’s nostrils flared as he looked at his son. Obvious disgust marring his features. Kilian was seeing a side of his father that he never thought could have been there. “This won’t take long.” Itzal scoffed as his glare moved from Kilian to Erionda, his father raised his sword, reading to attack the hybrid girl standing in front of him. Kilain cursed aloud as he moved to try and intervene.

Erionda flinched inwardly at the words Kilians father vocalized. She was used to being called a half breed. It was a common name for her kind though not quite accurate in her case. She was more Dovaa than she was Orderite. “I’m not a problem to be solved.” Erionda muttered. Stepping towards Itzal protectively. What kind of a father would risk harm to his son? Reject him because of a simple choice? Her mismatched eyes watched as the larger Oblivionite drew closer. His blade raising to connect with her neck.

Narrowing her eyes, Erionda’s blue one shone as she jumped to the side. Narrowly missing the sword aimed at her. A part of her cloak fell away towards the ground. Her eyes flicking to Kilian warningly as she caught him trying to step forward. Did he intend to get in the middle of this? He could die if his fathers expression was any inclination of what he thought. “Don’t.” Erionda snapped as another strike was aimed her way. Leaping away as a fleck of blue and white connected with the blade. Stopping it before it could connect with her body. She smiled below the cloak, wondering how long it would take before he realized she was able to defend with her magic.

For now the attacks were aimed at her, she could deal with that. She had heard stories of the mixed loves provoking the kind of attack from a parent that ended in the lives of both lovers. As long as the attack’s only remained towards her she would do her best to withstand them. Maybe, just maybe he was testing her skills? While a slim part of her held out hope, everything else spoke that she was wrong. Clenching her fists as she blocked another strike, Erionda’s eyes grew wide as she found her body uncomfortably close to the large Oblivionite.

Kilian stopped in his tracks at Erionda’s command. The determination in both her eyes and her voice held him still in his place. it was a hard task, though. It took all he had to keep himself in that spot. His fists clenched at his sides as he watched his father attack Erionda. His gaze flicked briefly over to his mother and cousin. The pleading expression on his face was met with one of worry from Nekane and sadness from his mother. What did they think of this? Of Erionda? Everything? His gaze didn’t stay on them long before it was back on Erionda and his father.

Kilian flinched as one of his father’s attacks came awfully close to Erionda’s neck. Itzal growled with frustration. He reached out, intending to grab the hybrid’s neck but only connected with the fabric of her cloak. He jerked his arm back, ripping the cloak from around Erionda. His lips thinned even more as he took in Erionda’s full appearance.

“An Orderite hybrid.” Itzal spat out as his attention shifted from the hybrid to his son. “How could you do such a thing?” Kilian’s father closed his sockets briefly before opening them up again. He shifted his sword in his hands as he shot a look back at his wife. “I am sorry for this.” Itzal said as he shot off after Kilian, sword raised. Kilian’s sockets widened, shock coursing through him at what was happening.

Erionda swallowed nervously as the blade moved closer to her throat. Her breath hitched in her throat as she mentally pleaded for the blade not to come any closer. Time seemed to slow down as she tried to bend away from the sharp metal. A choking sound emerged as she felt her body yanked forward by the neck of her cloak. Flicking her finger up with an icelike blade Erionda cut herself free of the cloak. Stumbling back as she struggled to regain her balance. Aware that Kilians fathers eyes were completely on her now. Shivers rippled along her shoulders and spine. Had he thought she was only a Dovaa because of her horns? No, he had called her a hybrid. Then did that mean he was at the meeting if he knew what she was without seeing her face or hair? Even if that wasn’t the case, she supposed that thanks to the event word had traveled quickly. She was known by everyone. Hiding would be an impossible task, unless she relocated to Aisko. But what about Kilian?

As if on que the father’s attention turned towards his son. Erionda’s eyes grew wide as she took in the shift in his direction. Was he really going to attack Kilian? His own son? Erionda’s feet moved on their own her left hand reaching forward with her fingers spred wide. She had to stop him from attacking her beloved Oblivionite. It was her fault he was unable to withdraw his weapons and defend himself. Tears pooled in her eyes as she reached Kilian just as the father turned to apologize to the mother.

Fixing her body between father and son, her arms wrapping around Kilians chest as she buried her face in the crook of his neck. She couldn’t suffer watching a family slaughter themselves because she had appeared. Because she had chosen to love an Oblivionite. Closing her eyes as she tightened her arms around Kilian. Erionda pushed her magic into action. She could feel the large sword connect with ice. Shattering what she had formed of a shield. “Stop this! If all you want is for us not to be then I will go!” Erionda cried turning her head to level Itzal with a menacing glare. “But answer me this, what kind of father attacks his own son!? His own flesh and blood? Can one truly cause that much disgrace?”
PostPosted: Sat Nov 02, 2013 6:32 pm

“Rio!” Kilian breathed out as he was brought out of his trance like state. Her arms wrapping around him caused warmth to flood through his body and his muscles loosened. “Oh Rio.” HIs arms came around her, holding her close to his chest. He watched as his father’s attack hit the ice Erionda had formed around them. Flinching as his father cursed and jumped back away from the pair.

Kilian jerked at Erionda’s words. Leave? She would leave? He looked down at her face, the tears falling down her cheeks jerked at his heart. More so than the actions of his father. At the actions of his father, he had lost all respect for the man. Itzal’s nostrils flared yet again at Erionda’s words. How dare she talk like that to him. “This is not of your concern.” He said as he raised his sword again.

Itzal narrowed his sockets as he shot quickly towards his son, shoving the hybrid out of the way. Kilian didn’t have time to react before he was pinned to the trunk of a tree, his father’s sword at his neck, pressing into the soft flesh there. Kilian’s hands clawed at his fathers arm as his head moved slightly so that he could see Rio. He pleaded in his mind for her to run. To get out while his father was distracted. Curse him for bringing her into this.

“Itzal!” Nahia’s voice echoed through the forest as she stepped forward away from Nekane. Kilian’s sockets widened at his mother. “No...stay away.” He managed to get out with his father’s sword so close to his neck. “Please, Itzal he’s your son.” Kilian’s mother begged of her husband.

Itzal’s glared turned from Kilian to his wife. “Give me one reason. One good reason why I should not slit his throat right here and now for what he’s done. For what he...plans to do with this half breed.” He turned back to Kilian, pressing the knife closer to his throat, causing Kilian to half to hold his breath for fear of nicking himself on the blade.

Erionda’s eyes danced between the mother and father. “Are you seriously going to kill him, all because I love him!?” Erionda shouted. Rage laced her voice like a spider clenching her fists together, Erionda bolted forward. Wish Itzal currently distracted from the women's pleading now was as good a time as any to shove him away from Kilian. Tightening up her shoulder Erionda felt her body connect with the larger man. Could feel part of him give way to her attack. Hear the sound of fabric tear as the blade severed through the black cloth around Kilians neck.

Fear instantly directed Erionda’s movements. Shifting she moved both her hands under the large Oblivionites arm. Lifting his sword away from Kilian as she moved once again between them. Her entire body shook with the effort of keeping Itzal’s arm and blade in the air. Leaving her body wide open for attack. It was all she could think of to keep him from Killing Kilian. Her eyebrows stitched together as words sunk in. What did Itzal mean by ‘plans to do with her’? Was there more to them than just a simple like? Did his own feelings really stretch beyond that?

Her eyes narrowed as she glared up at the large man. She wanted so much to use her magic to freeze his arm. To disable him, but knew better. He was Kilians father, and must be a proud warrior if the very thought of her loving Kilian sent rage through them as if he had disgraced the entire family. Clenching her teeth firmly Erionda relaxed her grip on Itzal’s arm.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 02, 2013 6:37 pm

Erionda’s words pierced through his heart like a spike. She loved him? His sockets widened as she ran at his father, bashing into him and sending both him and her flying through the air. Kilian sucked in a breath as his father’s sword came dangerously close to slicing deep into his throat. As it was, Kilian felt the warmth of blood trickle down his skin. Not enough to worry about it now.

Kilian’s gaze shot to his mother as a gasp could be heard. Nahia’s hands covered her mouth as she looked at her husband and Erionda on the ground. Nekane went to step forward, intending to do something. What, she didn’t know. She was tired of standing back and watching things happen. What her uncle was trying to do was not right. She gritted her teeth as her aunt’s hand flew out. “Do not interfere.” She said as her gaze shot to Kilian.

Kilian’s father grunted with the impact of the ground, the breath being knocked out of him temporarily. He had underestimated the hybrid and her strength. He could feel the magic from her coursing through the air, vying to be released. Why she held back, he did not know. His temper flared as she relaxed her grip. “Why do you relax when you’ve not beaten me yet?” Itzal took hold of Erionda’s wrist as he rose up from the ground. His grip tightened as he reached his arm back, intending to strike her.

Kilian reached back and gripped on of his daggers, pulling with all his strength. The ice broke away and he was on his father, the dagger at the man’s throat before he even had a chance to lay a hand on Erionda. “Touch her and you die old man.” Kilian gritted through his clenched teeth. “I will not let you harm her.” Kilian brought his free fist back and brought it forward with as much strength as he could muster. The punch connected with his father’s face at the same time he brought his blade back away from his neck. He did not want to injure him anymore than he had to. His arms instantly reached out for Erionda, bringing her close to him.

“Because you’re Kilians father aren’t you? What good would it do me to harm you? He means the world to me. Hurting you would deal far more pain to him that it clearly would to you.” Groaning as he felt the strength of his hand on her wrist all Erionda could do was look up at the blade she was sure would end her life there. Closing her eyes Erionda sucked in a deep breath. Salty tears streaked the side of her cheeks as they escaped the corners of her eyes. So she was going to die here. For loving her Oblivionite. The sound of movement around her forced Erionda’s eyes tighter. Her body bracing for the pain that would surely come. She did not expect Kilians voice to be floating above her.

Her eyes followed Kilians fist. No, her mind screamed as she tried to reach out in order to stop him. This was his father, it wasn’t right to harm such a gift. Wincing as Kilians fist connected with Itzals. She could feel the large man's grip on her wrist weaken. Before she had the chance to pull away Kilians arms were pulling her towards him. Instinctively reacting, Erionda’s arms moved around Kilian as she buried her face in his chest once again. His scent was strong and comforting, his heartbeat pulsing against his chest only made her arms tighten around him. “I’m sorry. This is all my fault.” Erionda muttered so Kilian could hear. “I’ve done nothing but divide your family. I couldn’t be more sorry.”
