Ada was born, and her mother soon passed. She never met the woman who had so taken her father's heart, who is claimed to have been very excited for her first child. They say that she was kind and compassionate, and fairly talented at hedgewitchery. Ada was raised then half by her father, who grieved for years, and by her grandmother who her daughter in the little blonde child. Being a hedgewitch ran through the women in the Fulcher family, but Ada's father was not fond of her teachings. His daughter should be normal, not turned to ridiculous ancient religion. He had been unaware of his own wife's talents. Still, Rowena persevered and helped Ada to develop her skills. When Ada was eleven, her father remarried to a woman he had met while supervising work at an Oldcastle mill. She then gave birth to three more children whom Ada loved, but her step-mother was less interested. The autumnal equinox following her brother's birth, Ada came to forge a friendship with a strange young fox. In time, even her father turned against the "odd daughter" whom had killed his first wife, leaving Ada to her grandmother. This new life began with sadness, but grew to fulfilling joy and knowledge. Ada grew into a strong young woman with a love for the world who had very little to do with her father's new family. When she was seventeen years old, her grandmother passed away, leaving a substantial inheritance for young Ada. The girl moved to Palisade then, wanting to escape her old life and the pain that remained in Oldcastle. She worked in a mill for a time until, with the help of a friend of her grandmother's, she was able to establish herself as a learned healer and midwife. She can get in and out without much fuss, after all, with Somnus at her side. Ada operates her shop out of the front room of her home, and has begun to sell healing herbs and the like now that hedgewitches are less condemned in society. Still, house calls are her most common form of business, and she enjoys the help that she offers.
Although there was a fair amount of sorrow in Ada's life, she tries to not let it get to her everyday life. She lives with great reverence for nature and for spirits, but also for her fellow human beings. She uses many natural remedies and helpers with her natural healing powers, and most often has Somnus by her side. She is soft and kind, although not particularly likely to start a conversation. Her world is separate from that of most men, but she is not so removed to completely avoid humanity. Ada very much enjoys festivals and celebrations, and dreams some day of her own lover and family. She also has a deep respect for death with no regard for fear or dread. She believes that everyone deserves a second chance and is not one to judge based upon the past, but does not appreciate liars, thieves or traitors. If your second chance has proved undeserved, or if you arrive as an absolute enemy, she has no issue getting angry or even getting even.

personality She is a mysterious creature to those she doesn't know, generally just watching with her intelligent eyes. She sometimes chats at night or when bored, but otherwise is content to observe the world. Her one great attachment is to Ada, but she will accept some affection from strangers if she is not alone. Strangers as a whole are treated with caution, and those with a negative feel about them get nothing at all. Anyone considered an enemy will hear the angry shrieks of a vixen, and see or feel her sharp fangs. She does sometimes wander to collect supplies and will wander on moonlight nights, but this is the only real time she spends away from Ada
