Crunch Crunch Crunch..

A peculiar habit had formed for Avior when he went about his nightly routine. Ever since his last encounter with the kind Negaverse Lieutenant, Titanlåvenite, he started to bring snacks with him, wanting to share with whomever he met. Whether they be Negaversers, Dark Mirror Senshi, Knights, or other White Mooners, everyone was welcome to and chat with him. It would not be all that far-fetched to say that the boy's goal had become to simply be at peace. There were always ones who would attack him faster than he could speak, and the boy had come to accept that. Soon enough, there would be no reason for him to be scared..

Still, even with his old routine abandoned, he still found himself returning to places that meant something to him. And once again, tonight, he found himself atop of the Blockbuster where he had once met his dear friend for the first time. The thought often crossed his mind, how would he talk to his dearly beloved friend when he changed..? Would they still be able to friends? To hang out and watch terrible movies? To sit close to one another while they told stories? He had yet to figure something like that out, it would take time.. For now, he'd sit here, dipping into his reservoir of cookies every now and then, looking out at the city below.

He didn't feel worthy of his promotion, but Super Sailor Vespa wasn't going to openly question his superior officers. When he was called into the Rift by General Mica, he was fully expecting to be punished for his past failures. He didn't hear of her report, nor had he realized that she had been compiling a report on him, but the moment she brought him into a place where he was never allowed to go on his own, he knew that something big was going to happen. And, to his surprise, it was a promotion, but with a warning.

He needed to do better. Not just for the Negaverse, but for Destiny City. For Earth. The Negaverse could no longer tolerate any failures, and the fact that he was being given a second chance, despite falling short of his quota, despite not having a single starseed to his name, showed Vespa just how kind, and desperate, the Negaverse was. To keep a failure like him, it made him realize that they needed all the help they could get, and that meant that the threat that the White Moon Court posed was far greater than he original thought. It was a jarring experience for him, one that he felt he didn't deserve but certainly would not squander the chance to get into the Negaverse's good graces again.

Which meant he needed to be more diligent. More active, more willing to fight, whoever and whatever opposed him or the Negaverse. With his shade taken care of, Vespa had little fear as he took the streets, getting used to his newfound strength and powers as he moved about a familiar section of the city. Like the senshi he was about to run into, he held a fond memory of the video store, though only as a civilian. Vespa, on the other hand, was not too pleased to feel a familiar aura spike on his radar, and the sight of the Super Senshi of Walls eating cookies was ineffective on Vespa's dropping his guard. "You? Again?! Why do you keep hanging around here when you know this is my grounds to watch?"

"That's a good question." Why WAS he here again? Avior pondered the thought a moment, taking another bite of the cookie that he had held onto and having yet to look up at the voice. Certainly it was the thought of is dear friend that brought him here, but it wasn't as if he'd speak to this crazy one again. Without even looking at him he could recognize the voice and the aura that this one held, though there was a peculiar new strength that was with it.

"Maybe I came here, hoping to see you again, to confess my undying love and affections to you and how I wish to have some sort of 'forbidden love' across factions. But if that WERE the case, then I probably would have just waited until I finally went to chaos and then you WOULDN'T attack me." Ah, the lamentations of a world weary Senshi weren't the most interesting thing in the world. And he highly doubted that the other even really wanted to listen.

"I think I told you last time this place was important to me.are you here to get beat d--?" Finally looking up, his mouth dropped slightly, stopping him mid sentence. Vespa had changed! He could say he was impressed, to say the least! And here he thought the little bee was going to stay the same forever.

"Well, would you look at that! You've gotten stronger, haven't you! I can say I'm almost jealous about that sash and theme you got going there. It's kinda obvious that you have something to do with bees or bugs or something. Not like mine, not like this garbage I'm wearing. For all you know, I could be the Senshi of baked goods. Speaking of which, do you REALLY want to fight, or would you like to take a moment to just breathe. Relax, and gaze up at the dim sky above us? I'd actually liked to ask you more questions about the Negaverse, if you could spare the time. I'll actually be living with one soon enough." Even though he was going to join the Dark Mirror Court, it seemed that no one really had room for him. It was kinda funny, going to one organization, just to be housed by another. But that was what he found to be amazing with the Dark Mirror Court. Being on such a side left him so much less likely to be hit. And having recovered just recently from a broken arm, Avior could definitely appreciate that.

Vespa was ready for a fight, as always, and he wanted nothing more than to just drop the whole notion of chatting and just charge at his enemy. He was given a second chance and more power, and he was hoping to put all of that to good use, and while he was aware of this one's future plans, the fact remained that he was still a Senshi of the White Moon. He was still his enemy, and Vespa would treat him as such.

And yet, how was it that Avior always found a way to stop him dead in his tracks? He came to a grinding halt when Avior mentioned his 'what-if' scenario, and Vespa was quick to make a face and turn the notion down, even if it was pure sarcasm or meant to be taken as a joke. "Uh, even if we were on the same sides, no... I'm not really into that." Then, he felt the need to apologize, in case he was being serious, though he wasn't quite sure why he apologized. "Sorry... I like women."

As much as he could, given how jittery and nervous he got around members of the opposite sex. His mind went places he wasn't quite ready for, and his subconscious was able to bring up a recent endeavor that forced a blush on his cheeks before he shook his head and the image away, and just in time to notice that he had caught Avior's attention with his recent promotion. It wasn't often when Vespa got smug, though for a good reason as he was certain that he was setting himself up for an epic backfire soon. "Hmph, the Negaverse felt I was worthy of a promotion, and I'd never question their judgment. So, I must have been doing something right to earn this."

Not that he knew what, and not that he'd ever admit it to Avior. He wasn't sure what to make of the senshi putting himself down like that and he fought his initial instinct to try and persuade him otherwise. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with his outfit and it wasn't as though he had control over that, but he managed to stop himself. He couldn't afford to have such idle chit-chats with the enemy, even ones who would soon be their ally. Instead, he tried to use that to his advantage, and though his voice was soft, he meant every word. "Maybe you'll look better when you're with the Dark Mirror Court? Maybe... never seen one, but I heard they look nice. Oh, and it's Wasps. I'm the Senshi of Wasps."

His offer for cookies was a tempting one indeed, but Vespa held strong, or at least tried to. It spared Avior from an immediate attack, at least, though given their last encounter, it was a matter of how long it would take for Vespa to snap before they were at each other's throats again. "I'm not sure I'm allowed to tell you a lot about the Negaverse... especially with you being a member of the White Moon Court, who's switching over to another court. Even if that other court is our allies, it just seems like a bad idea. Okay, sorry, I misinformed you, they're not really our allies, per say, just... someone we're not ordered to attack. It's complicated, and they never went into detail, but we're not really allies anymore. Just... not enemies either?"

"Ah, my heart.. That would be the third time in such a short while that my heart has been broken. I think I may just fall in love far too quickly. Please, forgive me." If the boy before him couldn't seem to understand that what he was saying was a joke, then it was time to play it up. From what Avior could tell, the one before him was, indeed, quite handsome. Even if such things could not ever be.. There was still fanfiction.

"I must say, I'm proud of you too. I was starting to think that you would be at the same level forever. I do hope you've begun to think a little more rationally, and when you fight, you don't try to inadvertently end your life as well. I can Honestly say that I don't want you to die. Or get hurt in any way." Why did he feel so drained all of a sudden? There was no way he could be so tired, unless he was going through a sugar crash. Yes, that certainly could have been a possibility. Half a pack of Chips Ahoy could do that.

Raising from his seat ontop of a pipe and setting the pack of cookies to the side, he gave a bit of a turn, trying to get a good look at himself. The bruising on his face from his battle with Realgar had finally started fading, and his arm was no longer broken, even though it had been such a short time. Even if such a thing was baffling to him, he was glad for it. Yet that tired feeling, he just could not shake it off. Still, he smiled at Vespa, a tired and soft smile, his darkened eyes covered by the thick glasses he wore.

"Do you really think so? The Dark Mirror Senshi that I've met where all so stunning, I could only hope to meet up to their standards. Haha.. It seems more and more I feel filthy still being stuck in this form. But there's nothing I can do, not yet. There was too much to do.. And now I must wait for the leaders to have time for me. I'd rather be allies, you know, but I can settle with being Neutral. The One who is taking me in is so kind.. I sometimes wonder if I'm making the right choice in going with the DMC. Then, I think of my prince, of my dear friend Celemorrow who helped me and my planet when no one else would." Now that was an interesting thought..

"Would you like to see my home, Vespa? My home world that was destroyed by another senshi who was blinded by greed and anger? Even for a quick visit.. Maybe it would be interesting for you to see what the White Moon senshi are capable of doing, of destroying.. And then maybe you could understand just how ready I am to leave them behind."

This will be a one time offer, since once he defects he won't be able to go back to Avior! biggrin

Had Vespa known that Avior was joking, he might have assumed that he was openly mocking him, and in which case, a fight between the two would have definitely been inevitable, so it was for the best that the joking gesture flew over his head. His smile was a small and nervous one, but a smile, which given their last encounter, was leaps and bounds in improvement for Vespa. "Nothing really to forgive. 'Sides, there's a lot better out there than me. You're a fool, but not that big a fool, I think."

He truly meant that as a compliment, even if he couldn't articulate it well. Avior was supposedly well on his way to joining the Dark Mirror Court, so surely he couldnb't be that foolish, Vespa thought. His compliments and congratulations may have confused him, but for someone that didn't receive such luxuries often, it was enlightening and a little unsettling. When he received compliments as Scott, that usually meant they wanted him to do something... what would it mean for Vespa? Unable to cope with how he should be handling the comments, Vespa just sort of went silent for a moment, glancing about this away and that just to make absolutely certain that no one else was there besides themselves. "T-thanks. Though how pathetic am I to accept praise from the enemy... or does that make you weird for complimenting you enemy? Uh, whatever... thanks."

He hated himself for being so damn awkward, and it got even more weird when Avior expressed his concerns so? Some of his vigor returned, but not the overly aggressive kind, as he tried to explain. "And you shouldn't worry about that. My life already belongs to the Negaverse... just like yours will when you go to the Dark Mirror Court. That's just how it is. We're soldiers... we're meant to give our lives for our cause, whatever they may be."

From this angle, it was easy to see his counterpart's recovering injuries, and he didn't mean to wince when Avior turned and smiled at him. He didn't want to feel any pity for his enemy, but it was just hard when it came to this one. Maybe it was out of pity that he allowed him continue talking about the Dark Mirror Court and not seek to interrupt, even when the opportunity to strike was clearly present. He said leaders and behind the visor, Vespa's blonde brow arched with intrigue. Leaders? Did they not just have a Queen? Had something changed? Vespa was curious, but didn't interrupt, though the bit about his 'prince' threw him off for a second. Or maybe it was the other factoid he dropped, and the offer that came with it, and Vespa's green eyes went wide and his voice was shrilled, though not with anger or rage, but genuine surprise. "I... I take back what I said! You're more than a fool! Take me to your planet? Do you have any idea how... how... uh..."

Awesome. The word he immediately wanted to use was awesome. But as tempting as it was, he couldn't just go to space, to visit a planet, a White Moon Senshi's planet.

Could he?

"How quick a visit are we talking about?"

"I am a fool, and I am peculiar, strange even. But I rather love myself, for the most part. I do not like the part of me that was forced upon me, but that will change soon, and then I can love myself completely. Maybe when that happens, I won't be so quick to let my heart be broken again." As serious as he sounded, he couldn't help but grin at Vespa, for the other still seemed to not understand that it was a joke. But ah well, it was more entertaining for him, this way.

"Idea how what? It's not as if I'm hiding anything. And it's not as if it's an entirely beautiful place to visit. It's just a glimpse of a world that once was. The visit could be for as long or as little as you'd like. Time doesn't exactly change when we leave here for there. It could be minutes to hours if you'd like."

ChibiGingi
If you ARE interested in him going there, there's this little piece right here that is as detailed of a writing piece as I have of how his world looks like, and how he ventured to it for the first time!

If that's a bit too long of a read, think of something like Attack on Titan, with walls 600m Tall, broken in places, and more Ancient Syria themed with copper color all around! It's also deserted, and there are signs of an ocean on the non-city side of the wall, but it's completely dried up.

Vespa moved closer to Avior but he never rose his fists or looked as though he was going to summon his magic at any point. Behind his visor, his green eyes held various emotions, all of which competing with one another for dominance in his mind. He felt suspicion that anyone would offer him such a chance after openly admitting their own folly, but that should have made Avior all the more trustworthy, right? He felt excitement, because going into space was something that the Negaverse nor the Dark Mirror Court could do. He felt fear in what he might find, yet his curiosity could not be appeased with a mere description. What of his own home? Was it like Alkaid said and surrendered to Chaos? Did he even have a home world off this planet and the Negaverse anymore?

The blonde chewed on his inner cheek in thought, as he stood a mere foot away from Avior, and giving one last glance around them, he finally gave his answer. "Alright. We'll go... but you have to promise me that you won't tell anyone about it. You can't tell the Negaverse, or the Dark Mirror Court, and especially not the White Moon Court. If they find out, that might put us both in trouble, and I got enough of that on my own!"

Then, not wanting Avior to think that he had completely ignored his earlier statements, Vespa added, in a rather meek and begrudging manner. "Um, about the fool part. I still think you're one, but I don't really mean it in a harsh way. I'm a fool too... maybe a bigger fool than you are. Just don't beat yourself up over it too much, okay?"

He was certain that he was the worst agent in the Negaverse, if not the worst, then certainly one of them. And this only proved it... but he could not think to pass up a chance like this.

When Vespa came closer, he did not move away, holding his ground, yet still smiling. Was the other really going to come with him? Would he be prepared to see all the bodies..? To endure the heat that engulfed Avior due to it's past wars? It would be too late to simply hold back now, and a part of him was excited to go back there, to have someone actually see his world, another senshi who's world could have been just like his own, destroyed and left to die..

"It's alright, Vespa. I am a fool, as is everyone else. Because what makes someone a fool is different to everyone.. There's no solid definition of it. But I've reached that point of self actualization that I just can't be bothered to care too much about what other people may think about me. After all, if I do what I think is best, and it works.. Then what else can people do but accept it." With the aggrement that Vespa would join him, he reached into his pocket, pulling out his rather ridiculous senshi phone, prepared to travel.

"Take my hand, okay? Hold my shoulder.. Just some sort of contact, and we can go off."

ChibiGingi
PostPosted: Fri Nov 08, 2013 12:26 pm

Vespa knew that what he was doing was risky and likely to get him in trouble, but it was not as though anyone in the Negaverse told him not to try this. He had heard whispers among others of the desire to reach space, and if there was a way that he could obtain this knowledge for the Negaverse to use later, then was it not worth the risk?

"I really should ask permission from a superior first, but... it's better to beg forgiveness than to ask permission, right?" Vespa said to Avior, giving the matter one last thought before finally giving into the temptation. He had to do something to aid the Negaverse, and this one was going to change sides anyways, so where would the harm be in accompanying him? There was much he could learn, and that kind of opportunity, one would be the biggest fool in the world to pass up! "Alright. We'll go. Two fools... wouldn't be the first time they sent monkeys into space, right?"

He did as he was told, reaching for his hand but stopping himself before any contact was made, then grabbed at his shoulder instead. Something about holding another's hand would have been too embarrassing for him, and while Avior might not have cared, Vespa was just too self-conscious and didn't want to risk making things too awkward, for either himself or his... whatever he was considered. Friend? Future co-worker? Companion? The matter would likely linger within the Wasp senshi's mind for awhile, as he looked at the device Avior pulled out and asked, "Is that a cellphone? How's that going to get us into space?"

"I don't know too much about that.. But If you think that's best, then we should head out, before it gets too late. I'd rather think of us as adventurers, not monkeys, as they can be foolish as well." Despite Vespa avoiding his hand, even after it had made contact with his shoulder, Avior placed his own ontop, making sure it was firmly there. "You'll see, my friend."

In what seemed like a mere instant, their eyes opened to find that the world before them had changed. No longer were they gazing out into the darkness that was the rooftop of the Blockbusters in Destiny City, but at the vine-covered walls of the very temple that Avior arrived in on his first visit. Though this time, he was not laying down. A vague thought passed across his mind, wondering if the reason why was because he had someone with him.

"I'd say.. 'Welcome to Avior', but this.. It isn't the most pleasant place to be.."

"Fine, adventurers... doesn't change the fact that what we're doing is incredibly risky for either side!" Vespa insisted with an annoyed huff, wanting for the two to get going before anyone else showed up and tried to stop them. This could have still been a clever ruse, despite Avior's genuine nature, but he'd be damned if he wasn't the least bit curious. And that curiosity won out, and the victory was worth it, even when he instictively winced at Avior's touch, and what he said. "And... still a little too early for that. Maybe once you're in the Dark Mirror Court, I'm allowed to call you that. For now, we're just acquaintances..."

He knew he was coming across as harsh and cold, but it was not just his own safety, but for Avior's as well. And it wasn't just in fear of what the Negaverse would do to both of them, but what the White Moon Court would do to Avior if they saw him befriending the enemy, or knew of his eventual defection. Would they kill him? Would they try to brainwash him or trick him into staying? Vespa knew he couldn't bring Avior over to the Negaverse and that the Dark Mirror Court was simply the best option for him, but he didn't want something happening to Avior before he had the chance and it be his fault.

Whether it was his bleeding conscious or genuine feelings of affection for the senshi were unclear to Vespa and the thought was pushed to the back of his mind when he suddenly found himself... well, not in Destiny City at all! No, this was certainly not Destiny City, and this was definitely not Earth, but there was no sense of panic or fear that overwhelmed Vespa. Instead, it was surprise and bewilderment, and while it might not have been the most beautiful of sights, Vespa could not hold in his excitement as he pulled away from Avior and scuffled around the wall they were on top of, green eyes wide with amazement and mouth gaping open.

No amount of sci-fi flicks could have prepared him for this, and no amount of special effects could think to match such an environment, and Vespa looked to Avior, struggling with words but simply too dumbfounded that he was only a completely different planet right now to notice the scenery around them, nor the horrific story the world told. It would hit him with time, but for now, all Vespa could do was stutter. "Woah... I'm on a different planet. I am on... a different planet. We're on a planet, right? Or is this a star? A constellation? I don't... even know..."

Avior spoke no more until they had reached his planet, but that didn't stop his mind from thinking about that term, Acquaintances. Sure, Planet Avior was destroyed, but that didn't mean that he wasn't somewhat connected to it. It was so special to him, even if the very thought of the place almost broke his heart. He had heard that some senshi still had beautiful homes, covered in green and blue, or trees as tall as the skies itself, then there was his planet, dried up and colored copper. Maybe there was one time that this place was as beautiful as the others, as evident by the ships stranded on a dried oceanbed on the outside of the city's walls, but not more.

Broken from his musings by Vespa's movement away from him, he could not help but chuckle at the other's excitement as he walked around atop the crumbling six hundred meter wall. The houses below, on the inside looked like tiny little lego blocks, and luckily from this height the bodies that lined the city could not be seen. The time would come when Vespa would witness exactly what happened to this place, for now, let him enjoy this place as he could not.

"This is planet Avior, under the domain of the Star Avior. I think it was somewhat like Earth, except entirely copper colored, like the Grand canyon. There was once a vast ocean over there, where the ships are.. "

Had he been able to pull himself away from his excitement, Vespa would have noticed the turmoil churning within the White Moon Senshi's form and he would have immediately apologized for it. After all, he was brought here to be taught a lesson, and that lesson was quick to be forgotten when he found himself standing on a distant planet, a planet not at all like Earth. Why the hell would White Moon Senshi want to stay on Earth when they could live in their homeworlds?

That thought, however, was soon addressed when he took a closer look around, taking in the copper walls, the derelict ships and houses below them, and the dried up ocean bed that seemed to stretch on through eternity. His excitement was rapidly fading, and it was being replaced with confusion, and of course, an edge of fear that was evident in his voice as he spoke to Avior, unable to keep his thoughts from breaking past his filter. "Oceans don't just dry up on their own, though... that's not possible, is it?"

To question the possibility of that when he and Avior were standing on another planet entirely without the use of a rocket ship just seemed rather silly, so he retracted the statement, and he peered down from atop the wall, unable to see what true horrors lied at the bottom, and perhaps for the best for now. "What happened here? Do you know?"

"As far as I know, it's not possible, not unless your star suddenly becomes far closer to your planet than it was before. However, that is not the case." He knew that reality would hit his companion soon, but he had not realized it would have come so quickly. It was time to go down to the ground now, to show him that this was not the worst.

"Come on, follow me.." A large staircase was off to the side of the interior of the wall, and Avior began to lead Vespa down to the ground level, down to where the dust figures of his people still remained. Each face, frozen in time from the sudden attack of his planet, and each holding a bright, out of place flower at the base of their neck.

"My Visions come and go of this place.. That's how I know what it was once like here, and how strong and happy my people were." Avior began, one hand up against the wall for balance. Normally, he would have just jumped off the wall, using his own to lessen any fall damage he could have received from such a stunt, but Vespa didn't have that sort of power. Nor could he expect the blonde boy to trust him enough to save him if he jumped. It was alright, in all honesty, he wasn't sure if he could trust himself while on this planet..

"There's a palace towards the far side of the wall, and it was boarded up when I was exploring it the first time. The palace knew what was coming, but the common folk never had time to prepare. In the deepest, darkest reaches of the palace, down a stairwell that ran as deep down as the wall is tall, there was a room full of these huge, black tablet things. I don't know what to call them, but they seemed to have a history of this place carved into them. Think of... Maybe stained glass windows in a church, but in stone, in very amazing detail. And the last one I found made, there was a corpse below it, it was like he died trying to draw out what happened, had a picture of another senshi, clad in white and holding horn of some sort, and a plant sticking out of of his pocket or pouch or something, standing through one of the broken cracks in the wall. I'm thinking.. Maybe whoever that Senshi was brought in some soft of plant from their own planet, something capable of sucking up any last drop of water from a source, so that could explain the ocean.. And how the people here ended up the way they are.. And the horn could have been one that could break through this wall.. You know, like that old story about the walls of Jericho.. Who knows, that tale could have been based off of what happened here.. It's not like I can read any of the text found here.."

Upon reaching the bottom of the staircase they stood before a man. A very tall man, a soldier of sorts, his clothing reminiscent of those worn by the dwarves in some movies that had come out recently. Heavy fabric, and well worn. He held no fear in his expression, only the neutral straight forward look of a man who was doing his duty when disaster struck. There was evidence of his body crumbling, like a piece of wet sand that had fallen from a child's tower, and his flesh was grey and ashen like. The only color came from the flower that rested so neatly on the back of his neck, blooming a vibrant yellow as if nothing in this world was wrong. The man was long dead, a thousand years trapped within these dilapidated walls and forced to remain so accurate a figure that any artist back on earth would be jealous of such detail.

"But what kind of plant, what kind of person could do such a thing to these people.." Avior reached out to the dust-like figure before him, pressing a finger to his shoulder, pushing every so slightly, and watching him instantly crumble down to the ground finally freed from his prison. Without hesitation, a heel came down onto the flower, grinding it into the stone pavement of the ground below them, tearing at each and every petal it held until nothing was left except fragments of fragments of petals.

"Some greedy planet saw this place, and wanted it for it's own. They killed every last person in the city that they could find, but in a way that no one could stop it. No one could be saved. Nothing could be done.. All over this city are people like him, forced to remain here for all eternity as these statues.. Everyone was just going about their daily business.. And some Senshi, not a senshi clad in black, or a senshi with some sort of sign to chaos.. A so called 'white moon' senshi did this! What could we have done do deserve such a thing." His own little eternity passed, stairing at the dust pile that had once been a guard of Avior, a minor memory flashed between his eyes, of the soldier playing with kids in the area, then being scolded to go back to work..
