Azriel gritted his teeth and kept up a smile, though it was a pained one. He knew the men that were carrying him were doing their best not to jostle him, but they couldn't help it. The tiniest movement sent pain searing through him. Behind them, he could hear the young boy that he had saved asking for the millionth time if he was alright. The kid had been pulling one of the heavy loads up to the higher levels of the forge when the rope snapped. Az had seen the load coming straight for the kid and had managed to tackle him out of the way. Unfortunately, his foot had not been so lucky.

Feeling a little woozy, he was grateful when they finally came to a stop. He had no idea where they had taken him, all he knew was that it was getting difficult to keep his eyes open against the pain and the kid's fussing was not doing much to make it go away.

A witch was what some of them called her, though really she would not use a word with such negative connotations. She was a doctor, one who used what the earth had to offer and perhaps a little god given gift to help things along. She certainly didn't look like a witch, she dressed smartly and kept a neat home. A shack in among the makeshift refugee homes. It was clean and tidy with herbs and plants growing in planters both inside and outside. She had a small kitchen and living area, her bedroom, which was really just a handmade matress and coverings but still looked tidy and the larger room which she used as a treatment room.

She was sat at her kitchen table working on a new stock of medicine for colds when Luna and Sol's ears perked up. Sol, the male of the pair stood and wandered over to her door, giving a loud bark as he reached it.

Talia left her work and stood, walking over to the door, well a customer she thought, pulling the door open and raising an eyebrow as she watched the man being carried towards her.
"This way." She said, gesturing for them to bring him into her treatment room, it was light and airy, with a door that opened out onto her small garden. There was a bed in there and shelves and cupboards of curiosities.
"What happened to him?" She asked, sliding her glasses from her chestnut brown hair to rest on her nose.

"We were working on the forge and a rope snapped. He pushed me out of the way," Abel, the young man that had been saved, replied as he worried his hands together and watched his savior seem to go limp. "The load fell on him."

Az could hear the boy's voice again, though he was more interested in the feminine one.
"My foot," he managed and struggled to sit up so he could see who they had brought him to.

Lia nodded in understanding and looked to his leg where blood had seeped onto his trousers.
"What's your name?" She asked gently, as she always did when meeting a patient. She moved to roll up his trouser leg gently, she could see very clearly that the ankle was broken, the bone had pierced the skin.

"Azriel. His name's Azriel," Abel interjected and then leaned over to see the damage. When he did, his face when an interesting shade of grey.

Az gave a slightly irritated sigh and glanced towards the boy. He wasn't unconscious yet. He could still speak for himself, he thought with a bit of irritation. He turned his eyes back to the woman and gave her a bit of a lopsided smile. Perhaps it was his blurred vision, but she was rather pretty he thought.
"What's yours?" he managed and did his best to keep his eyes away from his injury. He hadn't much cared for the expression on the boy's face when he had seen it.

Talia looked at the boy and smirked a little.
"I wanted him to answer." She turned her bright green eyes back to the man.
"I'm Talia." She replied, walking across the room to grab a bottle of clear liquid. "Now, I want everyone out please." She smiled at Azriel. "Azriel I am going to make you sleep for a while. Your ankle is badly broken and I need to re-set it."

Az smirked as the boy mumbled an apology and he relaxed back as she gave him her name. Talia. He liked that, he decided. It sounded nice inside his head. As she ushered everyone out, he smiled again. He was grateful for that. He hated people seeing him weak and he was definitely at a weak moment right now.
"Okay. As long as you don't take it from me," he smirked lightly and watched her move about. It was much easier to ignore the pain when he focused on her.

Talia laughed at that.
"Well, I am not going to lie, it's a serious injury and we are limited in what we can do now but I will do all I can to get you back to normal." She took a cloth and dabbed some of the liquid on it.
"I'm going to put this over your mouth and nose, not tightly, just breathe and it will put you into a deep sleep."

Az gave a slightly nervous laugh at her words, but he nodded his understanding. As she put the cloth over his mouth and nose, he half wondered if Industry should be contacted about this. Well, it wasn't like he could do much in this instance, so he closed his eyes and relaxed as he waited for the drug to do as she had promised.

Talia hadn't always been a witch, she hadn't always been into natural remedies. In the time before she had trained in a state of the art hospital with all that science and technology could afford. When the world had begun to collapse she had been drafted into the military and worked as a front line medic until things had gotten worse, chaos, running for your life. As society dissolved she looked into the alternative ways to cure, ways that had been left behind thousands of years before her birth. Many thought them primitive, but how could they be when ... after all the advances had failed they still worked.

It took her a couple of hours to finish sorting the bone out, she had managed to pin it and fix the tendons and muscles. When she was done she closed the wound and cleaned it up. He would be off his feet for a good while, she thought. Bandaging the wound and pulling up a chair to wait for him to wake.

It was a good while before Az finally began to rouse. When he did, he felt a little foggy and his head hurt just a little bit. Groaning a little, he cracked an eye and tried to remember where he was. It was definitely not somewhere familiar. The space was far too airy and organized to be his home. Hadn't there been a woman? He wasn't a hundred percent sure as he roused more fully.

Talia stood as she noticed him stir and walked over to his side.
"Hello Azriel." She said with a kind smile, placing a hand on his forehead to check his temperature. "Do you remember my name?"

Azriel blinked as the face came into view above him. So there was a woman, he thought with a bit of a lazy smile.
"Talia," he replied softly. How could he forget a name like that? "Did you have to take it?" he asked as a joke, though he was honestly concerned.

"Well done." She stepped back a bit. "Nope, I didn't fancy it so I fixed it all up for you. I am going to keep you here for a few days, to monitor the healing. After that you will be able to leave though you must follow any instructions I give you if you want full use of it."

Az gave a bit of a laugh and then frowned as it made his head pound a bit.
"How long am I going to be off my feet?" he asked as he struggled a bit to sit up on his arms so he could see how she had wrapped his foot up. "I need to be at work," he frowned a bit and glanced up at her.
