Karayan found that he didn't really like hunting as much when he was alone. It was just... dull. The battles that were fought when the Orderite boy was about, now those were fun, even if Madryn Col could be a bit of a stick in the mud at times. It was just how the guy was and it was something that he would just have to put up with so long as he continued to be the other boy's friend. He couldn't worry about that though, not when he found himself with the task that was facing off again the Kiandri dragons once more, something that his Grannie wished him to do. It seemed that, while it was an accomplishment that he'd come back with some of their orbs, that it wasn't as spectacular a feat when he'd had a lot of help. If he wanted to prove himself as a powerful Dovaa it would seem that he not only had to face off against dragons but he had to do so without the help of others. How could he be a hero and save others when he relied on them every step of the way she had asked him.
So here he was, just Karayan and his bone dagger, facing off against the Kiandri... and after a bit of searching he found not one, but two of the big beasts, "Here is where I should be coming up with a great plan, one that would utilize not only my own strength but that of Captain Stuffypants too." He muttered to himself, looking around for a moment, trying to devise a plan that would help him to beat the Kiandri dragons... and he found himself starring at a rock. Well... he supposed that would help, right? It had last time. Nothing like a good rock for getting the attention of a dragon he thought to himself before he swept it up into his hand, looking it over, before he sent it sailing forward toward one of the dragons.
There was an audible 'CRACK' sound and much to his surprise the dragon collapsed into a heap. He blinked a couple times, starring at the creature's fallen form, even more shocked when the second one took off, "Ahhh... well... that was... something..." He said, not really sure exactly how he should describe that strange stroke of luck. If anything he should just celebrate the fact that he had actually hit the dragon in a weak spot, likely it's temple which he knew to be vulnerable, before he hurried forward. Best that he finish it off while it was still stunned, then he would spend the rest of the time making up a story for how he'd heroically beat the dragon instead of explaining how he'd managed to knock it out by sheer luck alone. He somehow felt that claiming it as luck wasn't the way to go about proving himself a hero either. Heroes did heroic things and he wasn't quite certain if tossing a rock could be considered heroic... he somehow doubted it.
"Where is Madryn Col at this point, that was a damn good throw." Of course the Orderite wouldn't be about when he pulled off something as smooth as that he thought to himself. Instead Madryn was about when he was out numbered and running away from hungry dragons, next time perhaps. For the moment he was quick to finish off the Kiandri dragon that he'd stunned, scooped up it's orb when it appeared, and smiled at it, "You're pretty... though somehow I doubt that you are enough. Best that I continue with the hunt." He said to the orb before he stuffed into his pack, hurrying off once more across the hot sand in search of another dragon to fight.
