It had been a successful night, trawling through the bar scene of Destiny City. There was always an abundance of energy to drain, especially if done slowly and in small amounts. Recently, the lieutenant had taken to putting herself in crowded areas, leeching only snippets of energy from unwilling victims as she shuffled through the rooms. In terms of gathering energy, it was definitely nickel-and-dime-ing it, but if she was careful she could have a lump sum equivalent to one or two complete drains, with no civilians being the wiser. Given that her uniform was so drab compared to other officers, most people never even noticed that there was something different about her.

After a night's successful harvesting, the blonde lieutenant took to the rooftops, eager to head home and report to her superior officer. Surely, she was making great strides in her progress, and they had to notice her hard work eventually! Knowing her strengths and feeling competent in her station gave Zircon something of a giddy rush, and it translated well into her graceful leaps and well-practiced tumbles. In fact, the woman was so caught up in her daydreams of getting noticed by her superiors that she barely noticed the Orderly aura until she was nearly upon it.

At the last second, she stopped, tilting the head slightly to the left in the direction of the other late-night stroller. Again, she felt the achingly familiar thrum associated with knighthood, and drunk off of her success, she found that her curiosity over-rode her apprehension. Pocketing her gains for the night, she changed direction, running at a brisk pace until she felt that the knight had to be within earshot. She bounded down to the sidewalks, placing herself in plain view under a streetlight with her arms held up in a posture of nonaggression. After all, the tactic had worked on her when Valhalla used it.

"I know you're around here somewhere," she called into the darkness, glancing around for sight of the figure. "I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to talk."

Donovan was enjoying his patrol. The sky was clear, but a bit chilly, and his spirits were high. He wasn't feeling any of the chill on the air. He wasn't very far when a Negaverse aura popped into his radar. He turned his head toward it and felt it approach holding still until it came to a stop. His only real interaction with Chaos to this point was Virtus, a DMC, and Merlinite, who was kind of an a*****e. But he'd beaten him up and sent him on his way so no worries there.

Normally an enemy saying "come out, come out wherever you are" was not going to prompt a response. It was almost like asking to get killed or your a** kicked. It was certainly not a call to talk, as this lieutenant promised. However, Vesuvius only had a limited understanding of Chaos, of the Negaverse, and of the officers that populate it so he took it as open invitation and walked into view.

"I think it's me you're seeking, lass."

If things came to worse he would simply have to run away. Bad guy or not he didn't hit girls. That was something Pappy was always very clear about. Never lay a hand on a woman in anger or really treat them in any way less than a Queen. His philosophy was that if this was done correctly he'd never find himself in an altercation with a woman to be put in the position to decide. But, that shouldn't suggest that when worse came to worse he couldn't subdue her or defend himself. He wasn't stupid, just chivalrous.

"What is it you had on your mind to talk about?"

Despite being the one to initiate the open invitation, Zircon nevertheless tensed when the Page came into view. Taking a deep breath, she willed herself to be calm, though she didn't bother smiling as she eyed over the man's appearance. She wasn't sure what to make of him: Knight costumes varied as wildly as Negaverse attire, and beneath that Shakespearean visage potentially lurked danger. At least, that's what she'd been told to believe. For the moment, he seemed pretty compliant, and Zircon was willing to use that to her advantage.

"You'd be correct," she nodded, adjusting her glasses. She tried to keep her appearance cold and aloof, but it was hard not to fidget when she was nervous. She had never been the one to initiate this conversation, after all, and anyone could be watching.

"I am Lieutenant Zircon," she said, as a formal greeting she'd used hundreds of times, "And I just have a few questions for you, if you wouldn't mind." A strange proposal, given their factions, but maybe Zircon could put some of her lurking discontent to rest.

"If not, you're free to leave, I have no desire to harass anyone tonight. I just feel like I haven't been getting the whole story about people like you, and I'm curious."

I am so sorry! oAo The Christmas season was insane, and it really killed my muse. I am still up to finish this if you are! <3

Vesuvius considered her carefully and folded his arms over his chest. He didn't hit girls so that she wasn't looking for a fight was something of a relief. Defending got old after a while when most people tried to take advantage of his hands off ways. He couldn't help it if he was raised to be a gentleman and not to hit girls. He couldn't have anticipated himself in this war in a hundred years.

He shrugged.

"I'm Vesuvius. I guess I'm game to answer some questions, if I can."

He was still too new to trust that he'd know a lot of answers. He'd picked Camelot's brain pretty well when they first met, though, so maybe he could help her. The page knew that he wasn't supposed to trust this side, and he didn't, but Camelot hadn't said anything about talking to them. Maybe if they understood the right side they could change. It was worth trying, right?

"Fire away I guess, Lieutenant."

Zircon's lips pursed as she nodded her head, the corners of her mouth slightly curled upwards in a cold smile. "Good, good, glad to see we're on the same page." She began to pace at the edge of his personal boundary, keeping an ear out for what could be the opposition.

"My first question," she paused, holding up her pointer finger for emphasis on the 'one'. "What planet do you represent? Are you Earth, like us, or something else?" Valhalla had represented Jupiter, which seemed to make sense to Zircon, but Camelot...he was an anomaly, something that made her head ache whenever she tried to piece together the ramifications of his existence. This third Knight didn't look like either, but then again, it was hard to discern what his true motives were. After all, their assignment of uniforms seemed to be much more free-form than anything she'd seen in the Negaverse.

Vesuvius didn't think any harm ever came from answering a question and crossed his arms over his chest as he listened. My, my this woman seemed a bit high strung! He had to repress a chuckle, hiding his smile behind the polite clearing of his throat.

"I'm Vesuvius of Pluto, at your service."

Well, maybe not literally at her service, but someone's.

"Didn't have much in the way of say so about it either, I just was. Can't say I'm really complaining about the costume, though."

He grinned in what he hoped was a charming way, ever the ladies' man. He would have kissed her hand in introduction if he thought he could get away with it. By the way she was acting he wasn't very sure but he'd certainly try to get her to lighten up enough to sneak it in before they parted if he could.

"I should mention, though, that even thought I represent Pluto I feel as Earth bound as can be. Pure Earthling."
