Gender: Female
Age: 18
Physical Description:
Personality: Sarah is a sweet girl, but sometimes that and her naivety can get her into trouble.
She tries so hard to keep everyone in her family happy, sometimes even at her own expense. She's hard-working, likes to cook and read. She dreams of someday having a family of her own, though having raised Ashton and Emily (And still in the process of doing so), she's in no rush to have children of her own.
History: The Doughton family has been farmers and shepherds for generations. Sure, every once in a while there's a child that runs to find work in the cities or sea, determined to try finding a better, more successful way of life, but for the most part the family has worked the same land for years.
Sarah is the only daughter of Laura and David Doughton. She lost her mother in the birthing and father not long afterwards. She never knew any other parents beside her Aunt Abigale and Uncle Michael, who adopted her on her father's death. They raised her along with her older cousin Charles and younger cousins Jacob, Ashton, and Emily. When she was 14 years old, they lost Abigale and Michael, leaving Charles and her the eldest.

Gender: Female
Personality: Maffei at times is no better than Sarah. She's a soft-hearted girl who wants to help in any way she can. She delights in playing with the children as well as just lying on the rug in front of the fire with Messier while Charles or Sarah read a story to the little ones.
Most of the time, she can't really put up with Messier's nature, any more than he can really put up with hers. On days of rest, when the family plays together outside, she has tried to get Messier to loosen his rigid posture and join them, but each time is forced to abandon her quest lest she miss out on the fun. In her mind, it is his loss, but she'll not give up trying.
The Summoning: After the death of her "mama" and "papa," Sarah was suddenly in a complicated position, as a mother, but still a little girl. Charles couldn't do everything at once, after all. Jacob was old enough to watch the sheep, but Ashton was still young and obnoxious, and Emily was little most than a baby. She knew how to cook some and the housekeeping was easy to learn, but it was just all so much. Too much, perhaps.
After Charles summoned his hound, he explained to his family what had happened, no doubt to be sure none of them were afraid. Sarah remembered the bells, remembered the night when they had been so strong she couldn't sleep. It made her wonder if she, too, was capable of summoning a hound.
So, one night when Charles was in town and all the children asleep, Sarah tried. And then the next night that Charles was gone and the children abed, she tried again. For five nights over a span of several weeks, she tried, the fifth try her success.
When Maffei asked in her own sweet and concerned tone what it was Sarah wanted, the poor girl was at a loss. What had she truly wanted?
In the end, she let her heart lead her, as it forever would.
"I just want a friend."
And so the bond was made.
(Bond/Sacrifice - Their sacrifice is somewhat their freedom, as they are tied so closely. They cannot travel too far from one another, which is to say, Sarah cannot go so far as town and leave Maffei at home.)
