"The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and is for the OECW Seasons Championship! Introducing first..."

Weather: Rain.
Wind: 4 mph.
Temperature: 56 degrees Fahrenheit.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 28, 2013 11:10 pm

Seasons come
Seasons go
Face the forecasts of your woe

Howling gales will bring you blight
Whose blood shall I spill tonight?

An ominous message delivered, the twanging of guitars lit up the night with flashing cameras and two lone lights on the ramp, illuminating the falling drizzle on the arena. Ominous fog rolled from the top of the ramp as the drum line kicked the mood into torpor-overdrive. Thick enough to cloud the entrance, the man known as Shadow emerged with a glimmering of flickered silver around his waist: the Seasons' Championship amongst the festive outfit he wore special for the night's hallowed eve.

"From the Land of the Setting Sun, weighing in at two hundred and thirty pounds... he is the OECW Seasons Champion: SHADOW!"

Forgoing the rocking chair, Shadow made his way to the ring in regal strides as his entrance went into full swing of bringing in "Fear of a Blank Planet".

Sunlight coming through the haze
No depths in the blinds
To let it inside
The bed is unmade
Some music still plays
TV, yeah it's always on
The flicker of the screen
A movie actress screams
I'm basking in the s**t flowing out of it

I'm stoned in the mall again
Terminally bored
Shuffling round the stores
And shoplifting is getting so last year's thing

My X-box is a god to me
A finger on the switch
My mother is a b***h
My father gave up ever trying to talk to me

Sliding into the ring amongst the mixed reaction from the special ring attire, Shadow stood up in the center and took off the Pumpkin King mask for even some special face-paint. Tossing the mask to the side, Shadow whipped his head back with arms out-stretched to either side, he shot a massive puff of Orange Mist into the air for the delight of those with the benefit of flash-photography.

The cape and elaborate top being removed, Shadow stared at the top of the ramp, awaiting the arrival of ye who squeezed out an upset victory to make this match alive: one AJ Warner.

Rain fell down from the heavens, tapping the ground and the fans turning their attention to the entrance way had continued to ignore the droplets hitting their head. No lights to brighten the ring were on, and it was one of the only few ways AJ could make his entrance fit the setting. Over the covered PA system, the speakers began to play the eerie intro of the Suplex Shooter's theme song with a roar of approval following its rhythm. Behind the curtain awaited a man who had pulled what some may call an upset against a legendary warrior, but in his own right, Warner had considered himself one as well. Perhaps it would not be called an upset any further if AJ left this match with a shiny new title around his waist. Especially a championship that had been held so close to Shadow's heart (assuming he had one, of course).

"Moving in Stereo" - The Cars

Life's the same, I'm moving in stereo
Life's the same, except for my shoes
Life's the same, you're shakin like tremolo
Life's the same, it's all inside of you

Emerging through the curtain that was set up was AJ Warner with all confidence beaming through his smile. The audience applauded and cheered for their old veteran, and after their first match seemed to be a sample of what these two could produce in a ring, many fans had hoped AJ would win simply to see more out of these two originals. The Suplex Shooter removed his hood, letting the rain hit him as well. He was gonna have to get used to these conditions sooner or later, but being born and raised in Canada helped AJ get a bit used to the cold at a fairly early age. He didn't waste any time walking down the ramp and looking down his opponent while simultaneously slapping the outreached, slippery hands of his approving audience.

Its so easy to blow up your problems
Its so easy to play up your breakdown
Its so easy to fly through a window
Its so easy to fool with the sound

"And introducing the challenger, fighting out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada! Weighing in at two hundred thirty pounds, the Suplex Shooter... A-JAAAAAYYY WARRRRRNERR!"

AJ quickly rolled into the ring and paced back and fourth, visibly excited for this match up. He nodded to Shadow with a smile as a way to taunt him. That belt was going to be Warner's for the taking after this match, or so he had hoped. "I hope you took some notes, champ." AJ said, trying to get Shadow to fight out of emotion, when really it was his belt to defend. Taking off his hoody was a veteran who was a complete noob to fighting in the rain... at least professionally. The music ended and the lights around the ring came back on right before the sound of the bell. AJ vs. Shadow Part II was underway.

((Welp, being without internet for a week sure is fun))

With the rain gently falling, the match began with a wet bell ring! Circling up with the one and only AJ, Shadow felt out the air between them with a kick aimed towards AJ's shins. He wasn't expecting it to hit, but to see how the competitor acclimated to the unfamiliar ring conditions.

AJ had jumped back quickly, still on his feet and being weary of Shadow's extended arsenal. Warner wanted to make it clear from the get-go, he was going to dictate the pace of this match and when the first manuever would take place. Wit a quick hop and quicker-paced circling around the ring, AJ waited for Shadow's next move, hoping his impatience would get the best of him.

They danced around in circles for a few passes. AJ seemed to be unphased by the weather, and so was the Seasons Champion. Motioning closer, Shadow would close the distance for the traditional elbow and collar tie-up if AJ was willing to get that close.

Warner engaged in the elbow-and-collar tie-up, still trying to get his footing ready for whichever way Shadow went to manuever. AJ tried to dig his feet into the mat and push Shadow into the corner without slipping and looking like an a**.

Whether or not AJ was up for slipping wasn't the issue, because weather permitting, Shadow's next action of suddenly dropping to the mat was about to make more sense when he did in fact drop to the mat holding onto AJ's arms to try and launch the man up an over with a Wet Monkey Flip! CAUSE IT'S RAINING, GET IT.

AJ understood the subtle yet terrible joke Shadow had done during his great monkey flip, causing AJ to land on his back. Within a couple seconds however, Warner would look to get back to his feet to keep his wet back off the mat.

Rolling over and back onto his feet, Shadow, with a wet stain on his back, looked to charge at AJ with an axe handle to the head. If he was going to win this, he would need to keep AJ grounded and wet. Oh so wet. Like, sponge wet.

Warner rolled out of the way of the axe handle, the monkey flip only keeping him on the mat momentarily. However, he had already slipped getting up, dropping back to a knee and trying to use the ropes to pull him up in a rush.

Having missed the axe handle, Shadow landed in the corner, shaking his head at the missed opportunity. Slipping slightly as he went after AJ again, Shadow aimed to lay his hands on AJ and toss him across the ring to the other side.

Shadow had taken great advantage of the footing, or lackthereof, this match had to offer. AJ had been thrown across the ring, obvious confusion read across his pained facial expressions as to what strategy he could use in this type of setting.

Indeed, this was Shadow's old stomping grounds and the slick mat had another advantage: super sliding. Which Shadow was about to prove by bouncing into the ropes, then running off the rebound into a baseball slide to knock AJ out of the ring!

AJ was forced to the hard outside floor. Nature was a loving mother but quite the b***h to land on, indeed. After few moments of recovery, Warner would look to pull himself up with the apron. How the hell was he going to win in this environment with a very prepared Shadow in the ring?
