Lyceum had heard all that was going on, being one to watch the news each night when she got home and to read the newpaper before she went to work in the morning, if it was there. She was, however, while a page in all this chaos, very busy and had yet to fall victim to strange occurrences everyone was raving about.
She'd had to close before sunset for the 4th night in a row, which made patrolling less of an obvious. She didn't have to worry about being attacked on her way to the car so much in the daylight. As always with Seraphina curiosity and the need to know was getting the better of her. While she closed early today, as she had for 3 days before, tonight she was out and ready.
She walked protecting from the chilly fall night, by her winter sensible outfit and feeling much more appreciative about it that she had been in the summer. She started, still in the shopping district, but no where near her own store, like she would be most nights. The streets were mostly quiet, many people hidden away from the doubles that threatened there existence.

That night wouldn't stay quiet for long, though this time it wasn't necessarily Captain Buddingtonite's fault. He had remembered Serpentine's request and he was more than willing to oblige them, but a run in with a certain dashing-yet-murderous red head in a Negaverse uniform and his feeble escape from him left the Negaverse officer tired, drained, and pretty much running around on his own. He had called for Serpentine a few times on his crystal, but luck simply wasn't with him this evening.
"Oh, of course you're not answering..." Buddingtonite growled, half-jogging, half-limping through the streets, trying to keep his steps light in fear of others hearing him, though his ranting and raving certainly wouldn't help when it came to stealth. For someone with bright red hair and red along his trimming, stealth was a no-go, but still he didn't want his shadow clone to find him. He'd take on anything else right now- Senshi, Knight, Chibi... even an army of annoying, snot-nosed children, so long as it kept him away from his shade... "Yet, if you call me and -I- don't answer, I'm in big, big trouble, huh?!"
He could have gone on and on forever, and the safest bet would have been for him to simply power down and hide, but the fear of being caught by his shade in such a weak state kept him in his powered form, even when he felt weak, drained... helpless. He wasn't sure where Serpentine was, but he kept on trucking, looking over his shoulders every so often to catch sight of his hunter, not at all paying attention to how he go into the business district, or the Order aura he was rapidly approaching until he was literally upon her. He gave a shout, trying to come to a grinding halt, but it was too late! "Ah, WATCH IT!"

Lyceum felt his aura of course, but the speed at which it got stronger confused her a bit and she wasn't entirely sure just exactly where he was coming from. She was turned sideways when his footfalls and turned to here his voice before he collided with her and she ended up on the ground.
Lyceum groaned frowning slightly, "I much prefer not being run over," she said looking see the freight train that ran her over. What she saw wasn't what she was expecting.
"Buddingtonite," she exclaimed looking him over and frowning slightly, "I know im pretty irresistable, but I'm a date first kind of girl ... well most of the time anyway."
Upon closer inspection she realized maybe now wasn't the time for jokes, "... are you ... are you okay? You look tired, warn down."

It wasn't necessarily the most graceful encounter he ever had with a lady and in all honesty, Buddingtonite should have felt a hell of a lot more embarrassment swelling within him, especially since he knew the lovely lady. He'd recognize those gorgeous red locks and those beautiful curves from anywhere, and weeks ago he would have killed for the chance to get into a horizontal position with Lyceum, but tonight was certainly not the night for such desires. Considering the month he had, and the night he's had, not even the perverted side of them could rejoice in such a reunion, though he could tell he was trying.
Her reaction was pleasant, in the very least, and he knew that it could have ended poorly for him and thus ruined whatever chances he might have had in recruiting her on a later basis, but the thought simply didn't cross his mind. He grabbed onto her, more desperate to pull himself back to his feet than for any sensual reason, and he tried to keep his tone smooth and pleasant, even though his knees wobbled and he looked over his shoulders, in fear of seeing his shade catching up with him. "My most humble apologies, m'dear... wasn't looking where I as going, and you know how that is, right? Or not... too graceful of a lady for such a mistake..."
The question would not go unanswered, and after a few moments of undesirable huffing and puffing and a few near falls, he finally stood to his feet, and while he tried to give her the attention she deserved, he looked like a frantic hare, looking this away and that for the hungry wolf that had once been chasing it, knowing it could come from any direction and could strike at any moment. "Been better. Much better, actually. Let's not go into too much detail, shall we? Wouldn't wish to burden you over such a matter... too troublesome and I wouldn't want to worry your pretty little-"
He spotted movement in the corner of his eye and instinctively pressed a shoulder against Lyceum, as if to try and push her back, and any attempt to keep up a suave and cool act was tarnished as he gave a shout. "And it looks like we have company, fancy that!"Kaori_luv I am soooo sorry for the wait! Um, I can't remember exactly, is it Lyceum's shade we're fighting, or Buddy's?

Lyceum didn't mind offer Buddy the leverage he needed as she had a far easier time getting back up than him. She'd also no been chased by a shade, actually she'd not even run into one. Her's or anyone else's. He spoke words of being fine, but his body language was screaming otherwise. She went to call him on it wanting to say if it was nothing than surely he wouldn't be so flustered, but the shoulder pressed to her quieted the comment and she got a chance to see with her own words just had him so frantic.
She blinked because she swore she was seeing double, only the double seemed wrong, the wrong color, didn't appear to be the same strength as the captain before her, but maybe she was wrong on that.
"There's two of you," she whispered, "talk about dual handsomeness." The second part she hadn't even meant to say, it sort of just slipped out.
"I'm guess he's not your twin as you seem a little spooked and I doubt even twins can have the exact same outfit."ChibiGingi I so late with this, it was suppose to be his, but if your up for hers appearing too that' be fun because I totally have no other shade rps with her

Normally Buddingtonite would have enjoyed her company and the excuse to have their bodies meet, and even her humored quip, but this kind of situation was anything but normal. Thus, Buddingtonite's response was slightly altered, as though he made a conscious effort to remain smiling and chipper, it was obvious forced and didn't last long, as he turned to see the dark figure of himself approaching them. "Y-yes, double the pleasure, double the… oh, lovely!"
Thanks to Lyceum's efforts, he was back on his feet, and just in time to see the murderous glint in the shade's dark eyes, and Buddingtonite didn't feel an ounce of shame in his being as he pushed against Lyceum to hopes of getting the both of them into a running start.
"No, that's something we don't want to be around right now, so if you don't mind, how about the two of us go for a little jog?" Buddingtonite offered, not outright pushing her but making it very, very clear that he wasn't wanting to stick around and combat the dark version of himself a second time that evening. Especially when he felt himself too drained from his earlier efforts to escape this menace. He glanced back, seeing the shade start running towards him, and he just about panicked. "Yes, certainly would love to get those legs moving right now! Absolutely!"
The shade swung his arm, letting his boomerang fly towards the two as he gave an angered shout. He would not escape this time!

Lyceum was becoming exceedingly more confused with each passing moment, but cause one second he seemed his charming flirty self and the second he was trying to get her to run. She did, however trust him so his pushes got her moving after a moment. She didn't like the angry look on the monochrome twin nor did she appreciate when he decided to throw the boomerang at them.
She gave a shout, grabbing Buddy's arm and took off though she wasn't certain they'd be able to escape the weapon. Running in heels wasn't the easiest thing to do, but she didn't really have a choice. "What did you do to him. Why is he attacking you? How long has this guy been chasing you? This is completely crazy. Doesn't exactly make your side look very good at the moment."
She had no idea she had a murderous double that just hadn't found her of yet.

Buddingtonite let out an annoyed scoff, not liking how strained and out of breath he was though knowing he only had himself to blame. Lyceum seemed determined to throw the blame on him for this strange encounter and he was quick to try and defend himself, not once realizing that he was only incriminating himself. “Always with the questions- can’t just assume that it’s an evil me and leave it at that! Fine… he tried to kill me, so I pushed him in front of a train… turns out they can teleport just like I can, and he was understandably not happy with my attempt on his life.”
When he put it that way, yes, it definitely did sound like he had done something in the wrong and probably deserved this, but he remembered that it was the shadow double that had started this mess. He only acted in self defense, and that was enough to shift any blame off of him, as far as Buddingtonite was concerned. When the boomerange flung towards him, he twisted around and tried to stop it with his own, missing terribly and forcing him to duck, though luck was on his side when his weapon struck his double’s face and sent him stumbling back. Finally, a break!
“Uh, can I answer those later? Kind of getting winded here… and trust me, he’s not on my side. Negaverse don’t hire evil dark doppelgangers of strapingly dashing gentlemen like myself, last I checked!” Despite being exhausted and out of breath, he pushed her to keep running. He understood she was running in high heels and that was always a challenge for others, but he had no strength to carry her. Perhaps he could push her down and hope she’d be good bait? He considered it for a moment, looking for a way to escape. “If you’d like to use some magic or something to slow him down, that’s be splendid, otherwise… RUN!”

Lyceum's jaw dropped in she frowned in her stride, "Pushing someone in front of a train is a little extreme don't you think. Not to mention that im concerned about how the station isn't exactly near here!" She continued running benefiting slightly from long toned legs even though the shoes certainly weren't helping.
She was lucky it seemed that the double focused mostly on Buddy, so when he ducked the boomerang, she only had to zig a little off to the side. He gave him a pointed look when he asked about answering questions later, especially when they were running from a dangerous double.
She looked slightly nervous to admit she didn't have any magic and wasn't about show off her weapon or at least what she assumed was her weapon. A small olive branch wasn't exactly not worthy. Instead she reached out and attempted to grab his hand. There was an alley way just up ahead and around the corner, the back alley of several shops and a chance for Lyceum to be useful.
"I have an idea!"

”Well, when you’re psychotic double emerges from the bowels of hell and try and choke the life out of you, I’d love to see what you’d do!” Buddingtonite didn’t mean to snap or lose his temper, but he simply had enough of this. If it wasn’t bad enough that he was being hunted down by his very angry and very psychotic doppelganger, the last thing he needed was a lecture from Lyceum. Had he been thinking clearly and managed any amount of foresight, he would have considered his words with caution, but given the situation, he felt his attitude was completely justified. “If this is how you’re going to treat someone who nearly died, then maybe we need to reconsider how our relationship is going to be!”
Having arguments with the Polaris page definitely wasn’t going to help the situation in the least, and if anything, it only helped to wear him out. His chest his the ground and any desire to speak, either in angry self defense or to apologize for losing his temper was taken from him. He didn’t want to fight anymore. He just wanted to lay here and hope that the dark version of himself would find more entertainment out of the fleeing Lyceum, but he knew it wouldn’t happen. Whoever this monster was, he was relentless and he wanted his blood. He guess he couldn’t blame him… who wouldn’t want a piece of Buddingtonite?
Suddenly she grabbed his hand and mentioned having a plan, and just like that, Buddingtonite could feel his strength returning to him. “Good! Plans are good! I could use a plan… insurance plan, even… lead the way, my dear! I am all ears and running, running legs!”
They ran into the alleyway and his double was hot on his heels. He finally spoke, his tone guttural and beastly almost, but otherwise, sounding exactly like the Negaverse captain, much to his dismay. “You cannot escape me!”

Lyceum certainly didn't want to think about what she would do. She was pretty sure if it was her she'd be having her death mourned because she wasn't exactly a fighter and this double seemed rather hell bent. She frowned at Buddy, not liking the statement about rethinking their relationship, because he was the most informative person she'd met thus far, not that she was trying very hard. He was also now more than a I saw you that one timer. She didn't argue further, no an idea had struck her and they would be far more useful than her damn stick.
Confident that Buddy was following and game for the plan despite not knowing what it was, she sped up at bit, hoping he kept up and rounded down the alley. It was hard to search and run at the same time, but she was confident they were there. She'd told one of her employees to put them out, just a day prior and she knew the trash hadn't been collect yet, for another day.
She ignored the doubles cries and after a moment she spotted the box, not to far from a parked car. She round it and practically dove into the box, not literally it was a small box, but it was filled with old belts. Lyceum pulled out a gold chained belt from several seasons ago, out of date, out of style, but useful in the moment, along with a couple others offering them to Buddy, but keeping the gold one for herself.
"Belt can definitely be deadly," she said quickly, nodding, "figure it out. I will distract it as best I can, okay." She didn't wait for an answer before darting out and belt in hand to engage the double hopefully distracting it long enough for Buddy to do something. Hopefully not run and leave her alone with the thing.

Buddingtonite had no idea what she was doing or what her grand scheme would have been but at this point, he wasn’t in the mood to question or argue with her. Arguing with the enemy-turned-ally was already a bad enough idea, especially when they were trying to save his life, but arguing with a woman? That was just plain suicidal. And Buddingtonite was NOT suicidal. Risk-taker, yes. Thrill-seeker, double yes. But not suicidal. For now, he’d simply have to put his faith in Lyceum…
Even when she looked to be diving for a small box… what was in the box and how the hell did she know it was there were among the many questions he had in regards to this turn of events, but once again, there was no time to question her. The double threw his boomerang at him again and succeeded in knocking his hat off and that forced a startled yelp out of him, and he almost missed the belts she offered him as a result to that.
Belts? She wanted him to do exactly… WHAT with belts? She didn’t say anything except that they could be deadly and to figure it out, and given just how drained he was, both physically and mentally, that was asking a lot out of the captain. However, before he could even think to tell her this, she had turned around and engaged the enemy, and if there was ever a time for the Negaverse captain to just cut his losses and make his escape, now could have been the time. And yet… as easy as that would have been, he couldn’t just LEAVE her. Her dying would mean she wasn’t in the Negaverse, and then all of his work would have been for naught.
“Alright, well… keep it up! I think I got an idea…” He grabbed a few of the belts and began to tie them together. Maybe he could make a whip, or mace, or a net? A NET! And while the double was distracted, they could make a run for it. Seemed simple enough...

She was focused so the boomerang that knocked Buddy's hat of went mostly ignored in her pursuit and then she left the poor captain alone to figure out the belt thing. Seriously people could be whipped, tied up, or even hung with a belt, but she didn't think it needed explaining, not when the crazed double would have been on them in a second.
Lyceum with her gold chained belt in hand made it quickly to the other. It was very focused on Buddy, but all she had to do was distract it right. She stopped and snapped the chained belt right at the double aiming to hit it in the shoulder and try to make it focus on her.
"If you want to get to him, you're going to have to go through me. Whoever you are," she called out to the monochrome copycat. She snapped the belt again. She didn't necessarily know what she was doing really, but something was better than nothing. If she did nothing they both might end up dead right.
She silently hoped that Buddy wouldn't leave her alone.

There was a murderous intent in the Buddingtonite double's eyes and while it was set solely on burning a hole through the original with his gaze, he could not ignore the strike he felt from the knight, the belt slapping against his shoulder and forcing him back from the blow. His shoulder may have been clothed under a thick coat but the strike was strong enough to cause a yelp, and for a brief second, that wrathful gaze was now focused solely on Lyceum. If she wanted his attention, she got it.
Buddingtonite, the real one, had just finished tying some of the belts together and had there not been a fight on the verge of breaking out between Lyceum and his evil(er) twin, he would have taken the time to admire his good work. It may not have been the best of nets and in all honesty it did look like it was something that was thrown together at the last minute, but given the amount of pressure he was under? Buddingtonite was pretty damn proud of himself! Yet, there was no time to admire his hard work, and the loud SNAP from the belt and Lyceum's threat forced his attention back to the matter at hand, and he grabbed the makeshift belt net, hoping that it wouldn't simply fall apart on his gallant charge. "Let's see how you like this, you mimicker a*****e!"
That was a weak insult and even Buddingtonite knew it, but he was just too exhausted to care. Just as his double rose his hand to strike at Lyceum, he threw the net right at his face, the buckles weighing it down enough to force him backwards and the shove from the real captain threw him off balance and sent him stumbling backwards, right onto his butt. There was no time to mock the man for his disgraceful fall, as the minute he was down, Buddingtonite reached for Lyceum's hand and urged her to flee. "Let's go, before he gets up! Run, run, run!"

Buddy saved Lyceum for the whooping she would likely have recieved, but she couldn't help but to give him a look at his insult to the double. If the situation was less dire she would have laughed, but she also bet if the situation was less dire the insult would like have been a little better.
The net, she thought, was an odd choice but it worked. She didn't really want to run, but she didn't have much of a choice as her hand was taken and Buddy gave the order to do just that. So she ran pushing as hard as could to go fast not wanting the double intent on very likely killing buddy to catch up to them.
"What are you going to do when that things gets up? Please tell me you have somewhere safe to go! I really don't think that thing intends to give up," she said while running, her words coming out resembling a huff more than anything. Buddy need to get out of their, as far and as safe as possible.
