The junior weyrwoman of Trine had been keeping to herself for the past day or two, packing a bag with a few items - such as a change of clothes and food - in preparation for the little trip she and Kindra had planned. They probably should have mentioned it to a couple certain bronzerider's. But that kind of defeated the purpose of them needing to get away. Said bronzerider's would have tried to follow. And, well, that was so not part of their plans for today.
They will understand. Cepheith reassured her. Again. For the some-teenth time. The gold dragon was currently extending her leg for Narisa to climb up and mount. Like a typical chance for the pair of them to stretch her wings.
I know that! But they're still going to be so mad.
Cepheith just snorted, backing away from their weyr to allow Suunath room for take off. We are ready, sister! The larger gold said excitedly before leaping into the air, wings beating heavily and quickly to gain height. You know where we are going?
Sort of. I know where to jump to, but from there we'll have to search a little. Narisa waved down to Kindra, signaling she was ready. Giving Ceph the reference she needed, the gold passed it along to Suunath before flashing between.
And appearing some ways outside of the Weyr. Cepheith let out a bugle, lazily gliding along the thermals as she awaited Suunath.

It had not been easy keeping a secret from N'mol, they'd grown much closer over the past few months but since she still shared quarters with Narisa, the girls' only real respite from the day to day running of the Weyr, the boys often left them alone. Either she packed some things while Narisa was busy or the other way around, over the last few days they'd managed to pack enough things away for their little plan.
Now they were ready Kindra was nervous, would they be found out, would the be followed? She wasn't sure but she had made sure N'mol at least was busy elsewhere for the time being. Suunath had fed the day before and was perfectly content. "Don't worry Mine, Cepheith's and yourself have planned everything well. Myself and Cepheith have kept the secret from our Bronzes as you have kept it from your Weyrmates" Rumbled the small Gold as Kindra inwardly fretted while she made sure Suunath's riding straps were secure before mounting.
"Good my sister, then let us be off before Ours' Weyrmates discover we are gone!" she let out an almost amused noise as she replied to her fellow Gold, Waiting until the other Queen had been gone for several heartbeats before launching herself into the air, hovering for a moment to check they weren't being obvserved before hopping between herself to the co-ordinates Cepheith had sent her.
She emerged somewhat higher than Cepheith had, just to make sure neither collided with each other. She heard the tail end of Cepheith's bugle and returned it with a low one of her own, circling down towards the other Gold to draw level with her. "Finally" "Finally" Kindra and Suunath said together, Kindra obviously louder so that the other Goldrider could hear her. "We are here, at last, and see, we weren't followed, you need not have worried" Suunath said to Kindra privately before coloring her mental tone with amusement towards Cepheith Won't our Bronzes be furious when they find out?" she chuckled. Kindra grinned and whooped, something she would never really allow herself within the weyr, with others below her rank listening and watching. "I'm so glad to be out of the stuffy Weyr" she said over to Narisa, her teeth brightly white in her dark face.

Cepheith was way more amused by this whole ordeal then her rider was. She kept reassuring Narisa everything would be fine! This had been a good plan and something she and Kindra very much needed and deserved. Besides! They obviously would have herself and Suunath to keep watch and protect them.
It wasn't really until they had made that jump between and Suunath appeared above them that Narisa seemed to breathe and smile in a giddy fashion.
Finally indeed! Cepheith crooned towards Suunath. And I just imagine they will have a bit of a fit when we return. Especially Pipith. He'd probably pout.
Narisa had to laugh as she heard Kindra whoop, unable to resist doing something similar. "Oh Faranth, I am glad too!" She did feel bad and a little guilty, but it felt so nice being out here, and not having to worry about anything. "We should have done something like this much sooner." She shouted over to Kindra, an equally big smile on her face. "I don't think it's too far, so let's keep heading this direction." Narisa added, giving Cepheith's neck a hardy smack. The gold dipped her head in agreement, bright blue eyes sparkling in her cheer.
She'd never been to the hotsprings before, though many had told her about them. Or mentioned them in passing. It was something Narisa had kept in the back of her mind, just in case. And she thanked Faranth she had! It was the perfect get away for her and Kindra. A day spent just being girls. Not having to worry about politics or what new issue would crop up. Just for a little while, they could have some breathing space.
I believe the springs we seek are just up there. Cepheith informed all, dipping a wing slightly to angle towards the outcropping that smelled of salt and water and felt warmer the closer they got.

Suunath was most definitely smug and cheerful, sneaking past the Bronzes was fun! Of course she was serious about her duty as a Gold but it was nice to get away. Especially when Theirs were getting stressed, Suunath rumbled happily in Cepheith's direction, clearly very pleased with their deceit. It isn't like we are unreachable, and we ARE going to return, they know that we would tell them if we were in trouble she conspired with Cepheith, following the larger Gold since she knew better the way than she, Suunath did.
"We should have Narisa" she called back, leaning forward against Suunath's neck, stroking the shimmery hide. "We're behind you Narisa" she called back as she followed on Suunath. She was relieved they'd avoided the guys, even if it might only be temporary. In fact she was sure that as soon as N'mol knew she'd disappeared he'd be getting in touch with Suunath through his bronze. She'd enjoy the peace while it lasted. She wasn't sure she would have done anything like this had she still been at Benden, she hadn't had a friend like Narisa there.
Kindra and Suunath felt the growing warmth as they approached the springs. aaah... we are going to enjoy this murmured Suunath, audible to Narisa and Cepheith as well as Hers, Echoing Kindra's thoughts. "This is going to be good" sighed Kindra, smiling warmly as she leaned on Suunath.

The larger gold dipped her wing just enough to start a slow spiral down towards the springs, sky blue eyes taking in everything and rumbling happily at the feel of the warmth against her hide. So very true, sister! We are not fools. Just looking out for Ours. Because Theirs were too nice to tell their weyrmates (yes, she totally considered Pipith and His their weyrmates) they needed a bit of girl time with No Boys. A concept the gold wasn't sure said 'boys' knew of.
Narisa looked down towards a beautiful piece of land with tiny pools scattered along what must have been a dormant volcano. Or something of that nature. Whatever the case, there was a light fog floating about the ground from the steam rising off the water. And it just looked so wonderful. She was super excited to take a dip in the warm waters! Giving Kindra a wave, she pat Cepheith to signal for a landing. The gold aligned herself with a large enough section void of pools to land with an audible 'thump'.
The ground feels sooo nice. Cepheith practically purred, lowering herself to allow Narisa an easier dismount.
"Oh my Faranth! This was the best idea we've had." Narisa laughed, unbuckling her riding straps as well as detaching the bundle she'd brought. Sliding down from Ceph's neck, she grinned at her bonded, waiting for Kindra and Suunath to land. "I say we ditch the flying gear as quick as possible and soak in those waters. And then maybe lunch?"
Cepheith snorted in amusement. We shall find a nice place to lounge and enjoy the heat while you soak in your silly water. She said matter of factly. Though she didn't move from where she was currently 'lounging'.

Suunath sighed as she landed beside her sister Gold, barely waiting for Kindra to remove her riding leathers. Quite!, although speaking of looking out, i think one should keep watch while the Ours relax, why don't you enjoy some of these hot springs while i keep watch for a little while, then we can switch. That way Our Bronzes and Theirs can't complain that we were being reckless The younger gold was excited but she remembered that Kindra had been badly hurt twice by their enemies, the fact the Goldrider still held the scars, though hidden beneath her clothes, irritated Suunath but she was cautious when she wanted to be, besides, let the older resident Gold enjoy some time off first. She could always try and convince Tyeth's to bring Kindra here another time. Oh but the ground does feel good beneath my claws she murmured with a draconic smile at Cepheith
Kindra gave a conspirital grin as she hopped off her dragon and unbuckled the riding leathers so that her dragon could enjoy the warm waters if there was one big enough for the Golds. "No, out best ideas were to Stand" she laughed "this is the Second best" She rid Suunath of the riding gear as fast as she could then giggled at Narisa "Already way ahead of you" she said, grinning as she shucked off the riding jacket and leather pants to reveal Pern's equivalent of a Bikini underneath.
