Yes the plan was coming along nicely. Mortals were often underestimated, Isambard found that a pinch of imagination, a nudge in the right direction would set the ball rolling quite nicely. He had introduced them to the quarry, given them plans for the town and off they had gone fired by the thought of real homes and businesses that they could call their own.
He strolled through the growing town, hands in his pockets looking like one of them, admiring his work. It was a blueprint, if he could make it work here then he could make it work anywhere. By the time the town was finished he would have the perfect workforce that he might be able to entice anywhere. They would found the city of New Albion, it would be bigger, better than before, utilising all the skills from the many worlds that were and had been in existance.
He strolled through the streets and then through the cemetary beyond, it was quiet there and peaceful. At odds with the bustle and noise in the evolving town. His destination was beyond the cemetary, in the open space beyond. The new forge, bigger and better than the one to the west of the Pantheon. This was to be his crowning glory, they would make weapons first, then parts for machines, then machines, steel, everything they would need to go from living in the dark ages to a modern society. Many civilisations took centuries to develop this way, they would do it in a matter of decades, or less.
Like the town it was in a state of partial construction, the foundations were in and the walls were going up, it was to be large, very large to accomodate the industrial sized forges. He watched the men heaving the stone down the path that led from the quarry, winching it up the scaffold to add to the walls. He was looking for one man in particular. A man who Elora informed him was one he would need on his side.

Azriel laughed at a story one of his coworkers was telling him. Sometimes he envied the man his family. Despite the hard times, they provided him with so much joy and distraction. "I can't believe your son thought he'd get away with that," he laughed and then glanced down the way. He saw one of their older members struggling a bit.
"Harry, take over for me," he called out to one of his team and he hopped down from the scaffolding to drop down beside his struggling friend's side. "I got you Gramps," he teased him and helped him lift the large, heavy beam with the pulley system that was in place. Without missing a beat, he caught sight of some of the younger men messing around and not doing what they should. "Oi! You two! Get back to work!" he ordered them and gave the rope another heave. He didn't need to see if they had listened to him or not. He knew without a doubt they had.

And there he was, Isambard watched the relatively young man as he joked with his men, helped the old man and tried to keep the others in check. He was a man that people looked up to, trusted, the perfect revolutionary. Isambard walked up close to where the man was working and looked up, he shielded his eyes from the sun and smiled. "Azriel?" he called out. "Can I take a moment of your time?"

Azriel grunted as his name was called. "Kind of busy here chief!" he called back to the man without looking at him. He had to make sure that the ropes were in place and tied off before he finally turned to see who was addressing him. Dusting his hands off on his dirty trousers, he lifted his brow. He had seen the man around and the others told him he was a god. He didn't look much like any god he had ever heard of. Pulling out a cloth from his back pocket, he sauntered over to him and gave him a friendly smile.
"What can I do for you?"

Isambard waited as the man called out. He was not about to reprimand the man, he might be a god but he was merely a third of one and he was here to make friends and win supporters. He watched the saunter and smirked. "Well I'm hoping we might be able to do something for each other." The god replied. "I am Isambard, god of Industry, though I am aware I do not look like it. I am the benefactor of this project and of the town."

Az smirked lightly and wiped his face off with his cloth. Out of all those words he had just spouted, benefactor was the most important one in his opinion. Benefactors were what helped put food on people's tables and put roofs over their heads. "Alright then... what can I do for you?" he repeated with a bit of a cheeky glint in his dark eyes.

"You may be aware of my associate Elora, she has informed me that you hold quite a bit of sway among the people that inhabit the tented village." He decided to start at the beginning, if Elora was doing her job properly he would know who she was. "She informs me you have a Firm, you take care of the community, offer protection to residents and businesses in return for goods."

Az listened to the god before him and gave a wry snort of laughter at the mention of Elora. Who was not aware of her? He was fairly certain it was almost impossible not to be.
"I see," he smirked and looked up at him. So that was how the Garden worked. He had wondered where its roots had come from. It was far too polished of an establishment to have just appeared as most others did. It made sense that it would operate under some conditions. It's what he would have done if he had had the resources and inclination. "There is a possibility that I do provide some services to some of those in need. Are you in need sir?" he smirked lightly.

Isambard laughed a little at his bold assumption. "Well I was thinking more a partnership, need implies that there would be some kind of debt. You know people and I have a town waiting for people. I'd like you to help me set it up, move people in. They will need security, there will need to be some kind of order within the town."

Azriel tilted his head back a little and folded his sweaty arms over his chest as he considered the being in front of him. "So you need someone to keep an eye on things is what you're saying. Just how much autonomy are we talking about here? From where I'm standing, you seem to be holding most of the cards. Are you wanting me to keep an eye on things your way or mine?"

Isambard nodded. He certainly had better things to do with his time than to babysit the town. He was Industry not hearth or justice. "Keep an eye on it, keep it running. I have shops, flats and houses all ready for people, I need someone to keep an eye on them, to collect rent, you'd get sixty percent, I get forty. Obviously part of that sixty would go back into maintaining."

Azriel breathed in deeply and looked over towards the construction site. He watched his boys and men for a few moments, then nodded slowly. He knew he could do great things if he had the right resources. This certainly sounded like the right resources to him. If he didn't take the offer, someone else certainly would. "I'll spread the word around and get people interested. It won't take much... the people will be interested," he smiled a little. "Sixty-forty," he declared and unfolded his arms. He spit into one of his palms before holding it out to the god with a smirk.

Isambard smiled as he took the offer. It made sense to have someone who knew how the refugee socity worked to build the town up. Nothing worked if it was a free for all there had to be order. Anarchy was a severely flawed ideal. He smiled as the man spat on his palm and held it out. He spat on his own hand and took Azriel's firmly. "Excellent. I think I am going to enjoy doing business with you. You have my support, Elora, Cyrus, my right hand, any of my staff are there to support you."

Az gave a bit of a laugh at the mention of Elora again. He certainly would not turn down any help she could give him. "I will keep that in mind. And if I should need you directly?" he asked with a lift of his brow.

"Well i am usually around the building sites, I like to be close to the action." He was definitely not a god who liked to sit idle at all. "But if you need me I live in the Pantheon, the door, as you might expect is of cogs and gears. If I am not there my domestic Escha will take care of you."
