In the Northern continent of Occulas lies the spine that separates the deserts of Albanoch and the western lands of the Shard. The Aerie peaks on the west side are largely abundant in life, however delving past the first edges it becomes obvious that its far harder to live high in the mountains. On the east side the mountains are dry and hot and are much harder to traverse.

It took a mere half a day to ride all the way up north towards the western edge of the Aerie Peaks. Here, it is easiest to enter for deep inside it is treacherous and on the east it is far harder to get past all the sand and heat. With the air brushing passed the two of them, there was little talk beside the odd small conversation here and there that was possible thanks to little gadgets. Drawing near the location, Leah pulled one of her legs and caused for the bike to slide sideways to come to a stop. As the motorcycle finally let go of its grip on Aaron, Leah set up some options on the glass menu before her before cocking a leg up and over to get off her vehicle.
'We'll have to walk it from here' Leah sighed, perching her hands on her hips and staring up at the great mountains. She hoped there would not be too many trolls or ogres or... other disgusting things. If they were real unlucky, there would be stone giants. Though they're normally too busy strolling around and destroying pathways for Belfagoth to be attacking two small humanoids.

Aaron Eveans The journey was fast. That was the only way to really describe it. Aaron descended from the passenger seat somewhat steadily, stumbling only once while he tried to get his bearings with the ground feeling like it was moving beneath his feet. "That's," he hesitated before continuing after finding what seemed to be the right thing to say, "quite a rush." The adrenaline certainly was nice but to travel like that every day? He wondered how Leah did it. She certainly seemed to enjoy it. Eyeing the mountains with a critical glance, Aaron smiled at the thought of the wildlife that had to range the mountainous regions. Some easy prey for sure and it had been a while since he really had a job he had taken in for fun and not the price tag attached to it. There would be a few potential threats but they wouldn't be that much of a nuisance. The worst would hardly notice them, too enthralled with things of larger importance then them, if they were careful, the trip might end up to be fun. There was a small twinge of relief at the thought of walking the rest of the day. Here was where he felt comfortable, hiking through the wild on his own (relatively) and moving on his own power. Certainly the bike was efficient but he did enjoy the great outdoors. A doubtful look was cast at the bike then. "How will you move that through the mountains?" he asked, knowing there had to be some trick to the motorcycle.

((I am SOOOOO sorry for not replying, completely lost track of this thread D: :'())
Pressing some buttons on the side of the intricately designed motor vehicle she said "I won't" then using her hand to brush some of her lush hair behind her ear. Then the machine did the same as before, raising a turret but also inserting poles at four corners into the ground to keep ti steady. It then, with a similar sound of a camera, began turning invisible with nanotechnology. "I'll be keeping it right here" she then replied to him, turning around and facing him. "Hope you enjoy long treks, Mr Eveans".
It was true, this was going to be a long journey deep into the mountains where it becomes barren and wet, with rivers of dark water at the very depths and feet of the mountains. But will it all be worth it in the end? Sure, she offered him money, but she has never even mentioned what purpose she had here, what she wanted and why. But she was a mere woman, a lady with great intellect. What would cause her to do anything shifty. Well, what she wanted was the Emerald Jewel - the green brother of the jewels that fueled the infamous Jewel War all those years ago. This is one of the ones that were never found, but she heard rumours and found leads that it could be kept safe by Belfagoth, the moving mountain. Which, luckily, he should be passing through tomorrow evening. How fortunate. Her reason? With its power she could hunt down the man that left her life as a husk, and then avenge her misery.

Aaron Eveans ((It's fine!)) He watched as the bike disappeared, undetectable unless someone ran right into it and with how deserted this place looked like? That wasn't happening anytime soon. "You and that bike are just full of surprises aren't you?" he muttered, accompanying it with a low whistle. He said nothing in reply to her second statement, only shooting her a charming grin and whistling as he began to hike up the mountain with long loping strides. Though he kept up a casual, happy front, Aaron was somewhat uneasy about their mission. The money and his own darned curiosity kept him here though. There was something to be found out here and he enjoyed digging into nature's little secrets. They were always well worth the effort and his gut told him this trek into the wilderness would yield something great. But then again, his gut also told him this would be the most dangerous task he had taken on yet but he had always had a one track mind. The ends would be worth the means, he could feel it in his bones. So ignored the niggling sensation in the back of his mind and continued to walk, hands in his pockets and a cheerful tune whistled.

Following him up the mountain's foot, her robotic armour seemed to aid her somewhat, the hydraulics kicking into action when she had to take larger steps up steep surfaces. At least for now the mountain side wasn't too treacherous, still with patches of grass. Turning on her HALO system (Holographic Automated Location & Other System), the screen developed around her head as to help with her position and the judged position of the Moving Mountain.
"So" she then said, as they both came to what almost seemed a seasonally used pathway up towards the steeper parts of the mountain. "What's you're story? I hear you know a lot about the monsters that can be up... or down here. So what got you there?" she asked, interested in his past if he didn't mind sharing.

Aaron Eveans When Leah had asked about his past, his step hadn't faltered and his smile didn't fade from his face though inside he could feel his past overshadowing him and the beast within him snarling to get out. Shaking off the feeling, he turned around with a laugh. "Not much else than a lot of bad luck," he said with a natural chuckle, going to the cover story he told all his clients when they asked. "I had a fairly normal life, got into hunting because it was something I was good at," he said with a good natured shrug. And that was the truth, just perhaps not the whole truth. He did love nature as a kid and was always good at spotting details that other people missed. So he remembered being a tracker when his father went out hunting occasionally and loving the quiet. But while that might have been a good basis for his hunting career, there were other reasons for him to search all the monsters of the land because he was looking for one in particular...that was irrelevant. He smiled again, "All that information I got from experience though," he continued to explain. "My Father taught me a bit about it too," he added on and if there was a bit of strain when he said father, it was completely imagined.

Climbing up step by step, over crevice over stone, even over boulder occasionally, she listened to his story, though not a very wild one at that she took it in, he was a simple man."hmm" she said, pulling herself up over a suddenly more rigid slide of mountain. Here the dirt was dying out further and the edges became more rocky, more steep occasionally, meaning they had to pull themselves up a meter or so high ledge now and then. Placing her firm footing atop the next ledge she brushed her hair from her face and said "A bit of a family tradition perhaps?"

Aaron Eveans The terrain was getting rougher he realized as he heaved himself up another outcropping, legs light on the rocky outcroppings as he moved up the mountain side. Yeah, this was his element and even with a colleague, she kept up easily with that armor or hers so he pressed himself up a little faster, feeling a little carefree in his surroundings. While he wasn't the bulkiest guy out there, his wiry frame was carefully maintained so he could push himself to go faster. Muscle wouldn't help there. When Leah asked him another question, he kept moving though a flash of hate flicked through his eyes for a moment and he resisted the urge to laugh bitterly. Glancing at her out of the corner of his eyes, he felt a bit guilty at hiding the secret but he would keep this damn secret until it was absolutely necessary that she knew. And unless they were out here a lot longer than he thought, he would safe. He would be fine. Right? "You could say that," he said as he tested his footing on a rocky area before pulling himself up, pretending to be distracted.

With not much more being need said, the both of them ventured higher into the mountains. Now there were near the peaks, here the mountains seemed walk-able but all signs of grass and shrubbery had vanished, snow didn't even line the surface up here, it was just bare rock. It did however have a moist feeling in the air. The wind was stronger, but Leah was kept down by the weight of her armour. Taking a stand at the top, it was possible to look around as they had found an area that was more or less flat, except a few rocks here and there. All they had to do now was go down the opposite side and venture into the depths. But that won't be straight forwards, all the mountains inside the outer-layer were slippery, rocky and dull. Mountains between here and the other side will keep getting in the way too. But... somewhere along the way, they should find Bergrisok. That should be unmisable, a walking mountain with a mouth of lava?!
Then Leah's HALO flared up bright white, before a red dot appeared by her left eye and caused the rest of the HALO to shimmer completely red. Once the HALO had turned red, the dot appeared orange and continued to flash. Gasping, she used the HALO like a compass as she turned to face where it was pointing, the dot between her eyes now she heard some heavy breathing just below her eye-sight of the mountains edge. "Eveans!" she called to let him know something was on its way. Suddenly a compartment opened up on her thigh, releasing a long white katana that she pulled free as her armour closed once again. Holding it by her side she was side-by-side with Aaron, waiting for whatever it was causing her Arcaz tech to trigger. She was breathing heavily, cold air puffing out from her nostrils as she tried to evaluate the scene... there wasn't much to it, a... monster, and the edge of the mountain.
Finally, footsteps became much heavier, much louder, and groaning then began. Slowly, but surely, an extremely meaty head raised over the edge. Over one giant shoulder was a giant club, perhaps some fallen tree from somewhere, upon this giant, obese creature was nothing else but a loincloth, perhaps made of a entire cow skin, or two. "sh*t" cursed Leah under her breath, as the Giant then noticed its prey, with a roar it jumped up before them and pulled its great club down as it hit the floor. Her tech then flared up a screen of info, it was basic for now but it had at least identified it. "It's a Mountain Troll!" though of coarse, he probably already knew that being a hunter of that kind and all. As the club came crashing down between them Leah dodged and rolled to one side, now the two were split from each other. All that she knew about these trolls were that they were more intelligent than their greener counter-parts, evidently proud too by the looks of all the bones and skulls wrapped around its waist.

Aaron Eveans When the alert came he raised an eyebrow with a grin on his face as the familiar feel of adrenaline coursed through his veins. That was sure handy, he mused as he drew his gun, filling it with a new clip and flicking the safety off. It usually helped only if he got close enough to shoot them in the eye or if they were stupid enough to open their mouth wide enough to shoot...that happened more times than he could remember actually...stupid monsters. As the footsteps drew near, he knew it was large, at this terrain, not likely to be too large though, at this terrain? That was deadly. The mountain troll came well...trolling through and Aaron took in his first look and taking in the skulls, it was a smart one. "Crap I hate the smart ones," he muttered darkly, diving to the side when the club came down. Though it was most likely a nomad, in these sorts of terrains, it was rare for there to be large groups of the beasts. Too many landslides. He began listing facts as he ducked under the club once more, his eyes looking around their surroundings. "He's smart but not even close to human intelligence, sucky eyesight but a delightful sense of smell, oh and he's got a hide my normal bullets won't pierce," he rattled off as he swung up to a nearby tree so as to get a better view at the troll's piggish eyes. Considering the intelligence of his next action, he threw caution to the wind with a sigh at his own stupidity. "HEY BIG, BRAWN, AND UGLY!" he called as he raised his gun full of normal bullets and sighted down the barrel. Come on, roar already and be stereotypical...he pleaded mentally, making a decision to shoot his eye out if the troll wouldn't roar.

Atleast Aaron knew exactly what he was up against just as fast as she did, without the help of information technology! The two of them either side, Leah breathed heavily but tried to stay calm as she calculated the next form of attack. But Aaron was already on it, climbing a tree and pointing his gun, what was he thinking?! He already said how his bullets won't pierce its flesh. Leaving him to his own action she carefully waited behind the monster and to one side slightly. The creature then growled and brought up it's club to knock down the tree from its very footing.
Wide eyed Leah stared up and heard the gun shot, the Mountain Troll then let out a roar, showing a great graze on its cheek, lucky it had skin prepared for sharp mountains! Leah then ebgan wondering if her own blade would be able to cut through its flesh. Better try it out! Whilst it was distracted by its minor wound she ran between its legs, its crotch matching the height of her shoulders, she slashed once at its ankle, then ducked under it to slash the other side as she quickly stepped back to join Aaron. And just as she thought her blade barely touched it. "Have you got a better idea than me charging my blade for longer than it will take this thing to knock us off the edge?!" she quickly asked, looking around at the ground many, many feet below them, people, if any, looking like ants.

Aaron Eveans Oh yeah, the troll roared. Of course he had to miss though with his luck. Aaron threw himself over to the next tree, hand grabbing for a branch and somewhat succeeding in breaking his fall, landing with a tumble and a few minor injuries inflicted by flying bits of wood from the felled tree. Shaking his head to clear the remaining cobwebs from his mind, Aaron looked up at the graze on the troll's cheek, frown on his face. "It's vulnerable in two places," Aaron grunted as he fumbled for a better bullet through his pack, throwing himself to the side as the club came down with a crash. "It's eyes," another crash and his pistol was cracked open to remove the old ammo clip and ram the new one in. "And when it opens it's mouth. You aim right down the old gullet," he said with a smirk and a flick of his wrist to slam the gun shut and take aim at the troll's eyes. Just a general approximation should work...and he squeezed the trigger. ((OOC: Sorry for the wait! Finals week snuck up on me and studying became a hassle. YOU HAVE BROUGHT IN THE DOCTOR?! heart ))

Aaron continued to divulge information on how to injure or finally kill this troll, Leah meanwhile was evading each pummeling blow like he was, she wasn't going to get through its skin. But Aaron might, however, he took another aim at its face, and this time it opened its mouth wide to roar at them as it got ready for another downward strike.
The bullet was fired, and through the barren mountain tops echoed the small explosion. From the distance a small thud could be heard with the dismal end to a fearsome roar. Before the two of them flopped the great body of fat, muscle and bone. From the back of its head came blood that formed a small pool around it. With a sigh, Leah wiped her forehead and kicked the body slightly to assure it was dead. Her HALO then spun round as the infographics turned back tot heir usual beige colour. As her eyes darted around the screen that circled her head she realised they were alone once more, and then the system flickered before turning itself off. "Well" she began. "good thing i invited you"

Aaron Eveans "Good he's dead," Aaron said with a smile, emptying his pistol once more and placing the normal clip back in his weapon. Leaning down, he emptied another bullet into the troll's eye. "Just to be sure," he said with a shrug, clicking the safety and stowing the gun away. The thrum of adrenaline faded after a few minutes, the usual wave of exhaustion rushing over him. Letting out a slow breath he looked up with a smile. "Good thing indeed, we better get moving, monsters will on this place in a few minutes, I was a bit too loud," he said with a sheepish chuckle and a shrug though his eyes darted around a bit too warily, his guard up instead of the easygoing grin he had on before. His feet were quick as he moved up the mountainside, the remaining dregs of adrenaline hanging around his system. "There might be worse things than trolls on this mountain," he commented darkly. ((OOC: Sounds like fun! I need to create another one anyways))
