Class *** Titan
HP: 75/75
Description: An agile creature that is weaker but can fly, quickly and steadily. Attention must be paid to its movement patterns, as it will always descend after a small period of time, as its body is too heavy to remain in the air. Watch out for it's tail, which will jab at anyone nearby, and its venomous spray that it will spit.
Upon defeat: Has a 75% chance of dropping Insanity remains usable for the R & D. Each player rolls 1d100. If 76 or higher, you find remains (for that player). If 75 or lower, you find remains (for the player). ((Nyx confirmed with Zoo a while back))

While Candace had attempted to deter her from acquiring a pendant for the older Mist's use, Stormy still wanted to go out on more assaults. Not only did it keep her busy, but she had found that the monsters were the perfect thing to vent her anger on. And hopefully doing so would prevent her from frightening moments like what had happened when she went with Gale, when for a rebellious moment she had wanted to stick around and completely destroy the titan, experiencing the explosion and all.

Maybe she should schedule a session with Cass or something. Stormy didn't actually want to die, she just wanted . . . hell. A reason to be violent was probably the simplest explanation. Too much time being sugary sweet, too much pent up emotion.

In her head, Thane yawned, slow to rouse himself after her long nap (as was needed after a string of less than stellar sleeping habits). < < If it will stop the deafening noise in here from your constant thinking, then I say move swiftly. > >

So she did.

Only Stormy, still wiping sleep from her eyes, moved a bit too fast and collided with the door to the labs before she could open it. When she did enter, it was with watery eyes and hunched shoulders. Great start there.

The loud, dull sound of someone hitting the wall started Kostya out of his reading session, his back going ramrod straight in his chair. Someone entered the computer labs, and given their appearance, perhaps they had been the one to cause the ruckus.

"Am being okay?" he asked, head tilted to one side. "Needing ice?"

He had been reading up on the titans, on any information that was available to such a lowly trainee. An image of one of them, appearing to be taken with a grainy phone camera, was pulled up on his screen. They were terrifying creatures, to him, but he found their defeat necessary for advancement in their restoration of the island.

"N-No, I'll be . . ." She forgot to finish the sentence as she rubbed her nose and winced. Fear shields or not, it still hurt; shake it off and try not to look too embarrassed.

She'd read the name Kostya on the roster, but she hadn't thought more about it until she heard him speak. Perking, Stormy tried to remember what Lucky had taught her (because unfortunately, she couldn't tell the difference between Polish and Russian). "DzieƄ dobry!" she chirped as she approached (bad accent, wow she did this language a disservice), shrugging off her drowsiness and putting on a smile. "How are you? Is this your first run?"

She was doing better than before; normally Stormy would just ask about five questions in a row, but the awkward entrance had curbed her enthusiasm.

The concern dropped immediately in favour of a stare that would have frozen Hell over. Possibly twice.

"I," he said, turning back around to stare those cold daggers into the visage of a hideous titan, doing his best to ungrit his teeth, "am not being a Polak."

He had been here first, and yet, so many others knew of Lucky. His essence seemed to permeate the air, tainting it, ruining his home. Konstantin was not normally an angry man, but he was learning to embrace it. With a sharp exhalation, he muttered a "Dobroye utro," to the girl, fingers tapping against the desk.

"Is meaning hello."

He looked back at her through narrowed blue-grey eyes.

"In Russian."

Her other questions went ignored.

She visibly shivered and almost wished the stare came in the form of glaring daggers so that she could just casually stab herself a few times to make up for the faux pas. Not two minutes in and she looked like both a klutz and possibly racist (country-ist? language-ist?? uneducated???).

Good job, Stormy. Good freaking job.

"D-Dobroye utro," she mumbled quickly, ducking her head apologetically. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to assume--I've never met a Russian before. Your language is pretty. I-I mean, pretty much everything other than English is . . ."

Titan? What titan? Her boots were suddenly very interesting.

"So--I, um--Very, very sorry about that. Lots of wrong feet today. I'm Stormy, by the way."

Konstantin tallied points back into his mental record of the girl when she pronounced the words correctly.

"Lucky is..." He struggled with the words, in hopes he'd find a polite way to express his vitriol-- it was so often a chore, being eloquent in his native tongue, but speaking no better than a child in his secondary one.

"Is very far from friend," is what Konstantin settled for, his fingers tapping against the desk's surface.

"Good pronouncing." His accent was a strong one-- understandable, but only because he seemed to grasp the importance of speaking at a reasonable speed, enunciating words to the best of his ability. (He wasn't always successful.) The appreciation for the way his language sounded was lost on him: this was the first time anyone had actually complimented it in a way that was obvious for Kostya to grasp.

It was a good enough olive branch for a second attempt.

"Konstantin," he replied, turning in his seat, offering his hand. "Not first run, ah, but. Still very not skill. Not knowledge enough."

Stormy, who was very aware of simple phrases standing in for something much deeper, bobbed her head in understanding. Russian, Polish--if other people mixed them up like she did, why, she'd be annoyed too! Although she couldn't understand why someone would dislike Lucky . . . Then again, Stormy wasn't one for holding animosity; even in the case of her ex arriving on the island, she preferred avoidance to conflict.

(Or she just plain couldn't fathom disliking someone for a long period of time. Running away was so much easier.)

"Oh, um, thank you!" she replied, quick to leap onto something that would net her a second chance at a first impression. "I try! See, 'cause I really love listening to accents, and after a while you start to hear--um, it's hard to explain--the shape of sounds? Like if you watch their mouths really closely and get exposed, after a while you can start making your mouth the same shape, so the same sound comes out, and it's a little weird at first, but I think it's funny to watch people give me weird looks when I switch to Spanish and sound like a native--well, no, that's different since I am Hispanic--"

Realizing she was ranting to vent that social anxiety, Stormy stopped herself and took a breath. "Hah . . . Sorry. Um, right, the titan thing! I've been only been a few times before, but we'll be okay!" she cheered.

Nothing could go as badly as her first attempt, surely.

She bustled to the table to get her equipment on. "At least you won't be the one launched! Those things have nasty breath up close."

Kostya was, for the most part, a polite man-- it was really only Lucky (and Robert) that he held particular disdain for.

His lips did quirk at her rambling, and he felt his initial ire smooth out. She had not, of course, been ignorant on purpose, or with any sort of malice. She seemed nice, at the very least, even if she was on friendly terms with him.

"Could teach you, later," he said, moving to get his equipment on as well, exiting the browser and shutting down his session on the lab computer. "Some more vords, if desire. Can get. Hmmm." Lonely wasn't the right word; how could it be when he preferred solitude? But he often felt dim and dull-witted in comparison to the other hunters. "Isolating."

Fully geared up, strapped in, and ready for pain, Konstantin offered a sharp nod in Stormy's direction. "Is fortunate. Heights, ah...Vell. Not agreeable, vhen in so much motion." He stood at attention. "Am ready, vhen you are."

Isolating . . . Well, she had to fix that somehow! She visibly perked at the offer. "Really? That'd be awesome, thank you!" Stormy cheered. She treated languages like Pokemon: gotta catch 'em all. "If you want, I could give you some English lessons? Not that yours is really bad or anything," really she was used to heavy accents thanks to her parents, "but it can always be improved. Or, um, Spanish if you want?" It had to be an equal exchange after all!

But first things first: titan time! Once secured, she braced herself for the flight and launched into the air.

At least it was far smoother this time. Maybe that violent need coalescing inside clarified her thoughts and silenced her nerves.

With a grunt Stormy landed on the titan and immediately got to work. Grasping the infuser, she found a light blue spot (which she remembered being a weak point last time) and stabbed one in. The titan roared, and she winced through it as she tugged the cord three times to give Kostya the all-clear to move forward.

"Vould be nice," Kostya agreed, startled by the offer. He and Mimsy used to ...teach each other, but it had been so long since their last mutual lesson.

"Do not know Spanish-- but, vant to master English first."

He filed the info away that she was bilingual, too, and watched her soar. She tugged on the line, and he struggled to drop it into the ground-- the anchor just wouldn't take.

A bead of sweat trickled down his neck, and it was fortunate that his next attempt took.

"READY," he yelled, holding the line taut, eyes trained on Stormy's figure.

He would keep her safe, to the best of his abilities, and summoned Syntax, his form taking shape around the Moon trainee's arm. He could use his blasts to distract the titan when the time came.

"Right." She winced as the titan roared again, lurching to the side as it fought against the cord. Getting to work, she stabbed Thane between its plates and held on, remembering far too well how much they liked to buck.

They didn't have an advantage like before; this would have to be a quick job or they'd risk dying. Again in her case.

"Down, boy!" she yelled at the creature. "Please go quietly into the gentle night for Mama Stormy!"

She seemed off to a strong start, burying her weapon into the titan's weak spots, holding on for dear life.

He saw the creature's tail curl upwards, aiming for Stormy's back. "Look out!" he yelled, struggling to fire a blast in the general direction of it, knocking the tail askew just enough to disrupt the strength of its full blow.

You can do it, he found himself thinking, holding the line, eyes trained up where Stormy was fighting. He felt so useless being relegated to a purely defensive position.

Fortunately, she could watch out; unfortunately, that was all she could manage. Her weapon was too far lodged in to get it out in time as the tail snapped upon her, though it could have been worse--

Which came in the form of the titan trying to take wing. Its body rippled into action, jostling her further as she clung to her weapon and fought for balance. At least it managed to stay buried?

"We're good!" she managed to shout, half-way dangling as the titan fought against its restraint.
