In his efforts to behave, Thackery strayed as far from the buildings as he could, paying close attention to the boundaries that his nice hunter friend had set down for him. It was kind of difficult to tell where some of the areas ended and others began, so he always tried to err on the side of caution. Ensuring that he didn't get her in trouble was of utmost importance.

It was not long after establishing mental notes of those boundaries that he became extremely bored. Hanging out in the observation area hadn't been so bad - lonely, definitely, but not bad. But now that he could see the expanse of land, and could smell all of the incredible new scents, and could watch the clouds in the sky, it was so tempting to just do something.

Without anyone to play with, and no mirrors to make another Thackery, he resorted to the desperate measures of his youth. Okay, one year ago.

The sun was warm, the sky moderately cloudy, the wind playing with the grass. It was an especially nice day on the island that housed Deus Ex, and the Cerberus was happily expending his energy by playing fetch with himself in the training fields.

The day was beautiful, and there was nothing to be gained by sulking indoors, Shiloh much preferring the warmth of the sun on his face than the stale air of his dorm room. Most areas were off limits, however, especially to him, and with a soft sigh, he made his way to the training fields. He figured he should probably practice anyway, after his abysmal performance against Taym. Haruka housed no complaints, of course, eager to clamp her jaws onto anything she could.

She sensed something was different long before Shiloh did.

Her sudden alertness, as though he could feel her ears pricking forward in his head, alerted him, and his eyes swept the expanse of the fields carefully.

"What is it?" he voiced softly, not sure what had set her off edge until he finally turned, and spotted what looked like a black dog playing in the grass. "Someone's pet?"

Haruka knew otherwise, but she also knew Shiloh, and the Inugami felt it would be best not to correct him. Shiloh brought his fingers to his lips, and whistled. He couldn't help but smile a little, it had been so long since he'd seen any sort of animal. If it was someone's pet, which he was fairly certain they weren't allowed to have, it would be best if he could scoop the little guy up quick, and return him before he got caught.

"Here puppy," he called, patting the tops of his legs enthusiastically. "C'mere!"

This was usually a game that Thackery played by himself when he was lonely, since it was obviously better to just play regular fetch when in the company of other fetch-playing parties, and the sun and hints of loneliness made him feel a bit nostalgic. The warmth had come from the ground back home, before Amityville, and it wasn't often that he was separated from his brothers, but this was exactly what he'd done when he was. His eyes closed as he ran in a large circle with the stick in his mouth, halting midway through when he heard his mother call--

No, it wasn't her. He shook his head and remembered where he was, eyes settling on a nearby human. It must have been him!

He was more than happy to come when called, even if it was a stranger, and he dropped the stick he'd been playing with in favor of something better. Mouth now freed, his tongue lolled out of it as he crouched down and took one quick leap, bounding towards his new friend.

The momentum he built up was a bit much for just a friendly greeting, however, and it was clearly evident that he would accidentally tacklehug the human if he didn't back up or step out of the way in time.
