His first experience as a knight was not going well. He had been walking home from a gig, a little jittery from the crowds (though his pockets were heavy and weighed down with tips, which was good), and then he'd felt -- something. An aura, something that felt powerful. And with it came memories and feelings and now Galunlati was in dire need of something to drink, something stronger than coffee. But somehow that didn't feel right, not when he now knew himself to be a knight. The idea was laughable. He would be the worst sort of knight, and he had spent most of the gig wondering what had happened, and whether or not it had been because of the eclipse. Or whether he was just going crazy. Thankfully, it hadn't affected his performance, and he had made rent money -- but now he felt lost. He stood at the corner of the street, in the weird shifting darkness (night was so much darker without a moon, when he'd never noticed it before), and considered options. ZaiaFantasy orz I hope this is okay, this is my first powered RP XD

Shalott was getting back into the swing of things after the baby and her powered up hiccup. She felt a bit more sophisticated in her knight costume. It was longer than she was used to in the skirt and the cloak felt nice and fancy. She was patrolling around the city without her husband tonight. With the baby at home they were careful to leave Sarah with a sitter or take turns patrolling so that she was always safe and cared for and, to be honest, her husband was a bit distracted lately. Finding out his son was a senshi wasn't easy for him, she knew.
A tug pulled her from her thoughts. She felt and aura of another knight nearby. It felt like a page. She hadn't met one in a very long time and smiled, heading toward it. In the wake of her mistake she was determined to do what she'd always wanted to do, nurture the newcomers to this war in the hopes that they would not feel lost or alone. Given the young age of most of the warriors she felt that had to be a common problem.
"Hello there." Shalott smiled in what she hoped was a reassuring way and smoothed her skirt. "I'm Shalott and I'm a Knight of Earth. Now...you must be Neptune?"
The coloring of their costumes was quite unique.
phoenix kiss just an FYI - he can't feel auras out of costume. I wasn't sure if he was in or out of costume in your post

He jumped. Not quite out of his skin -- but it was enough to startle him, leave him a bit flushed. He tried to slide his hands into his pockets, but his costume didn't have any. Which meant he awkwardly slid his hands over his hips before just giving up and facing the -- Knight. "Neptune," he said, and she might have thought he was just parroting her words for a moment before he added, "Galunlati. I'm a page -- and completely new." He had a good voice, a musical one, which would have been pleasant if he hadn't been completely overwhelmed by the past few days. "As in a couple of days ago new. It's nice to meet you."

"Oh, my! That is fresh off the farm, isn't it? Don't worry. You'll get a feel for it soon enough."
Shalott remembered when she was brand new, showing her discovery to then just a friend Camelot. How excited and confused she'd been and how useful he was in helping to guide her though he wasn't much further along than she was. It had been quite a journey from that point to this one. There was a lot she had to get used to and some tough decisions she had to make.
"It's nice to meet you, Galunlati. It's rare that I meet Neptune knights."
The mama bear sensed that this guy was a little ragged with all that he was taking in and she happened to know the place pretty well. Well enough that she knew there was a park pretty closeby with benches. That was probably a good place to get off their feet and talk. Sometimes talking about it really helped.
"Come on."
She led him down the street and up another, used to walking about in costume by now. She probably could have been leaping buildings by now as Camelot had shown her but her long skirt was cumbersome. Walking was much safer. Once they reached the park she found a nice bench inside and gestured to it
"Why don't you have a seat? Tell me about it. I'm here to help."
He must have had a hundred questions. She knew she had.

He looked around -- wouldn't people be .. a little weirded out by two people in weird costumes sitting down in the park? Talking about who know what? Then again, the park was a magnet for weirdness; he'd seen some weird things himself just passing through.
He took a deep breath and rolled his shoulders back as he sat down, pulling all of his hair over one shoulder -- careful not to mess up the intricate braids and the feathers. And then blinked his big blue eyes at her. "What does this all mean? I've been having weird dreams, and then this--" he gestured to the costume, the ombre leggings he was wearing. "This is crazy."

"Oh, it never stops being crazy."
Shalott knew that for sure, at least. It had been more than a year now since she became a knight and she could safely say that it never got any easier. Having a powered life was complicated and hard to manage. Her costumes had evolved as she had going from something a bit skimpier to what she wore now. Elegant though it was she looked like she stepped fresh out of a Renaissance Faire.
"You get weird looks and feeling auras is something that takes getting used to and, well, the whole dual life aspect is complicated at best."
Or, at least, it had seemed so to her. Her experience might not have been typical but it was all she had to comment on.
"But the trade off for that is helping people. You'll want to pull out your hair but when you save someone from a youma or from being drained by Chaos it suddenly becomes totally worth it."
It helped for her that she had a wonderful husband to help her every step of the way. He was her partner and an older knight than she was to help her understand the steps before she took them. That was what she wanted to do, help new knights in their awakening. To be a better force for Order.
"I don't suppose you have any questions I could try to answer? You look a little lost."

"A little lost," he said, feelingly -- "a lot lost. What's a youma?" He had watched her throughout her monologue: his blue eyes had just gotten wider and wider until he looked like he was facing down a freight train. He was liable to bolt at any minute. "And what do you mean," he added suspiciously (which for Shadow was not very suspicious at all), "a dual life?" ZaiaFantasy a tag! sorry this took soooooo long. orz

"That's to be expected. We all are in the beginning."
If she hadn't had Camelot to go to, to ask questions, she would have been lost too. As it was he took her under his wing at a time before they were lovers, while they were still friends. She trusted him because he'd tried to protect her daughter. Now she felt it was her mission to do the same, helping new Knights in their awakening to better serve the people. She couldn't do the fighting, but that was ok. There was more than one way to win a war.
"Youma are...well...they used to be human. They're what happens when a human takes on too much chaos and they can't handle it."
That was the working theory, anyway, and the only explanation she could offer. When has asked his second question, she blinked in surprise. Kyn thought he would have figured that out on his own, at least. She thought maybe he'd be having a hard time with it but a fact was still a fact.
"Um, we can't tell anyone who we are, not our civilian identities. It's too dangerous. The other side will hurt those we care about to get to us if they catch on to anyone around you. You have to guard this powered side of you closely."
Though, so far as she knew the only unpowered people in her family were her daughters and the dogs.
