As ever, there was a pull. He was in a way starting to hate this pull. He'd left Devin and his gram some time back, but he wanted to go back, to see the Sawsbuck who had treated him so nicely...so....normally there was something about the other... well he was happy in the others company. Still, he was answering the pull he felt and as he traveled he learned more about himself.
Such as he wasn't the cause of the trouble that followed but rather the fixer of it. He helped the helpless, saved those needing saved, and so on...and it filled him with more pride for himself, and what he was.
And so...he was walking and traveling trying to find the cause of the current unease he was feeling. It was something that needed fixed in a big way he could tell.

Molly...was sad. She hurt. She was scared. She was lonely. She was stuck sitting in this stupid wheelchair with the stupid nurse who smelled funny...like she didn't wash herself or brush her teeth...or maybe it was stinky perfume. She always called her honey and petted her hair like she was an animal and she hated the stupid nurse because she was stupid.
Molly was also cranky. She wanted to walk, but couldn't. She had her leg in a cast as well as her arm, so couldn't get around like she would have normally, throw in her being blind as ever and well it wasn't a good combination. Today she'd cried till the nurse finally agreed to take her outside. She'd been bundled up and wrapped and set in the wheelchair and covered with a blanket, and a hat and a scarf and then the nurse had left her!
She didn't care. The smelly nurse was gone and she was alone and could think and worry. What happened to Briar? No one had told her...and of course there was Jacen and Draven! She was so worried about them! How long had they been here? So long...too long. Daddy was too hurt to go home so they were stuck here for awhile he said. But she wanted to go home! She wanted to let the others know they were okay. Even though they weren't.
A deep sigh came from her and she sat there staring off blankly tears silently rolling down her face while her father sat in their room, stuck in bed unable to get around from his own injuries watching her through the window. He was unhappy she was alone but knew his daughter hated her nurse. So he wouldn't complain so she could have some peace.
He rubbed a hand over his face lightly and sighed, fingers brushing the bandages wrapped around his head and eye. He had several broken ribs, had dislocated a few things in his back, re-injured previous injuries from the car wreck that took his wife and son...he was lucky to be alive he knew. Still, it left him worried. He hadn't had the heart to tell Molly that Briar had run away from the pokemon center...that he'd had someone go to the house and Jacen and Draven were gone.
No, he couldn't break her heart when he could do nothing to comfort her.

Jacen was in someone's garden. He wasn't sure whose garden, or even if he would have been welcome there. But the garden in question was filled with bright pumpkins and squashes. Something edible, at least. The vanilite boy had struggled for days, finding food. He had finally, regrettably, learned to steal. Only the night before had he run off with a man's hamburger when he'd been looking the other way. One day, he vowed, he would repay everyone he had stolen from. But now, it was the only way he could survive.
He didn't notice Noble. He instead bent to pick a few of the smaller squashes and packed them into his bag. That was when he noticed the teenager. A squash fell from his hands, and he stammered.
"I'm sorry! I didn't know anyone was home! Er, that it belonged to anyone!"

Noble had been watching the pokechild for a bit, silently observing wondering what he was up to. His reaction to seeing him...well it explained it all to him.
"This isn't my house actually." he gave a light smile and a shrug. "Though I suggest you hurry up before the rightful owners show up." he didn't condone stealing and he reached into his bag and pulled out money and left it where the stolen foods had been. It wasn't much but it was something.
"Come on, walk with me and we'll get you away so you don't get into trouble. I'm Noble, and you?"

Jacen stared at Noble for a long moment, before giving the teen a smile. "Thank you!" He exclaimed, stashing the last squash into his bag. And the older boy had paid for them, too! Was everyone around here so nice? He had met Petaya, who had attempted to adopt him on the spot; and Ismire, who had invited him to be her brother. This boy seemed as nice as they were! It must have been something in the air.
He nodded in understanding. "I'm Jacen," he said. "Thank you for helping me, Noble." This boy lived up to his name, the vanilite decided. He was as well, noble, as it suggested. "What are you doing here, if its not your house?"

"I travel a lot. I don't have a home. I stop places sometimes...but I go around helping people at times. Sometimes I feel this pull...right here in my stomach and up in my head...and I follow it till I get where I'm needed....and here I am."
He gave the boy a smile and motioned off in a direction. "I think we should go walking this way." it felt like the 'right' way to go really.

"Come on honey you need to come inside, it's cold out here you'll get sick."
"NO! I don't want to go inside! It's noisy inside, and boring, and hot and I want to be out here!" Molly's voice was high in her upset, higher than it'd ever been and she was angry! She hadn't been outside that long and it wasn't that cold out!
In fact she felt sort of over warm being so bundled.
"Well I'm not staying out here with you honey so..." "You didn't stay out here anyhow you went back inside! GO AWAY! You're STUPID! I don't like you!"
Molly began to cry again with wracking sobs. "I just want to go home! I want Jacen! I want Draven! I want Briar! I want daddy!" she cried more pressing her gloved hand to her face, screaming in defiant rage as the nurse laid a hand on her shoulder.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!"

"Oh. Me either. I don't have a home either." Maybe he should do what Noble did? And help people! Maybe he would. "So you came to help me?" He asked. He had a brief moment when he thought to tell the older boy he didn't need help. "This way?" He echoed. He paused, stiffening. "I hear... I hear Molly!" He exclaimed, dashing off towards the voice.
"Molly! Molly!" He cried, following her cries. He spotted his sister in a wheelchair in front of a strange looking building. He reached her side, panting and out of breath. "Molly!" He cried, studying her. He was horrified by what he saw. He swallowed. So he hadn't been abandoned? She was hurt!
"Where's Papa?"

Noble followed along with him a nod being given at the question. "It would seem I did indeed come to help you." he was talking to himself at that point as the boy ran off talking about someone named Molly. He trailed along, taking in the scene, of the human girl sitting there in a wheelchair looking in the wrong direction as some woman talked to her.
Of her going still and wide eyed at the sound of the boy by her...and he couldn't help but smile as her face lit up into the happiest smile he'd ever seen. Yes, he'd come to help.

Her name...she could hear her name...and...was that Jacen?! Her anger evaporated as she felt the familiar coolness coming from beside her and she shifted as much as she could her good hand reaching. "Jacen?! Is that you? Oh Jacen! I've been so worried about you!"
She was crying again happier tears this time, and Colby...well he was seeing this all too and he had tears dripping from his unbandaged eye, a relief settling over him. Jacen was his boy after all. He still worried about the two pokemon...he was quite fond of the dragonite especially but he thought they'd be okay.
It was Jacen he'd worried the most over.
"Papa's inside. He's hurt really bad. That day me and him and Briar went to go to the store, we were going to get stuff to surprise you with because you were almost all better and papa wanted to celebrate...that's why he left Draven with you to keep a watch on you..."
She took a deep breath, and a frown flitted over her face. "There was a loud noise Jacen...and the car started to move around...and then there was a loud crash and we were rolling and falling...and I hurt....and then I couldn't stay awake...and when I woke up there was fire and smoke and people taking me and papa away saying Briar had been taken to a pokemon hospital to be helped because she was hurt too."
She swiped her hand at her face, looking to where she could see him to be. She didn't know how bad she looked, the technicolor bruises healing on her, the cuts and scrapes, in one spot a slight burn. There was a cast on one arm and a leg. There was other injuries that while she felt them couldn't see them.
"Come on. We'll go inside, papa'll be so happy to see you!"
The nurse who'd been silent narrowed her eyes. "Oh no honey, he's not going in there he's" "HE IS SO! He's my brother and you're STUPID! Shut up! I don't like you! Jacen and I are going to our papa RIGHT NOW!"
It had to be said, Molly's patience was at its end. She was sore on top of it all and this woman was on her last nerve. Noble stepped in about then. "Come on Jacen, we'll get you to your papa." "Now wait just a moment here you can't." "I can. I am. Thank you." Noble smiled at the nurse and took hold of the wheelchair handles and began to push.
"Who...who's there Jacen!?"

"Its me!" Jacen assured her. "Don't cry, Molly!" He exclaimed, taking her good hand carefully. He studied her as she spoke. "Papa's hurt too?" He asked, lip trembling. He understood now. He hadn't been abandoned! He had abandoned them! And he had told Draven--he had told Draven they had been abandoned... It was his fault the dragonite was gone.
"Briar's at the Pokemon center?" He asked fretfully. Would Briar be alright? Would Molly? Would Papa?
"Do you think so?" He asked. He blew a loud, rude raspberry at the nurse. Really, she thought she could keep him from seeing his father? "I'm his son. You can't keep me from seeing my Papa. Unless you want to go home early. As a popsicle!" Having been on his own a second time had changed the vanilite boy. He had been lonely and hungry. He wasn't about to allow this nurse to tell him what to do."
He followed Noble, and said, "Its okay Molly. He's nice!"

Molly's hand curled tightly around Jacen's and held tightly not about to let go. "Papa's hurt bad Jacen. For awhile they didn't think he'd be able to walk again...but he can, sort of. He hurts a lot though. It's why we're here. Because he can't take care of me at home, and I can't cook myself food and stuff, and I still need care here."
She sniffled some but certainly looked happier now that he was there. "That's what I was told. Where's Draven, Jacen? Is he with you?" she hoped he was!
Noble didn't think that was the case but remained silent, and before long he found the right room and wheeled Molly in where Colby shifted a bit and gave a smile at Jacen. "My boy...I was worried we wouldn't see you again. Come here..." he held out his hand to the boy while Noble carefully lifted Molly and got her into her bed.
"I found him a bit ago and we were going for a walk together. I think he was just lucky to find Molly here." his words gentle as he tucked the girl in carefully.

Jacen hesitated. His lip trembled, and he shook his head. "Draven ran away," he lied. "I looked," that part, at least was true. "I looked for days. But I couldn't find him. I'm hoping we'll find him together. Maybe Noble would help them find him! He took Colby's hand and gave it a squeeze. "Papa..." he sniffled. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry! I ran away. I'm sorry." He clung to his father's hand. "I I thought you'd left me. But I found you! I'll take care of you and Molly! I promise!"
The boy moved himself closer to his father, burying his face in Colby's bedclothes. "I'm sorry, Papa. I should've known better. I should have known! I could've come to help."

"Oh...Briar'll be so sad when we finally can get her from the Pokemon center..." Molly's voice was soft, and Colby sighed. "She ran away too. A little after we were brought here. She was healed and woke up and ran away. No one could find her. We can just hope maybe they're together."
His hand stroked over Jacen's hair. "I'm sorry you thought we abandoned you son. I'm glad you were with us, you'd be hurt too and I don't want that. I'm just sorry you felt you had to run away. But you're here now."
He looked to Noble, who was lingering in the door at this point. "If you tell me who, or what to look for...I can make no promises but I can simply say I'll try."
Colby nodded and explained to Noble who Briar and Draven was, and the Keldeo teen smiled. "Alright. Maybe I'll find them in my traveling, hard to say."

"I hope so," Jacen muttered. He really did. He knew how much the pacirisu and dragonite cared for each other. He was sure they would find one another, one day. Love had a way of bringing people back together. He was proof of that! "I waited a long time. A day or two. No one came, and I was scared, Papa. My first trainer, she left me in the middle of the woods during winter. I thought maybe I had done something... Something to make you want to get rid of me too."
He lifted his head, and slowly turned to gaze at Noble. He moved and ran to wrap his arms around the teen. "You did know how to help me!" He exclaimed. "You brought me to my Molly and my Papa!"

Molly was frowning at the news that both of the pokemon had run off, a worried look on her face as she sighed some. "I hope they're okay."
Noble blinked as he was hugged a pleased smile crossing his face. "So I did Jacen, and I'm glad I was able to help you too." he hugged the boy back and ruffled his hair. "I should go. You three have plenty enough to do without me here."
As in resting, healing, that sort of thing. "We would never make you leave Jacen you're part of the family. I'm sorry we didn't come home, it was unavoidable though." Colby gave him a sad smile. The poor kid, really.

Jacen wanted Noble to stay, but knew better than to ask him to. He had other people to help. Maybe people like Jacen, who needed to find their papas and sisters. He nodded in understanding, pulling back from the teen. "Thank you for helping me," he said. "You're the best!"
Jacen studied Colby for a long moment, before grasping at his hand. "I know that now, Papa. I love you. I'll take care of you and Molly."

Noble smiled at the boy and nodded. "You're welcome Jacen, it's what I do, I help people." he looked at Molly who was dozing off. "Hopefully you find the others...or they each other at least."
Colby was settling back and patting the spot next to him so Jacen could settle if he wanted. "Thank you for finding my boy." "You're welcome. I hope you both get better soon." "Thank you."
Looking at Jacen, Colby smiled. "I love you too Jacen and we can all take care of each other. Hopefully, I'll be able to be let go soon and we can all go home." "Home would be nice. I don't like it here...and my nurse is stinky...and mean." Molly muttered softly.
