Ms. Molly had enquired about shadowing him some time ago, and he had the good graces to apologise upon remembering this forgotten arrangement. It was early on a Tuesday, a little after 7am, and Mimsy had just gone to sleep.
It was a good signifier that his day was ready to begin. He had Underwater duty today, which was unfortunate for her. It would be very boring to watch him read all day. Nonetheless, it was a promise he had made to her, and he was a man of his word. (Most of the time.)
Opening his phone, the Moon hunter sent off a text.
Quote: To: Molly From: Konstantin Greetings. Still am needing to shadow? Free today. Duty at underwater.

Molly was currently situated at her desk in her room, which she had pushed closer to the window. After all, sun light was precious, especially to see with. She was jotting down the notes she had collected so far into one planner, though she paused as her phone chimed. Blinking, Molly checked it…and then suppressed a shrill squeal of delight. If Molly Finn had one dirty little secret, it was Kostya. Er, well, okay, that could be taken wrong. It was that she’d do just about anything within reason to hear him talk. Oh yes. Very scandalous. She was quick to tap out a reply. Quote: To: Konstantin From: Molly Hi Kostya! <3 Yes please! Alright, that works out perfectly! What time should I meet you there? Actually, Molly didn’t need to shadow a trainee…but she was just making an exception for this one. astrabot No problem! Thanks for starting! <333 I squealed when I saw it : D

Kostya had no way of knowing that a kind, friendly girl was lying to him. In fact, he was rather easy to fool: his suspicions were not nearly so frequent as they should have been. He lived on a tropical island, surrounded by suspension of his own disbelief.
Quote: To: Molly From: Konstantin Is good to hear. I shall be at underwater post in 15.
Satisfied with this message, he clothed himself, and set about fishing around his room for an MRE, and settled on eating it as he walked to his destination. There was not much to do in this posting, so there was a dog-eared copy of Stranger in a A Strange Land tucked into his coat pocket.
He arrived precisely at the appropriate time, heading inside with a slight grimace, and settled into a seat.
A part of him worried if his work would be too boring for Molly to glean any useful information, but there was nothing to be done about that, now.

Molly usually would have replied to that text, but after Kostya said he’d be there in fifteen minutes, she had some preparations to take care of. Rope. Duct tape. Chloroform. One by one these items went into her bag. She was going to fix some of the Canon Cat furniture after her time with Kostya. Oh speaking of which! She also placed a recorder into her bag as well. She needed it to…keep track of what Kostya was saying so that she could…take notes later…yes… Tee hee. The Mist trainee appeared not too long after Kostya did, and upon sighting the Moon trainee, she beamed brightly. “Good morning!” She chirped, clasping her hands together over her stomach. “It’s so good to see you again! Thanks so much for agreeing to let me shadow you! I really appreciate it.” She then fell silent very fast…so that she could listen to the voice angels. astrabot I'm so sorry it took me so long OTL School is eating me

Upon seeing Molly, Kostya offered polite nod of the head and wave, greeting her with a pleasant "доброе утро*."
He set his book down on the end table in front of him, turning to face her entirely. "Is also good to be seeing you. Am glad to being of help to cause."
Casting a baleful stare at the window, and the occasional tentacle that slapped up against the glass, the Moon trainee remained slightly self conscious. This was going to be quite boring for poor Molly.
"Is not entertaining," he said, sheepishly scratching the back of his head. "Vant to be doing, ah, card game? Or somesuch, to pass time?"

Molly had a very dreamy look on her face, and while she heard what Kostya was saying, she wasn’t exactly paying attention to the conversation. It’d been such a long time…and she totally missed any wild tentacles popping against the window. There was a lull in the trainee speaking, and then Molly realized that she actually needed to speak too. “O-oh, I’m sure it’ll be more than entertaining!” Molly assured, and then moved to get settled in a seat as close to the trainee as possible. She then took a moment to get her notebook plus her tape recorder out. She beamed and looked up at him. “Actually…” She started, looking a tad sheepish. “If you could tell me everything that you know…or don’t know…about the equipment you use in your Division…that’d be really helpful! Please go into full detail and don’t leave anything out…um…it’s very important for my notes…Please?” Her eyes may have been glimmering a bit as she asked.

Konstantin wouldn't know dreamy from dreary, most days, and remained completely oblivious to his own charms. He bristled as Molly got closer, but she was...not quite actually touching him, so with a slight nervous laugh, he forced himself to remain in place.
"Everything?" That was...that was a lot, and he honestly was unsure about how to describe all of it. But he had to try, for the sake of her notes. "Okay."
So he began.
"Am Moon trainee. Is meaning that am front line of defence, to Suns. Ve serve not to be 'power house', but to be shields. Protect offensive line. Life and Moon both be doing lots of field healing vork, but Life is more, ahh. Long term? Back at base or vhatever outpost is being set up? Moon, is more about healing on go. Patching up long enough to keep going, and going, and going." His words were accompanied by hand motions that slowly grew to be more and more animated as he continued.
"So, many uses of bandages, shielding vork, and general being meat shield. Heheh." He looked at Molly, just to see if he was on the right track, seeking her approval.

Molly was enthralled in Russian accent to notice that said Russian was a bit uncomfortable as she settled near him. “Yes, everything, please.” She breathed, her eyes wide and gleaming. As Kostya spoke, Molly just stared, though her gaze seemed a bit unfocused as she lost herself in the sound of his accent. Her chin was resting in her hand while the other held the tape recorder…and well…almost everything Kostya had just said she already knew, but that was okay. He could recite to her the alphabet and list all the colors for her again in addition to the numbers starting from 1 and she’d still thinking it was the greatest and most interesting thing since sliced bread. Once there was a lull, Molly sorta of snapped back to it. “O-oh…that’s great…please, keep going…and if you could also tell me all you know about the equipment…or don’t know, even, that’d be wonderful.” She sighed dreamily.

Molly looked, well, a little bit ill. Her eyes were glassy, and her cheeks just a little bit flushed. He stared at her, not quite believing her words.
"Are you being okay?" he asked, his worry overwriting his dislike for physical contact. Not entirely, but enough to check on her. "You are looking ah, not vell?"
He chewed on his bottom lip, worrying it. "Can be going to get Life person? For medicine?" The last word allowed for a particularly strong appearance of his accent.
Digging around in the backpack at his feet for a moment, he talked quietly to himself, the words barely audible. "Я надеюсь, что ей в порядке. Может быть, она работает слишком сложно?*" He procured a bottle of water, still sealed, as well as a bit of beef jerky and a small packet of crackers.
"Here," he said. "Take."* I hope that she is okay. Perhaps she is working too hard?lucyal asdasdasd me too omfg where did time go CRY

Molly looked rather surprised when Kostya was turning the questions around on her, regarding her health none the less. She blinked repeatedly, before she shook her head a bit and waved a hand at him. “Oh, I’m fine! Thanks for your concern though!” She beamed. “I’m fit as a fiddle right no—“ She paused, watching curiously with a tilt of her head as Kostya started to dig through his bag and then produce some…well, snacks. The trainee was a bit stumped. She wasn’t sure if anyone had ever…turned the mothering tables on her before, much less when there wasn’t a reason to be concerned. But she was very, very, very touched though. The voice that was attached to those hands was giving her some things. Tee hee. Molly may have been blushing a tiny bit, and a bit flustered, wasn’t able to politely decline the offer. Instead, she placed her own items on her lap and then took what was offered. “O-oh, thank you so much! You’re so kind!”

He didn't quite believe her, as she had no obvious overtures of lying, but it tended to be a thing people did when they didn't want to be 'fussed over.' He had seen it with Mimsy, and it was just not right in this world for kind red-headed girl to go overlooked, too.
Mothering mode had been activated.
"You are quite velcome," Kostya replied, his face gravely serious. "Is very important to keep up vith sustenance. Are you having fever?"
The last thing he wanted to do was physically touch anyone, but he accepted the fact that brief contact might be necessary to gauge whether or not Molly had a fever. He peered at her closely, his stare very intense.
"Have been getting enough of sleep?" It was a little bit accusatory, but only a little. He had to make sure that her well-being came first.

What was this? The Russian Inquisition? Of course Molly didn’t have that thought, but maybe that’s what it felt like. Actually, Molly was a bit baffled right now. She was fairly certain she wasn’t sick…but Kostya just seemed so adamant about her health right now! This session, while mostly just an excuse to listen to the Russian trainee speak, was also being held so that she could learn about the equipment knowledge in the Moon Division. How did it turn around to be about her— Molly was snapped out of her musings when Kostya suddenly filled her entire sight, and to make matters more against her favor, that intense stare had her blushing even more. Oh gosh, ahhh! He was staring so intently! AHHH! Molly’s eyes widened and she started to wave her hands frantically back and forth, as if this would some how assure him. “I-I-I’m fine! I promise! I don’t have a fever and I always eat breakfast and I get plenty of sleep every night, I promise!” She tried to assure him. “N-now…about that equipment…” She laughed a bit nervously. Too bad Molly couldn’t voice that the only reason she was getting flustered right now was because of all this attention that was getting placed on her.

It was indeed the Russian Inquisition, and Molly could bet her sweet booty on that fact. Not that Kostya would ever think or acknowledge that fact.
Even if his proclivities skewed in that direction, he was far too busy investigating Molly's health. The redhead promised to him that she was fine, but he couldn't stop his eyes from vaguely narrowing in suspicion. "Vell," he said, leaning back a little, "that is being good. Do not vant to see you unvell because of common habits."
He pointed at the water bottle in her hands. "Have some. For me. Pozhaluysta, please?" Kostya crossed his arms. "Vill return to topic if do."

Molly got even more nervous and red faced when Kostya stared at her with suspicion. Oh gosh! Oh no! She was a terrible person and— Then he leaned back, and no joke, Molly felt a bit of a relief and like she could breathe a bit. Kostya had amazing inquisition powers. Very amazing. So terror. “Y-yes…” She agreed, managing a nervous smile. “It would be sad to see someone be unwell because of that…” Or lack there of. At his request though, well, Molly couldn’t argue, even if it was still making her feel a bit uncomfortable to be at the center of concern. “A-alright!” She unscrewed the cap, and took a few gulps of the water. “Th-thank you…” Her smile was less nervous now, and she placed the items off to the side to resume her tape recorder and clipboard for note taking. astrazilla Oh, Kostya, Molly loves a man who just takes charge and-- I can't even finish that I'm cracking up way too much XDDD

"Glad to be seeing you agree," Kostya said, and it wasn't a smile but it was a nod of acknowledgement, the slightest quirk of the lips: enough to show that his heart was lighter, especially once Molly appeased by hydrating. Hydration was important, Molly.
"You are velcome." He leaned back, relaxing some against the seat, looking thoughtful. Where had he left off? Molly was spared the Russian Inquisition, until--
His blue green gaze snapped back to Molly. "Ah, am remembering. Vun thing have done is post care after mission. Being ready at portal, prepare with bandage to start healing, transport to infirmary, collect equipment...Count losses. Must be prepare to assist life division, if not on active mission vith group. Vhile many go to be shield for hunter, much to do on base as vell, vhen mission done of large scale. After many came back from backwards house of vhite, vas there to collect people."
A sigh. it was the most he'd said in one go about his job in...well. Ever.
"Am not very good at job. Am maybe go to death, to see. If it is more vhat vant to do, da?"
