Dakota waited for Molly to show up on the field, setting up the practice dummy like he had for the team that he trained for search and rescue, as well as preparing any other things he needed to. She was going to get the best moon lesson ever.
As well as him fidgeting nervously about maybe asking about marriage to Candace and stuff....Maybe.

Not only did Molly feel official holding a clipboard to take notes with, but she also felt excited to have a purpose and well…that she got to spend time with Dakota! That was also srs bizness. Two birds with one stone! The Mist trainee bounded onto the training field, offering the Moon Hunter a bright smile like usual. “Hello, Shawty~!” She chirped, and came to a stop before the young man. “Thanks so much for letting me shadow you for the day!” She gushed, hugging her clip board to her chest.

Dakota shuffled until she got there, then smiled when he saw the red bounce of curls heading his way. Feeling much more relaxed when she came up, since she seemed to have that effect, he tucked his hands in his pockets.
"Well...yeah...I figured if I helped you out, then you can help me out with something too..." Dakota started to fidget again.
"Uh okay, I can start with the easy stuff. Moon's really focus on defending things...We build walls, set up field tents and areas, secure perimeters with death, stuff like this."
"Um so like..." Dakota pulled out his weapon, "It'd probably be best for you to summon your weapon and set yourself up in a defensive position like this..."
He waited....
"I think I might ask Candace to Marry me...."

Molly blinked curiously when Dakota said she could help him out with something. Oh! Maybe like…he wanted to talk about equipment and safety? Because that’d be wonderful! The trainee nodded her head, jotting down a few quick notes, but looked surprised and unsure when Dakota told her to summon her weapon. “Oh…um…but Shawty…! I can’t take notes and handle my weapon at the same time…! Besides, I’m just following you around for the day, not participating I thi—“
The clipboard fell out of Molly’s hands though, at what he said next, and her mouth fell open as well.
She stared at him wide eyed for a moment, and then her hands shot to cover her mouth. She continued to stare at him, and then she finally started to clap her hands together excitedly as a wide hopeful smile crossed her face.
“REALLY?” She cried.

"Well defense is more hand on. I mean I can't tell you how to build something." Dakota crossed his arms, shrugging a little. "Sun and Moons are on the battlefield more than they are at home base. That's where Life and Death reign." He shrugged again and then looked at her as she played fish with her mouth.
"Yeah really, LOOK YOU CAN'T TELL HER." Jesus, he rubbed his hands over his face. "We've been dating for almost a year, and I've known her for a bit longer and I already know there isn't another woman for me so....I don't know, You don't think it's stupid right?" He hesitated, "Like....it's not stupid for a kid like me to ask her to marry him right? Help me out here Molly."

“W-well yes…but…I’m just…um…observing?” She offered, her brows furrowing. “But also asking questions too…! Um…specifically about equipment and safety…”
But that suddenly took a back seat to what Dakota was now telling her, and her clip board stayed on the ground as Molly more or less started to kira-kira at Dakota, her hands clasped together. “Oh, I won’t, I wont!” She gasped, horrified that Dakota would even suggest that she’d tell. “I promise!” She further emphasize her point, she unclasped her hands and held out her pinky to him. “Oh my goodness, no!” She exclaimed. “I think that if you really love her and if she really loves you, then marriage is the next step!” Or so all the movies on Lifetime said. She then shook her head. “Oh, I wish you’d stop saying that…you’re not a kid, Dakota…! You are perfectly capable of making decisions like this…and besides…if you were a kid…well…I don’t think you’d be with Miss Candace…”
Yeah, that sounded right.
She beamed.

He had a point to argue, he swore he did but it just kind of like....
"So......well I guess the safest equipment we work with is Bandages and Barrier daggers, gotta have plenty of those on - Look I don't know how to ask her either." He back pedaled, "I mean it doesn't feel like we've been monogamous for long, and it was nerve wrecking for both of us to do that." He brought his hands up and down and all over. "How am I suppose to bring marriage up to her?"

Oh! As Dakota started talking about some equipment she picked up her clip board and jotted down these things, but as soon as the conversation switched back to marriage, she dropped it again and clasped her hands.
“Um…well…” Molly’s brows furrowed as she tried to piece her thoughts together. “Well…you two being monogamous…isn’t that…pretty much like being married already?” She asked, her brows furrowing even more. Molly’s hands unclasped to rub her cheek in thought. “Well, Dakota, I think what people usually do is get down on one knee—“ Molly then proceeded to do so, to demonstrate, and she looked up at the tall Moon Hunter. “And then you go ‘Candace, will you marry me?’” She held out a hand. “But you usually have a ring too…um…that’s how it usually goes in the U.S. anyways!”
That Molly, so helpful.

Dakota was pacing now, pacing around her, so he didn't notice her habit of dropping and picking it up.
"Well kinda. I mean for us it just means that we aren't really seeing each other. We started with a open relationship instead of a closed one? And it was a big step for Candace..."
He worked two angles. "When you're using barrier daggers make sure that they are used to set up a perimeter of safety, they aren't perfect but they are often the best source of safety when in the middle of the field." He turned to her, watching her get on one knee and made a weird laugh sound at her.
"Ha Ha Ha." He put his hand in Molly's, reenacting a flustered girl. "Molly, I could never, are you really?" He batted his eye lashes at her.
"But be serious here Molly. I mean SRS TALK MOLLY." Dakota crouched down close to her, "Candace is afraid of marriage, I can't even ask her when I already know right away the answer is going to be no. How do...How do I work it in her brain so that she's thinking of it until she practically is just waiting for me to ask?"

As Dakota brought up the equipment again, Molly immediately picked up her clip board and made notes. “Um…” She started softly. “Do you feel like the majority of the Hunters in the Moon Division know how to properly use these items…and if they don’t…how?” She looked up at him, only to notice that he was crouching down with her now, and Molly scooted closer to him since this was ‘hush hush’ business.
“I am being serious!” She replied in a hush whisper, and brought her clipboard up to her lips as she listened to him. Oh…oh yeah. That part. Molly almost forgot that Candace was anti-marriage with her rose colored glasses on. The trainee paused. “But…doesn’t true love prevail?” She asked seriously. “It happened in all the Disney movies!” But as he asked how to bring it up, Molly fell silent and stared straight ahead as the hamster in her head ran the wheel.
It was running that wheel really hard.
Molly hummed.
“Well…I think…” She tapped the clip board on her chin lightly. “I think…you should approach her like she’s a nervous cat…so you’re right…” She smiled sheepishly. “Outright asking wouldn’t be good…um…I think just…maybe little things…to get it in the mind? I mean, when we see red, and it’s close to February, we think of Valentine’s day, right?”

"You know, I don't think so really. Saya and Ryan did pretty well on the mission but they don't have clearance for some of the runic stuff. I'm not really a moon trainer to be honest." Dakota sighed, "I trained the team I picked for search and rescue missions and even then I don't know how well we'd be doing."
He knew the safety things for all the things okay. He was a good moon hunter, not the best but one of the better ones.
He continued his position of crouched down with her, keeping his head ducked towards her.
"I don't think you are." He teased, before putting his finger in the ground and poking at whatever. "True love can prevail but jesus Molly, She's an adult. She's a woman you know? One who has been through some unsavory love things. I don't want to scare her off because you know...." Obviously he was trying not to do that. "We aren't exactly a disney movie Molly, and I'm not really a prince." Dakota shuffled a little in his position.
He could almost hear the gears in her head. Working hard time. He'd have to treat her to something once he got some kind of portal thing going on for him.
"Well that's true...but I am not the most subtle of people...Can you help me out? Maybe take her out on a girl's date or something....get some of those idea's in her head?"

Molly jotted down more notes, nodding her head as she listened to Dakota. Okay, this was all really good stuff to know! As the Moon Division was the defense of Deus, they definitely needed to know safety things and equipment usage to protect themselves! Molly gasped. “Oh no, I am! I AM!” She insisted, fretting, and then made a sad face before she replied. “I think you’re a prince, Dakota.” She informed him seriously with a nod. “You’re brave and heroic and you save the princess!” She beamed, but then got back to the topic at hand. Actually, when Dakota asked that favor of her, she looked like a deer caught in the head lights. Cue some inner panic. How was she supposed to put those kinds of ideas in Miss Candace’s head, when she didn’t even have those ideas herself? That seemed awfully hard… but Shawty was counting on her…she couldn’t let him down! Molly gulped. “I…I’ll try my best…!” She squeaked, still looking horrified that she wasn’t up to the job. “Um…I’ll try as soon as the portals are open and we can have leave…”

"I think you think too highly of me." He warmed a little at being called a prince, bumping shoulders with her again. "I think you are a princess, and I am some lowly begger man. And Candace is queen." He made sure to add that, "Candace is a regal queen. Jesus ******** christ, how do you propose to a Queen."
Maybe he could ask Rep for idea's.
No bad idea.
Very bad idea.
"What Princess have I saved..." He squinted, "besides the princess golems because let me tell you, if we go off that, everyone on the island is a prince." Dakota sniffed, suddenly feeling unprincely again. Well then.
"No no, we gotta treat this like a battle Molly. We gotta start soon. Today even." He started to frantically wave his hands, "If we wait for portals, I'll be waiting for the end of all days. D-day. We won't even get V-day because D-Day and there's some days we need to worry about!" Dakota rambled a bit.
"By the way, Have you ever figured out your things with the boy you love?" CUE LOOK.

“Nooo, don’t say that!” Molly cried. “A queen needs a king to go with her, right?” She reached and tapped him on the nose. “So maybe you need to start thinking of yourself like that!” She then tapped her chin. “Um…after all…if you think it long enough and hard enough, it will be true, right?” Molly paused. “Um…w-well…me…?” She offered him a sheepish grin, and then looked embarrassed as she muttered: “I don’t really think I’m princess material.” She then reached out and patted him on the shoulder. “Chin up, Dakota—oh.” Molly suddenly looked even more nervous once Dakota declared this to be a battle field. Oh…well then. Oh dear. “I don’t think you can battle a nervous kitty, Shawty.” She whispered, but furrowed her brow and got back to thinking about what she could do now… Until she was blushing red very suddenly. Molly looked panicked and waved her hands wildly. “Wh-what do you mean? I…it’s not…I don’t….ahhh…it’s fine!” She paused. “IT’S GOOD. It’s all good! Um… Well…I’m happy just to love him from a distance.”

"Now I'm a king!??!" Dakota mocked faint of heart, "Molly, anymore pedestal and I will be god next." Not true but close. "Nah, I like the idea of being a simple guy. I got a simple guy's heart Molly, i don't want all that extravagant stuff..." He just hoped Candace didn't either.
"Yes you are." She might deny it, but Molly was as much a princess as Candace was a queen. If this was the medieval times, he'd be bowing to both of them because they were just that great.
"Yes you can. We just have to be smart about our battling, so it doesn't seem like a battle. We should come up with code words or something." Was he really getting into this, or was he really getting into this.
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" He reached over and squished her cheeks, "No Molly, You need to tell him."
