Penelope was constantly looking over her shoulder. There was never anyone there when she looked, but that did not keep her from repeating the motion time and time again.

Ever since the battle with those strange... other selves with Sessrumnir and Melchior, nothing had seemed safe. Somewhere out there was a dark version of herself that had come with the previous night's eclipse. This would be the third night since the initial eclipse. On the first night, there had been flying bunnies. On the second night, that battle with the monochrome version of herself and the two men with her... the ones that seemed to desire their deaths. The memory of it made her swallow and tighten her coat a little against the evening chill.

She shouldn't be out at night. She knew that. If any of her friends knew that she was out here, they would be furious with her. So, why was she on the streets? Perhaps because patrolling had become second nature to her... and just because she was terrified of henshining at the moment did not mean that her duty had changed. So, she walked the streets and clutched the pen in secret in her purse, hoping it wouldn't be necessary to use it.

But she could hear footsteps coming up behind her, two sets - as though someone were running away from someone else. Her grip on the henshin pen tightened when she realized... it was getting closer. Ducking behind a building, she whispered the words of her transformation. "Pasiphae Eternal Make-Up!"

When the chains of beads snapped away, Eternal Sailor Pasiphae was ready to face whatever came. She merely hoped she wouldn't run into herself during the process.

There were too people running towards Penelope at that moment, so she wasn't wrong in her assessment at all. At the moment, Sailor Vespa found himself in one of the most awkward situations of his short career, probably even his short life, as he was being chased by what his superior officers warned him was a Shade of himself. A doppelganger, and quite an ruthless one at that. When he had first spotted him, he thought he was looking in a mirror or that he had stumbled a White Moon trick, but he immediately knew it to be a lie when his doppelganger struck him, right in the jaw and sent the blonde tumbling back.

He had been fighting this shade of himself off and on, trying to lay a few blows in and taking flight every time he looked to be gaining the upper hand or when others were drawing close. It was bad enough that he seemed to be failing miserably at fighting his own shade, but he didn't need to drag others into the fray, especially those that sought to capitalize on his misfortune.

And what rotten luck he had! He fault the Order aura far too late to stop in his hit-and-run tactic and when he turned the corner, he came to an grinding halt. The Senshi was familiar, and it was hard NOT to remember her from the convention, and he may have allowed a little bit of that spite drip from his voice, as his focus shifted solely on the White Moon senshi in front of him. "Y-you! Enemy of the Negaverse! I'll drive you right out of-"

So focused that he missed the flying kick to his back that came from his shade and he soon found himself tumbling forward at Pasiphae's feet with a yowl.

Vespa's priorities are adorkable.

Maroon eyes widened in surprise at the sight of the Corrupted Senshi and only widened further whenever the second one turned up to kick his blond counterpart in the back. Apparently Negaverse Senshi were also being plaged by the doubles...which meant that his life was in danger.

Pasiphae did not hesitate. Yes, she remembered this Corrupted Senshi from Destiny Con as well. She remembered the intensity with which he had attacked, his shrill announcement that he was only following orders. Yet, she still reached down at her would be attacker and pulled him to his feet. She would not, could not, just stand by and let him die. As with all of those taken by Chaos... there was still hope to save him. She had always believed that, had often tried to save people like Carnelian and Euclase only to be taunted and rejected again and again. Maybe this would have a different result? If he could see that they didn't have to be enemies...maybe he would question those orders he lived by.

Or maybe it would go exactly as it always had, with them eventually devolving into fighting. Either way, she could not just leave him to be killed. Her voice was quiet, but the look on her face was serious. "You've got to keep running. If you see one of me... I think it'll ignore you, so just keep running, okay?"

Vespa knew that he shouldn't have accepted her help, being the enemy and a strong one at that, but he felt as though he had little choice in the matter. He felt Pasiphae pull him up to his feet, and the moment the world stopped spinning from his shade's attack, he pushed himself away from the Eternal senshi.

"I... I don't run from the enemy!" Vespa said with a growl, curling his fist but not striking out against her. The back of his head throbbed, but it wasn't enough to distract him from the danger in front of him, and the danger that was now upon him. His shade gave an animalistic howl, going for a punch and Vespa tried to dodge, slamming against Pasiphae's to push of them out of the way.

This wasn't a situation he wanted to be in right now. Caught between his murderous shade and an enemy of the Negaverse! At least one of them wasn't actively trying to kill him, and he looked down at her from where he landed on top of her, scrambling to his feet and trying to block his dark half's blows. "And I don't need help! Get out of here already... I think I can handle this imposter!"

It hurt to be rejected. That was true for Penelope Seneca and for Eternal Sailor Pasiphae. She could not blame the Corrupt Senshi for his distrust, on the one hand. He had obviously been poisoned against her and her allies - as all others had been. She bit her lip, but she stood her ground. If he was not going to run, then neither was she!

Pasiphae gave an oof whenever he pushed her down... but the action gave her hope. He had intervened to keep her out of harm's way. Perhaps she could still convince him to work with her after all. "Fine. We'll fight then. Please... let me help you." How pathetic was it that she had to plead with an enemy to help them? Pretty pathetic, but she had to try!

She dove after the monochrome version of theCorrupt Senshi with a punch aimed at its face.

"But... I can't fight with you..." Vespa floundered with words, just like he always did when there was a member of the opposite gender nearby, and it didn't seem to matter if they doned a sailor suit and which side they were on. A woman was a woman, and Vespa, nor Scott, were good with women. Even as she stood her ground and threw a punch at his shadow clone, he wasn't keen on the idea, and he made his reasons clear to her. "Not sure if you noticed, but we're not on the same side here, and I'm pretty sure my superiors would be upset if they found out that I was working with a Senshi of the White Moon..."

Not to mention how shameful it would have been that he'd have to rely on another Senshi, a White Moon Senshi, to help defeat his shadow clone. Was he truly that pathetic? His clone, however, seemed just as excitable and prone to failure as he was, and it was a double edge sword for the Wasp senshi. It would mean that defeating him wouldn't be too difficult, but what it did mean was that he himself was just as pathetic, as Pasiphae's strike sent the shadow clone flying backwards. He tumbled and rolled, wrapping himself up in his dark, lengthy locks, and giving Vespa that chance to strike at him.

"Oh... fine... but we can't tell anyone about this, or I'll be in big trouble, okay?" She may have pleaded at him to help, and he'd return the favor with a plea of his own. He knew he couldn't take on his shade on his own, and he was afraid to ask members of his own court. If he was unable to defeat himself, then no doubt he'd be unworthy their assistance, right? This was a test that he couldn't afford to fail, and if it meant accepting help from the enemy... then what choice did Vespa have? He couldn't afford to die here. His shadow clone hisse and snarled, pulling himself out of his tangled hair, just as Vespa returned the kick from earlier, driving his knee straight into his nose and visor and sending him back a few feet. "I'll take care of you after we've dealt with him, okay?!"

The Shame Senshi understood his reluctance. The Negaverse could very well harm him if they knew of her involvement, although she had never known them to strike against Carnelian. Maybe it was a new policy, in keeping with their rekindling of large scale attacks such as the one at the Carnival and Destiny Con. They were not on the same side, at least not currently. That didn't mean that they couldn't be in the future, if he chose. Now was not exactly the best time to broach the topic of purification, though, with such a violent Shade.

She took a step back whenever the Corrupt Senshi launched himself at his hair-entangled double. "I won't tell anyone. I promise." Then, she took up a defensive position. She was waiting for an opportunity to jump in and help him further. Both combatants fought vicously, desperately, against each other. The kick sent the double flying and that gave her the time to rush over and throw a kick of her own.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 31, 2013 9:43 am

While this senshi seemed earnest in her promise, she was still a senshi of the enemy, and for that alone, Vespa knew that he couldn't completely trust her. She could have easily tried to destroy them both with a single blow, and while he wouldn't have blamed her for jumping on such an opportunity, it didn't make him feel any easier about this whole situation. It was a mistake waiting to happen, and try as he might to focus his attention on his murderous shade, his mind kept wondering back to Pasiphae.

What was she doing trying to help him? What was her goal in all of this? Why did she insist on helping him when she could have easily have destroyed both of them and be on her merry little way? Why was-

His kick connected but it wasn't enough to get the job done, as Shade Vespa managed to break out of his own hair and grabbed at Vespa's leg, wrapping his fingers tightly around the muscle and hurling the startled Corrupted towards the approaching Eternal. Whether it was his intention or not never once crossed Vespa's mind, and he gave a shout, bringing his arms up and preparing himself for the collision with Pasiphae. "DODGE!"

And the shout he heard from the shadow version of himself made him squeak. It could use his own magic against him?!

This... was going to hurt.

Vespa's Scount Attack
Sailor Scout Attack: Vesperian Scout Flight
Sailor Vespa apparently has forgotten the difference between bees and wasps, but this attack will still sting quite a bit. He holds his gloved arms out, palms upright and from his palms comes a small cloud consisting of twenty wasp shaped yellow and black energy. It will swarm everyone within a four foot radius and when it makes contact with the flesh, the opponent will feel what can only be described as, well, wasp stings. Once the attack as hit either flesh, clothing or anything of resistance, however, it will ‘pop’ and disappear and if left not hitting anything, its duration lasts five seconds before dissipating. Can use twice during a battle.
+ Will pop and leave a stinging sensation on the opponent; does not penetrate clothing (will dissipate upon contact)
+ If they don’t hit flesh, clothes or other forms of resistance, the stinging will last 10 seconds
+ Affects everyone (even teammates and himself) in a 4 foot radius around him; meaning that Vespa may point them in the direction they need to go, but attacks indiscriminately.

Vespa's mind was not the only one racing, but while his focused on trying to understand her motivres, Pasiphae was trying to decide what to do next in the fight. And once the fight was over. What if he just turned on her the minute after the Shade was defeated? What if she somehow ended up doing more harm than good, both to Vespa and to her reputation? All she could do was her best to try and save him...but what if her best was still not good enough?

Her leg was raised in midkick whenever her companion urged her to dodge, but she lowered it to avoid him running into it. It meant that she was not, in fact, able to dodge. The Corrupt Senshi came tumbling into her and the two of them went rolling, with Vespa ending up on top. She was going to ask if he was alright... but then she heard the call for magic and saw yellow and black energy wasps coming their way!

The last time she had been stung by wasps had been in the Surrounding, when swarms of insects suddenly appeared from nowhere. Ths time, She had no time to call for her shield, and even if she could have... it would not have covered Vespa at all. The Eternal reversed their position, curling around the boy to protect him. Some of the black and yellow wasps popped against her boots and wings, ... but the only ones she cared about were the ones that managed to bypass her fuku. Three or four stung her shoulders and others her face and made her hiss in pain. Was this... what Vespa's magic did? She knew that the Shades could mimic the magic of the original... and she made note of the ability in case she needed to know for later.

He knew just how much of a failure he was that he was hoping that fate would have been much kinder to him and let him pass for once, and yet, the mistress was still cruel and petty as usual. Vespa slammed his eyes shut and was preparing for the pain, though he knew just how little it would do him in the end, and yet, he felt himself being turned over, rolling over and finding himself on his back. It was enough to cause him to open his eyes and drop his guard, and he watched in horror as the White Moon senshi took the stings for him. Was she mad? Didn't she realize how much that would hurt?!

"Wh-what are you doing?! Are you...?" He wasn't sure what to say or do- he had a girl on top of him, dangerously close to him, and while that fear was still present in his mind, another pressing matter was buzzing inside his head, but not literally, thankfully. Thanks to Pasiphae's efforts, none of the energy wasps could make it past her, but that did absolutely nothing for his conscious, as he watched her take the attack that was meant for him. "That's not a smart thing to do! I'm your enemy- you shouldn't be shielding me like this..."

Yet, the pained shouts from his shade gave him some inkling of hope, as he was not immune to his own attack's sting. The few that had hit his bare shoulders were enough to cause the monotoned Senshi of Wasps to gasp in pain, and it gave Vespa an idea. He apologized to the Senshi that protected him before trying to shove her off, preparing to summon his own magic but only once he could wrap his arms around his darker counterpart. "Hey, you use shields, right? Do you think you can put one around yourself in a few seconds?"

Pasiphae endured the pain of the strikes, biting back any cries of her own as she saw the negative emotions rising in the boy's eyes. She forced a warm smile on her face at Vespa's protests. She moved a gloved hand to touch his face and whispered reassurances, "I'll be fine. We're allies now, not enemies. Sometimes allies take hits for each other. No one should stand alone."

She winched whenever she was shoved off, the residual soreness lingering from the strikes. Pasiphae nodded slowly to show she had understood. Why did he want her to put up a shield? Maybe he would launch an attack adn then hide behind it? Either way, she followed his instructions and summoned her most basic shield, "*Pasiphae Shameful Isolation."

*--Shameful Isolation - Defensive
Upon speaking the name of the attack, the beads of Sailor Pasiphae's mask break off and multiply, surrounding her with an energy shield that protects her from attack. The shield can last anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds, depending on the amount and intensity of attacks absorbed. Sailor Pasiphae's movements will be restricted by her shield as long as it lasts.
--Drawbacks -
Only works on Sailor Pasiphae
Only works for a limited amount of time
Reduces Mobility
Can be broken by a powerful enough attack/multiple lesser attacks

Her touch was completely unexpected and no amount of steel nerves or visor could stop his cheeks from flashing bright red or hiding the bewilderment in his eyes. Vespa really, really, REALLY wish he wasn't in the middle of a battle right now, even though it totally spared him from having to get into an in depth debate on how this White Moon senshi seemed disillusioned that they weren't enemies. Just like Thraen and Avior, they all seemed to be oblivious of the undeniable truth that they were on opposite sides of the war, therefor obviously enemies, but there was no time for such prattle now. Not when his double was now fully recovered from his own attack and now charging straight for him, the murderous intent in his eyes set solely on him.

The White Mooner said something, and seconds later, a shield fell around her, only confirming that this was, in fact, the same Senshi he had encountered at the Destiny Convention. He was still clueless as to why she'd help him, considering his part in that massacre, but he had little time to think of that when his shadow clone was upon him, trying to wrap his gloved fingers around his throat and only making it to his shoulders before the real Vespa was able to grab him and holding him back.

"Alright, let's see who's stings are more potent, faker!" Vespa shouted through grit teeth, desperately trying to hold the fake at bay and not touch the shield that he was getting terribly close to, step by step. At this range, there was no way for his clone to dodge, as he summoned his own attack. "Vesperian Scout Flight!"

Though his hands were tightly grasping his clone's arms, the wasp-shaped energy sprung from beneath them, taking to the air as some looked to be crawling up the monotoned Vespa's skin. The effects were immediate to both parties, the few that hit Pasiphae's shield dissipating harmlessly as the two Corrupted screeched in pain outside the shield. The shade tried to break free, but Vespa held on tightly, calling to the White Mooner behind the shield. "I have another one... ready to use! The minute your shi-yeowch-shield drops, go! I'll hold him-owowowow-off!"

Pasiphae noted the touch of blush on the cheeks of her ally and, in return, her own cheeks became dusted with color. They had been put into some compromising positons thus far, due to the frantic and brisk pace of the fighting. She watched in horror as the Shade momentarily took the upper hand and her temporary ally stung the both of them. Her own stings were slowly ceasing to ache, but that did not mean that she could not empathize with the boy still fighting.

The Shame Senshi shook her head immediately at his suggestion, a note of steal entering her normally soft tone. "I won't leave you!" She stood still and waited as yellow and black wasps bounced harmlessly off her own maroon shield. As soon as it fell, she ran to try and seperate the two and drag the real Corrupted Senshi off. "We either go or fight together... if I leave you here, you'll both just keep stinging each other!"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 08, 2013 12:27 pm

No matter how many times he had stung himself with his own attack, he could never, ever get used to the sensation of the stings that racked his body, and his only saving grace was that the wasps were nothing more than temporary spurts of energy and not like a real wasp sting at all, otherwise he'd swell like a balloon and die. Still, they hurt like hell, and he took very little comfort in his counterpart's cries, as his mind looked for some kind of solution to his problem. His attack, though painful, wouldn't be enough to destroy him, and the Wasp senshi was sorry to admit that he was out of ideas. How did one kill a senshi, even one as pathetic as him?

And what was worse was that the White Moon senshi insisted on sticking around. As her shield faded and the last of the energy wasps dissolved into nothing, she had pulled him away from his shade, and Vespa managed to get an annoyed spat out before grabbing her hand and pulling her away from the swinging arms of his shade. "You should want that- let the enemy defeat itself! It's not your problem!"

But now she was his. His shade was relentless, striking again and again and forcing the real Corrupted senshi to keep pressing against Pasiphae to keep her behind him. More and more he was seeing this senshi as a fighter and less as a woman, as there was no time to fight the nervousness that usually kept him stuttering and blushing when around them. It was flight or fight, and vespa, knowing that he couldn't even possibly think to defeat his double, pushed her into a run. "Let's get out of here! Go! Move it, White Mooner!"

Pasiphae knew from experience, all too recent experience, that those stings hurt like the dickens. The lingering sting from those magical wasps, however, was nothing in comparison to the sting that her ally's words gave her. Perhaps he was right. Maybe she should be able to stand back and allow two enemies to eliminate themselves. It made a cold, calculated sense.

But underneath the finery of a Senshi was a warm heart that did not want to watch anyone get hurt. In the two years of being a part of this war, she had seen others suffer, and had suffered much herself. She had watched people get hurt; she had watched people die. No, no matter how much 'sense' it might make to the logical part of her mind... she could not just let it occur. It was not in her.

So, whenever the Corrupted Senshi pulled her away from another strike, she said quickly, but firmly, "We don't have to be enemies. I wish you would believe me." She did not ressit his efforts to get her to run, but her mind raced for a more permanent solution.
