It was late enough that most of the shoppers had gone home for the evening. Really the only people left were the stragglers, stuck in that limbo time between people who had to be home at a reasonable hour, and those who camped out inside clubs and bars until they closed.
Which meant the streets were blissfully abandoned. It was lat enough in the season that Disneya shivered lightly, sending a cascade of sparkles from the puffed shoulders of her fuku. Seriously, It she had to dress like a kindergarteners Halloween costume, at least it could keep her a little bit warmer in the fall. Regardless, disneya continued on her stroll, looking for all the world as if she were intent on just a leisure walk. The lazy click of her heels on the concrete echoed loudly, even now, powered as she was, she let her eyes wonder over shop windows, mentally marking places she would visit later in the daylight, as Trinity.
Just because one was supposed to be keeping the world safe and other such nonsense didn't mean she couldn't windowshop.

Sailor Tantalus was out for a stroll of his own, and he was much warmer, he suspected, than the pretty young senshi a few feet in front of him. He had taken residence between two buildings, a good place from which to watch for people walking by.
He walked out of the shadows. "You look a bit cold, miss," he said, already unwinding his scarf. Certainly he hated being cold, but he hated seeing a lovely young lady cold even more. "It's rather late, are you sure it's safe for you to be out?"

Disneya blinked and paused in her troll, turning to her side to look over her shoulder at the young man who came out from the shadows. Now that she was actually paying attention to what she was supposed to be doing, she could feel the aura about him was different... darker, then the other senshi she had met. But he didn't really seem to be putting off ways of hostility.
In fact, his inquiry seemed rather genuine, and so unless he attempted to strangle her with that lovely scarf of his, she didn't feel inclined to bolt. Plus... well, he was just a rather lovely example of the opposet gender. " Ah well, It's something that just cant be helped, I suppose " She said, giving him a small smile, that in her day to day life she reserved for the offspring of her fathers business associates, polite and sweet, but not a "true" smile. Whether she was talking about being cold, or being out at such an hour, was unclear.

Tantalus slid his scarf off, walking forward and offering it to her. "Can't be helped? I disagree. It's a shame to see a lovely young lady shivering." His scarf would come back the next time he powered up, he suspected, so he could certainly lend it to her for the moment.
"If I may ask, what should I call such an elegant young miss?" Alright, so perhaps he was turning on the charm, and a bit more than he ought given that he was seeing someone, but nothing was going to come of it, and he could certainly be friendly, no?

Disneya started slightly, wondering if maybe he was going to strangle her. But no, he simply offered it to her like an old world gentle man. She blinked again, wondering what type of "enemy" this chivalrous piece of man candy was.
A smile broke over her face, a true smile, not the one she had before, which was more of a fall-to mask expression then a genuine show of happyness. " Why thank you " She took the scarf with gentle care, it was so long she had to wrap it around her neck twice, settling it comfortably around her shoulders. It was soft and luxurious, and if she had been alone she would have given a quiet purr. She was always one to appreciate a fine articular of clothing when she came across one, and even though she had no idea what it was made of, it was unbelievable comfortable.
Disneya grinned, almost hidden by the loops of her borrowed scarf, " Disneya. You can call me Disneya " She said. She quite enjoying being flirted with, and this particular instance was no exception. " And you, kind sir, would be...? "
She tilted her head, letting her pale blue eyes linger over him in a covertly appraising manner. Slowly... Tantalus's scarf started to exuse faint sparkles just like everything else on her person, little fairly lights breaking off and falling to the ground before guttering out. It was an unavoidable fact with disneya.

"You are very welcome," Tantalus said, still wearing the same charming smile. Oh, he was very glad to see that real smile on her face. It was always lovely to see a beautiful woman happy.
He took her hand, and pressed his lips to the back of it. "Sailor Tantalus, m'lady." He released her hand, looking rather pleased. "Disneya. A perfect name for such a lovely princess," he said, although her power signature was nothing like that of a proper Princess. Still, a little honest flattery was never amiss, and she did have that particular Disney quality to her.
It was emphasized by the little fairy lights that began to appear even on his scarf. "I could almost imagine that you came straight out of a fairytale, my dear."

She was still smileing when he kissed her hand, though now there was an oh so faint blush to her cheeks. Not the horrible red mask of embarrassment, but the faint touch of pink that came from being truly flattered. " And you, Tantalus, " She said, letting the syllables roll off of her tongue, committing it to memory "look like you came right off the cover of some medieval romantic epic ' She said, letting her eyes roam over his garb again.
And it was true; from his boots to his voluminous sleeves that gathered under metal cuffs, he looked like he should be lounging in some long forgotten court, not roaming the streets of Destiny city, defending young women from the ravages of an early autumn chill. Not that she was going to discourage that particular behavior, she was rather enjoying it a bit to much for that.
" Do you often spend your nights lurking in dark alleys? Or did I just happen to catch you on a particularly unusual evening? " She asked, genuinely curious, thinking of the few chaos aligned people she had met... both not particularly pleasant. Lesath, lurking in the forest like some type of mothy creepy, and Teallite, who was pretty much doing the same.
Lurking sure did seem to be popular lately.

Tantalus hummed quietly. "That's sweet of you to say, m'lady, I suppose I do." He could always appreciate a complement, especially when it came form someone who deserved plenty of complements herself.
"Unfortunately, I spend more time in dark alleys than I would like," he confessed. "My duty to my Princess and my Court requires that I borrow a little energy from passersby." Never more than a little from any one person, and his wraith always seemed to fill up just fine that way.

" Hmm... I suppose that would make you one of those charming people who are throwing ghosts at people then " She said, furrowing her brows of so slightly, though she still seemed fairly at ease, snuggled within his scarf. Having been under the unfortunate attention of one of those wraiths, she could definitely say she didn't approve, but... his demeanor was nothing like Lesath.
Then again, she hadn't pepper sprayed him either. But in her own defense she had been trying to pepper spray the ghost... so... oh well she was getting off topic. She could honestly say she knew nothing about the Dark Mirror court. She had basically been told, these guys are bad. Stop them. Though she couldn't for the life of her recall why. Mayhaps in the flurry of discovery that had accompanied her first power up, she hadn't even been told. Considering all that had happened in a very short period of time, it was a real possibility.
Oh my didn't he just have the cutest freckles. Wait. Train of thought, back to the topic at hand, she mental scolded herself.
" Why exactly do you need to collect energy like that in the first place? It certainly isn't a pleasant experience, and from what I can tell, others can function just fine without it. She was genuinely curious. She had met some knights, and even a hand full of other senshi, and none seemed to need to take energy from others to sustain their faction.

"Unfortunately, yes," Tantalus said, and then he reached into his bracer and extracted a mirror shard. "Mirror wraiths, they're called. Not the most pleasant part of the job, but what my Princess asks, I cannot refuse." It was as simple as that, as far as he was concerned. Leto had told him it was necessary for the Court, and so he did it.
Perhaps blind devotion seemed silly, but what else was he to give to the glorious warrior princess who had shown him the truth of what was going on in Destiny City?
"I am unfamiliar with how the White Moon operates," he admitted, "but my understanding is that in order to Awaken new senshi into the Court and bring over White Moon senshi who choose to convert, a certain amount of energy is required, which we gather from civilians. If there were another way to sustain ourselves, I'm sure we would have found it by now. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be." Perhaps because the energy that they would normally use was trapped beyond mirrorspace, he couldn't say.

" Oh... indeed that is rather unfortunate " She eyed the tiny shard of mirror and shuddered slightly, remembering her own encounter with a mirror wraith. The movement caused a cascade of sparkles to fall off her all at once, like a small bird shaking itself free of dewy water droplets.
Disneya didn't think down on him for what did indeed seem like rather blind faith in his cause... because when it really came down to it, that was what was expected of her. She had been yanked into this fight by a random talking cat, who pretty much threw a magical paper weight at her and told her defend the world from bad guys. No one had ever really bother to explain why the bad guys were bad guys. Surely the simple fact that their outfits were mostly black couldn't be it. That was just silly. Black wasn't evil. It was slimming.
" I honestly don't know were Gaurdian cats get there energy from... It makes me wonder though... Does it cause you pain if you do not gather enough? " Her brows were still furrowed. He had said sustain, and she was not sure if he simply meant as for the ranks of troops, or would they legitimately not be able to function in life? That thought caused her some alarm, for surely just as she did, Tantalus must have a life outside of his dashing powered self. Having him just like keel over and die because he didn't feed his ghosty friends was a rather disturbing thought.

Tantalus returned the shard to the inside of his bracer, his smile becoming a little sad. It would be nice to not have to do that, to not have to borrow energy from civilians who had no idea what was happening - but the Court needed it, and he was nothing if not loyal to his Court.
"Pain? No, not that I've noticed, though I suppose if you failed often enough it might in an indirect way, as I'm sure Leto would be upset." His tone was light and amused, but as much as he respected her, he also rather feared his warrior princess. "Ah, Princess Leto, one of the two heads of the Court." He explained, because Disneya might not know her. "As far as I know, energy is primarily required to expand the Court, to add more members, which is important as we'd like, ideally, to have every Senshi join the Dark Mirror."

" Oh, well then that is a relief.. " And it really was. She would have though it would be a crule fate in life to have to steal energy from another, just to keep yourself from experienceing pain and dieing off. Though she imagined their energy gather would be much more expansive if that were the case.
" Oh you have a princess!? " She clasped her hands together in front of her, a smile breaking across her face, obviously delighted by the notion. Her mental image matched up nothing to what Leto actually looked like, of course, but she was fastened there was a bona fied princess frolicking around somewhere.
Leto would probably be horrified to think she ever frolicked, but Disneya had never met a princess ( Let alone the amazon princess Leto ). Heck, she hadn't even met a princess of her own faction. Sure, the strange little talking cat had mentioned it, but their first meeting had been brief, her explanation of what was going on had been even more brief, and she had certainly never seen one.
She tilted her head again, in that expression that of thought, she wondered if they just had a giant mirror sitting around somewhere. Or maybe it was broken, that would certainly explain the shards they all seemed to carry around.

Tantalus laughed. "I hadn't even worried about that before," he said, reaching up to briefly run his fingers through his hair, a thoughtless and casual gesture at fixing it (even if it was still held rather nicely and cleanly in his ponytail.)
"We do indeed, and a Prince, though I've never met him." He would have to take steps to correct that, he supposed, because being on good terms with both leaders of his faction seemed a good idea. "We could hardly call ourselves a Court without proper royalty."
He couldn't help but be amused, because she looked so very pleased at the idea of a real princess. "Is the White Moon not as in touch with it's royalty?" How sad.

If she could have gotten more sparkly with delight, she would have. " Oh and a prince? That just sounds horribly romantic " she said dreamily. Once again, her mind filled with storybook images, the prince of the mirror riding away on a white horse, carrying the princess across his lap into the sunset, ballgowns and Doublets fluttering in lovely slow motion.
Ooooh, if only the royal senshi of the DMC knew what she was thinking.
On second thought, mayhaps it was a good thing they didn't.
She blinked, pulled from her revere and thought about his question for a moment. " I honestly could not say... Though I am reluctant to admit it, I am very knew to the world of senshi. " She said with a small frown, delicate lines forming between her brows. " They could be very well in touch for all I know, and I have just yet to be brought into the loop. "
She sighed quietly " Its not like being a senshi was a planned event in my life, I cant imagine it was part of theirs to have be suddenly brought into it. No welcome basket of muffins and a handbook or anything. I can imagine it can be terribly tedious to keep track of everyone."
