It had been a year. Over a year…almost well over a year now. Albireo was out walking through the streets, taking in the Halloween decorations that graced the outsides of so many houses. It was…surreal. Everything was still so surreal. She had thought that this was going to be the best, getting a home, having a home and having everyone that was important to her being there…but all that joining the Negaverse had done was keep her from the people she loved and adored.
Jarosite—Merric was still distant to her, and that might have partially been because she still felt…distant from him. Even after their talks of peace and reconciliation…she just wasn’t feeling it.
Tonight she seemed to be feeling something though. The energy signature of a senshi, a weak one at that. Just a basic level.
Oh well. Nothing that she couldn’t handle, that was for sure. Slowly she made her way towards it, her steps not making a sound. That was one good thing that ballet had done for her at the very least. She could walk so softly now. It was kind of cool. Kind of.

”Trololololo.” Medea sung as she skipped through the streets. She wrapped her arms around a streetlamp. ”Trolololo lololo!” She sighed. ”Ah~” Was that…? She narrowed her eyes. Yes it was! A Chaos signature! ”Hello hello!” She felt certain she was crazy now: Most Senshi cowered or sought to ambush those who opposed their court, but experience taught her to approach with kindness first. ”Friend or foe?”
She avoided the cracks in the sidewalk. The moon cast her pale silver. Lights flickered on and off. A car honked far away. She shivered. She didn’t know how much longer she could do this—play these guessing games, gamble her life. Surely these days would end. If she weren’t such a coward, she would end them herself, but alas, now was not the time for such sad thinking. Now was the time to laugh and smile and pretend all was okay.

Well. She hadn’t expected a cheery welcome. In fact, it sort of left her feeling confused. Exposed. She paused, looking at the senshi with a frown on her face. “Excuse me? Aren’t you going to run? I’m a foe, clearly. I’m on the other side, aren’t I?”
There was an edge to her voice, an unconcealed bitterness that she wasn’t quite fond of. Finally she just shrugged it off. “Who are you, senshi? What is your name? Your sphere? I am…” She sighed. She was Albireo. She hadn’t chosen any sort of mineral name, hadn’t…made that full switch. Hadn’t really wanted to. “I am Albireo…corrupted senshi of swans. You’re quite pretty.”
She was pretty, her hair was a beautiful shade of purple…and her outfit. Her fuku. Well. It was beautiful enough to be a dance costume. “Why are you out alone…?”

”Why thank you!” See, the Negaverse didn’t frighten Medea like perhaps it should have. Though aware that it infused its members with Chaos, and those members occasionally killed and set monsters upon innocents, Medea sought the stars in the night—the good and compassionate—like Maripo, who seemed to warn her of impending doom. Yet, she couldn’t quite bring herself to believe it. She would have to investigate Buddy’s affairs, determine why he truly saw her. She figured he liked her, but it wouldn’t be the first time someone pretended to like her only to betray her. ”I’m Medea Senshi of Enchantment!” She admired the folds of Albireo’s tutu, the sheen of her amber hair, her sparkling green eyes. She certainly looked pretty, so Medea had to remark: ”You’re quite lovely, you know!”
She shrugged.
”I don’t know! I’ve been alone a lot lately.” She didn’t realize how heavy that seemed until the words left her. Quickly, she had to resolve the disturbance. Heavy topics certainly would push Albireo away. ”But I’ve made quite a few friends, particularly on your side, so I feel safer alone now than I ever have before.” There. Good save.

Albireo blinked, then gave a small smile. “Thank you, Medea.” The smile faded quite quickly as the senshi said that she had been alone a lot. Boy. Did that ever sound familiar. “It’s not good for senshi to be alone…we…” She paused, then sighed heavily. “We were designed to work as a team. The offensive and the support senshi, and the ones with the strange attacks. But everyone…just wants to do things their way and…and it never worked.”
She seemed to be thinking of something else, off in her own world of memories and regrets for a moment. “Have the white moon senshi gotten themselves any more organized? I haven’t powered up for quite a long time, and I remember that when I was with your side…it was quite a bit of a disaster…Are they still scattered all over and not willing to band together, or has that finally changed?”
Perhaps if she had had support…she never would have gone over. Not that any of it made any sort of difference. She was still as aloof as ever, even as a corrupted.
