It was that time of the year again when the shift in season brought with it a light chill in the wind and the leaves started to take on the red and golden hues that heralded the arrival of autumn. It was also the period of time when Jaeger would be found out at the park more often than not with his drawing block and watercolours, a huge part of the day spent on the process of capturing what nature had to offer at the moment through the pictures that he singlehandedly created.
Seated down with his back against the tree, he squinted through his glasses at the lone flower set against the background of fallen leaves that he was trying to sketch onto the paper. Yes. If he adjusted his angle just a little to the right, the balance of colours would be perfect. He mused inwardly to himself, nodding a few times as he placed his pencil on the paper to begin working proper on the next piece he had in mind.

The n** in the autumn air, may have meant that not many humans Jaeger wasn't the only one out in the park - a little tabby bobtail having decided that the park was the place to be that autumn afternoon. Actually he hadn't put that much thought into it - no rather he'd been passing by with a piece of bread crust that he'd gotten from mewing at the kind lady at the bakery that he'd kind of stumbled across and had the thought that it would be nice to try jumping in leaves. He'd seen the kids do it and well it had seemed like fun, which is why he was there perched on the lowest branch of a tree, under which was a conveniently large pile of leaves. There was a young man nearby with his back to a tree, doing something to a white piece of something - but for now Liryn's attention was on those leaves looking at him enticingly. He jumped down, it occurring to him at the very last minute that the pile of leaves looked kind of big. It was too late as he hit the pile of leaves with what to him sounded like a loud poof, sending the topmost part of the leaves flying. As leaves started to drift back down lazily he absently noted that the red, yellow-orange and orange-orange leaves looked pretty... And realised with a pang of dismay that somehow he'd also managed to lose his bread crust.

Jaeger now had the initial sketch down to exactly how he wanted it. Next would be fixing the lines, darkening them while he added more definition and removed the sketchy-ness at the same instant. He was reaching for his eraser to initiate the process when he heard a loud poof, his head immediately turning to regard the autumn-coloured leaves that had been sent flying. It was a really lovely sight to behold and he briefly contemplated adding that to the piece he was already working on, filing away the imagery in a corner of his mind so that he could retrieve it later after he was done with lining.
Curious as to what might have caused the leaves to be tossed up into the air like that, he set aside his drawing block and drawing materials, pushing himself up and then toddling over to check if there was anything nestled amidst the pile of leaves. His eyes went wide when he spotted the dark-coloured bobtail feline. How cute! Perhaps it occurred to Kitty that it would be fun to play with the pretty leaves? He grinned at the idea, his hand instinctively reaching out to attempt to scratch Liryn's tummy since he remembered someone telling him once that almost all cats enjoyed that.
"Kitty~♪ What's Kitty doing here?"

Leaf-jumping had been okay, Liryn finally decided. Although it seemed to be more of a poof-sounding activity than it had looked when he’d seen the kids doing it although that might have been partly down to the size of the pile that he’d picked. And he’d lost the crust of bread that he’d been planning to eat as a snack, although it was possible that it hadn’t dropped too far. In fact Liryn had been contemplating digging through the leaf pile a little to see if he could find it when a shadow passed over his head. It was the young man from before, the one that had been by the tree, a sense of a familiar something about the other although Liryn couldn’t put his paw on it. It went out of his mind though when he realised that it looked like a stroking was on offer and he wasn’t going to turn down one of them. Or at least Liryn hadn’t been planning to - he liked being stroked just as much as any mauvian and tummy stokes were the best. And then it occurred to him what the familiar something was, his short tail twitching in excitement as he stared up at the young man with his purplish eyes revealing the pale jade star on his forehead as he wondered if in the redhead he’d finally found the one he’d been looking for. He couldn’t hear anyone around but them so figured that it was okay enough for him to answer the other’s question, after all the other was going to find out he could do more than purr soon enough. "I wanted to try the leaf jump thing." His voice was cheerful "I saw the kids doing it and it looked fun." He continued to look at the young man as he added "I’m Liryn by the way."

Kitty's tummy was soft and warm. It reminded Jaeger of warm fuzzies and he was all too happy to take a break from his art and continue scratching Liryn's tummy so long as the feline continued to allow him to. "Leaf jumping is fun fun. Ticklish even when some of the leaves get into Jae's clothes." He happily shared his own experience with regards to the activity itself, making a mental note that he ought to get Markus to do that with him when he next came over.
Grinning even wider at Liryn's confession that he was indeed playing with the leaves by jumping into them like he had witnessed the kids doing, he gave a nod, lifting his hand from the other's tummy to rub at his eyes when he thought that he saw a pale jade star appear on his forehead, the fact that the bobtail had spoken only hitting him a couple of seconds thereafter. "Wait a minute... Kitty can talk? Jae's not dreaming all of this, is he?"

Liryn sat up reluctantly when it seemed that no further tummy rubbing was going to be forthcoming, continuing to look up at the red head with his purplish eyes. "I can talk as well as you can" he pointed out. Given that there was only two of them there he would have thought it pretty obvious that the other voice was coming from him, at least to him, but the way the other had rubbed at his eyes suggested otherwise. He looked curiously at the red head, his voice still cheerful as he added "Is Jae your name?" After all having a name would be pretty useful for what came next and Liryn had already given out his. Besides he didn’t particularly want to use the 'Mr Red head' that he’d been using in his head to describe the other.

He sat himself on the ground, peering through his glasses as he turned this way and that to look Liryn over as if to check if the bobtail had a device hidden within his fur that enabled him to converse with him the way he was now. "Jae sees that but Jae doesn't see how it is possible unless Liryn wasn't originally a kitty or Liryn is actually magical."
Jae thought aloud, still grinning from ear to ear as he gave the other his name when prompted for it. "Jae's full name is Jaeger Reed." He began, his hand reaching to scratch behind Liryn's ears now to see how he would take to it. "Jae just likes to be referred to as Jae by Jae's friends. Liryn is Jae's friend so Liryn can call Jae Jae too."

"Oh I'm really a cat," Liryn said cheerfully, mayhaps not the average run of the mill garden cat, but still a cat nonetheless. "I'm a guardian cat." Liryn found Jaegar's way of speaking a little strange, not at all sure why the red head was referring to himself in the third person, although he could follow along well enough. He'd still meant to ask about it though, or at least he'd planned to, but the red head had chosen that moment to reach out and start scritching behind his ears. Ear scritching, it was something that Liryn was particularly fond off and for a few moments he was content to tilt his head and let the other scritch. Eventually however he reluctantly shifted his head, as he remembered what had drawn him to this particular human in the first place. He looked up at the other his purplish eyes direct, his voice however was cheerful as he said "By the way Jae, I have a gift for you." litian np - Liryn btw thinks it's great that he knows how to give scritches

A guardian cat huh? Well that certainly sounded magical and consistent with what Jae had observed about Liryn by far. The fact that he had responded so positively towards the tummy and ear scratching could only mean that he was a cat like he said he was and Jae wholeheartedly believed everything that he said thus far. "So Liryn's a guardian cat... what's Liryn supposed to guard then and why is Liryn here?"
Unless he was seriously mistaken, there wasn't anything in the park or its immediate vicinity for that matter that required guarding or the attention of a guardian cat like Liryn. That was what he figured anyway based on his own understanding but there could be things that he didn't know about until just recently like the fact that talking guardian kitties like Liryn actually existed in this world so go figure.
"A prezzie?" He looked surprised for a moment at the sudden declaration by the other that he had something for him, a sheepish smile on his face as he pulled back his hand and returned it to his lap. "Jae likes prezzies but Jae doesn't have one to gift Liryn in exchange at the moment." Was it the scritches? But they didn't require much effort on his part...
litian Jae says he will give him all the scritches if he lets him follow him around as a Senshi ^^

"Yes a present" Liryn agreed cheerfully, temporarily skipping over Jaegar's first set of questions as he got to his feet, knowing that the first would probably make more sense after he showed the red head the second - that was if the red head chose to accept the gift that he had for him. Although it was less gift and more handing over something that was rightfully Jae's. He stood at his full cat height for a moment, stretched a little, before backing up a bit so that he could pull off a back flip, causing the leaves to poof again at his landing. There was a further two poof sounds as first one and then a second object slipped down to fall in the bit of the leaf pile that he'd flipped over and Liryn moved forward and batted with the leaves for long enough to uncover the two objects, the first some sort of phone and the second some sort of thing that kind of resembled an over-sized pen. Sitting back Liryn pointed a paw at the over-sized pen object "I'd try that one first" he said. "Try picking it up and calling out Mizar Power Make-Up!" Before adding "Both of them are yours though." There was a bit of an expectant look on his face as he sat and waited, although the next move was in Jaegar's hands.

Jaeger watched Liryn stand and stretch then execute a back flip, coming close to clapping to show his appreciation for the trick that he was so sure was his intended present from the guardian kitty when he stopped to stare at the phone-like object and pen that the bobtail had uncovered from the leaf pile with his batting. When and, more importantly, how did those get there? He found himself wondering.
Intent on asking what they were and what he was supposed to do with them, he opened his mouth but closed it quickly the moment he realized that the little tabby was already instructing him verbally on what he should do with the pen for a start. He looked first at the pen then at Liryn before he gave a nod to indicate his willingness to go ahead with what he was proposing. "Alright. Jae will do that then."
Picking up the blue and white pen, he looked it over closely, finding it not very much different from any other pen one could find from the local stationery store. He gave it a twirl between his fingers, more out of habit than anything else then repeated the words exactly as he had been told to. "Mizar Power Make-Up..?" There was a bright flash of light and he almost fell back onto the leaf pile when he saw his clothes replaced with one that made it look as if he had just stepped out of one of the fantasy video games that he enjoyed playing. "So um... this's Liryn's present... for Jae..?" He looked back at the guardian kitty now, finally starting to comprehend that this was what he had been trying to get at earlier on.

Despite the question in them Jae had obviously said the words with enough feeling as the magic worked first time round, his earlier kitty hunch proving right as it was no longer Jae in front of him, but rather the newly awoken Sailor Mizar. A perhaps confused Sailor Mizar, if the other's question was anything to go by. "That's right" Liryn agreed. "Although like this you're not Jae but Mizar. Sailor Mizar..." for a moment or two he was quiet, a look of almost concentration on his furry face, before he added "Hummingbirds! You're Sailor Mizar of hummingbirds." He nudged the second object towards Mizar, an object that the other would discover looked very much like a cell phone as he waited to see if the new senshi would ask any more questions.

Sailor Mizar. It was strange how he felt as if the name was rightfully his even though he was hearing it from Liryn for the very first time in his entire life. For what seemed like a very long time though it probably was no more than half a minute tops, Mizar was silent as he studied the fuku that he now donned, taking in every little detail that it had to offer.
Was he dreaming..?
He blinked once. Twice. Nothing changed - he supposed that that meant that all of this from Liryn conversing with him right up to the change in his attire were indeed real and not part of his own imagination as a part of him had initially suspected. "... does this mean that Mizar is now the sworn protector of all the hummingbirds?"
It was always something along that particular line in the countless fantasy role-playing games that he played. The main protagonist would be bestowed a mysterious power and with it, a task that only he alone could accomplish. Right now it seemed to him that Liryn knew exactly what was going on and he was more than eager to listen to what he had to say though he had no idea as to where he should start with all the questions that were starting to form in his head. Looking down at the second object - a blue and white cell phone that Liryn was nudging his way, he picked it up to look it over. "What's this for though? Jae... I mean, Mizar already has one."

Mizar was silent for so long that Liryn had started to think that the new senshi didn't have any questions and so when the other finally did ask him a question it took him a little by surprise. "No" he said after thinking it over. "Senshi are supposed to protect against Chaos." Although some things were still kind of hazy, that much was something that Liryn knew. "But your magic will have something to do with hummingbirds." At Mizar's question about the phone he added "It's a Mizar phone, not an other phone, when you meet other senshi then you can use it to call them."

The young Senshi thought over what Liryn had told him. "Chaos. Mizar's not sure if he knows how he should go about this protecting thingy though." He admitted truthfully. After all, it was only minutes ago when he was still Jaeger Reed, a 20 year old guy who knew next to nothing at all about the war between Order and Chaos in the city that he grew up in.
"Right. Liryn has a point there. Mizar didn't realise that Jae's phone has gone missing after this... transformation." He nodded a few times then stopped to confirm what the guardian cat had mentioned in passing.
"You mean... there are others out there like Mizar? In Destiny City?"
