The first village building made of wood, this building was constructed with parts from the organization's supply wagons. Twenty by twenty feet and ten feet tall, this building is completely encased in wood, with a strong padlock on the door. The only keys to the lock are held by the village council, and one of the two chuunin guards constantly standing by the building's door. This building contains all of the village's resources, be they jutsu scrolls, weapons, or ingredients for new medicines and poisons. Access to the building is only granted by permission of the council, and only long enough to gather whatever has been approved for removal.

Segare glanced down at the girl again as she asked a couple more rapid fire questions, shaking his head in amusement as it reminded him of his own little brother. The questions were different, but the rapid progression was oh so similar.
"There's a few more students still yet to arrive. Once they do we'll start planning out some courses. Probably within the next few days. Or weeks. Depends on when people arrive and how busy we are I suppose. Eventually we hope to get a proper system going with dedicated teachers, but for now you'll learn from the more experienced members of the village, when they aren't out on missions."

He paused again, turning briskly down the last turn in the path before they would reach the storage area. It was intentionally set a bit distant from the camp area, and in a bit of a maze of paths, to prevent both thieves, and overcrowding in the area making it harder for the guards to do their job.
"As for the chain of command, it's pretty simple. If someone is ranked higher than you, they have authority over you. You'd be considered a civilian or academy student right now, which is the bottom of the ladder. Then there's genin. It's considered polite for civilians and students to respect the genin, but they're still learning themselves so it's best to think twice before just obeying them. Assuming it's not bloody obvious that you should of course. Above genin are Chuunin. They make up the bulk of any shinobi force, including most of the village security here. A chuunin tells you to do something, you should do it. Beyond them are special jounin, jounin, and elite jounin. Each is a bit higher ranked than the last, and have authority over everyone below them. And then above them is the council. That's myself, Luo, and one other you'll probably meet soon enough." He shrugged at the last, figuring that Rin probably wouldn't appreciate him giving her game away just yet.

"And here we are." he tacked on before he could say anything more on that subject, as the large, rather plain wooden building loomed before them, flanked by two men wielding katanas. Walking the rest of the way over silently, Segare nodded to the two men, before pulling a key from his pocket and opening the door, stepping in and holding it open for the younger girl. "For future reference, you need permission from the council to ever access this building, so if you ever need anything, you'll have to come to me or Luo. Probably me, since I'm the one that has to keep track of this stuff anyways." he shrugged again, before stepping inside and walking down the center of the building a short distance, before stopping and grabbing a roll of canvas from a small pile and returning to the girl with it.

"Most of the time you'll just get a waiver and the guards will let you in, but you can only take what you're signed up for. Remember, steal from the village and we'll have to kill you." he said with a wide smile. Looking around for a second longer, Segare snagged up a bucket from the corner and moved back to the door. "Unless you have anything else you need, we'd best leave. The guards are trained to get twitchy if people hang out in here too long." His smirk widened as he heard said guards snicker on the other side of the wall. Apparently they were listening in. Good. He'd have to get them a treat.

Cryshal started to smile and she kept smiling as she was walking with Segare to the storehouse. She would stay quiet as he was talking to not disrespect him in anyway. Also she wanted to retain all of the information that he was telling her. They stopped once more to what seemed to assess where they were headed. Before she knew it Segare was once more on the move, Cryshal sped up slightly to keep up with him. This time Segare was talking about the chain of command. She seemed really interested in this topic for this would be helpful down the line. "I figured I was on the bottom of the chain, I mean I do know basically nothing about being a ninja." She laughed a bit at this statement, even if it was true. "About how long does it take to become a Genin?" As soon as Cryshal said what she did, she kind of felt like it was a silly question, and immediately looked down at her hands. All of a sudden her trance was broken when the words "Here we are." rang through her ears. She noticed that Segare was holding the door open for her, so she went on inside and nodded at him smiling she's never had someone hold the door open for her, so this was a new experience among many others. "So if I am needed to go in here, I need a waiver from a higher up, sounds reasonable. I mean can't go meddling with anything you please, this is after all for everyone." Segare moved down an aisle in the storehouse and then returned to her with a few things and then told her about stealing from the village, she picked up a half serious and half joking vibe from him when he said that statement. She looked shocked for a second but then she realized it was best for the village, and she understood. "I'm not trying to steal another tent for myself, honestly why would I need two, but could I also take one back for Shinji? I kind of owe him for.... reasons." After this statement she looked down at her shoes. "If it is too much trouble then it's okay." She smiled at Segare understanding if it IS indeed too much trouble.

Segare frowned slightly at the girls question for a moment, but then shrugged and nodded.
"Go ahead. You'll have to pay for it though, and getting reimbursed is up to you." he conceded, waving her towards the pile to grab another herself. "Keep in mind what I said about charity though." he added, frowning thoughtfully. "Just as the village doesn't give anything away, you should avoid doing it yourself. There's plenty of people out there perfectly willing to take advantage of that, and you don't want to be someone people just walk over and use." It was a lesson he'd had beaten into his mind at a young age, though surely for less noble reasons. His father had been almost militant about protecting the family's wealth and scoffed at any suggestion of giving money away. Segare carried a similar belief, though he shied away from doing it simply for greed's sake. If you gave things away, be they money, or services, and asked nothing in return, you could only lose in the end. Instead it was better to give in moderation, and require something in return. That way you didn't have one person carrying another, but two walking together and holding each other up.

"Grab yourself a bucket too." he added after a moment of silence, having mostly forgotten before. "You'll want it for when you need water. I grabbed this one for your friend whenever he gets back. Buckets are free, things can be made in minutes with just what's lying on the ground around here." he chuckled. A couple of people with some minor crafting talent had started making piles of buckets out of scrap almost as soon as they'd arrived, and tried selling them to him to make a quick couple of silvers. He'd just laughed, thrown one together himself in a matter of minutes based on their design, and then thrown the lot into storage when they gave up on their get rich quick scheme. The buckets were well made, but basically worthless for anything but quick transport and water runs, and he knew he'd never be able to sell them when someone could throw one together that easily for themselves.

Go ahead and step outside on your next post. Segare won't leave until you do, since he's got to keep an eye on you even if he doesn't think you'll steal anything, so I can't really slip that into my post to speed along a bit.

Cryshal just nodded and quickly went down the aisle and picked up a tent that looking like a pile of wooden stakes, rope and cloth. Then she went over to the pile of buckets and grabbed herself one. After acquiring the items she made her way over the entrance to where Segare still was. "I'm sorry to upset you, but like I said before I owe him. I understand there are people that will take advantage of others based on their charity, and for other reasons also. I don't intend to let anyone do that, I do understand that the reimbursement will be on me, and I take full responsibility of so. How much will I have to make up?" She looked at Segare with a serious tone, for this was no joking matter. For the statement of the lack of craftsmanship needed to make a bucket Cryshal chuckled and laughed. She then Left the storehouse careful not to go too far without Segare, she didn't need the guards mistaking anything. Cryshal was still new here, and she expected that everyone had their own suspicions other than Shinji having met each other in the forest. She then turned around waiting for Segare to finish closing up.

Stepping out of the building after the girl, Segare closed the door, locking it once more behind him before turning to face her again. Her sudden turn back to being overly serious left him feeling obligated to lighten the mood, so, with a completely straight face, he held out his hand expectantly.
"Ten gold. Five for each tent." he responded, keeping his hand extended, and after a few seconds wiggling his fingers in a gesture indicating she should hand over the cash, before finally cracking and bursting into chuckles once more.

"You really need to loosen up kid." he chuckled out before calming himself a bit. "You didn't upset me. It's your money and your life, I'm just offering advice. The tents are worth about five silver each. You can pay that now, or just do your first E rank without pay and forget about it." Without another word on the matter, and still chuckling a bit under his breath, Segare held out the tent and bucket he'd grabbed for the girl to take. He wasn't sure if he was going to head back in that direction or move on to another area to wander about, and really didn't feel like carrying the girl's things for her either.

Cryshal reached behind her back in one of her pouches for the money until she heard something that very much scared her "Ten gold". After hearing that, the expression that she had changed from "I got this covered" to "There's no way". All of a sudden Segare burst out in laughter, obviously it was a tease. Then he told her that it was only a small fee of ten silver and Cryshal grasped a number of coin and counted out ten silver and then proceeded to hand Segare the money. "Here you go, you kinda scared me a bit when you said ten gold, but at least it was a harmless joke." Cryshal smiled as the coins left her hand and into Segare's palm. "Thank you again for everything, for allowing me to stay here. For allowing us, as complete strangers, supplies that were not availble to us before. You all have shown such kindness, and for that I will study hard and train even harder so that I may one day, be able to protect these people. You have my word."

Cryshal smiled a bit as she picked up the supplies and walked off in the direction which they previously came from. She would not forget the service that had been provided, and the opportunity that now lay in front of her. At this moment, she would aspire to do the best she could at everything, and more. Now there was only a few things to do, one of which was to figure out exactly HOW to set up a tent.

Segare chuckled to himself again as he watched the girl leave. She really was a bit too uptight for her own good. But then, she'd also just arrived and immediately been faced with the village leadership, so he could cut her some slack for that. Most likely she'd loosen up over time. Most did. Well, assuming they didn't get too far out of line where Luo could see them. Already he'd been witness to a few such scoldings, and those that faced them tended to get a bit paranoid about keeping up appearances. But, well, that in itself was good fun to watch as well.

Shaking his head and chuckling again, Segare started walking, heading back towards the main areas. He'd probably wander a bit more, then head back to the council tent to get started on checking the village inventory and planning what they'd need to get a supply of first. But, before he could get far at all, a ninja ran up to him, waving at him to wait for them. Stopping, Segare raised an eyebrow, looking the man over. He recognized him, Shen was a chuunin he'd personally recruited early on in the planning stages, and assigned to scouting the main cities for potential recruits. That he was here now, standing before him, filthy, as if he'd rolled around in the forest and missing his equipment pouch, was a bit strange. So, Segare waved for the man to walk with him, noting the longing look the man cast towards the shed, but ignoring it.

"I've been looking all over for you sir." Shen said, falling into step with Segare. "I wanted to tell you, I found some possible recruits in the city. Couple kids, one a pickpocket, the other a grifter of some kind. I was just walking along, headed to get some lunch when..." the man trailed off, looking a bit sheepish and avoiding Segare's gaze, which just caused the councilor's eyebrow to raise again, followed by a slight smirk as he realized what Shen didn't want to tell him.
"Shen, did you get robbed, by a civilian?" he asked, barely holding back his laughter as the ninja actually blushed outright. Bingo.

"I caught them!" Shen quickly protested, trying to regain some dignity. "They managed to waste all my explosive notes, but I caught them and brought them back." he explained, trying a bit too hard to look proud of that accomplishment.
"They knew how to use tags?" That raised both Segare's eyebrows. A civilian who could access their chakra was rare, much less one who could activate a seal. Now he was interested. "I think I want to meet these kids. Where are they? Setting up in the tents?" Without waiting for an answer, Segare quickened his pace towards the tents, only to slow again as he noticed Shen had stopped and was looking sheepish again. "Shen? Where are they?" the man asked, speaking slowly, his eyes digging into the man.

"Well, I got them all the way to the forest. The pickpocket was real sneaky, and kept trying to sneak knives and stuff to get away, so I was watching him. The grifter was... I don't think he was entirely sane, he never shut up and just talked nonsense nonstop the entire trip back. I was watching the sneaky one in the forest, and then somehow the other one got loose and jumped me. They, they took my pouch and ran off..." Shen admitted, scuffing his boot on the ground and refusing to look up. Segare couldn't help but snicker.
"You got robbed by a civilian, twice." he snickered, finally realizing why the man looked the way he did, and was missing his gear. But, that also meant... "Shen, where are they?" he asked again, the seriousness of the situation sobering him a bit. The woods were dangerous, even for an interesting sounding pair like that, and especially for civilian children. Almost anything they could run into out there would have them for dinner.

"Last I saw them they were headed towards the village!" Shen quickly stated, hands up in a protective gesture as he realized Segare wasn't exactly happy to find out he'd lost the kids in the woods. "I, I was hoping to get some new equipment." he added. Segare wasn't sure if that was meant to be followed by a statement that he'd then go looking for them or not, but his eyes narrowed a bit.
"No." he decided, shaking his head, before sighing a bit. "You're a chuunin Shen. You shouldn't have been robbed in the first place, much less let them get away. Get out there, find them, and get your stuff back yourself." the councilor shook his head in exasperation, waving Shen towards the forest. He couldn't believe one of his chuunin had failed so badly. Maybe this one needed one of Luo's already famous lectures. "And if either of them are hurt, I'm taking it out of your pay. Now go!" he ordered, noting with satisfaction the speed at which Shen nodded and leapt away, headed back into the woods. The man wasn't the best tracker, but he could hold his own out there and, really, he was tracking a couple kids. How hard could it be?

Sighing again, Segare continued his walk, heading more directly towards the council tent. He'd need to report this to Luo and Rin, just in case Shen couldn't find the kids.

➸➸➸ --- ➸➸➸

Rhodes approached the village store to look for supplies for his parents that they needed for their experiments. And admittedly, Rhodes was looking for stuff of his own to look for with his meager allowance. Window shipping they call it. He rather didn't mind it as he would love the image of possibly having another bow, more arrows, a weapon more or two to tinker on like with what his parents do. But the life of an inventor would come as soon as he gets of age to be taught the De'Cartes trade.

Gathering items on the list, Rhodes made the purchase of the things they wanted and put them carefully wrapped into his duffle bag and took to the exit. Heading back towards the village exit where he lived.
