So I have been conducting a bit of...research, shall we say, on the subject of Flynn's Booty & user feedback to it's several releases over the past 2 months, roughly. That, however, has been limited to a few select forums where such information is easier to reach, as well as more feasible. So, in that effort, I thought that I would ask the users in this guild, since obviously it also affects the prices of fish on the MP, if you are buying with gold that is. Let me know what you think, vote in the poll, & feel free to state any opinion, be it for Flynn's Booty or against. All feedback is welcome & will be used in a greater part of my research findings that I am, & have been, reporting to a few of the admins. I think that while the idea behind Flynn's Booty is decent, the entire inflation of prices it causes is just not worth it because I bought one thing of Flynn's Booty and I noticed that the prices went up. It's hard enough trying to buy the expensive Gaia Items I'm questing for at the moment. I don't want the prices to go up more.

Honestly. It was great when it first released. It gave people an opportunity to get some gold to get the items that really wanted. But they should have stopped after the first run and they should do it once a year maybe. They have done it so much lately its raising prices on simple things like flowers and trash and junk items and caches that i like to buy for alchemy. They need to go for a while

Agreed. It is getting very difficult to get any items any more since even items that were roughly 100-500k are now anywhere from 700k-1 mil +.
I agree as well. Having this item released almost 5-7 times (I can't remember the exact amount, so that's more of a guess but I know it's somewhere between that number) within the past...almost 2 months is staggering. Now there is so much gold within the economy that just about everything is inflated.

I'm against it, and have been vocal in GCD and Site Feedback, but my opinion is a drop in the ocean, and that's an ocean Gaia is just going to fly right over and ignore. They are intentionally making gold worthless while making money in the process with both Flynn's Booty/Chest and Smashblox. This site is going to crash and burn within a year from a useless economy where members can't do anything without buying cash.

It has certainly messed with the economy and I would prefer it gone, at least for a year if not forever. If it had just been a once a year thing (and not had the Verge version) I think it wouldn't be so bad. I know lately I have felt bad for some who intended to buy items pre-flynn and can no longer afford them... I've given away some items to them. Normally I only do things like that over Christmas holiday and maybe Valentines (usually the two events I participate the most in).
Really, the constant re-releases so close together have just got out of hand. They need to calm down and send her back to space for a while to chill out.

Gaia has really ruined themselves with flynn. I use to come on almost everyday and would buy some GC maybe 3 times a month. In my eyes, that's a returning customer. Not only have they lost me as a source of money, they have lost me as a player completely. And i'm positive that i am not the only one. Gaia is no longer fun with this inflation.

Flynn wouldn't be so bad if there were some effective gold sinks... The pre-Halloween gold sink was ok, buuuut then they re-re-re-re-re-released Flynn. >:C Maybe they should really up the marketplace transaction fee from 2% to like 5%, at least for a while. I was against raising the fee when it first was under discussion, but that was pre-Flynn. Now I just want to see some gold destroyed.

i'll be honest , i hate Flynn's Booty!!! stressed , they should just put 1-2 in a times in a year , why? because they keep on raising price in MP and they are TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE to get!!! i mean seriously gaia??? why would you spend your money on a item that got double the prices? at first when Flynn's Booty was realease the first times, i was ' ok ', but second and more, NO i'm not ok.
people who *like* Flynn Booty are the people that can be able to sell items for a higher price. but let me say this, how will you feel if you got hacked while Flynn's Booty was release ? and you have no items to sell at all, and you are in a complete new account.
i am just saying.. i might be wrong or correct... ;o

I understand that they have to maintain servers and pay developers, and ad revenue just isn't enough sometimes, but I honestly felt alienated by that announcement. I'm the mother of a child who works full time. I cannot justify spending the insane amounts of money on pixels when I have groceries to buy and bills to pay. I feel like the only way to ever make any gold these days is essentially to pay for it. The admins stated they would never allow outright trading of money for gold to happen, but essentially that's what's happening.
Take the Halloween event that just happened. I try to play up to the 100k limit of booty grab every day that I can just to even barely keep up with the inflation of the prices. They were, at first, selling the gold shop energy potions for around 1k. It was a bit expensive but eh... not that bad. Once the event was underway, they jacked the price up to 25k. That is effing ridiculous... They still offered the cash shop potions (they could have made them much stronger like instantly refilling health and/or energy) and left the gold shop alone (it only did 10%). Jacking the price up that much was an insult to users like me who can't afford to invest that much money and/or time into the site and can only resort to earning gold the old fashioned ways by posting, voting in polls, and playing the games.
But anyhow, I think I've ranted enough. I think I'm a bit off topic. rofl gaia_star

And I agree, it was awesome when first released and gave people a chance to get a boost up and get somethings they've been wanting or working for but by doing it so often it's almost like it cancels itself out in a way. It should be more special and limited in how often it's available otherwise it just makes things more expensive. The inflation is affecting everyone except the extremely rich gaians. In my humble opinion, once a season would be great, four times a year at the begining of each season. Alas I am one small voice ;p
