The Festival of Spirits is a tradition held by the Lunarian people to honor those who have passed. As per usual Imperial city is aglow in the bright colors of lanterns and ornaments. From every shop on Main Street there is a buzz in the air of the coming festivities. Though a somber tone hangs over the city in light of the death of the Emperor, most of the citizens of the city are keen to get back to normal life while others prepare their black ribbons to honor the death of their leader.
Regardless of the feelings over recent trials it seems that many Lunarians are looking forward to such an event. In the soft warmth of these autumn days the festival draws near...

Disclaimer: Though the Festival of Spirits is Lunaria canon this roleplay is NOT staff created and thus due to ORP rules will loosely center around a storyline involving my Lunarian where everyone may enter. The Festival is the main setting/story with a small plot which allows for any involvement from others. This is in no way meant to be a god-mod pull but rather an opportunity for others to join and mingle with their Lunarians. As such this roleplay will not follow the festival in entirety (though you are free to mention the other days of the festival or even solo out some) nor will it have any other rewards outside of ORP involvement.
But it will be fun so JOIN!

Lunaria's Festival of Spirits is one that occurs every year near the start of the autumn season. Similar to the Obon in Japan, the Festival celebrates and honors those that have passed on. The Festival lasts three days, with each day dedicated to something different.
The first day of the Festival, also known as "Ribbon Day," is when the citizens of Lunaria visit the grave sites and tombs of relatives and friends that have passed on and to give greetings to them. They show their love and appreciation for them by tying ribbons to their sleeves. A red ribbon indicates remembering single soul, while a black ribbon indicates remembering multiple souls. This is followed throughout the day. During the evening, there is firelight dinner where families can bring food to share with others and simply remember those that have passed on.
The second day of the Festival, known simply as "The Celebration" is the day when all of the Lunarians celebrate the lives of their ancestors through games, food, rides, and musical, theater, and dance performances, as well as a fireworks show at the end of the evening. Though the festival is obviously open to everyone, this particular day is usually the most family and friend oriented, as many take this time to spend time with those they love.
The last day of the festival, called The Day of Remembrance] starts off like The Celebration. However upon entering the festival, each is given a long, thin candle. When it comes to be nighttime, each person lights their candle and with it on Main Street. This is to encourage the spirits around them (since Soul Conduits are in attendance of the Festival) to not only pass on in safety, but also to show a sense of respect to those that have passed on. After ten minutes they are blown out by the individual Lunarians and the candles are melted down. The rest of the night is spent celebrating the closing of the Festival.
