Ever since Cameron had rather suddenly and somewhat unexpectedly taken away her job, Mei had been trying to come up with ways to make money, or at least keep herself busy. Today she had gone to the forest to hopefully find the materials needed to make those pretty holiday wreaths she'd seen in stores. Maybe she could make some and sell them for money to help out her little family! So she began scouring the woods carefully, picking up several fallen branches of pine needles that seemed promising, and set it all in a pile...then went looking for stuff to decorate them with...and began to pick berries which of course squished onto her hands a little but still she sat down and began to try bending the branches a little, frowning as first one, then another began to break as she tried to bend. "These are no good!" her frustration was emphasized by her throwing the broken branches to the side and looked up at the tree. "Maybe..." a thoughtful look given. Maybe, she could climb and break off fresh ones....they'd be better than dead ones, right?

There was someone near her tree. Cecily froze, green-tinted wings going still behind her as she stopped tracing her path back to the tree she had claimed as hers long before she had gotten this new, ungainly body. Swallowing, she looked around for somewhere to hide, but couldn't seem to spot one.
What if it was a human, come to catch her? Or... wait. Could she even be caught now? She wasn't sure. She'd never seen a human drawn inside one of the awful red and white spheres, and she was awfully close to a human now, herself.
And it had been so long since she'd spent time with anyone...
A pang of loneliness hit the shiny Celebi and she stayed still for a moment, before hesitantly approaching her tree and the stranger that was... apparently attempting to climb it?
"...Hello?" She asked, blinking as she spotted the intruder, and realizing that it wasn't a human but rather one of... whatever she had become, herself. "That's my tree, not yours."

Mei was a few feet up the tree trunk, having a hard time finding a decent grip so she had been on her way to sliding down to find either a new way up, or a new tree to climb when she heard the sudden voice behind her and she dropped hard to her feet and landed on her backside.
Standing she dusted herself off as she turned, realizing she'd landed in her berries and was now a sticky mess. "I'm sorry, I was just...." she blinked and paused looking at the shiny Celebi girl. "...just trying to get some pine branches was all. I'll get them from another tree..."
She was still staring at the girl a surprised look on her face, because this girl looked like a pink haired version of Brenny!
"I'm Mei, who're you?" simple curiosity really, and who could blame her running into someone unexpectedly in the forest like this!

"Pine branches?" Cecily echoed, creeping closer and peering at the stranger curiously. "What do you need pine branches for? And why from my tree?" There were pine branches everywhere; it was a forest!
...And why was she being stared at? Wings picking back up into a rapid fluttering motion, Cecily backed away until she was up against another tree, her mismatched clothing hanging oddly off of her form.
"I'm Cecily... and --- and why are you staring at me?!?"

"I didn't know it was anyone's tree, I was sitting there and it was the closest one to climb." she gave the other girl a sheepish explanation, but it was true!
Seeing the other afraid of her, her eyes went wide and she put her hands up and began shaking them in a 'no, no' motion. "Oh! Don't be afraid of me, I'm sorry! You just look like someone I know and.....Cecily!?" there was no way this was coincidence!
"Is...do you....I know a Celebi named Brenny...." so this was the mysterious sister?

At the name 'Brenny', Cecily flinched and slumped into a sitting position, tears filling her eyes. She tried not to think about the other Celebi very often, but it was hard when she didn't have much else to fill her time with since she was alone so often.
"Y-you... know him?" She asked, swallowing back the emotions with some difficulty. "He's... okay? Happy?" She hoped he was. For all that he was living with humans, had wanted to make her live like he chose, had ignored her fear for his desire---- she hoped he was happy. That he'd gotten what he wanted, and was content.
"I don't--- please," she whispered, wringing her hands together. "I d-don't.... I can't see him, he'll try to make me live where I don't want to, so --- so I can't see him, not now, not now that he's got what he wants but... he's okay, right? He's happy? "

Cecily's reaction surprised her to no end from the flinch to the sudden tears in her eyes and she awkwardly stepped closer to the other girl not sure at the moment what she was supposed to do. She lived with two boys her age and a teenager, this was new territory!
"I...yes. We live in the same house...he calls me his sister..." the words were spoken quietly, not wanting to upset Cecily anymore than she already was. "He's very happy as as far as I know...he's okay too yes." this was the "selfish" sister Brenny had spoken of? She seemed so nice!
Mei crouched and rested her hand on the others shoulder gently. "It's okay Cecily. No one is going to make you live anywhere you don't want to...and to be honest we don't have the room for another person. The boys share the bed, I've started sleeping on the floor again so I don't get kicked anymore...and Connie sleeps on the couch."
There was a shift and she hugged the other gently. "You don't need to be scared Cecily I promise. I won't let him make you live with us."

"Oh," Cecily said, and scrubbed her eyes with a fist briefly before offering the stranger - Mei - a watery-eyed smile. "That's good." He had a family, then, with another sister? "I'm glad he's happy." Swallowing down the lump in her throat, she watched the Mienfoo quietly for a few minutes.
"So...um... you're looking for pine branches? What for? I can show you a better place to look, if you want?" Cecily knew this forest, after all. She rarely left it, as nervous as she had been of humans and their scary pokéballs. Hm...if she couldn't be caught now, maybe...
Maybe she could try exploring just a little farther than she usually ventured?

"He's very friendly, so he has a lot of friends which is good I think." or at least she thought so, though some of her friends...or those he attempted to be friends with anyhow, were people she distrusted greatly. Like that Mawile! Mei shifted a little and sat down looking at Cecily with a little smile, looking thoughtful. "Well...I was raking leaves for a friend...but he doesn't remember me anymore...and so I don't do it now...and my friend Connie could use extra money to help out with things for the four of us...so I was hoping to make little wreathes because I know people like those for Christmas. So I came here to find some." She wondered how much of that would even make sense to the other girl!

"He does?" Cecily asked, then nodded. "'course he does. He wasn't scared to talk to people," she said, answering her own question with a little sigh.
She smiled at Mei and tilted her head. "Money? What's money? Can I help you?" She asked, getting to her feet. "If you're gonna use sticks for something, I think you need green branches. They wiggle more! Older ones get all dry and break."
She didn't understand what Christmas was, or wreaths, but it was obvious that Mei was trying to make... something or other, anyway. Making things was fun!

"He does yeah." Mei gave her a soft smile. "How about you? You have any friends Cecily?." she was curious...and she did hope she did really. "Money...well it's stuff used to buy things...food...clothes that sort of thing. You can help if you want it's always more fun to do work with someone else." She got to her feet and listened to Cecily's suggestion a smile given "That's why I was trying to climb the tree, I was hoping branches fresh from the tree would be better. I want to bend them into circles and then sort of fill it up a bit and somehow put the berries on them. I don't know if it will work...but I wanted to try."

"No," Cecily said, drooping just a little as she watched Mei get to her feet. "It's just me. There was Brenny, but then he... I guess he got lost? He never came home, and then it was just me." Climbing to her own feet, she tried to follow Mei's description of money but... she didn't quite get it.
"There's a better tree for that," she said. "Follow me - I know where one is that already has berries on it."

"Well how about I be your friend? Everyone needs friends." she'd learned that much herself. While Brenny might not want anything to do with Cecily, she thought she was really nice.
"Okay lead the way! So you're out here all alone? Aren't you lonely? I could come visit you if you want." why not? She liked it out here. This could be her own little secret place to come to without the boys!

"...You would do that?" Cecily asked, eyes widening. "But... I'm too bossy for friends," she added, expression hardening. "And get too scared." It was obvious she didn't know whether to believe her own words, but considered them to be a big enough deal to mention right now anyway.
"Yeah, but it's safer to be alone," she said after a moment, picking her way through the branches as she tried not to step on anything sharp or crunchy. "Brenny didn't know but when we were real little? I mean real little, before we got separated, or he started drawing stuff, or anything? A human put me in one of those balls and I---" she shivered. "I almost didn't get out! And it was small and dark and there wasn't an exit and ----" She shook her head. "It's better to stay by yourself. Then people don't hear stories and start hunting for you."
Her little tale done, Cecily pointed out a strange evergreen tree with an abundance of long branches. "I can climb up and try to get some for you," she offered. "See the little red berries on it? Don't eat them, though! They'll make you sick if you do."

"I would! Everyone needs friends!" Though look at her blink...and suddenly she was giggling. "Cecily...I live with Brenny...he is sooooo bossy...and not just sometimes. But he's getting a little better. If I can live with bossy, I can handle my friend being bossy when it happens." she frowned at the scared part though. "Scared? Of what?"
She listened to the explanation then though and her eyes went wide. Ohhh...that explained it! She reached out and rested a hand lightly on the girls shoulder and smiled. "Well guess what? While we may still be pokemon...now that we look like this we can't be caught in those balls anymore! We're more people than pokemon, so you're safe from those now Cecily!"
She suddenly hugged the other and smiled. "So don't be afraid of people with pokeballs. It might sting a little if it hits you but thats the worst it can do now." she hoped she could help the others fears a little with this revelation!
Looking at the tree Mei blinked. "Never seen a tree like this before." she nodded at the offer "That would be nice Cecily, thank you! I won't eat the berries!"
