Lance stared at the door in front of him. Even after shooing off his Greek love coach, he still spent a good five minutes just staring at the door. Man nerves were a scary thing... If he had known they were gonna be this bad he would have had Persephone ring the bell..
..Er on second though no. Awkward and WAY to much to explain.
He swallowed nervously. Time to face the music. He rang the doorbell.

Alistair had taken the time after Lance's call to clean up, so he didn't look like as much of a wreck as he felt. And then he had paced the front hallway, waiting and panicking and worrying. When the doorbell finally rang, he nearly jumped out of his skin and then almost tripped over himself getting to the door. He took a long breath once he got there before opening it.
"Lance, uh, come in," he said, trying not to show how nervous he was. No, not nervous - afraid. He was past the point of simple nerves.

Hell that doorbell was loud. The blonde jumped when the door opened, to reveal Alistair. "Uhh.. Thanks." He shifted as he stood in the door way. Lance frowned slightly. Though Alistair didn't look as bad as he sounded, Lance could still tell. Alistair had been crying over this. Over him. "... So.. Where did you wanna uhm... Do this?" He asked.

"Anywhere not here," Alistair said, beckoning Lance inside. "Upstairs, maybe? My room? Unless that would be awkward," he said, and it was obvious that he was nothing like his normal self. All his usual confidence was gone. "We'd uh, be least likely to be interrupted by my parents. Or Blair." Because this was the last thing he wanted any member of his family to see.

"We could go outside? Back yard... A walk?" This wasn't awkward at all. Nope. "Your parents.. " He'd forgotten about them.. "You decide.. Whatever you think is best." Where ever Alistair would be more relaxed. At ease.

"Backyard sounds alright," Alistair exhaled. "Nobody really goes out there at night." He stepped out of the doorway and exhaled slowly. It was going to be okay, it had to be okay. Even if Lance's answer was no, they could still be friends, right?
The thought made his heart hurt a little. It would be agony to be around the blond and know he didn't feel the same way.

"Works for me." Lance followed Ali out to the backyard, closing the door with a quick click. Now... Where to begin.. How to start? He sighed as he sat down in one of the patio chairs. "...Come here.." Lance beckoned quietly taking Alistair's hands when he was close enough. "...I want you to hear me out first.. Then you can protest alright?" The blonde kept his head down, looking only at their hands. "...I wanted to apologize.. for taking so long and not giving you an answer right away." He began. "..I.. I can only imagine how much I hurt you in doing that, and I'm sorry. It was never my intention to hurt you." He could never hurt Alistair.
"...I have an answer now..."

Alistair made a soft whining noise. Being specifically instructed not to protest was going to kill him, because he wanted to argue everything Lance was saying. Yes, it had hurt, a lot - but it was his own fault. He never should have put Lance on the spot like he did. But instead he just stared down at their hands, slowly sinking into the chair nearer the blond.
His head jerked up when Lance said he had an answer, and his heart started to race. "And?" He managed, his voice a little faint.

As Alistair sunk into his chair, Lance stood up. "And.. I.." You what Lance? Speak damn it! Lance exhaled. Oh ******** it. He was nervous enough so if this didn't kill him on the spot, he didn't wanna know what would. Letting go of Alistair's hands, Lance leaned over and ducked his head low enough to catch Ali's in a gentle kiss.
"...I ...I've come to realize.." God damn it Lance you could do this. Four words. All he had to say was four words. "I love you too.."

Ali's heart stopped the moment Lance's lips touched his. He couldn't even begin to formulate a response for quite a while, so it wasn't necessarily a bad thing that Lance was struggling with his words, since it gave him time to resume being capable of thinking.
"I love you, too."
He'd waited so long to hear those words from Lance that when he finally did, they almost felt unreal. For a brief moment, he considered pinching himself to see if this was a dream, but he wasn't sure he could've dreamed up Lance's hesitations. "I..." His entire face lit up, and he stood up just enough to wrap his arms around Lance's shoulders and bury his face in the blond's chest. "I love you, but you already know that; I..." And then he stopped talking and lifted his head up so he could kiss Lance - properly this time, slow and gentle.

Lance wrapped his own arms around Alistair. "I'm sorry I took so long.. I never meant to hurt you..." He hugged Ali close, only loosening when Ali leaned up to kiss him again. "...I suppose.." He said when they broke. "It's worth mentioning you took my first kiss." And second.

"It's okay," Alistair said, his hands going up to gently rest on Lance's cheeks. He coughed and blushed a little. "I...did? Well." He looked a little embarrassed. He couldn't exactly say the same. "I, ah, guess should come clean, since we're doing this - the, ah, notes and flowers. In your locker. Were from me."

Lance blinked then blushed furiously. "Oh my god..."That's right in all the, uh, commotion he had forgotten about those. "I forgot about those.." He laughed slightly. How had he missed it.. "You were the only one who knew what flowers I liked.." That's why the types flowers hadn't changed. "I didn't realize you could change your handwriting like that.."

Alistair laughed. "I thought you'd have me eventually, or that you already did and were just pretending not to know," he confessed. "Though I am rather glad I can make my handwriting distinct enough to fool you. I know it was horribly cliche to do at all."

"How did you manage to stick those in there? We were together all the time?" Lance shook his head. "It might have been 'cliche' but... I thought it was sweet."
