There was just something about the situation on hand that struck Karayan as a little odd. He'd read a bit about the Ayrala dragons and where they were from, a continent called Ayr, and it was supposed to be a rather windy place... and sure, there was wind here, but there was also a rather massive expanse of golden sand. This... was this even the right place? Surely it had be... they had gotten on a ship that was supposed to take us to Ayr, right? Surely a whole ship couldn't have gotten lost. This had to be the right place and all they had to do was find their opponents, beat them as they had the Ysali dragons, gather up their orbs, and then celebrate their achievement!
Karayan gave a little bit of a sighing sound before he sat down in the sand, digging out some shoes from his pack, giving them a dirty look before he pulled them on, "I don't know about you, Madryn Col, but man I hate shoes... I wouldn't bother putting them on but the sand is sooooo hot." Stupid sand burning his feet... just standing there was uncomfortable and he couldn't really imagine trying to fight without shoes. Still, it was an awful, squishy feeling. He was probably lucky this sandy place didn't have any trees, there was no way he'd be able to climb them with these stupid shoes crushing his feet! They might not be as bad as all of that but he sure didn't like them, giving them another look as he climbed back to his feet. Blech... how he would be happy when they returned to a place with weather that permitted bare feet he thought to himself.
Turning back to his winged companion he gave a smile, "So! Let us see about finding some dragons. They have to be around somewhere, we just have to find them is all. Given the lay out of this place surely there can't be all that many places to hide, right?" Or at least he surely felt as though there couldn't be. How could something as big as a dragon hide in the sand after all... unless of course they were avid diggers. That would be interesting but surely something with an airy sounding name wouldn't dig, right? As he took his first steps forward into the desert he still couldn't help to feel as though he were missing something but figured it couldn't be that important. If it was important it would have clicked after all... or so he believed.

Karayan glanced over at his friend, tilting his head to one side, his horn decoration clinking lightly, "Eh? Why would I care about where we are? This is where the ship dropped us off after all so it's got to be the right place, right?" He asked in a curious manner, this was the place that the ship had brought them and while he wasn't quite sure about it or if it was the right place they were here. Might as well do what they could with what they had at hand, right? Surely there were dragons here of some sort even if it wasn't the Ayrala dragons. It seemed that Madryn at least echoed his sentiment about that, something that he actually found to be a good thing, not to mention that it made him smile a bit.
"Eh? Head back? Naw! I am sure we can find dragons here. They might not be Ayrala but they would be... something." What were the sand fairing dragons again? He could almost picture their names and they were on the tip of his tongue... but he just couldn't quite recall them. All he knew was that some of them must be here, "I think we should head out, find a sand fairing dragon, and beat it! Either way we get an orb right? So we are good anyway we look at it." At least that was what he felt about it. No reason that they should hesitate now just because they weren't in the right spot.
Kara laughed when he was told he needed to get his head examined, "Probably, I have fallen out of a lot of trees in my time but... eh, no reason for us to see about my head being examined when we have more interesting things to do." He chirped happily, smiling brightly, something that might have looked creepy had he bothered to do his face paint today. Instead, having thought they would be dealing with high force winds, he hadn't done so. Given all the sand it was probably a good thing he didn't, the paint would have been chalk full of sand already he was certain, "Howe about we do a small little exploration, see if we can't spot a dragon, then we can head back. We will be quick as a froglop that had too much sugar!" Not that a lot of froglops ate a lot of sugary snacks but that was beside the point.

Karayan nearly fell over backwards when Madryn suddenly caught hold of his shoulder, pulling him back. He blinked a couple times, turning to look at his Orderite friend, "What is it?" He asked, looking around, then spotted the dragon that the Orderite was likely trying to keep him from waking up, "Oooh, I see." He murmured, his voice quieter now. Awesome! They'd found their dragon! All they had to do now as finish it off! He wondered what sort of dragon this was and how he should go about this battle. It was asleep after all so surely they could get the drop on it?
"Alright... since it's sleeping I say we sneak forward and both of us use our respective weapons to end it before it even wakes up." He whispered to Madryn, reaching over to his side to draw his bone dagger from its sheath. After taking a deep breath, holding it in for a moment, the Dovaa slipped forward toward the sleeping dragon, hoping his companion would follow suit.

"Pft! It won't be able to bite our heads off if we beat it first." He said simply, as though there was no way that the two of them could lose to a sleeping dragon. Instead he was more then certain that all that they had to do was strike while it was still asleep. If they did so, and quickly, there was no way that they could lose! It was like taking candy from a baby... only in this case it was taking orbs from sleeping dragons. He looked over at Madryn, giving him a confident smile, before he continued to creep forward toward the dragon, holding his knife at the ready.
The dragon shifted, gave a rumbling sound in its throat, but didn't wake. It seemed oblivious to the fact that there were a couple of young hunters coming toward it... and it remained oblivious until the very moment that Karayan's bone dagger sank into the vulnerable flesh of its throat for the first time. After that stab the creature came awake with a gurgling roar, its eyes falling on Karayan, and it opened it's mouth, ready to try to chomp down on the Dovaa boy.

Unbeknownst to them there were more dragons headed in their direction, the one a young woman had been hunting had been joined by a second one and she was doing her best to try and avoid being burnt to a crisp via electrocution. How was she to know that today was going to lead her straight into the deranged plans of two young boys, both of pure blood races...that she wanted nothing to do with.
Her clothes ...were ravaged, a sleeve torn right off at the shoulder, her dress had seen much better days and it was hard for her to focus as she didn't like having a lot of her skin exposed and was rather self conscious of that fact. Her hair was a tangled mess as she had been on the run for the last couple of days. Grabbing moments of sleep when she was able to before she was 'hunted' once again.
This was her second day, trying to figure out the best way of defeating the one Kiandri had been enough trouble but now having to fight two seemed almost beyond irritating. Normally she wouldn't care if she lived or died...but she hadn't found her father yet...to put him out of his misery and then to end her own life had been her plan. Truth be told she wondered if she should inquire her father before killing him where her mother was...after all it was fitting if both beings who were responsible for her being brought into this world pay for it.
Dodging another crackle of lightning she was getting fast on her feet, she hated to admit that he dress being torn the way it was allowed her greater movement and she didn't find herself getting tangled up in the folds of her dress, but she could also feel the sun trying to bake her dark skin tone. Lashing back with her own blast of fire she turned and sprinted forward only to...
Realing backwards as yet ANOTHER dragon was ahead of her she almost resigned herself to dying this moment if it wasn't for the fact she spotted...
Two boys? What cruel fate was this? Tilawen was no hero. Actually she was quite the lone wolf, looking out only for herself or the few people she was actually close to. So what was she thinking as she gritted her teeth and skidded to a halt suddenly. The two dragons that were chasing her didn't have time to stop themselves or slow down and sailed past her suddenly confused.
"GET DOWN." She commanded to the two boys, though what compelled her to warn them about her immediate spell cast she would have to question herself later. Lifting her staff with both hands into the air she focused the core of her being and in one fell swoop brought the tip of it colliding to the ground. A ring of fire using Tilawen as the center erupted from her body and was sent like a wave towards dragons and kids alike. If they were smart enough they would do a she commanded. If not...well...

"What now? Well that's easy enough! All we have to do is... eh?" What was just an 'easy' enough battle, one that was supposed to be one dragon versus two of them, was sudden thrown way off kilter as a rather odd looking woman arrived with more dragons on her heels. He couldn't help but to stare at her in shock, wondering who she was and what it was that she was doing... before she tripped and landed in a heap, "Ah... woah... you think that lady is alright?" He asked of Madryn Col, not really sure what they should be doing at this moment or if they should help her or not.
When she was suddenly yelling at them to 'get down' and sending out a rather impressive wave of fire he moved, grabbing hold of his friend, and dragged Madryn down, using his own form to cover him. The fire passed over the two of them, engulfing her two dragons as well as the one that they had been tussling with, and the three of them were soon naught but dust and orbs... but it seemed that they weren't alone. All around them more roars sounded, causing even the thickheaded Karayan to realize that maybe they were in over their collective heads? Not as though he were about to give up though, not when he wanted to both get the orbs that had already dropped and more importantly he wanted to protect his friend.
"Let's see..." He looked around, counting the dragons that surrounded them, "Huh, three more... wonder if she is gonna cast another of those huge, overkill, burning death spells?" He murmured to Madryn in a hopeful manner.
