It was unusual for him to rush through chores, but in this case he couldn't help but feel a bit worried about the dovaa he had left in the forest who was still out on the hunt to kill dragons. He could only hope that he would wait for him. He had wasted a bit of time looking for his pitchfork on the way home and thus by the time he arrived back to the farm he was way behind. Gathering his tools he went about through his regular chores, and by the time he was done he had built up quite a sweat. His heart was racing at the very thought he was going back out into the forest with the intent on actually killing dragons. Looking over to where his sister was looking after the animals he felt that all too old memory splash across his mind. The fact he had lost her in the forest while they were being chased by dragons. He thought she had died and he would never forgive himself for letting her down. So it made sense that he should go out and actually try killing some dragons right? Swallowing he finished up with what he was doing and excused himself from his other additional chores he normally would do. Grabbing his pitch fork he then hurried back to the forest keeping himself as quiet as he could and heading for the stones they had hidden only a few hours ago. Looking about he didn't spot the dovaa boy right away and he wondered if he had not waited for him...and perhaps was laying somewhere hurt or dying.

Just as Madryn reached the boy they were supposed to meet up Karayan came running out of the forest toward him, nearly tackling him with excitement, "You came back!" He chirped happily, one of his pointed ears giving a little twitch of delight at the sight of the other boy. To think that he would actually come back when he seemed a little iffy about it all before. Not to mention that it seemed as though he had come equipped for battle this time, "Woah... damn... that's a wicked sort of weapon, you aren't messing around, are you?" That would most certainly work well against a bunch of dragons, of that he was certain.
"Come on! I found where they went! I bet they won't suspect that we will hit them where they live!" He said, catching hold of the other boy's wrist, moving to drag him along toward where he'd found the three dragons from earlier. He knew it was them, one of them had the tail wound after all, and now that he'd found them it was time for them to act!

Madryn hadn't expected that. Not in the least. To have someone he barely know and was dovaa as well suddenly come running towards him brimming with excitement about him coming back. He blinked as his choice of weapon was spoken of and he glanced at it wondering if it was a bit much. In fact he had wondered the exact opposite, a pitch fork looked mean but it only punched holes in things right? Not really a hack and slash type...
Before he could really reply properly the boy ...was speaking again. He spoke quickly and excitedly about how he knew where the dragons had gone off. He felt his heart rate rise a little in excitement and fear. He was really going to do this...go hunt dragons. If his sister knew ...she would kill him.
"Wait. Before we run of I need to know your name...I can't really be hunting with someone I don't even know their name.." Madryn clearly stated placing the butt of his pitch fork in the ground as if to emphasis that he wasn't going to move from that spot.

Karayan gave a chuckle, turning around to face the other boy, "Oh don't be silly! Surely I..." He gave pause, seeming to think about something for a moment, then laughed again though more heartily this time, "Oh wait, no, maybe I didn't tell you my name, huh? Ahahahaha, that is so like me. I guess we were too caught up in the moment to really care about names, huh?" Something that would sound far different were the two of them older but for the moment at least the words read as being innocent enough.
"Well then, I apologize for forgetting about that, my name is Karayan though you can just call me Kara or Ray or Yan or whatever else you can shorten by name to. I really don't mind one way or the other." He said, deciding that it was best that they get the introductions out of the way swiftly, preferably before someone came and stole their dragons out from under them. It seemed as though the stubborn, if cute, Orderite wasn't going to go anywhere without the polite exchange anyway so that was an added reason to do what the other wanted, "And you are?"

Giving a raised eyebrow he wondered breifly if all dovaa were like this Karayan. Was shortening a name really something that you did with someone you just met? Sueno called him many nick names...Din Din being the worst....but he tolerated it only from her. She was his littler sister after all.
"Madryn Col. Don't shorten it," Madryn managed after a moment. No he didn't need strangers calling him strange names ...his real name was fine. "If your so eager to go hunting I guess we should get on with it. I don't want to be out here after dark....they have better night vision than we do." He commented dryly before he looked around. This boy was strange...almost too...flamboyant to be seriously considering to go on a hunt for dragons.

Karayan starred at his Orderite companion for a long moment then said with a little salute, "Sure thing Captain Stuffypants, I promise not to shorten your name!" He winked before added, "For real though, Madryn Col it is, no Mad, no Ryn, no Dryn even though that one sounds kind of cool." He'd at least try his best not to give his new friend a shortened version of his name even if there were so many good ones that could be had from a name like his. Best that he go along with what Madryn Col wanted though since he really did want to go on a hunt with him.
Giving the other boy a big, toothy smile he then said, "Come on then, let's get while the getting is good and the dragons are where we can more easily get them." He didn't want to lose track of them again since that meant finding new ones. He wasn't sure if that would be difficult or not but best not to risk it by being too slow, "They are this way!" He said, turning on his heel then trotted off in the direction he'd last seen the trio of Ysali in.

Madryn stared blankly at other boy, you could almost see a vein popping on his forehead at the title 'captain stuffy pants'. But rather than get angry he looked away clutching his pitchfork in a manner that suggested that he was irritated. Having a bunch of nicknames mentioned off handedly only caused him to be more irritated. He was happy when Karayan decided it was time to go hunt. Giving an exasperated sigh he turned and nodded, "Yes but lets think the plan of attack through this time..I mean we saw what happened last time you stuck a dragon with your little dagger..." It wasn't meant to sound mean, but to Madryn this was a very important turning point in his life. If he could defeat dragons he would have a better time protecting his sister, family and the farm. Following after Karayan he wondered if there was something wrong with him, he was just too...chipper and happy to be real right? Maybe he was still dreaming..

"A plan of attack? I figured I would stab them with this," He patted the dagger sheathed at his side, "And you would use that scary weapon of yours to do the same. Eh? Little dagger? I will have you know this is an amazing bone dagger my Grannie made herself and gave to me. I am sure it will work wonders, I just have to land a good hit is all." That being the difficult part. He'd figure it out though, that was what this was all about after all, they were going out to hunt the Ysali first because they were the weakest of the dragons and as such were the ones that they were supposed to start out with. He was sure that with time they would figure out how to fight them fine! Of course now that the other boy mentioned it he found himself debating over various 'plans of attack'.
Giving a thoughtful sound he finally said, "Well... how about... you hide in the shadows, I lure them in, and then you stab them while their attention is one me? Good plan, right? I thought so! Come on, over here!" He rushed on ahead now that the plan had been established, sure that Madryn Col would be able to hold of his end of the plan just fine given the weapon he was wielding.

The young orderite stared at the boy wondering if he had a death wish. What kind of plan of attack was that? Stab at them? No plan? He tried not to look irritated as he rubbed his temples. "But we can't just go stab at them...we are just kids, they are dragons. To them your dagger is merely a thorn in their side.." He stated trying to do the best and think for them both this time. Though when Karayan came up with an actual plan he had to frown.
"that sounds...dangerous...I dunno..." He mused tapping his weapon hilt against the heel of his boot. He didn't like the idea of using someone as bait, even if it was the only thing that seemed plausible. It was as if he was unable to think beyond the plan suggested.
"O..kay but...I don't like it....where should I hide?"

"We will figure that out when we get there." He said, continuing to lead the way until they arrived where the trio of dragons were currently hanging out. He gave a grin, motioning at them, "There they are, just like I said! See, you can see the one with the stab wound in the tail." He was quite pleased, it meant that they had a chance of finishing their opponents off! It was something that they should do, it would be weak and cowardly of them to just run off and not try again he thought to himself. Now the question was where to hide Madryn Col. He set to work inspecting the area for a moment before he gave a pleased sound, "Ah-ha!"
Catching hold of the other boy's wrist he pulled him over to stand next to a wide tree, "You wait here behind this tree, I will tick them off and lead them passed you. The trees are pretty close together here so they will only be able to pass through one at a time meaning they will be easy pickings for sure!" With that he clapped Madryn on the back, gave him a grin, before he went rushing forward. Time to lure in the dragons so that Madryn and his stabby weapon of death could finish them off. It would be quite easy with something like that, Kara was sure of it, and all he had to do was tick the dragons off. Now that should be simple enough all he needed was... ah-ha!
The Dovaa was quick to scoop up some rocks, rocks that were soon sent flying forward. The first few missed but one of them bounced off the side of one of the Ysali's heads, a perfect shot. Karayan watched as the three of them turned to look toward where he was standing before he whirled around and proceeded to haul a** back toward where his Orderite companion was waiting to slay the dragons.

Madryn was yanked over and he couldn't stop himself from then staggering slightly and having to use Karayan for support. He blushed slightly as it seemed that he had been rather uncomfortable close to the dovaa many times this day. Licking his lips he looked away and tried to pay attention instead to where the dragons were. Yes he noticed the one that had the small wound on its tail...and he still wondered if they would live to see the end of the day.
Though before he could whisper to Karayan about his doubts the boy was gone. Trotting off towards the dragons and picking up rocks, oh wait no! He wanted to call out but Madryn knew it would betray his position. So instead he wet his lips and clutched his weapon and tried to stop himself from shaking in nervousness.
He had never killed anything before, he had watched his father slaughter animals for meat and it always made his stomach cringe. What would happen if they couldn't kill the dragons? Would they die here?
Left with his multitude of worries and questions he didn't have a chance to worry too long as he spotted Karayan sprinting in his direction. He was still obscured by the tree so he had to think quickly. He heard the dragons roaring and crashing through the forest in hot pursuit. What should he do???
As Karayan darted past him and he spotted the green hide of the first dragon come into view he waited for it to be slightly past before he finally dared to strike out. His aim was for the the second one and he aimed for the dragon's hind quarter in a hopes to impale important ligaments that would cause the dragon to stumble and fall.

Karayan stumbled a bit when the ground itself seemed to give a shudder as the dragon that Madryn attacked went down, something that caused him to turn, doing his best to avoid the snapping jaws of the first Ysali, "Looking good, Madryn Col! Now go for the killing blow! BAM! Right in the neck!" He called out, cheering the Orderite on before he gave a squeal, dancing around a tree to avoid the Ysali once more. This one, the one with the tail wound, seemed not to even look at Madryn. It's attention was solely on Karayan and why not? The boy had first stabbed the dragon then threw rocks at it, it was the Dovaa this one wanted the most to eat, not Madryn. It helped the Orderite a bit leaving him with two dragons, one downed already, that he had to deal with at the moment.
It also helped that where the dragon fell was between a couple trees, forcing the third one to go around to get back into the action. It would give the boys a bit of time to contend with the first two at least before the third one joined in the battle again.
The Dovaa boy did his best to try to keep an eye on what the Orderite was doing, drawing a knife, and taking a few slashes and stabs where he could. The more the fought with the Ysali the more he considered the fact that he should probably see about getting a better weapon... or magic or something... not that he'd admit it though. He'd told Madryn Col that this weapon was a good one and he would do his best to stick that claim for now... though once he was able to do so he was gonna find a better way to go about this hunting dragons this.

The young orderite was in the process of removing his pitchfork from the leg of the dragon he attacked while also avoiding the snapping of teeth from the dragon he was attempting to kill. It was when he managed to yank the weapon free he heard his 'friends' words of encouragement. Why the heck was he talking at a time like this? Unless it was to warn him about an attack why would he waste his breath?
"Just kill your own dragon!" He shouted back with contempt as he then jabbed at the dragon's face which snapped at him. He then had to avoid being bitten by the third dragon that was trying to help its wounded comrade. It took him several dodges, and stab attempts before he finally managed to wound the dragon enough that it was sure to die. Now he just had another angry dragon trying to eat him.
