A few days after her encounter with the pipe wielding reaper, Astra was still annoyed about the hole situation but not as much as before. She had shown who that ghoul was boss so she was hoping she wouldn't mess with the fae again. And if she did, she'd go all stabidy stab-stab. For now she chose to push that aggravating incident away as she jumped about the undergrowth in the weeping woods. There were always yummy bugs here, and she was keen for a snack. They weren't always easy to find though, it took alot of looking and lifting of rotten logs. As she lifted up one, a large white grub fell out, which she was quick to pick up, and sitting on the log she took a bite out of the squirming insect. Omnomnom

The woods weren't Ruth's ideal place to hang out but she was going to have to learn how to deal with varying terrain when she graduated. So while she didn't see herself being in any place particularly nature-y or in a jungle that wasn't urban, she might as well get in some practice. Besides, the eerie sounds of the weeping woods were music to her ears.
A rustling of leaves and the creaking of wood caught her attention, and quietly, the reaper ducked low, crawling through the undergrowth, unmindful of the creepy crawlies and mud. The blonde was obviously not someone who was afraid to get down and dirty.
Imagine her surprise to find it was the older ghoul who'd given her a good leaf-lashing. So the third year liked to eat bugs? Good to know. Her mouth parted into a wide grin as she purposely rustled the bushes to gain attention.

The antenna on her head stood to attention, acting like two sensors that pointed in the way of the noise. She couldn't actually sense anything with them, but they liked to move at random intervals.
Quickly finishing off her grub, Astra hoped off the log and floated near the bush. Was it another bug to devour? Chances were low since it seemed too big to be a bug. Curiosity gnawed at her insides though, she wanted to find out what it was.
..Just as long as it wasn't a big fire breathing dragon.
For now though she peered into the bush before reaching in with a hand. Maybe she could pull whatever it was out of there....

That's it... that's it... come closer. She wasn't going to challenge her to another fight, not this soon at least. Ruth waited patiently, rustling the leaves a tad more until Astra was just close enough for her to SURPRISE!!!! the older ghoul by leaping up to suddenly try to hug her.

Astra had managed to make a smal hole inside the bush, were she stuck her head inside to see if she could locate the thing. Though this wasn't the most smartest of things she had done, the fae wasn't going to leave until she knew what it-
"AAHHHHH!"
Oh, it was her.
She looked up with wide frightened eyes at first, but as the ghoul went to hug her she jumped back, and in a flash she was up the tree and holding onto a branch for dear life.
"You...YOU!: She squeaked, pointing a accusing finger at Ruth.

Ruth was at it again with the silent laughter, the rustling of foliage the closest substitute to an actual audible laugh. The blonde's shoulders shook as one hand outright pointed at Astra while the other clutched at her sides.
Oh yes, the wide grin seemed to say before Ruth emerged from the bushes and leaped right into a faux pirouette, seemingly declaring Me~ After one spin, one of Ruth's hands rested on her hips, head inclined in curiosity. With the other, she gestured to the log and the traces of scattering creepy crawlies.

The fairy was practically shaking now, absolutely loathing the silent laugher that emanated from Ruth. Why did she always have to make such a fool of her?! Her shaking did not stop when it seemed the reaper wanted to know what was up with the bugs that crawled around the log and what she was doing. "That was my snack" She said, clearly angrily but still gracing the ghoul with a response. "But I don't feel like eating them anymore. I hope they eat you, though!" With that she started pelting acorns at Ruth, before suddenly vanishing from sight. Or at least she hoped it would appear like that. In actuality she had hid behind the trunk, and quickly jumped to another branch. If she could get down to the ground without being seen, then she could extract some revenge on this little upstart...

Even if Ruth was the type who spoke, she wouldn't have explained to the older ghoul just why the reaper enjoyed acting this way. As far as the baseball cap-wearing blonde was concerned, it was pretty jacking obvious she was loving every little bit of the demon's discomfort.
She did quirk a brow at the mention of the bugs being food. Huh, and here she thought demons were the classier members of Halloween. You learn something new everyday. She was about to lean down to sample some for herself when the acorns started to hit her. Raising her arms to shield her face allowed Astra to sneak up into the trees.
Awww, did she leave? Ruth pouted, arms akimbo as she scanned the forest for any sign of movement, and listened for any sounds of rustling.

While Ruth was trying to locate the fairy, said fairy was hiding behind a tree trunk that thankfully wasn't in the line of the reapers vision. For now at least. Her hands gripped the edge of the bark as she watched her quarry scan the area, wings tucked behind her back just encase Ruth was perceptive enough to know where she was just from her wing beats. With one hand still holding on, the other dug through her pockets looking around for something else she could use. Her face lit up as she grasped a few FEAR candies, these were something she could use. Taking carefull aim (and using as much math and wind direction as she could remember from class), Astra threw one candy in a arcing motion, watching it land somewhere away from her tree. She then did the same with the other fear candy in the opposite direction, and then let go of her tree to drop to the ground, her wings preventing her from going splat. Quietly she peaked out from the tree to see how Ruth would react.

As the first FEAR candy landed, Ruth turned towards the general vicinity of the sound. She was about to head for it but paused when the second FEAR candy rustled leaves as it fell to the ground. Was the older ghoul that fast to get from one point to another so easily and without being spotted?
Or was one just a diversionary tactic? Assuming the first one was meant to be a diversion, Ruth headed towards the area where the second suggestion of movement came from, though the bill of her cap moved up and down as well as side to side.
In areas with buildings, it always paid to keep a lookout for any low roofs and windows. She wasn't sure what the equivalent of that was for forests, maybe she ought to look it up?

Chances are the fairy wouldn't be able to perform such feats of speed herself. Or at the very least she couldn't do it without making a ruckus and defeating the entire purpose of the candies, but non the less she had succeeded in that part. Ruth was more interested in her second projectile and did not realize just where she really was. The next part of her plan was going to be far more difficult to perform. It required a hole new level of stealth that Astra didn't know if she possessed, but she was daring enough to see if she could. Quietly she stepped through the forest undergrowth, taking great care not to step on any fallen twigs as she darted behind another tree. She paused long enough to look under the fallen log, hand grasping something as she took shelter behind the object, again looking up to see were the reaper was. She could tell she was closer to Ruth now. Only a few more steps and she would reach her, but had she been discovered? Keeping a firm hold on the centipede she had just retrieved, she waited for the perfect moment.

An older Agent would have better developed senses than a fledgeling like Ruth would, which was why despite keeping her eyes peeled and her ears open for any strange sounds, the older ghoul's light footsteps went undetected. The blonde kept heading for the direction the second sound came from but then paused in thought. Should she be approaching her target from this direction or should she try from a different angle? What was she going to do once she found Astra again? Pondering out in the open was a bad idea, and it prompted the reaper to hide behind a large tree.

Astra watched the reaper with rapt attention, tensing up as she stopped. Was this the moment she had been waiting for? She was about to jump out but stopped herself. Ruth had moved again, but now she had hidden herself behind a tree. For a moment she frowned, fretting that the ghoul would be much harder to reach. But she soon realized that this was what she had been waiting for. Ruth wasn't going to move if she was hiding, right? Again the fairy darted from her hiding spot. her steps light and quick as she flew behind each and every tree to get closer to the one Ruth hid behind, moving in a large circle until she was behind the big tree. A moments paused so she could catch her breath, before she made her move. Astra darted forwards, jumping right behind Ruth and letting the centipede drop hopefully down the back of her shirt, before she darted off again towards the closest tree she could find.

There was the faintest hint of movement coming from behind her. But Ruth noticed it too late because the movement ceased to be behind her and was now down her jacking blouse! The skittering of those multiple legs was not a very comfortable feeling and Ruth did not relish or enjoy it one bit.
Though her mouth was open in a yell, no sound came out. Just the visible tension of her shoulders before her arms scrabbled at her back. When the Jack did that fall out of the tree? And more importantly how did it fall without her hearing it getting knocked off?
Her attention for Astra was forgotten as she focused on trying to get the bug out of her blouse. And when it decided to stay out of reach, Ruth hurled herself against the tree's trunk back-first in an attempt to squish it.

It was a complete successAstra had darted up to a tree branch so she could watch the unfolding spectacle from above. And what a spectacle it was! She made no attempt to hide herself now, doubling over and laughing at Ruth's misfortune. And when the reaper had smashed herself into the tree she began to laugh even louder. Watching Ruth make a fool of herself was one of the best things ever.. "He he he!" Her giggles echoed around the forest trees. "Thats what you get for messing with me!" It felt so good to extract her revenge, and she hoped that her point had been made to the snot reaper. Astra would not tolerate Ruth and every time she tried to do, the fae would prove just how much better she was.
