There were a lot of things going on in Valhalla’s life that he could have been spending his time doing other than keeping a look out for youma, or any trouble really. He still went out with the anxiety that he might run into another situation like the one Bischofite had created.
While there really was nothing he could have done to change the outcome of the other two situations he’d heard had taken place, at least he knew he’d done what he could when he’d been involved. There was nothing more that could be done aside from keeping an eye out for ways to prevent more from getting hurt.
And so Valhalla, instead of staying at home with his spouse, helping her with whatever he could to keep her spirits up as well, was out on the city, alert for any kind of aura that might mean trouble.
But the aura that he did sense was definitely not one of the Negaverse or the DMC. Instead it felt familiar to him — a knight? Curious and feeling more lighthearted now that he knew he wasn’t the only one around that night, Valhalla made his way towards the point where he’d felt the other, leaping from one roof to the next, until he caught sight of a familiar acquaintance.
“Falias,” he greeted as more of a sigh of relief than anything else. “How are you…?” He’d only met the knight of Earth on maybe a couple other occasions, but seeing familiar faces was always nice.

It had become pretty routine for Marlin to close up shop on the days that he didn't meet up with the gang over at the Firebird where they ran their amateur theatre group, find somewhere secluded and patrol for a while as Falias. It wasn't every night where he didn't have amateur theatre that he did this, he sometimes took a night or two off, but somehow over the 6 months since discovering that he was a Page and that Destiny City had a whole host of weird stuff going on underneath the day to day normallicy such as monsters roaming around and attack happy dark-clad people who liked hurting people (aka those who seemed to follow the Negaverse). Six months, it was strange to think that half a year had passed already since his April awakening as Falias and finding out that monsters were real and called youma. The quiet night in conjuction with him being caught up a bit in his thoughts meant that the stronger aura was virtually on top of him before Falias noticed it, slight wariness in his stance before he recognised it as being like Camelot's rather than the skin-tingling jitterness that he'd come to associate with Chaos. As he relaxed he heard his name being called, looking over and spotting a familiar-looking Jupiter Knight "I'm fine thanks" his smile was cheerful as he spoke, as he took a few moments to mentally place the other "Valhalla right?"

Valhalla smiled when he was addressed in return, moving closer to Falias to look him over and make sure he was okay. “Yeah,” he confirmed with a nod at the question of his name. He didn’t mind at all if people didn’t quite remember him as well as he remember them, because in the end the little details didn’t matter.
“You haven’t come across any trouble tonight, have you?” he asked, still wary about all the goings on in the city. There were too many instances of youma and negaverse attacks to make him feel comfortable to not go out and make sure things were okay in the city at night.
He was glad that Falias looked like he was okay, at the very least. He looked cheerful and still fairly full of energy — not worn down and always exhausted, like so many others. It was good to come across those still in good spirits. Maybe that will help determine the outcome of the war. They just would never give up.

Falias shook his head "No it's been pretty quiet on my end. Yours?" Actually if he was going to think on it, it felt almost too quiet considering that quite a few of his night time patrols had seemed to end in some sort of run in, but Falias was trying not to think too hard in it and instead make the most of the quiet. As he waited for the more experienced Knight's answer he absently fiddled with the ribbon wound round the piece of mistletoe that he had stuck in his pocket. It would be nice not to have to either limp home or end up having to dig out the ice for an ice pack for once.

”That’s good,” Valhalla said with a small sigh of relief. While he was worried about how quiet the Negaverse and DMC were being, he was also glad to know that there really wasn’t any trouble going on that he was unaware of.
“No, not much since the Carnival incident,” he shared with a small frown. His experiences there still left him with nightmares, but he was determined not to end up in the same predicament twice. If he ever had to approach a Negaverse officer again, he would definitely be more careful about how easily accessable his starseed was.
Curious, Valhalla smiled and nodded towards Falias’s pocket. “Is that your weapon?” He sometimes fiddled with his weapon as well, but it was all speculation. For all he knew, it was just a string he was messing with.

"Well I'm not sure if it can really be called a weapon" Falias said, his cheerful smile fading slightly as Valhalla nodded towards his pocket. He sighed as he pulled out the mistletoe, the two bells chiming slightly at the movement. "But apparently it is." He still saw it as more of some screwed up cosmic joke himself. "The ribbon's come in handy as a makeshift bandage" as he’d found out after a painful encounter with a Nega-Captain's weapon. "But it's not been much good for anything else."

While Falias’s smile faded, Valhalla’s grew. He knew exactly how this knight might be feeling in regards to his weapon. “You’ll be fine… the magic is usually more helpful than the weapon. I try not to think of mine as a weapon if I can help it, anyway,” he said, reaching down to pull the chain up from where it was attached to his belt, showing Falias the strange looking compass with rings around it.
“I’m no expert… but I think these… things… weapons or objects, or whatever… They’re not supposed to help us fight, but rather help us learn more about ourselves.”
Even to Valhalla, one who would never claim to be flowery with words, felt like his response was strange and awkward, and he laughed to try and make it seem less… weird.
“Sorry… I guess I just got used to how useless it is by itself. I really don’t know how I ended up with it… On Valhalla… on Jupiter… I haven’t had any memories of using a compass for more than a compass…” Maybe it was more symbolic than anything?

Falias studied Valhalla's weapon with interest, the whole thing coming across as a complex-looking compass - a complex-looking compass complete with rings and felt a little better about the whole mistletoe thing, although he wasn't sure personally what a piece of mistletoe was supposed to tell him about himself given that the only thing he really knew about the plant was that it was often hung up at Christmas and that the plant was a parasitic one. And he seriously hoped that that wasn't what the thing was supposed to tell him about himself. He gave Valhalla a curious look at the mention of Jupiter as he asked "Valhalla on Jupiter?" Something about the way the other had phrased it had come across as sounding a little odd to his ears.

Valhalla stared back at Falias for a moment, before realizing that not everyone knew what their Wonders were, or even how to get there. It wasn’t anything to be ashamed of — he’d taken a while to go to his, but it had also provided him with some strange… not insight, but what he’d seen had been intriguing.
“Every knight has a Wonder… er… or a place that they protected, from my understanding. Like how Senshi were guardians of the places in space they’re named after, knights have places too, usually designated on whatever they’ve pledged allegiance to in the past.”
He paused to show Falias a small smile, realizing this was probably confusing. “You’re a knight of Earth, so that means your Wonder is here, but don’t let that fool you. There’s some kind of magic involved, and if you wanted to go, you’ll still need to focus on that desire,” he explained. “It’s… different than what is scientifically possible, or at least to human understanding. Kind of like how when we’re like this, people who we might know won’t recognize us.”

Actually he hadn’t know that about senshi, but then again Falias hadn’t really encountered all that many senshi - and out of them there’d only been two that he’d had any sort of conversation with - and not much conversation at that. He listened to Valhalla’s explanation about Wonders, mentally filing away the information. He mentally filed the information about Knights pledging allegiance to their Wonders, wondering as he did so if this was what the civilian that had accosted him that one night had been going on about when she’d asked him about what he’d pledged too. "So Falias is a place that I can technically travel too" he said at last once the Jupiter Knight had finished his explanation, then something else Valhalla had mentioned suddenly struck him. "Wait by allegiance in the past are you talking about past lives or something?" The more he talked to Valhalla, the more Falias was beginning to realise that he actually knew very little about being a knight.

”Absolutely,” Valhalla said with a smile and nod as Falias confirmed what he’d been saying, but then hesitated when the topic of the past came up. He paused to try and think of the best way to explain it, not wanting to confuse a new knight who seemed to be interested in trying to visit their Wonder.
“Yes… and no…” he started, hoping Falias wouldn’t think he was wishy-washy because of his answer. He knew enough about how things worked to explain it, but he doubted he knew everything, and that there could always be an exception to prior events and experiences.
“It was a little hard for me to accept at first… that everything I’ve been raised to believe might be a lie… But then I realized, it’s not so much a lie as a misunderstanding. As we are now, living on Earth in the present day, it’s pretty hard to convince others that many are actually reborn from people in the past, living all across the universe, but…” That all being said, the figured he should actually explain his yes and no answer.
“From what I’ve learned from talking to others… it seems as though all senshi living now have been reborn, and that yes, they have past lives they can see glimpses of when they visit their worlds.” It was a little frightening to experience, and he could distinctly remember having to stop Ganymede from walking onto a balcony that no longer existed.
“But knights are a little different. Some are reborn, with past lives… but until I discovered that for myself, it had been popular opinion that knights had ancestors, instead… That the… Valhalla of the past would be at my Wonder, waiting to talk to me and guide me. Like a ghost-mentor or something… But when I actually went there, I didn’t meet anyone, but started having… memories, I guess… small ones, just glimpses of who I might have been in another life…”
He paused to shake his head, realizing he was rambling. “Either way, it’s quite an experience… You’ll have to focus on who you are as Falias to be able to go there… it should come naturally, when you’re ready.”

Valhalla had nothing to worry about, Falias didn't think him wishy-washy at all. He did however, feel confused as he listened to the more experienced Knight's answer to his question about past lives, the whole thing serving to underscore even more how little he knew about this Knight stuff he seemed to be a part off. "To be honest it sounds a little confusing and not exactly logical" he admitted. Actually some of it sounded more than a little confusing and logic kind of went out the window, especially if Falias tried too think too hard on the ancestor idea, which he could just about managed to stretch until he started to think about Knights other than Earth Knights. He sighed, a slightly wry note to his voice, "Then again magic isn't exactly logical and that's turned out to be real too," adding "I think I'd like to see my Wonder at some point though." Even though he had no idea how he would know whether or not he was ready.

The knight of Jupiter couldn’t help the small smile at Falias’s admittance to his explanation being confusing, not expecting anything less. There was a lot even he didn’t understand, and others who had been there longer than he had still had difficulties with everything.
“You should… it might be very worthwhile…” he said with a nod, but then shrugged. “It took me a while to go to mine, so don’t think you have to right away. Just… whenever you feel like it’s the right time.” There was a small pause as his smile relaxed and he looked over the other young man.
Along with a lot of things that no one really understood, there came a lot of dangers, too. “Just be careful, okay…?” he requested, although he was sure Falias had every intention to be careful… still… stuff happened that no one could ever prepare for.

"I'll try to" Falias said. He might have found himself dragged into some sort of war, but he didn't want to die for it. He hadn't had much luck with his run ins with the other side to date though - most of them had seemed to end up in some sort of confrontation. Falias had also started to have serious wonderings about the rationality of some of the Nega-Agents, half convinced that being crazy was a requirement of membership - at least it seemed to be if he was to go by some of the ones that he'd been unfortunate to cross paths with to date. He shook his head, not wanting to dwell on the way his thoughts had turned, instead smiling slightly at Valhalla as he added "But I'll remember that - about it maybe taking a while" even as he wondered how he or rather the magic would know that he was ready. It would be nice if there was some sort of sign, something simple like some sort of time stating 'it's time' or something would be great - especially if it came complete with some sort of instructions. Falias had the feeling that it wouldn't be so simple though and he already knew that instructions was a nice but wistful fantasy.

Valhalla nodded to show he understood that Falias would try. That was all that mattered, after all. No matter what happened, as long as one was true to themselves, it would be okay in the end. Valhalla knew that it might lead to his own death — keeping to his morals and beliefs — but at least his conscience would be clear.
“I’ll see you around then,” he said with a grin wider than before. “Let me know if you need anything — ah!” he paused, realizing that it might help to explain what he’d meant. “When you’re on your Wonder… keep a lookout for one of these,” he said, holding up his right hand to show him what looked like a ring with a hollow shape in the center. “You’ll figure it out eventually… but it’ll help you to communicate with others…”
He left it at that, figuring there wasn’t any point in telling him everything. Why not leave some sense of wonder for motivation? litian Done? Unless you wanted to wrap it up! <3
