It had been about a week since her talk with Master Ysaride. It was then that she knew what she needed to do. Obviously it would help her training if she did go out and beat the Ysali dragons needed. The Dovaa sat in her room, looking in her lockbox at the many orbs that still filled it. Sure, she had given her most powerful orbs to Ysaride to prove her worth, but when he told her that she had the potential to unlock her True Form, she was most pleased. She knew that taking the time to kill these Ysali dragons, oh, how many more orbs did she need? One. Two. Thee. Three more Ysali orbs to equal the five total that Marcus Ysaride told her to have before their next meeting. That was fine with her. Only three more orbs and she would finally be able to completely unlock this powerful form that very few Dovaa had the opportunity to unlock; either because Master Ysaride didn't feel they were powerful enough, worthy enough, or because they were just plain lazy. Either way, when the master told her she had the potential; and even told her what she needed, the Dovaa was floored and couldn't wait to get started.
A week of planning occurred before she realized she was ready to go out again. It was just a few Ysali dragons she needed to fight, and in the world, they weren't too strong. The Dovaa were much more powerful. She just needed to fight her own kind was all.
As soon as she packed up her things, she left the house ready for adventure. As she walked out into the Forests of Aurinead, she saw someone...or rather, multiple someones in the distance. As she came closer to this little group of people, she realized more and more that these people were familiar.
"Oh gods...is that!? KARST!?! KARAK!?!" she called and both boys turned to look at their older sister.
It was them! The Dovaa hadn't seen her brother's in quite some time, and she began to glide quickly over to them, hitting both with a thumping hug. "Kav! What are you doing out here?! We were actually planning on coming to visit you after a bit of dragon hunting with our trainees here." Karst said as he returned the hug.
"Hunting Ysali? I was actually planning on doing the same. I have to save some of their souls for my True Form." she replied, proud to be the one to say it.
"Oh wow, you'll be the first one in the family to acquire that...even if you were the last one to reach Master level, haha." Karak retorted.
Kavanna laughed and punched the Firani's arm. "Oh shut up, you know why I wasn't able to work on my mastery. I had Damian to care for. But when I went to prove my worth to Ysaride, he told me to bring him the Ysali orbs after I've finished my Expert level training. So...that's what I am doing. He said I have great potential to unlock my True Form." she laughed. She was quite excited and couldn't wait to fully give herself over to her dragon form.
"Oh Karak, stop. Yes, we're hunting Ysali for the sake of our little ones here. This is Yvaala, she's wanting to become a Gaili Dovaa one day, and this is Haevan, a hopeful Peisio like yours truly." Karst stated with a smile.
She then turned her attention to her other brother, who had just begun introducing the two students. "Well it's very nice to meet you both. Yvaala and Haevan, I'm Kavanna, these little twerps older sister." she said, coming down to their level for the time being. The each smiled and stayed quiet. They didn't want to interrupt the adults speaking.
The Firani laughed. "Well, I know we both wish you the best of luck."
Kavanna stood back up and nodded. "Thank you. So, how is everything going with you guys?" she asked the boys.
"Pretty well actually. We've just been traveling with these little guys for about a month now. All around Serenia and Soudul. Next stop is Eowyn after we head back to the Celestial Plane and have them choose their clan. They're great students. We also plan to pick up one more student when we head back there. How about yourself? How's Damian and Alex? Have you spoken to either Kaylen or Melanie lately? Nadia?" the Firani explained, ending with the question.
Kavanna listened and smiled. "That all sounds so exciting, Karak. I'm so proud of you two, being teachers. I have actually begun training students myself, only out of my home, not so much on the road. My first student was extremely powerful. He was a Hybrid. Orderite and Dovaa, just like Damian. I hope to have more students like that in the future. As for the family. I haven't visited lately. I did go up there to put my fliers around a bit a few months ago. They were doing just fine then. I can only hope the same is said for now. Why don't you train Damian and Nadia? They're both on their Adept levels...and I know Damian has always looked up to his Uncle Karst and gran. So why not take those two on? I'm sure they would love the additional training. I could always ask Nadia if she wants further training in the Ysali magic. We have to stick together after all." she replied.
"We have thought about that, actually. I think it would be good to do in the future. But hey, we should get going to battle some Ysali, are you going to join us, Kavanna? Since you need the orbs too, after all." Karst asked with a kind smile.
"Of course I will." Kavanna quickly replied happily. She was excited to not only be going out onto this hunt, but doing it with family and some apprentices that needed the experience.
~~~
"ARRAHHH!" Karst cried as he blasted water towards one of the four Ysali that had ganged up to attack the group of Dovaa.
Fire flung off the fingertips of the Firani Dovaa's hands, burning another.
Yet another was being whipped down by Kavanna's vines.
The last was being double teamed by the two apprentices with their daggers.
Plant energy abound during that fight. Suddenly, a death call of one Ysali was heard. Ash was all that could be seen with five orbs found within it. Then, another death call was released. Then a third. Finally, the fourth and last could be heard echoing throughout the forest. All four Ysali had died to the hands of the five Dovaa.
Kavanna gathered the four orbs she had been given. "You guys, thank you so much for the amazing time. Lets go back to the house and make some dinner. You can all stay with us for the night and return to the Celestial Plane in the morning if you'd like. It is getting late out after all." the Ysali said, placing the orbs inside a large pocket of hers.
"Yes! Can we?! Pleaaaase!" Yvaala pleaded, finally speaking up. She wanted to rest and eat a meal. It had been a tough day for the little apprentice.
"Yes, I agree." the other little apprentice, Haevan, said, nodding his head in agreement with his partner.
Kavanna looked at her younger brothers who then looked at each other and back at her. "Yes, we'll go eat a bite and leave in the morning. Thank you Kav for the hospitality." Karst said, a smile upon his face.
"You guys are family, you're allowed to stop by anytime you see fit. You are always welcome."
With that, the entire group began their trek back to the Naraama house for fun, family, rest, and a good meal to satisfy their hungry stomachs.
