T a l e n t s:: Talents? I can read and write quite well, but that isn't a talent anymore, is it...well, I'm good at languages. I also have a good sense of direction. Or at least, my guesses are usually right...
Q u i r k s:: If I'm around someone who's lying, or who has committed a terrible crime, I become physically ill. Not because of them, but because the instinct to...eat them is so strong. I squeak when surprised and will often climb on the tallest thing possible if I see a bug. I'm also very self-conscious about my horn.
S k i l l s:: As a Hai Chiai, I can sense when someone is guilty of a crime. Traditionally, my race would devour those guilty and we don't do that much anymore, but the instinct is still strong. I can usually avoid that by eating a good steak. Not raw. I also can transform into my beast form, which resembles a white lion with a horn protruding from the forehead, much like a unicorn. I can also differentiate between a harmless white lie, such as someone trying to spare a friend's feelings or someone showing off, and a blacker lie that causes harm. Only the latter rouses my instincts - otherwise we could never get anything done in the modern world! I was taught how to take on a 'human' form to blend in easier while I travel, hiding my horn. It alters my eyes and hair a bit, changing the hues, but that's it. It's merely a disguise.

P e r s o n a l i t y:: Well...gosh, how do I describe myself? Like the majority of my race, I'm more mature for my age. It's mostly due to the fact that we can see into the hearts of people and have to learn how to control our instincts from a very young age. I'm a bit of an introvert, because I grew up in a very sheltered environment, closed off from the world. So I'm a little bit shy, but I am very friendly once you talk to me! Honest!
I'm very excited to get to go out in the world and explore it and learn, actually. Even if I am a little bit afraid of all the strange things, I know they won't be so strange once I learn about them. I'm very hesitant to speak to people and I try to judge them before I actually have to talk to them, to try to avoid talking to people who might start lying and force my instincts to the surface. It's more of a matter of being careful to avoid any incidents than judging people because I'm a snob. I know I have to be careful how I interact with people, but I'm not really sure how to do that.
Oh, this is very odd, to be talking about myself. I'm not a violent person, save for when my bestial nature comes to the surface. I'm friendly, just...cautious. I suppose that's a good word for me. Cautious...yes, that works.
H i s t o r y:: Ohhh...there really isn't anything much interesting, but I'll do my best. I grew up in a compound on Dolni Kara Mustafa in Serbia. It's the highest peak and we can be isolated from humans and other creatures there. That part is important, because our natures are...not volatile, exactly. But the eating bit...that takes some time to master and gain control of. So we're raised in a very inclusive environment, only among our own kind. I was an only child, but had a dozen or so playmates. So it wasn't as if I grew up all alone or anything like that. I had a very happy childhood, learning about my culture and my nature and history. Just like human children would, I suppose?
When we reach one hundred and fifty years of age - as I am now - that's when we're deemed old enough and responsible enough to go out into the world to learn. Usually, there are always exceptions. But for the most part, we go our separate ways. There isn't anything in particular we have to do - it's simply to learn and grow and expand our knowledge of the world. Perhaps do some good. Some find love and never return, other find causes to fight for. Still others come home to live out their lives and teach the next generation. It's how we keep from becoming obsolete, from secluding ourselves so far from the world that we can no longer survive.
I have no idea where to go or what to do, though, in all honesty. I was told about the Hotel from a friend of my mother's as I left our home. They said I could do some good by freeing a slave, and perhaps gain a traveling companion. A sort of guide, and a bodyguard. Apparently females are more vulnerable in this society? They told me my appearance might be cause for alarm for some as well and I shouldn't go very many places alone. So I got directions and traveled there first, hoping to find someone to suit my needs. And maybe a friend.
