[[ OOC: I don't know if you've ever battled before, but generally, you just post your stats and everything like I have, and both people roll a 1, 100 sided die in order to determine who attacks first. After that's determined, you start the RP and then the battle can commence once the characters have decided to do so. :3

But for this, I'm going to let you go first, no matter what the die says, because Kavanna is a good teacher...or so she thinks she will be. 8P ]]

Junjie wasn't quite sure how he'd gotten himself swept up into this whole training thing. One moment he was having an uphill time with the Peisio Dragons and then he was here, facing off with another of his clan... though if nothing else at least it wasn't a real battle, right? This woman didn't seem to be wanting to fight it out with him because of what he was, she didn't seem racist as many did toward those with mixed blood, and if anything she seemed eager to... teach? He had to admit it was different, to be trained by someone that wasn't the Dovaa Sage. It was something he felt he could benefit from though, having more then one teacher would be good for him. Not to mention that Toki had suggested he meet with other battlers to get a better idea how to train his Drakein. So really it would work out all around even if Abellio seemed more then a little miffed over the idea of someone wanting to pick a fight with him. Luckily though the Keinova had agreed to wait on the side lines with Arjan and behave himself.

Clutching his dragon headed staff he looked away from the dragons and over at the woman in front of him, "Ahhh... alright... how to begin." He murmured to himself, glancing over at his self proclaimed teacher for an idea. There was only ever one time that he had fought before and that had only been due to the extreme circumstances, otherwise he found fighting anything but dragons to be a bit appalling. He was a healer, not a fighter, and he had no desire to fight... but again he reminded himself this wasn't a real battle, it was training, he needed training, it would help him out. It was something he had to tell himself over and over again so that he wouldn't end up filled with the desire to retreat before things had even started. No matter how it ended he would still be in one piece after all. Another good thing to remind himself, that this woman wasn't after his head due to what he was. So long as he kept all of those things in mind he should be able to do this.

"Shouldn't you concentrate on the battle instead of all of that?" Arjan asked through their bond in a rather bored sounding tone. He'd rather be doing anything but sitting still so he figured perhaps some help was in order? His bonded seemed to be far too mixed up at the moment which wasn't helping anything at all. The words made Junjie flush a bit before his hands tightened more around his weapon, yeah... maybe he was right. Concentrate on the battle instead of everything else that was raising through his head at the moment he told himself. Otherwise he might end up confused or overwhelmed before he'd even started.

[[ OOC: Okay, so how you set up your post is something similar to this, more or less. You don't need anything more than your LP, ENG, and the bottom quote with attack and all. I'll make it easy and use her shield this round, so you don't get attacked with anything but your own attack. I always keep this post open in a different tab while I'm doing a battle for easy reference. I also always take away ENG/LP at the beginning of the next post. So any energy I use this turn won't be subtracted until my next post. If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask me; I'm here to train OOC just as Kav is IC. Some spells don't require a roll whatsoever -- like my Spell Tome and Healing Spells. Unless stated otherwise, they're all instant success. ;D

Sorry it's such a short post. @ n @ ]]

"Lufunay Maau!" the Dovaa called out. Suddenly the honeycomb-like shield covered her like a shell. She stood there tall and proud as she watched her student as he looked rather nervous to be doing the battle.

"Alright, lets begin the training. After we practice some offensive moves, we will practice some healing moves, alright?" she said from across the way. She took a deep breath and began to wait for the boy to begin his offense.

Offense first and then healing, at least he was better at the second thing he thought to himself as he lifted his weapon up, gathering power to himself. It was going to have to be Ysali based magic that he know, he'd tried some of his Aeduan spells against the Peisio and that had gone rather... badly. He wasn't sure why, something about the Blood Moon a sailor had told him, but what that meant was beyond him. All he knew was his Light based spells had gone a bit wonky on him, tending to sputter out more often then they actually did something. Ysali it was then he thought to himself, green power wrapping around him as he concentrated more and more, "Ahhh... alright..." Now what. Now he just fired it at her and hoped for the best? Eesh, this was so nerve wracking! What if something went wrong and he accidentally hurt someone? He supposed that was likely what the healing lesson afterwards was for he thought to himself.

"Attack Jun!" Arjan cheered at the Hybrid, causing his spell to go off, flying toward his teacher... only to bounce off that strange shell that she had cast around herself and it came flying back at him, crashed into him, and sent the boy flying. Junjie landed in a heap on the ground, swearing that he could see little miniature dragons flying around his head.

Abellio let out a cry of surprise, racing over toward his fallen friend while Arjan just burst into laughter, as though it were the funniest thing he'd ever seen. It wasn't as though he wasn't concerned but he knew that his bonded was fine. As such he was more then allowed to laugh, he'd leave the mothering to Abellio.

Kavanna quickly gasped and ran over to the side of her student. Obviously, he had taken himself out with his own spell due to her reflection shield. She quickly cast a Healing Touch upon him, touching his head and using the plant energy within herself to transfer to the Hybrid.

"A-are you alright!? Here, let me help you up." she said, dusting the boy off a bit, hoping he could even respond. The fact that the Bonded was laughing and mocking him, she felt was not all that kind.

"I would surely hope you would expect to be treated the same had that happened to you, Drakein. It isn't right of you to mock the boy. Obviously he has shown great potential. He would have wounded me quite badly had I not used my shield. Now at least you understand the main points of battle. As I always say. A good defense, is a great offense, and in this case, it rings true. We will have to teach you that spell one day. -- Now, show me your best healing spell." she said, backing up and smiling at the Hybrid.

Junjie's eyes opened slowly at the first healing spell and he found himself getting nuzzled on by Abellio who seemed to be quite concerned and was battling at Junjie through their bond about how he was 'so worried' and 'was he alright' and 'should he bite the woman' and various other questions. The hybrid couldn't help but to give a soft laugh, lifting a hand up to stroke his soft feathers, "Shhh, it's alright Abellio. No need to worry or bite, I am alright." Alright, not exactly, he felt utterly spent, as though he'd been run over by a pack of Firani, but he felt as though he would be alright with rest and a few good healing spells. He turned to look over at the woman who was scolding Arjan and he shook his head, "It's alright, he just isn't as cuddly as Abellio is all." He said in a quiet tone, ever protective of his Drakein even if Arjan was a bit of a brat.

Arjan made a face at the woman before trotting over, the Keindred sitting next to Junjie, inspecting him a moment, then found himself wondering if maybe they should put him on Abellio's back and have the fluffy Ysali fly the boy home. Junjie's mother was a doctor after all, surely she could patch him up in a snap, right? It was a thought that had Junjie reaching out to pet Arjan as well before he sat up with much effort, wanting to do as his teacher was telling him to do, "Healing spell... yes, what is my best one..." He mused to himself, thinking on it for a moment, then nodded his head, "Ahhh... normally I would use one of my Light spells, it's one good for healing over time but... lately those spells have been a bit wonky." He explained, flushing a bit.

Instead he concentrated, casting the same sort of spell that she had cast upon himself, a Ysali based healing spell, one that wasn't as powerful as the Aeduan spell but it would have to work since the Light based spells were out of whack due to the 'Blood Moon' or so he was told. He could only hope that was true because it meant it would war off once the Blood Moon was over with and he would regain his ability to use those spells right.

13.5(40/27) = 20 x 3 (Blood Moon Event) = 40

40 (from this battle) + 3 (left over from last battle) = 32/32 with 11 left over

Kavanna watched as the Hybrid stood. She was glad to see he was alright, and the protective Drakein companions were definitely a plus for the boy.

"I'm glad to see you're doing alright, Junjie. I'm also glad that you've come to see how strong you really can be. That was all your power, dear." the Dovaa said with a smile upon her face. She had always realized that a Hybrid's strength doubled in numbers to a purebred simply because of the mixing of two strong races into one with the potential for absolute greatness.

Kavanna nodded as he began to explain the weakness of Light spells. "Yes, I understand that. The Blood Moon is a great enemy to those of the Light. It gives me the shivers just thinking about how it's up there, giving everyone a powerful lust for blood and darkness. I plan to take a trip to Lake Koralifel one of these days. Legend has said that the mysterious dark properties of the lake sucks the lust right out of your system if you visit it during the months of Blood Moon." she began.

"Though, of course, that is only a myth." she said with a slight smirk. "But definitely worth a shot." she concluded.

She then shook her head quickly, bringing herself back down from her speech about the dark moon and all that mythology. She then cast, yet another, Healing Touch spell upon the Hybrid. She was glad to see he was doing better now, or at least so she had hoped.

"Alright, now, you seem quite capable of healing, with your arsenal of healing abilities. Being a hybrid of both Ysali and an Orderite Mage, you have the power to heal near-death wounds. You are a lucky, boy, Junjie. I know life will be rough for you out there, trust me. I have seen the full force of the Order as well as the Celestial Plane's wrath. But you have a gift. So promise me you will never give that up." the Dovaa said with a kind, warm smile as her arms dangled in front of her, waiting for the boy to respond.

Junjie looked over at the other Ysali before he gave a bit of a smile, "Thank you for your kind words." While he was glad in a sense to hear that he had such power he really didn't want to use it for fighting. If he could instead focus on things that he cared more about, healing for instance, he would gladly do that. He wanted to be more like his mother the healer then his father the warrior, the latter of which he'd never had the chance to meet. Still, even if he didn't want to be a warrior it was still important that he try to hone such skills. There was always the chance that someone else would need his help just as Rio had in the past. He wanted to be ready the next time someone was in trouble and needed aid from him. If it involved a friend that would likely be the only way that he would really raise his hand against another person.

Sitting forward some Junjie concentrated on listening to what Kavanna was saying as he summoned up more of his power to work on healing himself further, "I will be glad when the Blood Moon is no longer glaring down upon us, it's leaving me weakened in a way I don't care for." He murmured, flexing his hands a bit, starring down at them. His Aeduan spells were quite useful, he had one that was good for blinding a target temporarily and allowed for quick escapes if the need arose. It was something he really didn't like being without. Having a sure fire way to cover a retreat was useful for someone like him. Turning to look over at the woman as she spoke of the myth of Lake Koralifel and it's ties to the Blood Moon he couldn't help but to be interested, "Is that so?" A lake that could suck the lust out of someone's system. It was a strange as it was interesting, not to mention it sounded as though such a thing could be useful for centering a person and removing unneeded emotions, "I may have to visit that place. Where do I find Lake Koralifel?" He asked in a curious manner. Even if it was a myth there had to be some truth to it, that was how such stories were born before becoming greatly exaggerated.

When the conversation was turned back to him he flushed a little, lifting a hand to scratch at the back of his head, "Ahhh... don't worry... I don't plan to abandon my path a second time. I know after what happened in Eowyn that my beliefs were shaken but it was, perhaps, a good lesson for me to learn." That not everyone could be trusted just because they were labeled as heroes. One had to look passed silly titles to see what a person was really like and to see if they were worthy of ones admiration. As it stood he'd much rather stay amongst his own kind these day. It was a big part of why he was traveling, to meet up with the other hybrids he'd met in the past. Giving a smile he said, "If push comes to shove I have that silly medal they threw at everyone to shut them up at that farce of a ceremony, it should help me in a pinch." He said, getting some help from his Keinova to get to his feet. He felt very little love for those at the ceremony and didn't really want to use the medal unless he really had to. Still, it would be a useful tool if he found himself cornered... though maybe with a few more lessons he would be able to save himself with his own two hands instead of relying on the medal.

Giving a smile he shoved away such thoughts, "Ahh... do forgive me, that day isn't one that I care to remember. It tends to always sour my mood." He said, not wanting to foist his problems upon this woman. She was kind enough to train him after all and that was all that he could ask of her.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 15, 2013 9:19 am

Kavanna gave a warm smile and nod to the boy who had just thanked her. She continued to listen as he went on and his interest was peaked in the lake's myth. "Yes, Lake Koralifel located on the continent of Soudul. I visited it when I was young and a young Oblivionite went into the lake and felt it's power. It's an evil power, I believe. The lake has so many myths surrounding it, it's hard to tell what is true and what isn't. But it's a large, dark lake. Quite hard to miss." she concluded.

Then the boy began to speak upon his time during the Eowyn battle a few months prior. Her face went downcast and she began to listen. "Oh, no need to apologize. If you want to talk, I'm always here to listen. I heard about the battle on Eowyn, news carried quickly. So you were apart of it? One of the heroic Hybrids that gained the medal of honor. Congratulations, that's an amazing feat. But why are you so saddened by it? You should be proud of yourself and your fellow hybrids who saved Eowyn from that monster." she said, looking at the boy. She didn't mean to bring it up necessarily, but she now wished to discuss it further, as she hadn't ever heard about it from someone who was actually there to witness the happenings. It was all word of mouth to her and thus, the story she had obtained was probably not as accurate as one that could be told by this Hybrid here. She patiently waited for his response in hopes that he would want to talk about it.

"Souldul? Interesting. I've only ever been there once myself and it was a while back." He'd always wanted to return to the dark lands of Souldul. Maybe if he did he would meet with his hybrid friend from there? Of course if Souldul was as big as the other places he'd been in his life the odds might not be good of finding him but he could always try. Giving a smile he said, "It does sound like an interesting place, I will look for it once I head to Souldul again." While he knew the dangers of the place better now, he was half Orderite after all and he doubted the Oblivionites would be too pleased with his presence, he still wanted to go again. A dangerous sort of pilgrimage but he'd done sillier things he supposed before he leaned against Abellio, working on casting another healing spell upon himself. It would likely leave him feeling a bit drained and in need of a nap but he'd like to get himself healed up from the little training session as soon as possible.

Glancing for a moment over at Kavanna he gave a soft sigh, "There was nothing heroic about it. I only went because the one called Alpha took my friend away right out from under me. I should have been able to do something for her then instead of allowing her to be taken in the first place." It was one of those things he still couldn't forgive himself for. Had he focused on the enemy, not been distracted by the wounded woman, had he moved faster, maybe Rio wouldn't have been dragged off in such manner. Shaking his head he continued, "I feel the whole medal ceremony was a farce, a way to glaze over the fact that the others in that awful lab, the creatures and people there who needed saved, were merely done away with instead. The lab was destroyed, everything filled in, and nothing was left behind by a graveyard full of sad, unmarked graves."

Junjie shook his head, "There was a moment when I visited that place that I felt myself filled with despair and hopelessness. Those people in there must have been looking for help, someone to save them the way that we went to save Rio..." He shook his head once more, trying to clear such thoughts away, not wanting to linger on that, "I find myself lucky though, the day when I was at my lowest point I believe that Seren herself dragged me back from the brink. I feel she was the one that led me life within the graveyard, giving me hope." He said, glancing over at Arjan who gave a purring sound. He'd found Arjan's egg there, all alone in the graveyard, in need of Junjie to look after it. It had helped him in a way he could never explain, having healed him, helped to push him forward. Sure, he was maybe a little more jaded then he'd been in the past but at least he still retained his desire to help others to the best of his ability, he'd just lost his hero worship of Marcus was all.
PostPosted: Wed Oct 16, 2013 10:18 am

"Yes, Soudul is a dark and dreary place, however. I plan to visit it myself in the coming weeks, but I do hate going there. Serenia is my home, more so than even the Celestial Plane. Soudul is the exact opposite of home. It's not a place I like to visit often, if at all, but I do believe that it would be good to see if the rumors of the Blood Moon and Lake Koralifel come together. Hopefully it works." she said, then began to cast yet another healing spell on the hybrid to help his healing process along a bit more than him doing so all alone.

The Dovaa began to listen to the Hybrid's words, taking in every word. The name...Rio...that seemed rather familiar. She couldn't place it, but she knew she had heard her name before. That was the girl that was kidnapped. She continued to listen and it seemed as though Junjie blamed himself for her misfortune. Kavanna gave a look of concern and shook her head. "I am sure that she doesn't blame you at all. You did the best you could in that situation...it's over now and you really shouldn't blame yourself whatsoever."

"I'm glad Seren was able to help you pull through. I know the gods are there, I just know they are, whether their going to help this world they created thrive or not is my only fear. But hope is all we have today. A hope for a better tomorrow." she said, looking at the boy. She was quite pleased that he was so wise for his young age.

The entire conversation, in the back of the Ysali's mind, was that name. Rio. She knew that she had heard it before...but where? Finally, it all clicked. "Rio...RIO!? Erionda!? She was the one kidnapped!? That's...crazy...isn't that Kilian's girlfriend? The Hybrid, right? Orderite and Dovaa as well? Oh my...Kilian...i-is he okay!?" was all she spurted out, more concerned than ever before. Why the hell didn't she make this connection before? She needed to find Kilian...her friend...but first she figured that she should make sure she was all correct in her thinking before getting ahead of herself. "I-is it true, though? Was it Erionda who was kidnapped?" she pleaded with the boy. No wonder the name Rio sounded so familiar. She hadn't ever met the girl, but she was close enough with Kilian to know that he had a crush on an "Erionda" whom he called "Rio". Everything clicked in that instant. One new goal was to find Kilian and figure out if everything was okay.

Junjie listened closely to what his teacher was saying about Souldul, taking note of it, wanting to learn what he could about the place before he went there again. He had the feeling that going there when he was little, even at the behest of Arick, had likely been a foolish thing to do. It would have been best if he were to go there when he was far more experienced given what he was. As one with Orderite blood he could very well be seen as an enemy or an invader, which was the last thing that he really wanted. He didn't really want to be anyone's enemy but it was hard to be completely neutral even if he tried his best to be just that.

"I am sure that she doesn't blame me but it doesn't stop me from blaming myself." He murmured, he could only be glad for the fact that Rio wasn't angry at him for what had happened. If anything she was still a good friend to him, something that meant the world to him. Those he did have as friends he would much prefer to keep that way, especially amongst the other hybrids. Due to how many people in the world that hated him he felt that they really should stick together. Giving a smile he said, "It is as you say, I am lucky she was there to give me such hope." He murmured, certain that without the intervention of Seren that he might still very well be lost at this time instead of training with such a kind teacher.

Junjie gave a little jump when it seemed that Kavanna suddenly realized who 'Rio' was and he found himself nodding his head as she asked if Erionda was the one that had been taken, "Ahhh, yes, sorry, Erionda. I got in the habit of calling her Rio." He said, not having meant to mix his teacher up when it came to who it was that he was talking about, "Ahhh... Killian? Heh, yeah I think that he is alright. He was last I saw him, he was amongst those that went to save Rio in fact. We don't exactly see eye to eye but at least we were able to work together as far as saving Rio was concerned." He explained, glad that the two of them had been able to see to it that she was alright. He supposed that it would be childish of him to fight with Junjie though given the matters at hand though and maybe it would means that they would be able to actually get along next they met. At least he sure hoped so.

He nodded again, "She was, yes, but we got their in time, Gods be praised, and we were able to get her out before anyone thought about clearing out what else was held there." He said, glad for that. At least she was safe.

Kavanna understood the Hybrid's words all too well. Just because one didn't blame, didn't stop the blame cast upon by the self. She gave a crooked smile and nodded in agreement.

"Then we must learn to forgive ourselves. I have been in the same predicament many a time. I know how it feels to have the blame cast by others, but also the blame that I have cast on myself. It's a sticky situation when you blame yourself for things you couldn't otherwise control. So, lets just look at the bright side; shall we? The guilt will not go away instantly, that much I know is true. But, knowing that she is alright and unharmed is the greatest news. So we mustn't dwell on the past, but instead, rise above and move on. That's what you need to do now." the Dovaa stated, moving closer to the boy and setting her hands down on his shoulders.

Kavanna gave a sigh of relief when all was said and done, knowing that Kilian and Erionda were alright was the most important thing. That just meant that she needed to take some time out to find them and spend some time with her friend. She let her hands drop to her sides from the boys shoulders and turned around and began to walk a few paces away, looking out at the sun as it then began to set.

"It's been a long day." the Dovaa mused with a smile. The day was coming to an end but she was extremely happy she was able to help out her very first student.

Rise above and move on, it was sound advice and the sort that he should take to heart Junjie thought to himself, giving the Dovaa woman a smile and a nod, "I will try to do just that." It would take time, that he was certain, but he would still do his best to move forward. In freeing himself from his guilt he might be able to continue along the path that he had set out in front of himself he decided. Junjie lifted one hand to pat Abellio on the head, moving to do the same for Arjan, before he leaned against the bigger of the two Drakein, "A long day? I agree." He was a bit tired, he was certain at this point that a bit of rest would do him some good.

"I think that a nap is in order after all that." Sure the battle had been a rather swift and one sided one but the after math of it, casting so many healing spells upon himself added to getting floored by his own magic, had left the boy quite exhausted, best that he and his Drakein head out and see about getting some rest somewhere nice, comfortable, warm, and safe. While he would much rather continue onward on his search for his missing friend he knew he would need to rest first. It would only slow him down a touch and since he was currently without a lead he doubted it would drag him down too terribly much... at least he sure hoped not. With his luck he would take a nap only to wake to the news that Tila had been spotted nearby before vanishing once more.

Such thoughts were pushed aside so he could focus on his teacher once more, "Thank you for all of your help and guidance today." He said, glad for the help, certain he would come to her again for lessons in the future if she would have him. He could only hope that next time was a touch less embarrassing on his part.
