o matter which way you look, everything is bathed in a soft blue light.
It is calming, in its own way: the wisps that float by slowly, the paper lanterns strung above, the carved pumpkins strewn around the booth; it seems almost like a dream. It is unsurprising that someone greets you from behind the counter of the Ghost booth. They have, helpfully, taped a map of the area to the wall in case you need help finding your way around.
Depending on the time of day, and the day of the week, different activities will be hosted at the Ghost Booth. There is a board with hand-written activities indicating what will take place here in the next few days:
Right beside the booth there is a large extension of its salvaged wood on which rest many different items for creating your own paper lanterns. It seems like someone there will assist you at any time, if you want to craft one.
Apart from that, you can, at any time, collect any number of ghost-branded items: spookies and premade lanterns are a couple of the items available. All in all, it is not a very flashy booth, but it is approachable and promises a good time. It seems like the ghost students are focusing on the individuality of each of their talents, and want to use the booth as a way to showcase all of their interests, skills and specialties at different times.

In their words... They often hide in the background, unknown and unheard, unless they want to make an appearance. Ghosts often can't make up their minds: they carry ideas, themes, a grudge, a concept, and they may follow it through until something else interests them. Unlike undead, ghosts don't want to make a big deal of things. They want to be kind, fair and ultimately work towards their goal in a way that doesn't harm others, unless you slight them first.
In our words... We are proud of who we are and where we came from, many of us have to struggle and earn our identity. Each entity you come across in our dorms are unique in their own way. Some are a young spirits to a single element, others might embody something more fearful than they might even realize or know. The possibilities of our kind are endless and we revel in our versatility.
About our dorms... Within our humble dorms we have a little over sixty ghost students who live here. Each one of us has our own goal, or things we desire to learn from the academy that has lured us here. We all have different pasts (or no pasts at all). We try to respect each other's personal space and boundaries but there are mischievous spirits amongst us that sometimes want to shake up things within the halls. Some of us attempt to keep everything as tidy as we can, but sometimes it is beyond or own control. It is not unusual for us to have visitors about and we welcome them happily so long as they do not do anything to raise our ire.
Allow us to enlighten you... Allow us to wrap up our little introduction of our dorm and the residents therein with a few quick facts about our species. We ghosts are able to become transparent to differing degrees, but not all of us can move through objects. This is why our building often has doors or other ways to get in, some of us do enjoy having visitors over.
Even though a lot of us are true ghosts there are those of us that are elemental spirits or other kind of spirit-kin. These types of entities have ties to raw energies and powers.
There are some denizens of Halloween that afflicted with a phobia of us ghosts, it is called phasmaphobia. Those who are struck with this affliction are met with a sense of satisfaction or confusion depending on the ghost in question.
Ectoplasm is not excreted by all ghosts, but those of us who do find that the consistency can differ from being gelatinous, vaporous, thin and thread-like, or sometimes even take form of light fabric.
Some of us ghosts can be rather territorial of objects or locations as well. We ask that you treat our surroundings with great respect as we would do the same for you.
Our spirited display... House Colors: Blue and White Mascot: Ghostly Wisp Motto: Libertas in Obitum
Do you know that the ghostly light of a wisp is often meant to lead others astray? Of course you do! You seem like a bright individual-- get it? a bright individual? But something about having a paper lantern around is just appealing in the twilight of Amityville campus, so why not partake?
Beside the Ghost Booth is a table covered in supplies for making your own paper lantern. All you have to do is purchase time and supplies at the craft table to make one. Not feeling particularly crafty? No problem, you can just buy a Ghost Mascot lantern from whoever is staffing the booth at the time.
[[OOC Download the Lantern .PSD-- you can change the pattern to your heart's content, but there are a few rules to adhere to! Please do not use the lantern for anything outside of This is Halloween; do not take one OOCly if you did not bring your character here to purchase one ICly; please do not edit the base or the charms of the lantern. Resize it to 25%, host and drop off your finished lantern with some RP text about your character making it, quote 2Spooky4UAll and you will be entered into a custom lantern raffle: winning in the raffle will allow you a custom charm, and maybe even an entirely custom lantern...!
Just behind the booth the ghost dorm had set up there seemed to be an obstacle course of sorts. It almost looked far too easy by appearance, but things were never as they seemed. From time to time there seemed to be a boil or ghoul ghost attending to a strange box at the start of the obstacle course as if making sure the contents were safe inside.
It is easy enough to get the attention of one of the ghosts and receive a deceptively innocent looking bottle...
With the permission of the school, a special potion has been brewed. Those that consume the potion will temporarily gain the abilities of a ghost. However, the effects are only temporary and will only last a short while. Hopefully long enough for you to be able to complete the course. This course may be run once a day.
Each obstacle has its own dice rules. However for each roll the first die will determine if you pass the obstacle, while the second will determine the amount of time it takes you to pass. Remember to keep track of your time in each post, by adding up the second dice for each roll.
ex: Player rolls 2d10 and gets a 5 and a 8. 8 is the amount of time that has passed in attempting the obstacle. Player subtracts 8 from the 40 minutes and then adds it to their total time for running the course.
Best time over all will get a prize!
If you fail to pass a round, simply keep re-rolling until you pass, or until you run out of time.
If you arrive at the final obstacle and PASS it, but run out of time while doing so, it counts as a win. If you fail, its game over.
The Potion The effects of the potion only lasts a short amount of time. Your second die will determine how much time you've used up for your potion. If you fail to pass the course before the effects of potion runs out, you fail the course. But don't worry, you can always try again tomorrow.
Time Limit: 40
1st Obstacle - The Wall
Phasing through a wall. Easy right? Wrong! Not all ghosts are capable of phasing through solid objects. In fact, for you, especially you temp ghosts, it will take a lot of effort and concentration for you to pass through this obstacle.
( Roll two 10-sided die - Pass: 4-10 / Fail: 1-3 )
2nd Obstacle - The Overpass
Your next task is the overpass. To overcome this you will need 'levitate' a short distance over a length of the course below you. Climbing, flying ( use of wings ), and jumping is not permitted. You must rely on your ghostly abilities to pass over.
( Roll two 10-sided die - Pass: 6-10 / Fail: 1-5 )
3rd Obstacle - Attack on Meatloaf
This will be, by far, the most dangerous task for you. Armed with last weeks meatloaf, the students of the ghost dorm are informed to attack you on sight. To get past them, you will have to rely on your ability to go gho--to go invisible and pass by them undetected. However, because 100% invisibility is not a skill every ghost can master, it will require a lot of concentration and skill. Especially when passing by other ghosts.
( Roll two 10-sided die - Pass: 7-10 / Fail: 1-6 )
However! If you are discovered, you still have a chance at passing through this part of the course. But you must do so by turning intangible to evade the 'lethal' meatloaf bombs. However if you still fail to pass, you will have to retry the obstacle with your invisibility.
( Roll one 6-sided die - Even: Pass / Odd: Fail )
4th Obstacle - The Murky Pond
Beneath the murky waters of the fourth obstacle are five flags. To find them you must rely on your ghostly luminosity to locate them and pass to the opposite side. Without a bright glow, finding them will be next to impossible.
( Roll two 10-sided die - Pass: 6-10 / Fail: 1-5 )
5th Obstacle - The Glitter-Glue Pit
Pits of specially made glitter-glue has been added as the final obstacle in the course. To overcome this obstacle, you must, once again, use your ability to levitate across. If you fail to pass over, it will mean a sparkly coating for you. Or at least until you scrub it all off.
( Roll two 10-sided die - Pass: 4-10 / Fail: 1-3 )
One would believe that ghosts don't eat, but they do a little bit. Much like any denizen of Halloween a ghost has their own eating habit or desire. Some ghosts eat a lot and some ghosts eat very little, but they are gracious hosts for the most part - at least for this little public affair. There are Ghost Dorm residents that will serve drinks and food to other visitors that ask politely. Some Ghost Dorm residents might even make special order coffees!
For the most part it is a simple but tasty arrangement. Students are free to take and enjoy whatever they wish with no strings attached, at least for now...
Long sheets of fabric billow in the breeze where they hang next to the booth. Most are blue and white, representative of the Ghost Dorms themselves, but piled behind those seem to be more in a variety of color combinations.
A young, round whale boil is standing nearby and points enthusiastically at anyone who comes too close. "You! Yes, you! Don't you want to win the house cup for your dorm? Don't you want to be amazing? There's no better way to get into the winning spirit than buying your very own superhero cape!" He spins in an excited circle, showing off his own flowing cape. "You can buy one here, or if you really impress me with your super powers, you can get one with special colors!"
Wally is selling standard Ghost Dorm capes for just a few seeds.* These all come in white and blue but are just as fun to wear and enjoy! *Seeds are IC, you do not need to collect them anywhere. Just RP your student paying Wally and recieving a cape.
Do the ghost colors just not make your ectoplasm glow? Are you looking for something a little more unique? Well Wally has a challenge for you! Set up near the booth is a strength game, and all you have to do is get a high enough score to win. Just pick up the hammer, hit the target, and pray you're strong enough to get the ringer all the way up to the bell!
Roll 1d100 and match your results below:
1-30: Did you even hit the target? The ringer barely moved at all, and Wally doesn't seem impressed. He hands you a Ghost Marshmellow as a consolation prize, but he seems reluctant to even part with that. 31-60: Your strength is pretty average, but average isn't enough to impress our resident ghost whale. Wally gives you a Ghostcake and a pitying smile. Hey, at least the cake is delicious. 61-90: Whoa! Your strength is pretty super! Wally bounces excitedly, truly impressed, and offers you a more colorful cape. Please edit your post with two colors (give me specific colors, if you'd like) and quote DarkHeartedSorrow 91-100: The ringer goes all the way up and hits the bell with a loud clang. Gee whiz! You're so strong you should really consider joining the Super League! Wally is completely in awe of your power, and offers you a choice of colorful cape or a Protodrakeling Acid! Please edit your post with your choice and quote DarkHeartedSorrow. Please include either your Minis SN for your mini prize, or two colors for your cape.
pookiegrams! The best way to send a message in sugary snacks, and Ghost Dorms is facilitating it. In specific, Amarus and some of the other students have prepared two icing-smothered treats: a tombstone, and a ghost. Every day, students and guests can pay to send up to two messages with spookies. They can go to the same student (or guest), or different students (or guests). Everyone who sends at least one gram a day receives one ticket to win their own Phoenix Hatchling as a future messenger, while everyone who receives a gram sent by someone else receives one ticket. At the end of the event, one Phoenix Hatchling Hallowed as pictured below will be raffled off amongst the entrants:
[[OOC:
Grams will be sent out in-character only, delivered by a Phoenix Hatchling Dream in most likelihood. There are three ways you can make the gram: default image, which will just be either the tombstone spookie or ghost spookie pictured above; secondly, you can roll to decorate the ghost spookie according to the results (there is no rolling method for the tombstone, it is harder to customize and therefore specifically up to you) ; thirdly, you can choose to decorate the ghost or tombstone spookies however you wish, but do not edit the base! Host the image however you wish, and then fill in the form below. It is assumed your character is spending IC money only, there is no gaia gold fee for sending grams. You can only send two a day! Grams reset when the minis site does.
Roll anywhere from 2-5 d10-- the more dice you roll, the more decorations you put on, as each result corresponds to a different decoration. Some don't overlap very well, so take only the first of those rolls (i.e. bowties, if you get an orange one you can't get a red one later). The lower, the fewer. The first d10 corresponds to expression:
Expression Dice: 1. : o 2. >( 3. : ( 4. Hehe 5. : D 6 - 8: You choose, based on your character's true feelings ooo. 9- 10: You choose, whatever you want.
Decoration Dice 1. Monocle 2. Mustache 3. Bowtie - Red and White 4. Bowtie - Ghost Pride 5. Bowtie - Orange and Black 6. Chocolate Chip - 1x or 2x, you choose! 7. Rainbow Sprinkles 8. Black Sprinkles 9. Orange Sprinkles. 10. Your choice!
Copy any paste everything below, including the code tags! To drop off a form, just post it in the ghost dormitories' thread. Edit the image tags with the image of the spookie you have crafted, or leave it as the default ghost spookie if you want. DO NOT FORGET to edit into the quote who it is from ICly and who it is to ICly!

HI! MY NAME IS: REESEstands behind a small tray. Three upside down SOUL-O cups sit in front of her, and with a deadly serious expression she lifts one cup to reveal a cute little boo-ball leering out from under it. Lowering the cup back down, she solemnly points to the games rules before smoothly sliding and lifting the cups, moving the ball between the rapidly.

Roll 2d8! OR Generate a number between 1-16 because reasons If even, you guess incorrectly. Reese looks at you with pity, and seems worried. The air grows a little heavy. If odd, you guess correctly! Reese nods at you with pleased satisfaction, and hands you the ball that was under the cup. You can try as many times as you like! Prizes: your roll coordinates with which boo-ball you've won!

What is this? Randomly there seems to be a minipet or some other prize stuck to a random booball. Maybe it is that these booballs are extremely lucky or perhaps someone naughty went and added the extra prize in while others paid no real attention to them.
Once a day visitors may roll 1d100. You might win a minipet, a item from the minis site, or perhaps some art! Please remember to include your minis SN, just in case. <3
