It had been a long time since he’d seen her, part of him wondered if she had died, one of the many casualties the city had claimed. Odd to think of it, it almost seemed to slip his mind how many people had died, killed not just by their side, but also by both sides. Accidents happened mind you, there was no good or accurate number of the deaths, not when some of them even –seemed- natural, or nearly so. The number of people whom had died when that strange alternate court had dragged the city into dreams, Elysion, people could easily have died there too and he’d never be sure. Youma attacks, the earliest history that made them –need- to kill people.

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair staring out over the city.

The last time he’d been on this rooftop had been the first time she’d seen him in this uniform. He’d told her she would have made a good princess; strangely he had meant it too. He thought that of one other only, one other would earn a respectful nod if they earned more power, even if he did feel that the power should –cost- them more somehow. It didn’t feel like they had earned it knowing that it never caused them pain to grow.

He reached a hand to touch lightly on the thick fabric of his mask, he hadn’t always had it, once she’d been able to kiss him, and it had truly made her source of power into a sharp reality. Things that were close seemed far away and vise versa. Hard to deal with, harder to try and work around.

She was probably a statistic.

“What a shame” he murmured into the cool evening. It would have been lovely to try and woo her again; she’d have made a fine officer.

He hesitated then, feeling the energy of an order senshi prickling across his skin.

It was true in some way that Sailor Perseus had disappeared and became a 'casualty' of the war that had sprung up between good and evil, but in a very different way than most. Instead of finding her end in a dark alley of Destiny City, Perseus had chosen self exile from the city and war, locking up her henshin pen and fleeing the country to find greener pastures. And she had, for a while, but the nagging feeling of missing a whole part of herself was too much to handle in the end. And that is what found Eternal Sailor Perseus wandering the streets of Destiny City without much of a purpose.

She hadn't met anyone as of yet, on either side, when her sixth sense for powered characters kicked in. Chaos, and a fairly strong signature at that. Skidding to a stop on the rooftop nearby, she looked around briefly for the direction of the source and upon seeing a dark figure took the opposite one. Perseus was out of real shape and using muscles she hadn't in a whole year- an encounter of that level might be too much to handle for her. The scout knew there was a chance of being pursued, but had to hope that it was someone who felt particularly lazy that evening.

It was just her luck to run into a nega when all she really wanted was to find a cat or senshi who could fill her in on everything that had happened.

The figure vanished, there one moment and then the next, it…no, he was feet away from her.

“It’s been a long time.” The voice at least was familiar, though weather or not it would take away any of the ominous sensation that his chaotic aura would give was another story. They had a history, though it was not entirely peaceful either.

“I had just been thinking about you, I wondered if you weren’t a casualty of the war. I wonder where you have been.”

It was more a statement of his thoughts than a question to her as though he perhaps did not expect an honest answer.

“Surely not inside the city, I think you’re too well minded of order to have resisted joining the fight had you been here.”

Perseus felt the teleportation more than she saw it, the blink and sudden reappearance of a chaotic aura was more than enough to confirm. The senshi skidded to a stop on a gravel covered rooftop and turned to face whomever she'd been spotted by. She was not expecting what she saw and heard, however. "Zinkenite." It was soft, almost lost on the wind. Perseus expected to see the Negaverser at some point during her return, but hadn't been expecting it so soon. The girl turned slowly to face the face of someone she had known a long time. How their paths had divulged.

"No. I've been gone for a while now." She broke eye contact with him to look out over the city. Typically she wouldn't be so careless, but there had always been an understanding between them. If one of them was going to win over the other, it was going to be a fair fight. There was no other way. "But I couldn't escape who I am."

Perseus turned her eyes back, locking them on Zinkenite. "You look... well. Taller?" She smiled wryly.
