Jerry stood on the beach, not foraging for soap and things this time, although it was tempting to abandon this 'mission' and just do that.
He stared at the waves, picking at his swim suit.
Maybe he should have called for company just in case...
No. Rep had tried very had to teach him to swim, and he was trying very hard to learn. It was time to put the other Sun's lessons to the test.
He could do this.

Jerry held his breath, gathered his gumption, and dove in. The water was icy, even with the sun beating down on it to warm it up, but after the initial shock, he held his breath and concentrated on swimming against the waves.
At least he was good at sinking- unfortunately, something moved amongst the waves... A massive fin slipped by him. With a yelp, he tried to swim faster...
1: a massive sea creature attacks you. Roll 1d20 to escape its gaping maw. If you roll 10+ you escape it, if you roll below you receive 10 damage and need to try again.

A massive set of teeth loomed behind him as he scrambled, forgetting his lessons for a moment as panic set in and the jaws clamped down on one of his legs. He screamed, a series of bubbles rising up from his own mouth as he struggled...

Jerry frantically remembered to use his breathing apparatus, gulping in air until he cleared his head and kicked- the creature let go, allowing him to struggle down deeper.
Alright, with a breathing thinger, this was way easier.
He could do this!

He kept swimming frantically, but no sooner had he escaped the next one, another shape flitted through the ocean behind him. With an under water yelp, he felt it's razory teeth slash into his arm...
3: a small-sized sea creature attack you. It has 15 HP and 3 auto damage. You can escape it by rolling 1d20 and getting 15+, failure results in auto damage.

Somehow, he just managed to flail and kick fast enough to scoot away from the thing. He was not a fan of fish, he decided. But he was desperate for runestones.
He tried to force his breathing into a more regular pace- his air had to last him, and he still had a bit to go...

Snarling, Jerry floated this way this way and that, trying to get free of whatever had grabbed him, bubbles rising as he gave an enraged howl...
Only to realize it was just seaweed.
It did burn at his ankle, anyway. He kicked it free and went back to work.

Once again he struggled, which just got things MORE tangled, which made him panic even more and struggle more until the damn thing was immobilizing his ankles...

I really hate swimming, Jerry thought to himself, at least in the ocean. Where the heck was all this seaweed coming from anyway?
