It was late afternoon upon a lovely Saturday when Marcus' father, Damien, decided that it was time for a trip to the shops while his fiancee, Alabaster, took a rest. Marcus, being ever helpful, had decided to swipe every usable bag in the forest abode for his father to use while shopping, only to be disappointed when he was told he only needed five out of the thirty he had taken away. Darn, what a waste of energy!
After some meandering and trinket perusing, Marcus skipped away from his father in order to get a better look at a Magic Shop window. Some of the shinies there were so pretty!
"Daddy! Look at that bracelet!" He chirped, turning. Oh, his father had gone into the supermarket? Okay! "Make sure to get the eggs, daddy wants eggs!" He mused, even if Damien couldn't hear him.
Well, now that he was alone, was he allowed to go in the shop? He fidgeted and shook his head. No, he needed a buddy, someone who would make sure he was safe while he visited the shop. But... Who could he ask? He glanced about and sighed. Ugh... He would have to wait for Damien, wouldn't he...?

Midori looked at the list of ingredients that he had in hand, reading it over closely, then looked at the brightly colored dragon that was perched on his shoulder, "Looks simple enough and with these ingredients we will make the most amazing cupcakes ever!" He said in such a way that it seemed as though he were concocting some sort of nefarious scheme... but that was just how the witch boy spoke. As the they got closer to the ground the brightly colored boy hopped off his broom, landing gracefully, and allowed the thing to stand upright next to him, "Now, let's see..." His eyes flickered back and forth for a moment before he spotted the store he needed to go to. "That one!" He said, pointing at it and his little pet stood up on his shoulder, hissing in agreement. It was something that had him grinning before he turned and took a couple steps forward, his broom following along after him, moving in a sweeping motion, all of them seeming to leave behind a trail of green glitter before Midori seemed to freeze in place, sniffing at the air, then turned slowly to look over at the other boy that was standing there, "Hrm... if I didn't know better I would say we are in the presence of another of my kind." He said to Ladon who gave the other boy a once over then hissed in agreement once more with the witch. Midori trotted over to Marcus, giving him a once over, then sad sadly, "Mmm, not a cat, disappointing but he does still have an interesting air about him. I mean just look at those eyes!" Ladon gave a growly sound and Midori nodded, "Yeah, his tongue is something else too." He murmured before asking of the other boy in a demanding fashion, "Who are you and what are you?" Perhaps they could be friends, it wasn't as though this one was boring so he got bonus points for that even if he wasn't a cat.

Marcus' tongue flicked about as Midori was approaching him, and his expression twisted in a bitter fashion. What was that smell? It smelled sort of like... Magic? He turned his head towards the store and squinted, his tongue flicking towards the window. No, it wasn't the store... Then what was?
Suddenly, Midori was beside him. His cream colored eyes shot wide open and he took his usual defensive pose. He stood as still as possible, his tongue flicking constantly, and slowly rose from his position.
"So you're the reason why I smell magic!" He exclaimed. "Cool! You must be a Pocky Boy, too! I'm Marcus, who are you?"

Midori watched the boy as he fell back into an odd pose, looking as though he were trying to be some sort of kung fu warrior like in those B rated movies from the television. He starred a long moment, then chuckled, stepping in that much closer, "Look at that tongue! I like that! You're a snake, aren't you?" He said, lifting a hand, looking as though he might be about to reach his hand out to try to touch the other kid's flicking tongue before he gave a pause, "Eh?" The question caused the boy to chuckle a bit before he nodded his head.
"You are right in a way, I am a Pocky Boy, but it's not the reason you smell magic, it's because I am a witch in training." He chirped happily, smiling at the other boy, his eyes seeming to sparkle with delight over getting to talk about who and what he was, "Marcus, huh? My name is Midori and this little guy is Ladon, it's quite nice to meet you." Even if the guy was a snake, not a cat, he still might be useful to a witch. Excellent! He would have to keep him he thought to himself, grinning all the while.
