 Finally, a day off. Ialu had a habit of doing more working than he probably should, always wanting to make doubly sure that the herd was safe from harm. It usually translated to him patrolling the borders in the morning, going through the herd to make sure everyone was getting along peacefully and that traditions weren't being forgotten or done wrong, then going back to patrolling the border some more. Today though he decided to take a break from it, and as a result was sleeping in later than he usually would.

 She smiled as her mate slept in for once. He kept himself so busy, and he was often patrolling to make sure their herd stayed safe. She admired him for his bravery and selflessness. Part of her wanted to wake him so they might spend a little time together, but another part of her wanted to watch him sleep for a little longer. She supposed, in a way, that watching him sleep was spending time with him. So she settled for doing that for now, keeping her wings tucked against her back so as not to disturb him.

It was a good sleep that managed to set his internal clock alarm off. Ialu slowly began to wake up, first regaining consciousness from his peaceful slumber(he slept like a log that night) to wonder first how late in the day it was and if he overslept. Reminding himself today was a day for himself he elected to just lay next to his mate, enjoying her company and listening to the sounds of the world while his eyes were still closed.
Finally he decided he was ready to finally get up. He opened his eyes and yawned as his head slowly rose. The stallion looked to see his lovely mate next to him and he gave her an almost sleepy smile. "Morning love." Ialu nuzzled her affectionately. "...is it even morning?"

She chuckled softly as he woke and nuzzled him happily. "Good morning, darling," she said. A quick glance skyward made her smile. "For a few more minutes, at least," she said with a slight teasing tone to her voice. "I'm glad you've finally taken a break," she murmured. She knew why he was busy, and understood it well. "What would you like to do today?" she asked and rested her head on his shoulder.VG Cat So sorry it took me so long x.x

Ialu let his head rest against his mate while she talked, thoroughly enjoying even the most simple of pleasures as that. Plus he wasn't entirely sure he was ready to wake up, but it was almost noon-ish. He grinned a little at Kalliope's teasing and lifted his head. "Oh I'm not sure. I think I'm caught up on sleep for at least a few days now though."
It had been a long time since he and his mate were really able to enjoy each other's company. Ialu viewed this as a...not really failure, but it was certainly mostly his fault, and he wanted to make it up to her. "How about we get something to eat, go for an afternoon flight, and then have a nice relaxing swim? Just you and me, no disturbances. Unless there's something you would like to do that isn't any of those?"Strawberri Stardust It's fine, there's no hurry. Plus it gives me some time to think of things for them to do. ><; Haven't quite figured out slice of life type stuff in non-humanoid RPs.
