Surusumi landed gracefully on a low branch of the tree. She had been back many times since she'd last seen the intriguingly private black-feathered male, and still had not glimpsed him. She was a little disappointed that he was not here again, but knew that if he were interested in talking again, he would seek her out, just as she was doing. The location of the tree, rooted firmly high on a jutting cliff that overlooked the wide expanse of deep blue water was peaceful and beautiful, so the trip was never wasted. If nothing else, Surusumi used it as an excuse to enjoy the beautiful scenery from a unique vantage. She smiled, content to sit and let time pass.

Everything was silent.... calm and serene until the black male appeared, hovered then landed on the spot at the edge of this little gem of a location. By the time he was shaking his feathers out and calming his breath it was too late and he caught the yellow mare and knew there was no way after that entrance he hadn't been noticed. If he left now like... right now maybe he'd get away with it and she wouldn't notice him... letting out a last breath to steady himself he doubted that and had mixed feelings about Surusumi in one of his spots.
It wasn't exactly like this was a place he spied from well it was but not intentionally he liked to travel, having no general space on this world to call his own he mostly kept moving. This was a place he used to recover before moving on, it was warmer now the weather had finally broke and allowed the sun to brighten the spring days. He wanted to cross the water he was stronger now, flying through the winter had trained him back to his younger days he felt. Blade wanted to know what was the other side of that expanse of water, he couldn't see much land but wagered with himself he could make it now.
Standing on the spot he felt that awkwardness return, he couldn't leave... he didn't want to be rude but would she leave? He hadn't made the best company last time and he hadn't exactly jumped to greet her and actually why was she here or all places? Finding his brow raised curiously he pondered that, did it mean something or was he being stupid and thinking too much?

::Hello again,:: she said softly. Although she had come here looking for him, she was surprised to see him. She had begun to think he just wouldn't come back here. Surusumi hoped he was at least a little happy to see her. ::I was hoping to run into you again.:: She studied him, but was unable to get a read. She unfolded her legs, untucked her wings, and glided neatly to the ground near him.

Half the tension flooded away from him as she spoke first, he was thankful for that because he really had no clue how to address the situation and his thoughts had gone wild! On her next comment he felt a smile almost.... almost tug at the side of his beak it had been a long time since anyone sought him out or wanted his company. Then his thoughts where back to it's previous line she was here looking for him but why? He really didn't understand, had he given her a sign, he hadn't tried to be particularly pleasant just tolerable but here she was...
"You were?" It slipped out before he could really stop it and his brow was still raised curious... he really didn't understand not in the slightest why.

She grinned at him. ::Yes, silly,:: she said, amused. ::I rather enjoyed talking to you, and I thought it'd be nice to get to know you more.:: She also was extremely curious why he'd taken off so abruptly last time, although she was fairly certain that he'd just needed space, there wasn't much of a goodbye and she wondered if she bothered him after all. She rather liked him, despite his offputting demeanor, and wanted him to like her, too.

So she actually did want to see him and was here for that very reason, he mulled that over and decided he didn't know how to respond only that he wanted to know why. "I must be silly...." He trailed off but couldn't shift it and had to ask "But why?" Sure she'd said she wanted to get to know him and enjoyed their talk, he hadn't exactly... disliked it, he knew that much. Shrugging his shoulders he worked out the tension of a few hours flight and came to the conclusion that she hadn't left last time she wasn't shifting this time. Best get comfortable.
Two steps took him to a nice central spot with a good view, he didn't really wait for her to answer before lowering his weight and settling down not showing any signs of a sudden exit this time. It would be quite obvious he was going to be here a while giving into the fact so was she most likely, figuring he was going to get another experience with how to be sociable... maybe he'd have more of a clue how to respond this time though smart stars wouldn't take that bet.

She followed suit and changed locations slightly, walking around one side of him to lay on the ground facing him, so as to see his expressions as they talked. Last time she'd had to sneak glances to the side. ::You're silly because you seem surprised that I would be looking for you. And I'm looking for you because like I said, I want to get to know you more. There's something about you that intrigues me,:: she said, matter-of-fact. She realized as it came out of her mouth that it probably sounded more forward than she wanted it to be, but it was too late now, and in any case it was true.

He couldn't escape looking at her, looking away for too long would crank his neck though the view was real nice so for now he just eyed her over and watched her eyes and beak as she spoke. "It is." He stated simple and truthfully, thought without much emotion before again catching himself and considering he wasn't really being specific to what he was referring to. "Surprising that is." Another pause before he thought about it, why was it surprising? Oh yeah the obvious he was a grumpy loner and had been since he came here, hell even before. There was only one he was every close to and he was not here... and was not with him even before the arrival in this world or place or whatever.
"About me? Oh..." That gave him a strange feeling, he never considered himself anything special not different just existing. Trying to process that he couldn't and had to suppress a flush of heat, his gaze lowering in confusion, the emotions of uncertainty clear as all day.

She peered closely at Blade Ion. Was that a hint of red she saw beneath his feathers? What would he have to be embarrassed about? Surusumi shook her head, sure she was imagining it. There's no way anyone would be able to see color beneath the incredible ebony of his feathers, anyway.
She had been pretty sure at their last encounter, but there was no denying it now. She liked this male, in all his grumpiness and endearing uncertainty. If he would let her, she wanted to stick around for as long as she could. Surusumi had never entertained the prospect of long-term companionship before, romantically or otherwise, but somehow Blade Ion had managed to convey to her that he would not cause her any harm. Perhaps it was the protective anger he had shown in response to her past, or maybe it was because it seemed his natural reaction to just about anything seemed to be to go off by himself. Whatever it was, she felt safe. But how to approach a discussion with the shy stallion?
She smiled at him. "So where are you headed today?" she asked.

"I'm not." He stated simply and tried to flex his tense joints to gain some release from the pressure that was building now he's stopped moving. "Well not now." Whether she took that as him being too tired as he intended or that he had her company now he really didn't even consider. Blade had planned to make another trip... a trip over that water to see what else he could find but alas it seemed he would be staying here, perhaps he'd find a different perch to call it a night...
Shifting his weight he got into a more comfortable position, one that allowed him slightly more movement in his head, however he managed to angle it so he could see her yet also gaze at the view. Giving neither his full attention though it did allow his head a perch upon his legs to relax some of the aches quickly forming. As he ceased any movement his sight lined across the water and he sighed, starting to really let his form unwind from the busy day "Tomorrow.... Maybe." His tone was almost wistful.. a dreamy desire that one day he really did intend to cross and discover a new land.

Surusumi watched as Blade Ion stretched, admiring him and his muscles. His feathers had a healthy sheen, made more visible by his movements. Heat rushed up to her face, tinting her feathers somewhat orange. She wondered whether he was staying here because she happened to be here. She hoped so, and the thought of him enjoying her company made her blush even harder.
It looked like he might be settling in for the night, no plans to go anywhere else at all. Spending the night here together sounds wonderful... she thought. The sun had just begun to set, and the first hints of oranges and pinks were spreading slowly across the sky. The water glimmered as it reflected back the colors of the sky.
Surusumi shivered slightly as a particularly cool gust of wind ruffled her feathers. ::Brr,:: she said. ::Would you mind terribly if I huddled up with you to share warmth?:: She began moving toward him without waiting for an answer; she figured he would get cold at some point, too. Besides, if he said no, she would have to get up anyway and find someplace a bit more sheltered.

Watching the sunset across the glimmering span of water Blade found himself letting forth a sigh as he considered what could be out there. He imagined himself back in the land he had a supsision he shared with the yellow bird so very close to him. He thought of all the wonderful places he had seen before, the wonderful memories, what secrets had lurked out in so many other un explored territories. Imagining his rider as the warmth next to him suddenly he found many of his muscles relax, though truly he knew it was Surusumi it was still nice. Considering if it being her was so much of a bad thing.. he had avoided social interaction all he could but she'd been here to find him. No way he'd admit it but it was nice to feel wanted again and then he didn't need to imagine this warmth as his rider, it being her was just fine but again.. not a chance he'd voice it and his expression relaxed.
Despite his lack of voicing such opinions it wouldn't of mattered because she'd soon notice the male had an almost smile on his beak. Eyes closed however Blade was certainly asleep, his for once positive thoughts had relaxed him enough to ease the tension build up after a very vigorous and physical day. His appearance was now serene, his features smoothed to show he had a little age on him but not a huge amount, looking at him now... he could be anything... hidden inside could be any number of surprises. So it was without doubt, even if he did mind he didn't have much option, he was getting snuggled whether he liked it or not!

Since she hadn't gotten any reply at all, negative or not, she'd settled down on the ground next to him and snuggled in. She stretched one wing partially over his back and looked at him. Although she didn't have a good angle to completely see his face, Surusumi could see a fairly decent side profile. She felt tension drain out of him slowly as they lay there, and a very slight expression of ... something pleasant was spreading across his face. Was it happiness, contentedness? She had no way of knowing, and suspected she might not ever know, since he was a stallion of few words, but she was glad to see him getting comfortable enough around her to relax. It was a very promising sign.
She closed her eyes and sighed slightly, letting her body relax until she, too, drifted off to sleep. The night passed, and the sun began to peek over the horizon, warming the land once again.

Aside from a few twitches Blade has slept completely soundly, whether from fatigue or the comfort of another, mistaken for another or not, was debatable. Perhaps it was a combination of the two, his dreams were almost realistic, like he could smell the fresh spring grass and hear the chuckles of...
Turning with a smile he'd greeted his rider and from there on out the two had sought their latest adventure, treasure to the north, over mountains, across sea's and through multiple degree's of weather. The chocobo had a blast and though he and his rider could not verbally communicate they knew each other, he was pushed to his limit but they were successful. At the days end they snuggled down with the man made light and warmth contraception he'd been informed was a fire and he felt himself at complete ease....
The sun's beams where his alarm clock, though only the sounds of this lands smaller birds could be heard he felt himself truly content as he began to wake. The warmth of his rider still next to him, but he'd slept and now he felt invigorated for another day. Without opening his eyes yet he just let his senses adjust to hear.. to smell, to almost taste the world around him. The fire must of gone out but he couldn't scent any ash or residue hmm that was weird. With a half stretch he found his gaze move to check on the position of his rider and was noticeably shocked to find the yellow horse bird. It was like something just slapped him back reality as his thoughts swirled in confusions he'd just woken from a dream... again. This wasn't the first time and it wouldn't the last but this nights had felt so real, without moving in fear of waking his companion he wasn't entirely sure what to do now. Though his heart ached yet again he didn't want to disturb her, no that was wrong, he didn't want to deal with whatever was going to happen if/when she woke up. Even more accurate he didn't know how.
So laying he felt a cramp and unintentionally found one of his back legs stretch out to relieve it... damm... that would probably wake her... without even blinking he left his leg outstretched and stared down at her face. Having a good grasp on what was now reality and what had been a memory relived in his sleep and though he desperately searched his memory he couldn't pull up a single one to help in this situation. Maybe his waking up and sudden movement wouldn't wake her... maybe he'd have time to think of what he should do next but... if she did wake up and look at him... the first thing she'd see is him staring right at her sleepy features with a very stunned expression.
