 1000 HP VS  1000 HP Locke was sitting with Shuca on the seashore, quietly thinking while the vaporeon played in the waves. He watched as the submerged parts of Shuca disappeared; he had realized that Shuca was not just difficult to see when under water, but impossible. His ability of invisibility would come in handy someday, Locke was sure. He thought back to the battle that he and Shuca had attempted back at the pokemon stadium. He'd done a bit of reading as far as the rules of battle beforehand, yet he and Shuca had still failed. That was only to be expected; they were both beginners, after all. Still, he wished that he could get some more practice in before he attempted the stadium again. He and Shuca needed to be strong, now that they were outlaws. They couldn't afford to be caught off-guard and vulnerable. Locke would begin training himself as well as Shuca, but for now, Shuca was the priority. He looked around and spotted Aquamarine near the ship. He got up and brushed the sand off the seat of his pants and called Shuca out of the waves. He vaporeon bounded out, shook himself off vigorously, and happily followed Locke as he approached the other Aqua member. "Hey, Aquamarine, do you think you could give Shuca and me some tips on battling?" he asked. ((I'm not sure what Marina goes by, so let me know if you want me to change what Locke calls her!))

Aquamarine looked over the item logs as they took creates of the ship checking items off as she looked inside before stating were they went. Three crates of citrus, four chests of gold, two shipments of aqua and dive balls, and a create of rice. so far everything looked accounted for , hearing her name called she turned around to see Locke and Shuca. "Sure, its always a good idea to be familiarize yourself with a pokemon and its move set before going on a mission, and I could use some practice with Calder, its been a while since I've battled with him." The Aqua grunt let out a whistle, and a seemingly innocent log floating just below the surface of a sea-green patch off water came to life. The Feraligatr wandered over to its trainer. Marinia grabbed the arm of one of the other aqua members who had come on the shipment. "Here finish double checking the item log with the items you brought. Once that's finished and all the items are moved into the right places you guys should be clear for heading back to hoenn." She said handing him the clip board and giving him a look that said 'you better not mess this up'.
Turning away form the supply ship she waved for Locke to follow her as she walked to an area away from the ships. "Okay the first thing is to keep an eye on the surrounding, there are times when the terrain can give or take an advantage to your pokemon. For example The seashore set up for the stadium is a lot like the beach, There is a lot of water and there is sand, the water will give a boost to water types while hindering fire types. Since both Calder and Shuca are pure water types, the advantage won't help much in this fight."
(That's fine x3 Marina's just her nickname because I though it might be confusing if her nickname and team name were both Aqua XD and i don't always feel like typing out the full name lol)

"Its good to keep an eye on what moves your pokemon known to keep on top of type advantage, sometime pokemon have moves that seem odd for them but can be help full. For example, Feraligtr can learn Aerial Ace, a flying move despite being a water pokemon, Flying moves are super effective against grass and grass it super effective against water, this one move allows Calder to level the field with a grass type pokemon." She explained. "Vaporeon knows a lot of normal type moves because it was once an eevee, it also knows ice type moves. Since both our pokemon are week to Electric and grass and neither of them know moves of that type you're going to have to use your wits to win." She pulled out her communicator and sent him a list of moves she knew vaporeon could learn. It was no were near complete but it would be a good start It had some status changers/healers one as well as attacking moves.
Calder flicked his tail waiting for his turn to attack, this would be fun. the crocodilian pokemon wonder how strong the eon was.
"Some moves will change how well a pokemon attacks or how strong its defense is, they can either boost your pokemon or lower your opponents. For example, Calder, use Fake Tears!"
The crocodile looked at the other pokemon like he was in pain with tears welling up in his eyes before sliding down his scaly skin.

Shuca wagged his tail. Was it time to play with Calder? Why was he crying?
Locke looked at his communicator and tried to read it while also listening to Aquamarine. Before he had finished, he heard her shout a command to her Feraligatr. It was already his turn!
"Ummmm...." Locke said, trying to decide quickly. Finally he just picked an attack at random. "Use Ice Beam, Shuca!" he said.
Oh! A battle! He wanted to show Locke that he was strong! Shuca shot a freezing ray at Calder.

Calder didn't have time to pick up speed and move his lumbering body before he was hit with the ice beam and his crocodile tears were frozen to his face, along with the rest of his body. He did not look pleased.
"Attacks like ice beam can have two effects, they can either freeze the opponent as Shuca just did to Calder or it can inflict damage." There was little the aqua grunt could do with her pokemon frozen, luckily the ice didn't seem to thick she could use scald to free him but it looked like the ice would melt next turn anyways, and he should save his energy.

Locke scanned the list on his communicator again. "What does Haze do?" he asked. Shuca cocked his head to one side and opened his mouth. "Haze eliminates stat changes." Aquamarine explained. She watched calder out of the conner of her eye. "Giga impact"
The Crocodile burst out of the ice sending shards flying everywhere as it charged the vaporeon.

Shuca was sent flying from the impact of Calder's massive body. He slammed into the sand several feet away and skidded to a stop.
"SHUCA!" Locke shouted in alarm. He ran to the vaporeon, pitched to his knees, and reached out to see if he was still alive, when the vaporeon wobbled back to his feet and shook the sand out of his still-damp fur. "Vap!" he yipped to Locke in reassurance before darting back in Calder's direction.
Locke got to his feet much more slowly. Pokemon were a lot tougher than he'd thought... A human would have broken every bone in their body from that blow, he was sure. "Take it easy, will ya?" he called back to Aquamarine shakily. Goddamn monster of hers needs to be locked up...
Shuca didn't wait for Locke to recover; he sent another Ice Beam at his practice partner.

"Pokemon are strong, it will take a lot more that something like that to take them down. In the wild they would fight battles likes this all the time, you're pokemon will tell you when its starting to get weak or tired from the fight. Watch Shuca as he fights and he'll let you know if he wants to back down. Its good to know when to pull back to protect them, but you've also got to trust that your pokemon knows how far they can push them selves." She said.
Caldur had just manged to pull him self back up after slamming into the other pokemon when he was hit and solidified with the ice he had just spent so much effort breaking out of.
"Remember in a real battle the opponent will not hesitate to bring down your pokemon, possibly by any means necessary and as fast as they can. That being said that is a practice fight. That means going easy on Shuca, Calder."
The reptilian pokemon would have responded that he understood, that hit had been harder than he intended but he had been trying to break the ice.
"Scald." Aquamarine commanded. "Pokemon can get what we call status condition during the battle, this is when they have a burn or get poisoned or paralyzed and the like during the course of a fight. Burn and Poison hurt the pokemon while they are effected by it, they will clear up in a few rounds but the damage they inflict gets worse the longer they are effected."
Finally, the crocodile was sick of getting stuck in the ice, water started to leak out of his mouth and started heating up as it surrounded him, in an attempt to melt the ice.

The ice splintered as the vaporeon slammed into it. The crocodile was still traped. He was waiting for the ice to melt and strike, the closer the other pokemon the faster he could attack.
