If you haven't read it, do so; if you have, discuss.

Probably one of the best books on punctuation there is (can't say I've read many), amusing too.

As should I (I borrowed my friend's Dad's copy). ^_^

It's by Lyanne(sp?) Truss. She wrote Talk to the Hand, too (also known as 'The Utter Bloody Rudeness of Everyday Life' or 'Six Good Reasons to Stay at Home and Bolt the Door').

I really enjoyed it. I should buy it too, because I only managed to get it at the library. Once I manage to get more than $9 in my wallet, I'll go buy it.

It's "Lynne", and I loved that book. I'm reading it for the second time right now (almost finished). I've been wanting to find some more of her books and read them, but I haven't gotten around to going to the library yet. She's got a wonderful sense of humor, and I like how she presented everything in the book.

I haven't read it, but has anybody read the parody of it 'Eats, Shites and Leaves'? It's very amusing, to say the least!

Best grammar book ever. I want my own copy, but I'm too poor at the moment.

I like Eats, Shoots & Leaves too! (*giggle* I strikethough'd the comma!)

I applaud Lynne Truss. That book was educational and fun to read at the same time. A winner!!!

I've read Talk to the Hand now as well. I must say, it's definately not as good as Eats, Shoots and Leaves, and I disagreed with some of the things she said very much, but it's still quite good.

Anyone who can make a grammar book end up a best seller deserves lots of praise. I enjoyed every page myself.

This book should be required reading for everyone in this guild! eek
In all fairness; this book is great! If you are in this guild you will more than likely enjoy this book a lot. heart

"To be fair, many people who couldn’t punctuate their way out of a paper bag are still interested in the way punctuation can alter the sense of a string of words. It is the basis of all “I’m sorry, I’ll read that again” jokes. Instead of “What would you with the king?” you can have someone say in Marlowe’s Edward II, “What? Would you? With the king?” The consequences of mispunctuation (and re-punctuation) have appealed to both great and little minds, and in the age of the fancy-that email a popular example is the comparison of two sentences:

A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing."

from Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss
