Mel place her hands on her knees as she tries to catch her breath. Having just got back into gymnastic, she was attempting to work on a routine using her own music to dance and tumble to. Only problem was, she was having a hard time coming up with actually dance move that she like.Pushing a few stray curls from her face, she shakes her head as she tugs on the leotard for a moment. Her eyes turning to the spring floor for a moment before she sighs "I use to be able to do this? Why am I having so many problems?" she knew the answer, her mind wasn't on gymnastics.
They were on the guy she started to have feeling for.
Shaking her head, she takes off running before going into a front handspring, round off, back hand spring, back tuck combo. Landing in the opposite side of the mat, she looks up at the ceiling for a moment before she goes over to her bag and water bottle.Taking a sip from her water, she picks her phone up and looks at it for a moment. Her fingers pausing over Boaz's name, but she doesn't call him.
Instead, she pulls up another name and hits the message button.Paris - Dancer Hey, I'm not sure if you remember me. Its Mel, you danced to a song I played on my flute. I was wondering if I could get your help. I'm at the gym, on the gymnastic floor. -M Flipping her phone to the side, she quickly sends the message before she drops the phone in her lap "Hopefully she'll remember me."Sunshine Alouette So sorry, life ate me. But here that rp I promised. Sorry for a crappy start.

Indeed, Paris remembered Mel, not only because she'd dance for the flutist and the experience had stuck in her brain due to the uniqueness of it, but also because Paris had programmed Mel into her phone under the name “Mel – Christa's Cousin.” Given that her last encounter with Christa had ended on an odd note and her teammate had proceeded to ignore her attempts to contact her again since then, Paris was intrigued by Mel's text and wondered if it might have anything to do with that. And, being nosy as well as moderately offended that she was being ignored by Kallichore of all people, Paris saw no reason not to meet up and assist Mel with whatever she had on her mind.
Of course, it could very well not even be about that at all. Maybe Mel just wanted her help with another song. Whatever the case, Paris was sure she'd be able to squeeze a question or two in there if she was patient enough to wait for an appropriate opening.
She was in the cafeteria trying to decide on an afternoon snack when she got the text and quickly sent back a “sure be there in a sec” before grabbing a parfait and a spoon and standing in line to check out. She scarfed it down on the way to the gym and tossed the plastic spoon and corresponding plastic container in the trashcan outside the door. Then Paris wandered in and made her way to the area Mel had indicated.
Paris had not yet changed out of her ballet clothes, which today comprised of a strawberry pink leotard with three-quarter length sleeves, pale tights with the convertible feet rolled up to her ankles, and a dark purple skirt, a white cardigan pulled hastily over top to combat the descending autumn chill. She had, however, removed her toe-shoes so as not to ruin them on the many surfaces that made up the campus grounds; they'd been replaced with a fair of simple black flats. Her hair had been styled earlier that morning and sat upon her head in a big puff of a bun, joined by a floral printed headscarf tied in a cute bow. As such, she didn't look entirely out of place in the gymnasium, especially with her dance bag slung over one shoulder, but she did look rather bright and cheerful and perhaps stood out a bit for that reason.
She spotted Mel soon after entering and greeted her with a cheery wave and a bubbly sounding, “Hi, what's up?”

Mel was just getting ready to try her combination again when she heard a familiar voice. Turning her eyes towards Paris, she gives the blond a smile before she nods to her "Hey, just give me one second." without another word, she took off into a sprint, running across the mat before doing a back hand spring. Only problem was, she didn't get the landing perfect as she dropped to her knees. Sitting there for a moment, she tries to catch her breath before she looks to Paris.
She was fine, she could tell that she didn't break anything. It was more of a pride thing for her at the moment.
Moving back over to Paris, she gives a weak smile as she picks up her water bottle "I'm sorry to just up and text you out of no where, but you were the first person that came to my mind. Dance major and all, I figured maybe you could help me with my routine since I can't seem to focus."
Gotta love it when a girl can't focus....

Paris knew a thing or two about pride, so while she was mildly concerned when Mel didn't quite make her landing, she also didn't rush over to make sure she was alright. There would have been signs if she was injured, Paris was sure—a certain look that cross her face, if nothing else—and she knew from experience that hovering by overly (and unnecessarily) concerned people could often be annoying when the only problem was that you'd missed out on perfection.
So she stood patiently and waited for Mel to make her way back over to her, smiling her quiet support the entire time.
“It's fine,” she said in response to Mel's apology. “I'm on campus a lot anyways, and I wasn't busy. I've finished up classes for the day and I don't have work, so this is perfect, actually.”
If Paris were honest, she'd have to admit that she liked that she'd been thought of. Of course, she supposed they'd each made a unique impression on one another given the circumstances under which they'd met, so it certainly made sense for Mel to have contacted her for this if she wasn't currently in the company of other dancers or gymnasts, but Paris felt pleased all the same. She liked the attention; she liked thinking she'd managed to make another friend.
And she didn't have very many friends to related to when it came to dance—only Lily.
“Well, first of all, what's messing with your focus?” Paris tried. “If it's a focus problem, you've gotta try to get rid of any other distractions first, otherwise it's probably just going to keep popping up and bothering you.”

Mel kneels down to grab her towel to wipe at her brow, knowing full well what her problem was. With a sigh, she lays the towel on the back of her neck "My problem is a guy...I don't know what to do, or how to get him to understand I like him." taking another sip from her water, she looks down at it.
"I know I should be focus on my routine, but I can't until I figure out what I can do other then flat out kiss him." she gives a weak chuckle, before she turns her eyes back to Paris "Sound crazy huh? Allowing a guy to get to me that much." but Boaz wasn't just a normal guy, she felt an instant attraction to him and she didn't understand why.
Pulling her hair out of its ponytail only to place it back up, she smooths it out as she shrugs "I mean, we have only been on one date, but I can't get him out of my head. I don't know what to do, I haven't felt like this in a long time." not since she was sixteen.
Stepping back onto the spring mat, she bounces a few times to get enough air before she stops "Sorry to just lay that all out." she honestly didn't mean to, it just sort of happen. But she found she could talk to Paris, and she hope that they could grow and become friends.Sunshine Alouette Not your fault hun, I just wish family drama would end.

“It's totally fine,” Paris said in response to Mel's apology.
And she really didn't mind. She couldn't consider herself an expert on relationships even if she was married, but that didn't mean she didn't feel as if she could talk about them. Of course, the only advice she could give was in relation to her own experiences, which admittedly weren't that extensive. Before Chris there'd been a steady string of very brief flings, mostly with people who's names she could no longer remember. Some of their faces were even a blur at this point. None of them had meant anything to her.
But she could understand how Mel was feeling. For a long time Chris had been that sort of a distraction, at least until she'd been able to reconcile her feelings for him and get to a point where everything in their relationship had settled comfortably into place.
“I've always been a fan of honesty,” she said. “I mean, the only bad thing that could happen if you just came out and told him how you feel is that he might decide he doesn't feel the same way. And, yeah, that'll hurt, but if he doesn't feel anything that's something you'd probably have to go through at some point anyway.
“It's not crazy,” Paris reassured her. “Even if you wanted to wait to tell him, you could always ask him out on another date. Test the waters a little more. Maybe spending some more time with him'll help you figure out what you want to do. If he says yes to a second date, then chances are he enjoyed the first one. Definitely don't feel like you have to wait for him to make the next move.”Pixie Krysta Ordreg Family drama is the worst! I hope things settle down for you soon! <333

Mel thought over what Paris told her, as she found herself agreeing with alot of what she had to say. Placing her hands on her hips, she shrugs "I'm more worried he might have a problem with out age gap. He five years older then me, so I don't want him to think I'm immature. That I am worth giving a chance." she hadn't given it a thought about asking him, instead of waiting for him to ask her.
The very idea actually made her smile.
"I think, its not so much as being upset if it doesn't work...its that I am scared he might not see it could work." carefully sitting down on the spring mat, she pulls her knees up to her chest "I wish it was just easy you know? I would give anything just to tell him right now 'Hey, I think your super sexy...why not take this a step further?' If I could just figure out what he was thinking, I wouldn't be so distracted at the moment."Sunshine Alouette Me too, I'm so sick of it.

Paris laughed. “Aren't girls usually more mature than most guys five years older then them?” she wondered. “I don't think five years is so bad. I mean, especially once you're an adult and in college and starting to do adult things, what does age really matter? Some people like to think I'm too young to be married, but screw that. It wasn't their decision, was it? Maybe if you were still in high school that'd be different, but... five years is a pretty average difference in a relationship, isn't it?”
She pondered this for a moment but had no way to apply it to her own situation and therefore could not determine much as to the positives and negatives. She and Chris were only a year and a half apart, and that was not a huge difference by any stretch. But if the gap was larger than that, would she feel any different? Would things be any different?
She didn't think so. Their ages had nothing to do without how they felt about one another.
“You just have to make sure he's focusing less on your age and more on who you are and how he feels about you,” Paris advised. She sat down, too, depositing her dance bag onto the floor. “And if you keep worrying about it or it seems like the age thing is an issue for him there's nothing to say you can't talk to him about it. Lots of stuff can be worked out through a good conversation. I bet, if he's thinking about the age at all, he's worried about it for different reasons. What if, instead of thinking about your age, he's thinking more about his own? Like, 'Why would this totally hot girl want me when I'm five years older and she could have any other guy she could possibly want?'”

Melinda just sat there, pondering over everything Paris said to her. She was right, what if it was the fact he was trying to figure out why she was into him? With a shake of her head, she couldn't stop herself from chuckling as she nods "I like him, because he nothing like any of the boys I met. When I am near him, I can't even think. My mind just, it unable to focus on anything but him. And I always want to smile around him." she shakes her head, feeling so silly that she confessed that.
"In high school at Crystal...there was maybe two guys who I thought were cute. One died sadly...and the other I haven't seen since he hit me with a baseball by accident. Though I had this huge feeling he might have been into another girl already. He was really nice though, if anything, he would have been a great person to play music with." with a careless shrug, she taps her toes on the mat for a brief moment.
"So do you have guy drama, or have you found the one?" she just realized she didn't know that much about Paris. Which made her frown, as she honestly like the girl, and wanted to be friends with her.Sunshine Alouette I am so so sorry hun. OTL My muse died and life hated me. Paris listened to Mel's explanation of her feelings toward the guy in her life, and couldn't help but let her mind drift toward thoughts of Chris. She knew almost exactly what Mel was talking about, having felt many of the same things for Chris for almost three years, though in that time those feelings had matured somewhat. They were still there, of course, but they were different now. There was less of the anxiety associated with dating and just getting to know someone, and more security in the thought that Chris was the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, and now she would.
“No guy drama,” she answered, after listening to Mel. “At least not anymore. I've been married since March.”
She lifted her left hand to briefly show off the set of rings that adorned her ring finger—her wedding ring being a simple platinum band, and her engagement ring much more of a show piece, a large pink diamond with a halo of white diamonds surrounding it, and more trailing down the sides of the band. Normally she didn't make a point of showing it off; the cost of it made her nervous when presenting it to friends whose opinions on such lavish spending she was unsure of.
“His name's Chris. We met at a party about two and a half years ago,” she said, since it seemed silly not to offer the story after presenting the rings. “I was still in high school, a junior, and Chris had just finished his first year of college. At first I was just messing around, you know, dating for fun. He was cute and really sweet, and he treated me way better than any other guy I'd been with before. Back then I didn't think we had a lot in common, but we just fit really well together, I guess, and the more we were around each other the more I liked about him. And... I don't know, at some point I realized that I didn't want to be without him anymore. Ever. It sounds silly, but things just kept progressing from there. We took a couple of breaks to get our heads back on straight, but eventually he proposed last December and we got married three months later. We didn't want to wait,” she admitted, and smiled sheepishly.Pixie Krysta Ordreg It's totally okay!! Take all the time you need!!

Mel arched a brow for a brief moment at the name, wondering if the Chris she met was the same one. That all forgotten the moment she saw the ring, as she nearly came off the mat and was next to Paris instantly "Whoa wait, I know you weren't married when we first met right?" she tried to think, no she was pretty sure Paris wasn't wearing a ring. A smile coming to her lips as she couldn't help herself, and ends up hugging Paris.
"Congratulation!" she pulls back, only to turn red in the face. She really didn't mean to invade Paris's personal space, she just really loved when people actually fall in love and get married.
Taking a small step back, she couldn't help but pinch her nose for a moment "See this is what i want...love..marriage.." she paused "Is it bad...I'm hoping I found it....?" she wasn't jumping the gun, but something about Boaz.
She just couldn't help but think that way.

Paris was more than happy to accept both the praise and the hug, returning the quick embrace and smiling widely when Mel pulled back, hoping it hadn't seemed as if she minded the invasion of her space. Her boundaries might have changed a bit over the years, and she was perhaps a bit more protective of her space than she used to be, but celebratory hugs were in no way unwanted, particularly when they came from people she liked.
“I think you and I met sometime a November ago,” Paris said. “I had a promise ring back then, but it wasn't nearly as showy as this one.”
She managed to look moderately embarrassed, though she was doing slightly better with feeling a little less uncomfortable with the amount of money Chris had spent on her ring. Of course, a two carat promise ring was showy in its own right, but Paris thought a four carat pink diamond tended to lean more toward overkill for most people. Chris had never come clean about the price tag, but Paris knew enough to estimate.
She didn't go into those details, though, lest it seem like she was bragging.
“Chris proposed that December, and we decided not to wait very long before getting married, so we had a ceremony at the courthouse that March and then a big reception after,” she explained. “It probably seemed like we were rushing, but it worked for us. I don't think it's bad if you think this guy is The One. Or even if you're just hoping he is,” Paris said reassuringly. “Years ago I wasn't really a fan of this sort of stuff. Thought I'd never want to get married, assumed I'd just keep dating for fun and enjoying myself instead of settling down. Some people just don't care for the whole marriage thing, you know? And that works for them. I thought it'd work for me. But Chris changed a lot of that for me. I wouldn't say I was hoping for it, but... when I finally figured it out I was pretty sure that was what I wanted.”

Mel shakes her head before she falls back onto the spring mat "See now I am jealous. Why can't I have that?"she grins towards Paris to let her know she was simply kidding "No but really, I would give anything if I could have something like you and your husband Chris." she paused for a moment, wondering if this Chris was the same one.
Sitting up, she was curious
"Hey Paris, by any chance. Is your Chris a baseball player for the university. Brown hair, tan skin?" she couldn't help it, because talk about small world if he was. Not to mention, she was glad then. He was a sweet guy, and Paris was a sweet girl.
They deserved one another.
Brushing her hands off onto her tights, she stands "Alright, I think my head is clear now. So that little combination you saw me do before I came to talk to you. That is my problem, I am not sure what to do afterward. I want something that will just make my coach go jaw dropped."Sunshine Alouette I hope your feeling better hun -hugs-

“I bet you'll find it at some point. It'll happen when you least expect it,” she said, and thought it sounded a bit cliché, but she'd learned it was true in certain instances.
Then her eyes widened somewhat as Mel more or less described Chris perfectly, not because she was all that surprised that Mel could pick him out (people on campus tended to know him from the baseball team, and she'd learned now to be too shocked when she heard people talking about him), but because she enjoyed the opportunity to talk about him some more. Call it a selfish habit, but she was proud of her husband.
“Oh, yeah!” she said. “That's him. Really cute pitcher. Kinda shaggy hair. Wears the number 12. The prettiest golden eyes and the sweetest face you ever saw. Have you seen him play before?” she hazarded a guess. “He's looking to get drafted into the majors out of college. I'll be an official Baseball Wife of Destiny City.”
Paris followed Mel's movements and stood up, leaving her dance bag on the floor for the time being. “I don't know how much help I'd be with gymnastics. I've done some while I've been on the dance team, but I usually let other people choreograph my combinations.”Pixie Krysta Ordreg I am doing a little better! Thank you! <3 I hope you're well! :3

Mel was actually glad to hear they were one in the same. Pushing her bangs from her face, she nods a little "Sort of, he accidentally hit my bike with a baseball while he was batting with his team one day. Poor guy got teased badly, told him they were just jealous because they weren't allowed to talk to the cute girl. I was mostly trying to get the other boys to leave him alone." she was glad to know he was doing well, as she hadn't seen him late "Could you tell him Mel says hi?"
Her smile grew as she listen to Paris "But see, this is where your perfect. I can't dance at all, I know that sounds strange. Playing music and all, but really I suck. I can do the technical part just fine." she paused "Its adding the style, flare..and romance to anything I have problems with. Its why when I saw you dance to my song I created, I was finally happy. It took you dancing to see I finally achieved what I been working on for weeks.Otherwise, I would have changed it all over again." she blushed as she look down "I was hoping maybe you can help me with that again, adding some of your dance style to my routine." she glance back up, chewing on her bottom lip for a brief moment.Sunshine Alouette I'm doing good, trying to get back into the swing of things.
