So the Mister still refused to eat even the Acanna. So I went out today and got him some Purina One Urinary Health Food with some Purina One wet food.
He inhaled both. D: This is the first time hes eaten solidly in 2 days minus the fish Fancy Feast I gave him the other night.
I tried a variety of wet foods (Natures Variety, Weruva, Wellness) and none of them helped his peeing problem. sad And he refuses to touch the Blue Buffalo we got him.
They clearly state that theres no fillers in their food. emotion_facepalm When corn and corn ingredients are the fist 2 listed. But this is moderately better than the urinary Pro Plan made by Purina which doesnt have any meat in whatsoever. D: Just corn and animal fat and chemicals.
Freyja will still be on Acanna/Orijen because she doesnt have a peeing problem.
Any thoughts, ideas, etc? I hate to go back to Purina but nothing of the norm is working for him. sad
Also, Im worried about him becoming a dander bucket.

If you mix the Purina with Acana/Orijen, will he eat everything?
You're also not the first person out there to have issues with pets refusing to eat Blue - I've never tried it but I've heard a fair few people say their pets won't eat it (specifically the life source bits or whatever they're called), and/or that it makes them quite stinky.

Hell eat everything but the Acanna/Orijen. :/ I tried last night for his final feeding and he ate all the bright sunshine yellow pieces that are the Purina and skipped the Acanna. I wonder why they dont like Blue? If I still had the bag, Id return it. Freyja eats it (she wont touch her kibble unless its mixed with something different) so it wont go to waste. Ive also concluded he will be getting more baths.

At least the foods aren't going to waste - you may be stocked up for food for Freyja for quite awhile, but that sure beats having to toss a whole bunch of food (and thus money)

But Im really amazed at the difference just switching his food has done for him. Last night he was playful, polite and he even woke me up this morning which he hasnt done all week. O_o He hasnt been this way for awhile. D: I mean, I hate to feed him Purina (the first 2 ingredients are corn which Purina doesnt consider "fillers" and that its good for the coat) but if he pees more on it, I may just continue to feed him that mixed with whatever kibble Freyja is eating. He peed 3 times yesterday. O_o

~ Aki - Fairy ~ It's great that he's showing signs of improvement, even if it does mean backtracking a bit Im excited. it reminds me of a conversation I had with my holostic pet store guy where there was this cat who had severe kidney disease and refused to eat anything but Friskies. And though it ment the overall health of the cat, she would not let her cat starve. Purina One isnt wholly horrible (compared to its meatless sister Pro Plan~ Look up the urinary food. All it has is animal fat in it. D: ) and Ive heard of cats living to be quite old on lesser foods.

Just like the other case, better that he eat and be at least somewhat healthy than that he starve to death. And hopefully, if you're lucky, the refusal to eat good food will just be temporary.
