While it might sound odd, the word "shutdown" in the title of this thread is exactly what it appears to be. Although this has not occurred in some seventeen years, it is making a reappearance.
This is taking place as a result of the United States Congress failing to measures of funding basic services. Active at midnight on Tuesday, the first of October of 2013, any "non-essential" workers are forced to remain home and not attend their duties.
Of course, as has already been seen through previous accounts, the inactivity of the shutdown is likely to be immediately detrimental to the community in multiple manners.
