"Ooh, is that a new shipment of Moleskine books?" Charli asked, leaning close in at the elbow of the pretty girl with cherry red eyes and jet black hair. She'd come to the art store to find herself some new blank books to work on toy ideas in, and Moleskine books were a bit of a luxury choice of item for her. "Aren't they the best? Have you tried one yet? They're just the best, I think. I could just take one of each home just to have them."

They almost felt too nice to draw in, but that was sort of silly.

"My old one is full, and they were out the last time I came in. Do you draw? I kinda draw, but mostly I do fiber craft and stuff. My name is Charli, nice to meet you."

It was an impressive and lengthy spiel, especially given that Charli didn't know the other girl from Eve, and was barely giving her a chance to get a word in edgewise until she beamed from ear to ear and held out a hand in an offer to shake.

She liked touching people, but hugging generally needed to wait until at least the person knew your name. Names were the doorway to hugs. That or Free Hug signs. Free Hug signs forever.

Standing there looking at the sketchbooks, Delilah was going over different sizes and weights trying to decide which would be best to replace the one she carried around in her bag. The smaller size meant she ran through them quickly but it also meant she could take it anywhere.

Just as she was going to reach for one, a voice came out of no where and made Delilah jump. As her heart raced, she looked over her shoulder back at the female who was addressing her. To her question, she could only nod once before the woman's mouth was off and running again.

Once a moment of silence happened and Delilah found a hand reaching for her, the teenager could feel a smile cross her face. Chuckling slightly, she reached out and shook it. "Normally this forward when looking for sketch books?" As always, giving the business handshake she knew, Delilah moved to pull it back. "I must admit you scared me sneaking up like that. And I'm sorry but you said your name was?"

In all the words, calm and collected Delilah had missed her name as well as half of the other words that came out. Her heart was still racing and she could feel her body physically stepping backwards two steps to give her a little breathing room to calm down.

"Oh hon." Charli's bright, wide grin turned just a bit prankish, and her lids half lowered until her expression was one part sultry, and one part... something else. Like the opportunity to steal a cookie before dinner with a friend. Sweet and misbehaved. "I'm as forward as people will let me be." She laughed after she said it, making it harder to tell if she were joking or flirting and then, gave the offered hand a firm shake.
"I'm Charli. How about you? Sorry to scare you, it really wasn't what I was going for."

Was this girl flirting with her?

Delilah was watching the woman closely as she grinned. There was something there in the woman's eyes that made Delilah a little uneasy, and that was a feet! The calm and collected woman was not used to someone just walking into her space and having such a presence.

"Nice to meet you Charli." Delilah wasn't up for volunteering her own name just yet. She needed to feel this woman out a bit more. Or run.

"Apology accepted. And really it's no big deal. It's not as if I dumped coffee all over myself or something." She shrugged it off with that. "Am I blocking you from the sketch book you want?" She asked looking back at the shelves of books.

"Nah, you aren't blocking anything, I always take a little while trying to decide which one is the one I'm looking for." Charli offered, brightly. "I know it's silly but it feels like they kind of...wait for the right person. And I like imagine who they might go to. Like..." She paused, and picked up a lined book.

"This one could be someones secret diary... or maybe it's where someone will write the most ama-zing book! They have so much potential, just like people."

In confined quarters, she couldn't sweep her arm in as encompassing a gesture as she would have liked, but never the less made a graceful wave of her hand, gesturing around them at other people in the store.

"I'm glad I didn't make you spill coffee on yourself, that would hurt and be a waste of a tasty cup of joe."

Slowly Delilah began to calm down as she listened to Charli talk about the life of the sketch books and what they could hold. In her own right, Delilah felt the same way. The book had to fit her just right else she would go insane using it and just thrust it to the back of her desk. Too small and she would get annoyed. Too large and she felt she left too much empty. No, she had her favorite.

But the gesture made Delilah pull her head back out of her thoughts to duck slightly. "While I have never thought about it like that, I do know for me personally the book has to be a good fit." She reached out and picked one up that was a bound side. "Like this one." Opening it up she looked at the seam. "They are so constricting to work with. you are stuck looking at too pages until you want a fold down the middle of the back or to break the binding." Shaking her head, she returned it back to the shelf. "I don't use too pages at once so something like that causes me a challenge."

Her smile was sweet now as she looked up. "But you might find it a good fit."

"I love the ones with spiral binding for detailed work, but yeah.... I like these for being on the go, the book style binding doesn't bug me when I'm doing quick notes and sketches." Charli admitted. "Like anything else it's got it's pros and cons, and I like both so..." She grinned hugely and held out a hand to take the bound sided book. "I think this one would actually be perfect to doodle some new stuffies in. Besides I can say I picked it out meeting fascinating new people."

Never mind that Charli had the habit of informing everyone that they were fascinating.
