Jordan had turned his phone on long enough to locate Peyton's information and room number in the directory. He was certain that her arm would be fine - usually, as long as whatever body part had been injured wasn't actually detached, it would heal - but she might yet need some reassurance about that. Anyway, he'd seen her only in passing, and he liked to be at least on mildly friendly terms with other Suns. He rapped lightly on her door. If she was out, he'd come back later.

The door opened and Peyton glanced up at the person on the other side of it. He was about the same height as the person she was used to finding on the other side of the door, but there was a distinct lack of dark hair, stubble, or mingled scent of cleaning supplies and cigarette smoke. "Hey Jordan." She sounded vaguely surprised to see him, but not in a bad way. "How's it going?"

Stepping back, she opened the door for him to come in.

Her room was mostly neat. The bed was mad, there weren't any clothes laying all over the place. It could have been more organized, but it looked comfortable. There was an empty whiskey bottle and a sling laying on her desk.

"It's going all right," Jordan said, and moved into the room a little ways when she moved aside to let him in. "I just came by to see how you were doing. How's the arm? Are you feeling okay?"

He glanced briefly over the room. It looked like she was reasonably comfortable here, at least, probably not hurting too badly or feeling too deeply depressed if she was taking the time and effort to keep it tidy. His eyes skated over the sling and the bottle, but other than a look of mild curiosity, his expression didn't change; he didn't, at least, seem to be disapproving.

Peyton took a seat on the edge of her bed and hooked a foot under her desk chair to pull it out for Jordan. She used her left hand to gesture to it, both as an invitation to sit, as well as an answer to his question. Grinning, she wiggled her fingers at him. "Mobility is coming back, not all the way yet, and there's no real strength in my arm, but it's something." She also couldn't lift it higher then midway up her torso, but the notable improvement seemed to have her in a good mood.

"Warrick says to give him another couple weeks, and I should be good as new." She didn't mention her worry spawned doubts, they weren't helpful. Warrick didn't take them personally, he knew his partner was just scared.

"It should make the tournament fairly interesting," she mused, gaze dropping to her hand as she flexed her fingers and rotated her wrist.

Jordan smiled and sat down, resting his elbows on his knees. "Good progress," he said. "Are you going without the sling completely, or just on and off for now? Be careful not to strain yourself. You don't want it to take longer." The advice was delivered in a matter-of-fact tone, not condescending.

He nodded at the comment about her weapon, making a mental note of his name. "I guess I forget sometimes how long it takes early on. Ferros and I are very closely bonded by now, so he's able to patch me up quicker. You look like you're well on the way, though. Did the infirmary techs give you a set of exercises to do to help keep everything in good order?"

"You're going through with the tournament then? I'll come watch, if I'm not fighting at the time," he said. "If you don't mind, anyway."

She shrugged, but the motion only followed through on the right side. "For the most part without, but if it's bothering me use the sling." Obvious disdain for the thing leaked into her voice. She hated having to use it, the necessity of it, and had taken it off the first chance she got. Possibly not the wisest course, but she was remarkably stubborn for someone so small.

"The healing gets better the more bonded you become?" That was good to know. Injuries were probably something she could expect to endure for the rest of her life, short as it may be, so a speedy recovery was very appealing. Specially for a front line offensive soldier.

As for the Life techs. "Kind of." It didn't seem to her like she'd been a priority, which at the time had been panic inducing, but now, all things considered, had meant she wasn't as badly hurt as she'd felt. Something worth remembering for later, though in the heat of the moment she doubted something like that would resurface helpfully.

"Yes." She watched his face, waiting for the disapproval, but smiled when none was offered. The thought that she could simply back out had simply never occurred to her until Taym had mentioned it in question. He'd suggested she go through with it, said she was probably more capable one handed then most of the combatants she was going to be up against. She wasn't sure she believed that, but she was going to find out. "I'd love a little moral support, so sure."

Jordan nodded. "As you figure each other out and settle into it, he'll be able to speed up your healing process. He'll also get stronger and gain charge attacks. He might change in appearance or size, but that doesn't always happen. It differs for different pairs."

He nodded again. "If you feel like you're retaining any stiffness or your range of motion's not improving, you can ask one of the doctors. Don't worry about being a bother. As a Sun, you need to stay in good shape, so if you're at all concerned about the healing process, ask." He grinned. "If you get resistance, go to Allan and tell him you need a little help getting the techs to help you on your path to honor and glory. That should clear the obstructions fast enough."

"I will, then." He hadn't seriously thought she'd back out; it might be the practical thing to do, but she'd also been placed in Sun, and that implied to Jordan that she had that inner fire of slightly crazed determination that most Suns seemed to share in to some degree. She'd go into the tournament hurting and proceed to beat her opponents stupid. "You'll do fine," he said, nodding.

Pale eyes widened. "That all sounds pretty amazing." Accelerated healing, steady growth in power. Really it sounded better then amazing. Warrick hadn't said anything, but she could feel his budding curiosity and excitement like a weight in her head.

As the topic redirected back to her shoulder she gave it an experimental roll. It didn't feel stiff to her, yet, but there was a promise of it as more and more of the damage was repaired. Rapidly repaired at that, Peyton could definitely see how an injury like her's held the potential for stiffening up if left unchecked. She liked to think being generally fit helped. She ran three times a week, and that included a lot of stretching. Not to mention near daily training.

Smiling, she gave her finger's a flex. "Allen is kind of unique, but he seems like really good people." A lot better then some division heads, to be sure. Rumors seldom painted flattering pictures.

"Everyone keeps saying I'll do fine. I really hope I don't prove them wrong." But at least she was trying. That counted.

Jordan grinned lopsidedly. "It's a slow but steady progression, for the most part, except for weapons changing. If that happens, it'll be between one summon and the next, and they don't always know it's coming, either. But you'll get physically stronger and tougher as well over time."

"Allan's eccentric, I'll give you that," he said. "But he genuinely cares about his people and he takes care of us. If you have a problem, he'll listen to you and he'll do his best to help you solve it. Even if his solutions do sometimes involve - uh - unorthodox methods. That's why most of Sun loves him. He earns it." He'd been a little put off by Allan upon first encountering the man, but that had quickly changed to admiration and deep respect. The occasional costume incident or watching some strange cartoons were a small price to pay.
