Amarus was sitting, cross-legged, in one of the chairs in the Ghost commons area. Lately she had been spending a lot more time around the dorm, especially where she could be easily found; she had no eyePhone any more, and thus could not receive texts nor use Critter, so she figured the easiest way for Ghosts to get in touch with her would be if she just spent more time in her own dorms.
So her she was, sitting with a purple sports jacket with black cloth trim in her lap, staring at the logo that had been embroidered on the back. She tilted her head, bells ringing, as she tried to figure something out.
Seizing upon opportunity, she noticed another ghost student-- a new one, she figured, given she'd never seen him before. "You," she tried to catch his attention, waving him over. It was relatively empty in the commons at the moment, so she couldn't imagine there would be any confusion as to whom she was addressing, "Come here for a second."
She was going to ask him to model the jacket. Just for a second. Probably. Wait, she had to be polite, now that she was an RA.
"Please," she added, looking as though she'd never had to say the word before in her afterlife. She grimaced faintly, but the displeasure was wiped from her face instantly as she regained her look of calm.Frezir Let me know if this is okay xD

Raleigh had just been accepted into the academy. His glowing eyes looked to his paperwork then to his new dorm room. He entered leaving his belongings behind and would set it to his liking later on in the day. He closed the door and locked it behind him. His hooves tapped against the commons floor. His attention was caught by a voice and a jingle of bells. He waved back with an empty expression. He walked towards the ghost ghoul to see that she had a jacket on her lap. It had caught his attention. "Can I help you with something?" Raleigh asked as he was close enough for her to hear him. His voice seemed to be fitting for his appearance. He looked at the jacket and the beautiful logo on the back. "Are you in a club?" He asked as he stood practically next to her.

Well that was odd. He seemed to have very little sense of personal space which weirded Amarus out more than she'd have expected; no one really stood this close to her, ever, except for maybe Enzo on occasion-- okay, and Freya or Kettil, but she practically draped herself on them whenever she had a chance. No strangers stood this close, she amended mentally. "I am considering starting one, in actuality," she said, surprised a little he had guessed her purpose. She rose from her seat and stood an inch off the ground, refusing to hover traditionally, but nevertheless equally refusing to make contact with the ground. "Two things: would you put this on? I want to see how it fits, and if it looks fine," she requested. "Secondly," she said, pausing while she handed him the jacket and watched to see if he'd oblige, "I am Amarus, Lotus Eater, one of three Ghost Resident Assistants-- who are you? You are, ah, quite new, are you not?"
She clasped her hands in front of her, looking him over as if appraising him. As blank as his expression had been, hers would match.

Raleigh blinked when she asked him to put the jacket on. He was unsure it if would fit right but he shrugged lightly as he put the jacket on. It seemed to fit like a glove. He loved the material, "Did you make this yourself?" He asked as he gave a little turn so she could get a better look at how it fit along his structure. "Ah yes, I am new. Just got accepted about a few days ago. I've been mostly in the library, but I have finally gotten my dorm room. I'm Raleigh, the white stag." He said as he greeted her properly. "Amarus. Lovely name, but a lotus eater? I don't believe I've ever heard of one before." He added as this had perked his curiosity. "So how does it look?" Raleigh asked as he took a step back for her to see better.

Amarus nodded, approvingly, as he put the jacket on. "No, I had it made; I cannot sew for jack," she said, shaking her head, bells ringing. She smiled, briefly, then: "Raleigh the white stag, it fits as though it was made for you. Curious," she said, amused by this.
"Lotus Eaters, I have never met another of my kind-- as far as I gather, I exist to lure others into a false sense of euphoria and security, so that they never want to leave me, and they fall to ruin. If you were more familiar with me, you might find that amusing," she told him, "I certainly do."
"Tell me something, Raleigh," she said, sitting back down in her large cozy chair, inviting Raleigh to sit in an adjacent chair for a while. She made no motion of recovering the jacket, nor did she express a desire to do so for the time being. "Do you understand the necessity of strength?"
She balled one hand into a fist, and relaxed it, looking down at her palm as if she had released some winged insect or bird. Something invisible, that could fly away.

Raleigh listened as she explained what a lotus eater was. He was mesmerized by how there wasn't another that she could learn more from. "I find it fascinating that there isn't another lotus eater for you to learn more from. Anyways, I digress." He said as he wanted to know more about her kind. "Strength? I believe that strength can be used to protect those in need or used to take what you want. I want to get stronger to protect other ghosts from those who wish to harm them. As you can tell I don't have the build to be able to accomplish this task." He went on then paused for a moment as he looked to her. "I want to become strong to be able to protect those in need." He said as he clenched one hand close to his chest. It was in his nature to want to help others. As in mythology, the white stag took those of the departed to their final resting place. "What are your views on strength?" He asked after he let his hand fall to his side. He took the jacket off and let it drape over his arm.

She had not even been able to learn much about her subspecies, as she hated reading and lore on the rather strange subdivision of spirits was a little scarce. "Perhaps, though I also feel it allows me to forge my own path, clear of duty or expectations," she said, tilting her head. Once, she would have given anything for family, for a sense of belonging.
She had started to forge her own way, where none existed previously, and was all the happier for it. Amarus listened closely to Raleigh as he answered her question, toying with the gem at her throat as he spoke. Finally, after he had answered her, and asked in return, she paused for a moment.
Amarus was nothing, if not blunt: "Well, Raleigh," she began, "Do you remember how, moments ago, you said that the other type of strength is used to take what you want? I would say that is more my category." A sharp smile spread across her face for a moment, breaking the blank expression. Her eyes lit up, and she seemed a lot more animated. Friendlier.
"However, what I want... is often to protect what has become dear to me. Some students here, I believe they cannot be strong when it is needed of them. These students should have someone to go to.. but not for nothing, you see? It is an exchange. All things, in all things there must be a price." Amarus gestured vaguely with her hands as she spoke, and then she pressed a finger against her lips, thinking.
She looked Raleigh in the eye (or attempted to). "I am creating a club for those who wish to be strong. It will not merely be for the gratuitous release of sparring, but also a way in which we might patrol, scout, hear grievances, and grow stronger through more than just play-fighting. That jacket fits you perfectly, Raleigh-- perhaps it is for a reason. Would you like to join me, and temper my violence with your kindness?"
Amarus leaned back in her chair, observing. She smiled at him, again.
It wasn't as harsh, this time. Not nearly.

Raleigh listened carefully to what she was speaking. He nodded from time to time as he learned that not everyone should be set to a standard of what other expect them to be. "I can see what you mean by forging your own path. It's usually easier said than done, but it other cases it's the other way around." He pointed out with a light chuckle. He was enjoying their little chit-chat. "For a price? Like a small fee or for favors too?" Raleigh questioned as he listed to her talk about how she was the other type of strength. The idea of protecting those in need for a price seemed like a good idea at the time. He did want to become stronger to protect those dear to him. Raleigh looked her in the eye as she spoke, "Where do I sign up?" He said with a light smile upon his face. He had very little facial expression, but when he smiled it's like he was a different ghost all together. He put his hand out to seal the deal with a hand-shake. "I'm up for helping this club become something great. My kindness? I can be a bit of a pain as well, but that'll work for me. Like good cop, bad cop kind of thing?" He said with a laugh. He thought it was pretty funny, but a good idea all together.

Amarus found a piece of paper, and wrote down some information. Her writing was very awkward, and although she sounded smart enough in person, it was clear that written word was not exactly her strong suit. At least it would be legible if she didn't try full sentences. "Here is my room number, and ... well, I do not have an eyePhone, so I will have to find you to show you where we will meet. Perhaps you can come by my room some time so that we can scout out a good location for the, ah, Diamond Table." She gestured vaguely, grandly, as if it was impressive.
She was enjoying herself. And she also had her first cohort for the club. "I am afraid I do not understand the expression, Raleigh, but by your tone I imagine it is accurate. Let us be this, ah, good ...cop? Bad cop? Whatever those are."
Reluctantly, as she did not really do the shaking hands thing, she reached out her hand and gripped Raleigh's firmly. "I am glad that we met, Raleigh, and whatever our reasons for wanting to be powerful, I am content that we might work together to achieve such ends."
"If you think you are a pain, wait until you see what I am like," she replied, laughing. She was definitely being more pleasant than usual.
All that was left, for now, was to get Raleigh's signature on the official club petition document.

Raleigh chuckled light, "I don't have an eyePhone either. I'm usually in my dorm or in the library, if you'd be looking for me." He assured her as he felt the firm grip. He looked at the paper she had given him to sign. 'Seems about right." He said with an agreeing nod then signed his name in cursive that seemed to be ready to dance off the page. He handed the paper back to her then looked at the jacket. "Should I keep this or did you want it back?" He asked with confusion since he didn't know if she would need it back to make more off the based idea. "Well are you doing anything for the rest of the day? We could grab a screamccino." Raleigh offered since he was feeling on the tired side since he had little time to actually get things done after becoming accepted into the academy.

"The library," Amarus echoed, her tone ambiguous bewtween potentially irritated and bored out of her mind, though she had, in fact, gone there quite a few times. A few times too many, if you asked her. Words looked like illegible scribbles to Amarus, mostly, and she nearly detested reading. Lots of pictures: that was really the only acceptable way to have a book in hand.
At least she knew where to find him, and that he, like her, didn't really do the technology thing.
"It is yours, consider it the prototype and a mark that you are the first member," she said, tilting her head, bells ringing. "Mia fashioned it from a pattern, I am sure. It will be easy to get more of them." Mia was quite lovely, really. Very pretty, too.
"I do, in fact, have a few more classes I must attend... however, if it is a screamccino you want, shall we meet at the Maul after class?" Amarus folded her hands into the kuji-kiri for Rin out of habit. "We can get your beverage, walk back and discuss where we might put the table for now," she suggested, further. "After the sun sets, this evening. Maul entrance. Yes?" She took a step away from him, and smiled.

Raleigh put the club jacket back on. It had felt like it did belong to him, but he didn't think much on it. "Sounds easy enough for Mia." He commented as he watched Amarus fold her hands. "A screamaccino does sound good after some classes. I'll meet you by the entrance to the maul then." He said with a light smile as he noticed her step away. "I'll see you later then, Amarus!" He said with a light wave then headed off back to his dorm.
