"Business is slow right now; go take these samples and start handing them out," the cashier at the pokemart Locke worked at said. He handed Locke a box of potions.
Locke trudged to the door; it slid open automatically, and he soon found himself standing awkwardly in his uniform (pants, a blue shirt, and a white apron) outside the pokemart. Shuca, the eevee that had been snoozing outside, happily got to his feet and wagged his fluffy tail.
"I'm not off work yet, Shuca," Locke told the eevee. "I have to find trainers to advertise the pokemart... Come on, let's go together."
The burn scarred pair looked up and down the street. There seemed to be fewer people wandering around Katarina than usual.

Aquamarine walked down the street, her cutlass bouncing along her hip as she walked. Their last raid had gone well and they had a large cut to spend as they please. So her and jade had decided to go out and grab some suppose, weather legally or not was all ways the question with pirates. She wondered if there was any place that could make a good buccaneers coat around here, probably not but she should get hole that was cut in her sleeve repair, though the torn fabric, the blue team aqua logo on her shoulder was viable. It left little doubt as to who the strange pair were. Most of the people left quickly not wanting to deal with the pirates.
"We're 'bout set on pokeballs, so I reckon we'd grab some potions 'n th' like. what do ye thik Jade?" She asked her companion. Spotting a boy with an eevee, she nudged Jade and gesturing at them with a jerk of her head and wandered over. "Ahoy thar, givin' out some free stuff be we? It dont get any better than free. ye look like ye're keal hauled." Of course he was Keal hauled, there was nothing more boring than being a landlubber. She grabbed a potion trying to get a better look at his eevee, there might be hope for his pokemon.
Jade followed behind Aqua, grinning cheerfully as they made their way down the street. It was a nice day to be out and about, though it seemed as if not everyone agreed with that. And they weren't even here to raid them.
Well, not majorly anyways. A little raiding never hurt anyone.
"Aye, potions sound like a good idea." She looked over when Aqua nudged her, nodding when she saw just what the other pirate was looking at. "Ahoy." she greeted as well. "Pleasant day t' be out and about isn't it?"
Admittedly, it seemed like they might have scared off all of his customers, but hey, things like that happen.

Locke quirked an eyebrow. These fellows spoke strangely, but he hadn't been an employee of the pokemart for six years for nothing: he said in a deadpan voice, "Hello. The pokemart has a wide variety of items to suit every trainer's needs. Here's a sample." He handed a potion to Jade, since Aquamarine had already helped herself.
"Are you... cosplayers?" he asked. He hadn't heard of any real sailors wandering around Katarina lately.
Shuca stared back at Aquamarine and wagged his tail.

Aquamarine snorted at the question. "Scupper that!, only crazy people be off gallivantin' pretendin' They be somethin' they be not. We be a real band 'o pirates. Team Aqua's th' moniker, 'n ye best not forget it." She said shifting her stance and pulling her sleeve a bit so that he could see the logo on her arm. "Ye'll be hearin' th' moniker around here in frightened whispers before I sail out, spy wit' ye eye how people flee from us all ready." After all Katarina was the only city that had a port so it was the only one they could restock in with the ships, and hell if ye'd see pirates walking across continents if they could help it. She knelt down and putting her hand out to the eevee, while she wasn't a fan of cute, it could evolve into a powerful water type. "Looks like ye got ye self an interestin' 'mon here, can evolve into a bunch of different thin's and is rare too. Ye be enjoyin' ye self here? doin' th' same thin' day in 'n day out?"

That was an 'I've done this line a million times' voice if Jade had ever heard one, but she accepted the potion with a grin. "Thanks." Free was nice. "What?" Cosplayers? There were people who were dressing up as Team Aqua? Huh. She never would have expected that they were that notorious already, not here anyways. Maybe back home.
Still that was rather impressive, though if she ever did run into one, she'd likely have to stab them. It was the principle of the thing.
"No. As me matey has said, we're Team Aqua, t' most Notorious Pirates o' Hoenn. We're new t' this port." Okay, so not all of Team Aqua consisted of pirates persay, but their batch was, and really, they all should be. What was more water orientated than pirates?
Shuca could no longer contain himself; he trotted forward and butted his head against Aquamarine's hand, demanding pets.
"Pirates? Team Aqua?" Locke repeated, confused but quickly growing suspicious. "Are you like Team Rocket? You steal pokemon? Shuca, back!"
Shuca, who had been busy attempting to lick every part of Aquamarine that he could reach, suddenly leaped away from her and came to heel at Locke's feet.
"I can't say that I've heard of Team Aqua before... but if you're here to cause trouble, cause it somewhere else. I won't let you take Shuca."
He hoped that they wouldn't realize that it was an empty threat; neither he nor Shuca knew how to battle.

Aquamarine stood up and look him right in the eye as he spoke. "I could probably stab you clean trough with my cutlass before ye could get a command to your pokemon do ye really think your that intimidating?" The sword wasn't just for display after all but she was somewhat impressed by his courage. She rested one hand resting on her belt near Vesirei's pokeball. "Anyways." She continued without pausing from her last comment. "As for pillaging we mostly take gold, and such, sometimes we will liberate a few water types from the landlubbers but your ball of fluff is safe. If we were goin' to pillage it we would not be makin' small speak now would we?" She was in it more for the money than pokemon, and it seemed most 'o the crew she ran with was the same, not that getting a pretty pokemon wasn't great as well. She turned to her companion with a smirk. "Hey, Jade, why don't ye tell 'im what we be all 'bout?"
Jade merely glared at him while he compared them to Team Rocket, allowing her companion to explain things a bit more clearly. It was worth it to watch. She knew that Aqua wouldn't go too far, he was harmless, really, and it wasn't the first time that their motivations had been questioned.
"I think I can manage that." Jade said, and then grinned. "Team Aqua exists t' protect t' world, especially t' seas. Without water, life would cease t' exist, and people aren't always t' best at takin' care o' what they need." That was the official stuff. "We're also treasure hunters, and raiders, though we only take pokemon if thar is a good reason." They weren't like Team Rocket, they didn't steal pokemon just for the fun of it. She looked back at Aqua. "I think that covers everythin'?"
She ticked things off on her fingers to double check. "Oh, and we also have a ship!"

A memory flashed through Locke's mind; a row of pokemon blasting water from their mouths to douse a raging fire. Locke squeezed his eyes shut and pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger; his other hand gripped his arm where, beneath his long sleeves, lay extensive scars.
Shuca leaned against Locke's leg and whined.
Locke recovered so quickly that the strangeness of his actions might have gone unnoticed. He cleared his throat and locked the ten-year-old memories safely away again. "Water and treasure... sounds like a lot more fun than my job." He forced a laugh. "Are you recruiting?" he asked jokingly.

Aquamarine grinned at him. "Aye we be recruiting'! Ye thinkin' to go on account? Thar be not a steady pay like ye be used to, we be off by no prey, no pay. Basically, each member 'o th' crew gets a cut 'o th' loot." His eevee was perfect for the team too, being able to evolve into a vaporeon. "I can assure ye though th' team pays much better than 'tis here shop gunna ever pay ye." They could use some new blood. They were a small crew to start with and the death of Captin' Gaelan hadn't helped any, if he joined then they would be back up to four members. "Someday we'll get our hands on Kyogre 'n expand th' seven seven seas! Drench the world with water!, So how about it Matey? You up for joining the Sweet trade?"

Well, that was an unexpected turn. She hadn't expected him to want to join them, not after what he had said, and she looked him over. He was scarred, but seemed fairly strong. They could make a decent pirate out of him, and she was fairly certain that they had extra team aqua gear running around to outfit him with. She knew that she had a few extra bandannas if there wasn't anything else.
"Aye." she echoed. "Will ye join? We can offer you room and board, as well as a cut o' t' loot, as long as ye be willin' to help out." There was no room for freeloaders in their crew, but she had a feeling that it wouldn't be a issue. It had to be a better job than what he currently had, peddling free potions to lure people back to the pokemart. "There's always room for another pirate in our crew."
Locke was taken aback when the pair was serious about his joining their crew. "Um..." was all he could think of to say. Were these two serious? If they were, it would be better than his current dead-end job. He wasn't sure what a Kyogre was (Some legendary pokemon? There were too many to keep track of!), and he doubted that they truly could drown the world and expand the ocean, but... Pokemon were capable of many wondrous things. What if they could do it? The less land that existed for fire pokemon the better, in Locke's opinion.
He looked down at Shuca. "What do you think?" he asked the eevee. "Want to be a pirate? I could buy a waterstone for you."
Shuca yipped a joyful "Vee!" and bounded back over to Aquamarine to beg for more attention.
"Well... Shuca likes you, at least," Locke said with a laugh. "I've been saying for years that I would quit, anyway. Might as well do it now..." He paused for a moment, considering just how reckless and idiotic his decision was, and then he decided that he didn't care. "It'll take me a while to get everything in order," he continued. "Is there a place that I can meet you in a few days?"
((If you want, you can just say that they tell him what he needs to know (you can give details if you want but it might be easier to make it vague, whatever you prefer) and then make your posts of the Aqua leaving him be, and then in my next post will be a short time skip to a few days later, Locke will arrive and Shuca will have evolved.))

"Aye, welcome to the crew matey!" Marina bent down and petted the excited eevee for a bit. "They say thar be no time like the present after all." She stood and tossed him a water stone. "I managed to grab that on our last job, Ye got more use for it than me. Oh and you might want to get cloths other than ye "long clothes. Ye be wanting somethin' that is not loose nor to heavy. Don't want to be weighed down by ye clothing even on deck." Speaking of Long clothing she should probably grab some normal land based clothing at some point. They still had a few things to grab like Citruses, lots and lots of citruses. He could met them back at the ship, she'd leave it up to the others to pick a good time for them to set sail, and such.
